Behind the Light: Tales of Blunder is a spinoff of Rabtoons's own Final Fantasy In A Nutshell series. More specifically, from their episode of Final Fantasy XIV.

The strips can be read on Rabtoons' Youtube, Twitter and their Discord.

Deep in the vaults of the Behind the Light archives... there lies countless untold tales of Hyurbert, Lalafelon, Eliza and Roechelle. These are the stories they didn't want you to see... These are the Tales of Blunder.

The strips will assume you are familiar with the game and story and will openly spoil the game if you're not. You have been warned.

  • Berserk Button: 2022 sees the return of the GARO event to PVP, which Lalafellon is excited about. Hyurbert asks what it is and gets a rundown on the series. Hyurbert's first impression is that it's Power Rangers, which drives Lalafellon up a wall, to which he argues it's a Tokusatsu and that's what they are. As far as Hyurbert's concerned, if they're in suits and fighting monsters, it's Power Rangers. That causes Lalafellon to jump on him and pull his hair.
  • Bribing Your Way to Victory: "A Lalafell Never Tells Lies" shows Lalafelon is doing this for the Culinarian quests, though it's less buying out the materials himself and more making Hyurbert do it for him.
  • Frying Pan of Doom: "A Lalafell Never Tells Lies" has Lalafelon smack Hyurbert for giving him lip after telling him he can't level up Culinarian fast enough.
  • Girliness Upgrade: "Never Again" has Roechelle go for a pink dress glamour for once. After being told she'd look cuter if she'd switch to being a miqo'te, she goes right back to wearing heavy Dark Knight plate mail.
  • Gratuitous German: As always, Roechelle is the only party member who speaks German despite playing in Cactaur, a US server.
  • Groupie Brigade: "Fame Comes at a Cost" has Hyurbert" learn all about Asmongoldnote  that he has fans following him all over Limsa Lominsa.
  • Killer Rabbit: "Leave It to Hyurbert" makes it look like Hyurbert's facing down some giant monster...but it's a tiny squirrel. He only died because Lalafelon couldn't be bothered to heal him.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: "A Lover Scorned" has Elisa's "husband" use his spousal teleport to teleport to her just as she finally gets to the top of the highest viewpoint in Kugane and knocks her off.
  • Orphaned Punchline: "Fame Comes at a Cost" has Hyurbert giving one of these.
Hyurbert: "And then I said: "That's no lalafell, that's my wife!"
Interviewer: I, uh... don't get it.
    Hyurbert: Me neither.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: "An Unlikely Savior" has Lalafelon rescuing a prisoner from the Amal'jaa who's just about free, only to find himself popped back in his cage because Lalafelon's chocobo died and he got hit before he could finish the guy's dialogue. And then his Expert dungeon queue pops, leaving the guy to his fate.
  • Wingdinglish: "Never Again" shows this is how Roechelle perceives the English language until she turns on Auto-Translate, and all just to learn that the miqo'te player telling her her glamour would be better suited if she was a miqo'te.
