- Fridge Brilliance: In the book "Fiesta a medianoche", the decoration skull "Ojazos" comes to life after being splashed by a potion of authenticity, which might seem odd, as an "authentic" skull shouldn't be, like, alive by itself. Until you remember: it's a calaca-themed skull, skeletons that in Mexican culture represent dead people living in the afterlife. So of course an "authentic" calaca skull would be a living skull.
- Magnificent Bastard ("La feria de las sombras"): The shadow of Oliver Dark was given life after the Full Moon Club was tricked into using a potion by Oliver's great-grandmother Morfula Dark in a plan for the shadow to get the wand of her husband Jeremías back. Causing mischief in the mansion so Oliver gets blamed for it, the shadow would then find the wand in Oliver's house and wait for the club to arrive so he could use it to give all their shadows life too and run away with them. As they all cause more mischief at Moonville's fair, they would then imitate their owners' moves to go unnoticed and after being discovered, Oliver's shadow would be the only one to escape to give Morfula the wand, being very close to escaping with her.
