- Harsher in Hindsight: In the dinner scene, Earl says grace to Donald Trump as if he were God or Jesus as a Take That! to Trump voters. The film came out in July 26th, so it was nearly a month before Donald Trump tweets an alleged quote that refers to him as being "like the King of Israel" and then claims that he was "The Chosen One" (while looking up at the sky, no less) over the Trade War with China on August 21.
- Overshadowed by Controversy: The film was released in the midst of renewed discussion over the #ChangeTheChannel controversy, with at least some of the heat having been instigated by Brad and Laura's comments in an episode of Friday Night Movies less than a month prior. And that's all we have to say about that.
- Special Effect Failure: They use a poorly-done green-screen for the outside of the car right then and there and a poorly done blood-effect is done when Neil shoots Earl later on. In typical Snob-fashion, this is lampshaded.
