Webcomic / Arcane Doodleverse

Go To

The Arcane Doodleverse is a series of short webcomics drawn by A.G. Nonsuch, creator of RWBY Doodleverse, that, as its name suggests, is an Affectionate Parody about the characters of Arcane as they get into funny situations in a simplistic artstyle.

While it can be found on A.G.'s Twitter and Instagram, she has a section on Webtoon dedicated to it.

Arcane Doodleverse contains examples of:

  • Actor Allusion: In "Prison", when Caitlyn asks Vi what she did in Stillwater, Vi alludes to her voice actress Hailee Steinfeld's previous roles. At the end, she's inexplicably replaced with Spider-Gwen.
  • Adaptation Amalgamation: The "Star Guardian" subseries combines the setting of Arcane with the story of League's Star Guardian skins, which are confirmed to be in an Alternate Universe. A.G. herself admits that she knows nothing about League of Legends other than Arcane, but as a gay woman herself, can't pass up a lesbian love story (Star Guardian Jinx and Lux have a lot of Ship Tease).
  • Adaptational Heroism: Jinx is seen living with Vi and Cait in numerous comics, having apparently gone through a partial Heel–Face Turn at some point. Though she's still a mischievous bundle of explosive chaos who still harbors some hate for Caitlyn.
  • Alternate Universe Fic: Some of the fics are set in an alternate universe where Cait, Vi, and Powder met each other as kids before that nasty accident with the monkey bomb.
  • Animated Actors: Strips about the Bridging the Rift docuseries and "Emmy's" have the characters be actors yet somehow also still being the characters they play. For example, "Docuseries 2" ends with Jinx being deemed the best choice to portray Jinx.
  • Black Comedy: In "Adopted" Cait states she's always wanted a little sister and is happy for Jinx to fulfill that role despite the fact that she "killed like most of [her] friends and probably [her] madre but..."
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: In "Outing", a fusion with Pride and Prejudice, Cassandra feels like she should be wary of Jinx. Jinx responds with, "Nah. Not in this universe, lady."
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Jinx states in "Star Guardian Part 1" that she finds the prospect of saving the world ludicrous.
  • Caught with Your Pants Down: In "Shower", Jinx is going to abduct Caitlyn like at the end of episode 8, but stumbles upon Cait, um, "pleasuring" herself while thinking of Vi.
  • Continuity Nod: In "Netflix", Cait is revealed to be a fan of series "Murdered and Cooked". At the beginning of "After School", she's seen listening to a fan podcast.
  • Covert Pervert: In "Acme", Jinx distracts Cait with "Free pics of Vi's muscles", which she gladly looks at. There's also "Shower", which is even more sexually charged on her part.
  • Crossover: There are a few crossovers with A.G. Nonsuch's RWBY Doodleverse, such as one where Ruby tries to teach Jinx to deal with getting a sister-in-law.
  • Didn't Think This Through: In "Ivy", Jinx plans to trick Cait into giving herself a rash by passing off a bouquet of poison ivy as a gift from Vi. She then picks up that poison ivy with her bare hands.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come: In the first of the "Star Guardian" subseries, Jinx dreams of herself as a Star Guardian and having a close relationship with Star Guardian Lux. When she arrives to school and sees Lux, though she has blonde hair, Jinx can instantly recognize her and is smitten.
  • Epic Fail: In "Chores", Vi tries doing the chores with her Atlas Gloves. All this does is destroy everything.
  • Evil Aunt: In the second strip titled "Adopted", the newly-adopted Ren now has to deal with Aunt Jinx's less-than-stellar empathy and maturity.
  • Failed a Spot Check: "Supply Chain" has Mr. and Mrs. Kiramman somehow do not notice Jinx dragging their unconscious daughter in the hallway right behind them.
  • Funny Background Event: At the end of "Is it Cake?", Vi can be seen drooling at the sight of a cake shaped exactly like Cait.
  • Fusion Fic: There is a 3-part arc that places Arcane characters in the place of Turning Red characters. Specifically, Cait is Mei, and Vi is Devon. To prevent Squickiness, they're the same age in this universe. There's also another one with Pride and Prejudice, which A.G. made for her wife.
  • Future Me Scares Me: Caitlyn sees her future self in "Lol Part I" and is a bit miffed that she spouts "generic detective catchphrases" and sounds "like a British nanny".
  • The Gadfly: In "Award", Jinx claims Vi won a trophy for "#1 Bottom".
  • Reformed, but Not Tamed: Jinx has mellowed out enough that she can talk to her sister and her girlfriend, but she still is a highly mischievous prankster with a love for bombs and still displays some disturbing behavior towards Cait.
  • I Am Very British: Caitlyn's dialect has her say formal love names like "Darling" and "my love" to Vi. And occasionally, when she does something, she's described as doing it "in British".
  • Irony: In "Netflix", Vi notes that Jinx's choice of shows on Netflix are actually pretty innocent.
  • Lesbian Jock: In "TV Tropes", this is Caitlyn's favorite trope, coupled with a picture of Vi showing off her guns.
  • Let Us Never Speak of This Again: Jinx says this nearly verbatim after mistaking Caitlyn for her mother (just like her sister when she was grievously injured) while sick.
  • Lilliputians: "Tiny", "Now Kiss", and "Flick" involve Jayce creating tiny clones of Vi, Jinx, and Caitlyn purely to be "stinkin' adorable" and how they're played with by the real deals.
  • Magical Girl AU: The Star Guardian comics are this by default, since Star Guardian skins are this to League of Legends itself.
  • Morality Pet: In "TV Tropes", Jinx's favorite trope is apparently "Bury Your Gays", coupled with an image of Vi and Cait's eyes crossed out, but then Lux comes into the panel and "Bury Your" is crossed out, implying Lux will be one to Jinx.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: In "Netflix", Caitlyn of all people is revealed to be one, watching macabre True Crime shows.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: A sick Vi uses this to get Caitlyn to cuddle with her, against better judgement.
  • Shout-Out:
    • In response to this page being created, A.G. made a strip shouting out to This Very Wiki aptly called "TV Tropes".
    • "Obvious" has Vi saying word-for-word Plankton's "I am small" moment.
  • Take That!: "Pride" a pretty obvious one to companies that cheaply try to capitalize on Pride Month by simply changing the company logo to a rainbow, in this case Jayce and Viktor.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: What's Caitlyn's reaction to Jinx shooting a paint rocket at the Emmy Awards in "Emmy's"? A resigned "Bollocks".
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Even before becoming Jinx, in comics set in an alternate timeline where the sisters and Cait knew each other before the canon series' timeskip, Powder displays homicidal behavior towards Cait.
