An Impractical Guide to Godhood

  • Catharsis Factor: Zeus of all people unleashes one in Chapter 35 when he interrupts the Coalition sending thousands of volunteers through a portal that will mark them as participants in an infamous Deadly Game where immortality is suspended for divine participants. Zeus hurls all but two of the Coalition through that portal themselves so they will be forced to experience whatever they put anyone else through and will be surrounded by participants who hate them. Sadistic, smug Diabolical Mastermind Prometheus is noted as going through the portal kicking and screaming.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Rico and Julian, the Those Two Guys Mad Bomber penguins, are a source of some very hilarious and very impressive moments and fans love them for it more than many larger characters.
    • Dionysus only appears in a few chapters per arc, but his friendship with Perseus and unhappiness with many of Zeus’s decisions make him one of the more consistently liked Olympians.
    • Douglas Smith was probably the Suicide Squad new recruit fans were most hopeful to see survive the second arc (after maybe the penguins) at the start and most disappointed to see fall.
  • Unexpected Character:
    • Many (although not all) reviewers to comment on the reveal that Empress Triumphant was the one sharing a body with Bianca were quite surprised, having expected someone with a role like what she had up until then to be either Cat Foundling (who does show up much later) or one of the lesser Dread Emperors known more for Laughably Evil audacity than The Conqueror feats.
    • Julian the Apostate was not a name that came up often as reviewers tried to guess the identity of the third Triumvirate member.
