- Alternative Character Interpretation:
- Is Bertia actually similar to Heronia in her attempts to manipulate the plot? Is she just as ignorant and selfish by pushing Cecil and Heronia together despite his refusal to comply? Or does her less viciously manipulative personality and natural klutziness just make her attempts more endearing in comparison?
- Chapters 25 and 26 of the manga reveal that in every route in which Heronia ends up with someone other than Cecil, something happens either to or because of Cecil and there is a war with the neighboring country. It’s specifically implied if not outright stated that Cecil has major issues that falling in love with the heroine in his route would have resolved, and Cecil himself was able to figure out what his flaws were in each of the other routes. Bertia knew this and was trying to lead things to the route that she knew would prevent a war but also allow Cecil to be happy. Her flaw in this regard seemed to mostly be in that she didn’t realize someone besides Heronia was capable of saving Cecil from his fate or that she already had.

- Nightmare Fuel:
- Some of the expressions that characters pull in the manga are deeply unnerving. Cecil and Joanna's cold smiles when they are angry, such as when they're confronting the girl who pushed Bertia down the stairs, look downright murderous. Heronia also pulls some truly unhinged faces while she's screaming and ranting about how she is the only one who can be with Cecil.
- Pi's attack on Cecil at the graduation ceremony. They trap him in an illusory world and show him the canon events of the game where he ended up with Heronia, which seems tame on the surface, but Cecil himself is horrified by his game self's callousness and genuinely fears that he is going to suffer Death of Personality if the illusion overwrites his memories of the altered timeline. His arms and legs slowly turning into doll limbs until he collapses, echoing Heronia calling him an "emotionless doll," is also very disturbing.
