Wasted Away is a completed web comic started in 2013. It follows the adventures of Radon, a successful business cat in a big city, after the city is destroyed in a huge war. Abandoned by his family for his perceived selfishness and neglect, Radon strikes a bargain with a spirit called Radium, who wants to experience reality for himself - Radium can take over Radon's body, but only if he uses it to try to reunite Radon with his family.


Wasted Away contains examples of:

  • Benched Hero: Radon retires to his mind for a while while Radium takes over. He gets better.
  • Big Ego, Hidden Depths: Radon, in spades; he starts out mostly caring about his social status with cats her hardly knows, and most of the comic is about his journey to change for the better.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Radon - he's neglectful to his family, but realizes his mistakes after they leave him. Later on, Radium; he steals Radon's emotions and life, but just wanted to experience the real world and is devastated when he realizes what he's done.
  • Mutagenic Goo: Pools and pools of it. Radon runs a club that has a euphoriant variety.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: Radon deciding he likes being out of the real world.
  • Really Was Born Yesterday: Radium in the real world.
  • Third-Person Flashback: Radon, within his mind, watching video tapes of his memories with a third-person version of himself.
  • Advertisement:
  • Tragic Dream: Radium believes existence in the real world in beautiful and wonderful, and wants to experience it. He ends up regretting it.
  • We Want Our Jerk Back: When Radium realizes that the real world is terrifying, and that he messed up Radon's life, he tries to leave. Radon chases him down, but Radium deletes himself.
