- Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Robert Reynolds was a very divisive-at-best character when this comic was written: his powers and nature were hugely inconsistent, characters talked up how awesome he was despite his nature as a retcon meaning we never saw this, and it seemed like the writers kept forgetting him being Marvel's greatest hero was meant to be deconstructive rather than true. Many detractors of the character were won over by his portrayal here, mostly because it actually showed him being an awesome hero and a core part of the Marvel Universe (while also, in many ways, showing how and why he isn't a core part of the Marvel Universe).
