LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation is an animated LEGO Star Wars special released on Disney+ on August 5th, 2022.

Set after The Rise of Skywalker, the plot follows Finn treating his friends to a vacation on board The Halcyon note , a luxury cruise ship, before they all have to split up on seperate missions. Unfortunately for Finn, who is attempting to plan out the perfect vacation for them all to enjoy together, everyone ends up going their separate ways instead of spending time together. Feeling alone and dejected, Finn is visited by three force spirits of previous heroes who recount tales of their own vacations to help Finn during his time of need.

This special is the third of its kind, following The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special in 2020 and LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales in 2021.

Tropes include:

  • Adaptational Comic Relief: As is typical for the LEGO Star Wars specials, all characters to some degree, but the Emperor especially so. Anakin, for example, is played like a Surfer Dude.
  • Ascended Meme: Anakin's memetic hatred of sand gets a nod where Finn complains about it getting everywhere, to which the Jedi ghost agrees.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Finn is able to get his friends together and admit his sadness that everyone is going their separate ways for a while, but tells them he loves them and will cherish every moment they have together.
  • Boyfriend Bluff: Colvett, a Rebel spy, pretends that Obi-Wan is her husband on vacation with her to divert suspicion from two Stormtroopers.
  • Breaking the Fellowship: The group is going to be parting ways.
    • Rey is going to search for Jedi temples in the Unknown Regions.
    • Poe will continue to train X-wing pilots to continue building up the Resistance.
    • Rose is going to lead a bunch of relief missions.
    • Finn is going to search for other Force-sensitives in the galaxy.
  • Breather Episode: This marks one of the few Star Wars projects where the galaxy isn't at stake for once, as it's just Finn and co. taking a cruise to unwind after all the havoc they've been put through.
  • …But He Sounds Handsome: Inverted. While talking to Finn, Anakin mentions he knew this guy who was really evil. Of course, he was that guy, alias Darth Vader.
  • Call-Back:
  • Call-Forward:
  • The Cameo: "Weird Al" Yankovic plays the announcer on Scarif.
  • Cannot Talk to Women: A young Ben Solo struggles to stammer out an introduction to Sidero on Endor.
  • Cruise Episode: The entirety of the special is set on a luxury starcruiser.
  • Cucumber Facial: BB-8 is seen with one after he and the other droids get back from their oil baths.
  • Failed a Spot Check: No one on Scarif seems to recognize the wrinkly old man who has a cackling Evil Laugh as Palpatine, nor the guy in the armor with the heavy breathing as Darth Vader. At least until Palpatine gets zapping and Vader's hat falls off, then they recognize them.
  • Fantastic Racism: Wick Cooper seriously dislikes Ewoks, although he rather quickly reveals that the Ewoks are genuinely upset with him setting up a resort on their planet. He tried to have Han Solo and Leia Organa scare them away, but he failed to realize they were friends with the Ewoks, but they manage to come to a compromise.
  • Funny Background Event: A few scenes feature Gonk Droids suffering Amusing Injuries in the background.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Palpatine claims that without a ruler, you have chaos. He then starts electrocuting things and sends the crowd into a chaotic panic.
  • Incredibly Lame Fun:
    • Among Poe's activities is the "Engineering Room Experience."
    • Han Solo's attempts at a fun trip with his family take them to Mimban, a dreary, muddy planet where the main attractions are 4th and 3rd largest balls of mud in the galaxy. Afterwards he takes them to a camp on Endor, which has fallen into disrepair.
  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": Finn is very excited to talk to the spirits of past heroes, despite Leia pointing out that he also fits her description of the War Hero and Resistance general.
  • Leitmotif: The main theme for The Book of Boba Fett plays as the titular character pursues Obi-Wan and Colvett on Tatooine.
  • "Mission: Impossible" Cable Drop: Colvett uses one of these to steal the Coaxium during Jabba's party.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: C-3PO says that he enjoys being the Ewoks' Golden God again when they start worshipping him, while in Return of the Jedi he says it's outside of his programming to be called a deity in the exact same situation.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: It seems that the reason nobody notices Vader on Scarif is apparently because he's wearing a big hat. As soon as it falls off, someone recognizes him.
  • Pet the Dog: Boba does a dance for Jabba, in spite of not wanting to, because it's the Hutt's birthday.
  • Phrase Catcher: Anakin and Leia both find it hard to believe that Obi-Wan told Finn to have fun.
  • Production Foreshadowing: C-3PO and R2-D2 wear holiday sweaters early on. LEGO would include these figures later in 2022 in a Star Wars advent calendar (listed on the official Easter Egg page).
  • Punny Name: The bartender droid is named BV-RJ after the word "beverage".
  • Shout-Out: Finn's encounter with Obi-Wan is a good version of Jack Torrance's encounter with Lloyd the bartender.
  • Silicon Snarker: The bartender droid BV-RJ is a bit of this. When Finn asks BV-RJ what they'd recommend for someone whose friends left them, the droid responds "better friends?"
  • Smooch of Victory: Sidero kisses Ben after he flies the Falcon safely away from the debris field.
  • Starship Luxurious: The Halcyon, a high end cruise ship, is featured to promote the real life Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.
  • Stock Scream: As Anakin's story begins, a man runs past doing the Wilhelm Scream.
  • Take That!:
    • When Finn meets Obi-Wan, he assumes that someone is building a second Starkiller Base, a Second Order is rising, or that Palpatine is coming back again. It's not the reason he's here, but it does act in mockery towards a common criticism of the sequels for recycling concepts from the original trilogy and the original Expanded Universe.
    • The Emperor complains that his job involves nothing but “bureaucratic nonsense”, such as the Senate squabbling over taxation of outlying trade routes.
  • Tempting Fate: Vic's song celebrates the lack of Imperial presence on Scarif. Later, Palpatine decides to put a base there.
  • To Serve Man: The Ewoks have been trying to eat the tourists that tour operator Wick Cooper brought to Endor, admittedly against the Ewoks' will. They also try to grill Cooper himself over an open fire.
  • Tuckerization:
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Vader takes Palpatine on a vacation to help him get away from the stresses of running an Empire. All Palpatine does is complain, and Vader eventually reaches his Rage Breaking Point to call him out on it.
  • Vacation Episode: Revolving around the Sequel Trilogy heroes going on a vacation aboard the Halcyon, and also segments detailing vacations taken by Obi-Wan, Vader and Palpatine, and Ben Solo.
  • Victory Is Boring: Palpatine laments that with the Jedi defeated, his day-to-day routine is simply maintaining the bureaucracy of the Empire he built.
  • Villains Out Shopping:
    • Jabba is shown to enjoy a big barbecue for his birthday every year.
    • Vader takes Palpatine to enjoy a day at the beach on Scarif, but Palpatine is too cranky to enjoy it and ends up ruining it due to his megalomania.
  • Yet Another Christmas Carol: A summer vacation themed spin on the trope, Finn is visited by the Force-ghosts of Obi-Wan, Anakin and Leia to give their own vacation stories and the lessons they learnt from them.
