Novae contains examples of:
- Necromancer: This is what Sulvain is, both being able to communicate with the recently deceased and possibly bring them back. To a further extent he's most likely in some way also the undead seeing as he normally lacks a heartbeat and doesn't need to breathe.
- The Ageless: Sulvain makes more than a few references to things being a long time ago and his age and birthdate are listed as spoilers. Just how long ago does he mean?Sulvain: [tracing] I never imagined I would one day look at the sky like this, not back in those times!
Raziol: Ha! Back in those times? - The Big Damn Kiss: After three whole chapters of romantic tension, Raziol and Sulvain finally kiss for the first time on page 114. For the first time on the lips, that is.
