The gang is preparing to celebrate Mother's Day with the exception of Peppermint Patty, since she doesn’t have a mom, so with Marcie’s help she’ll try to find a way to celebrate the day with her dad.
This special contains examples of:
- Bait-and-Switch: It looks in a scene that Patty is talking to an adult as we hear the usual trombone-like sound they make, but it turns out it was Marcie playing an actual trombone.
- Consolation Backfire: Patty commenting that at least Snoopy and Woodstock didn’t leave her behind for Mother’s Day causes for Woodstock to remember that he had to visit his mom too (and for Snoopy to accompany him).
- Cute, but Cacophonic: The roaring howls Snoopy and Woodstock heard at the forest ended up being from a group of small rabbits.
- A Day in the Limelight: For Peppermint Patty and Marcie, as they try to find a way for the former to celebrate Mother's Day with her dad.
- Missing Mom: Patty has never had a mom, so she can’t stand it anytime Mother's Day comes.
