• Ensemble Dark Horse: Miho, at least in Japan.
• Fandom Rivalry: Had a small one with Nichijou, especially since both shows were in the same timeslot when airing.
• Fridge Horror: Satou-sensei is sickly and can pass out at any time. In one episode he's seen driving a car. With his two colleagues aboard, to boot. This just spells lethal traffic accident.
• Moe: Nearly every character in the series looks very endearing, but especially Run and Tooru.
• The Woobie: Yuuko often falls into this role. Probably best seen in her earliest chronological scene, where she's taking her entrance exam and gets hit in the face by the broken tip of Run's pencil. Poor girl thought that she had just gotten a taste of nasty competition in the scary big city, she being from the countryside.
