  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • This episode is the last bout of levity and normalcy for the Fang Gang before everything starts going to hell for the remainder of the series. In particular, the dread of Gunn's subplot is even more palpable on the re-watch, knowing what his Deal with the Devil is about to unleash over the next 2 episodes.
    • With the rise of social media there are some independent groups that disguise themselves as harmless children's entertainment but with subtext or isolated lines encouraging them to do horrible things, just for their own amusement (in contrast to works that may play with the imagery but are more obvious it's not for kids). This can be especially dangerous as parents are relying more and more on screens as a babysitter and won't be paying attention to everything being introduced.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Lorne says "Is there a Geppetto in the house?!" Andy Hallett went on to make Geppetto's Secret.
  • Memetic Molester: The episode opens with a puppet on the TV screen asking a child to touch the TV screen reassuring him that it will be okay, then magically sucking the life energy out of him while making moans of pleasure reminiscent of sexual pleasure. A later line in the episode makes it clear that the puppets' explicit goal is to steal the innocence of children and export it into the hell dimensions.
  • Narm Charm: SO much Narm that still somehow feels dramatic and emotional.
