  • Fandom Rivalry: With Blue Lock, due to the two stories focusing on criticism on the Japanese soccer world but with different approaches to it. The two fandoms come at odds in regards to which series does it better, with Ao Ashi fans arguing that Blue Lock is unrealistic due to application of Improbable Sports Skills in the setting and it's survival game esque concept, while Blue Lock fans argue that the Ao Ashi fans are being too much of a killer-joy in their arguments of how unrealistic Blue Lock is, and that having some bit of Improbable Sports Skills isn't bad to have in the story.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: A reoccurring topic is on FC Barcelona and their seeming decline, which is based on their real life counterpart's woes both financially and performance wise, especially after the loss of their talisman, Lionel Messi, and his generation over the years. In the eyes of the coaching staff, the way forward is their youth academy via "La Masia", which is considered both in-universe and outside as the finest in the sport, with Demien Cant, despite only being seventeen, being seen as a wonderkid who will break into the senior squad as one of the best forwards in the world. Flash forward to the 2023-2024 season, and Barcelona seemingly gets a resurgence due to its youth players proving themselves in the first team, with a sixteen-year-old Lamine Yamal taking center stage as one of the best wingers in the world and would go on to lead Spain to victory at the 2024 Euros.
