Edward Jones (born December 20, 1974) is an American Professional Wrestler from Pennsylvania best known for his work for CHIKARA. He debuted in 2002 and formed Team F.I.S.T. with Icarus in 2003. They were originally tecnicos but turned heel and joined The Kings of Wrestling in 2005. Icarus and Akuma defeated The Kings (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli) for the CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas at Brick on November 17, 2006, which was the first step in the group's decline. Akuma also wrestled for CZW, Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, various Wrestling Is... promotions, Dragon Gate USA and various others. He retired in February 2018 following a loss to Travis Huckabee at the 2018 Season Premiere Beware The Snowman on January 28th. Along with his CdP reign, he is a former FIP Florida Heritage Champion, a former NAWF Junior Heavyweight Champion, he and Icarus were the inaugural and 2x PWE Tag Team Champions, and Team F.I.S.T. (Icarus/Akuma/Chuck Taylor) won the 2009 King of Trios tournament.

He has nothing to do with the Street Fighter character.

As usual, you can find the basics at The Other Wiki.

"Mysterious, Mythological Tropes From Afar":

  • Arch-Enemy: Well, Team F.I.S.T. had a major feud with The Colony, but, due to being top Rudos for a long time, they were pretty much hated by everybody. His final feud was with his former teammates after he was replaced by Johnny Gargano.
  • Bald of Awesome: During his second Chikara run as a tecnico.
  • Bald of Evil: Post un-masking, as part of F.I.S.T., and during his 2017 return.
  • The Bus Came Back: After staying away from CHIKARA for a year and a half, he returned to seek revenge on his ex-stablemates at the end of season ten. He subsequently ran the gauntlet against F.I.S.T. and defeated Icarus in a ladder match to win the rights to a full time contract.
    • Appeared in a Top Banana hype video at the tail end of Season 15, then didn't appear again until Aniversario 2017. He then made a more regular return to the roster for the first time since 2013 at the end of 2017.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He was in the audience for The Second Show, May 31, 2002, meaning his face appeared on camera three years before he lost his mask to Shane Storm at Running In The Red on November 13, 2005.

  • Finishing Move: Yoshi Tonic
  • Gimmick Matches: At Chikarasaurus Rex: How To Hatch A Dinosaur, June 2, 2012, he defeated Icarus in only the second ladder match in CHIKARA history.
  • Parts Unknown: "Afar, PA"
  • Power Stable: Aside from the obvious, he was also a member of KAMIKAZE USA in Dragon Gate USA.
  • Put on a Bus: After being kicked out of F.I.S.T. in 2010 he disappeared from Chikara for a year and a half - although he worked other indies, including the vaguely Chikara-affiliated Dragon Gate USA during that time.
    • Bussed out again in 2014 as he was not contacted about a return, possibly due to negative comments made about the Titor Conglomerate storyline - he said he'd 'prefer to be wrestling'. Again, worked other indies, including the vaguely Chikara-affiliated Excellence Professional Wrestling.
    • Bussed out yet again in mid-February of 2018, as he announced his retirement. Though he's since unretired, there has been no word as to him returning.
  • Red Baron: "The Mysterious, Mythological Warrior From Afar"
  • Spiritual Successor: Travis Huckabee is filling Akuma's role in Icarus' reconstituted Team F.I.S.T., with Icarus as himself and Tony Deppen going out of his way to imitate Chuck Taylor as closely as possible.
  • The Stoic: Noted for not having much emotion in general, and often played the Straight Man to Icarus and Chuck Taylor.
  • Tecnico Rudo Turn: Turned in 2005 and didn't look back until he got kicked out of F.I.S.T. in 2010.
  • Tag Team: (Team) F.I.S.T., with Icarus and Chuck Taylor, until he was kicked out in favor of Johnny Gargano.
  • Take That!: After returning in 2012, Akuma named his rolling Death Valley Driver the "MP4," in contrast to Icarus' "Blu-Ray." As he explained on Twitter, "Because I stole it."
  • Tournament Arc:
    • King of Trios 2009, of course.
    • At PWE's April 9, 2005 event, he and Icarus defeated FNA (Aidiean and Flex Fenom) in the final to become the inaugural PWE Tag Team Champions.
    • He and Icarus defeated Cheech and Cloudy in the final of the one night tag team tournament at CHIKARA From Zero to Hero (& Castagnoli) on November 12, 2006 to earn their title shot against The Kings of Wrestling.
    • On October 24, 2015, he defeated Sam Shields in the final of OPW Masters of the Mat 2015.
