- Ensemble Dark Horse: Queen Marisol appears in only one Anna & Elsa book but has quite a few fanworks about her, mainly due to how easily shipped she can be with Elsa.
- Fanfic Fuel: The books provide worldbuilding, such as expanding upon other countries than Arendelle and upon the characters' development post-Frozen.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: The Royal Dressmaker, Maren, is suspected of being Elsa's secret admirer. Come Frozen II, where some fans shipped Elsa and new character Honeymaren.
- Les Yay: Elsa and Marisol's behavior comes off as flirty to many. They're also pretty physical despite just meeting, such as when Marisol throws her arms around Elsa and when she holds her hands while saying she'll miss Elsa very much and wishes for her to visit again soon. Even before meeting Marisol, Elsa thinks to herself that her name is beautiful.
- Squick: Elsa's favorite dish, which is fish described as having a foul smell and a even worse taste. Anna actually has to struggle with just one bite. Thankfully Elsa notices this and spares her from finishing the whole plate.
