- Awesome Music: The songs are all quite catchy and a bop to listen to.
- Epileptic Trees: Some have theorized that "Pogo Sticks" takes place in a Nineteen Eighty-Four-like dystopian future where creative expression is banned. All of the rectangular pillars represent the obedient townspeople. The Pogo Sticks are a band of rebels who sneak out at night and travel across the city playing music.
- Fan Nickname:
- "Fanimusic" is a common nickname for fanmade Animusic-style animation.
- The green onion-shaped instruments in "More Bells and Whistles" have been nicknamed "fumps", based on the video ID for the most popular YouTube upload
of the animation.
- Nightmare Fuel: There have been viewers who have found the animations accompanying the music to be unnervingly surreal.
- "Resonant Chamber" tends to get this especially for its spider-like fingers that play the numerous strings.
- Older Than They Think: Wayne Lytle's first musical animation was "More Bells and Whistles", and was released in 1990 before Animusic got its current name.
- Shipping: In "Starship Groove", with the blue and red robots. Wayne Lytle has at least once referred to the red robot as female.
- Signature Song: "Pipe Dream", which became popular enough to spawn a sequel in Animusic 2.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: The CGI animation still looks impressive even more than twenty years after the videos were released. The video for "Pipe Dream" was often confused for a video of real machines
back when it was new. (Interestingly, as noted under the Trivia tab, Intel has actually made that machine.)
