So This Is Basically... was a Web Animation series created by JelloApocalypse (real name Brendan Blaber), best known for his Welcome to... series. In fact, So This is Basically was a Spiritual Successor to that series, but instead of summarizing websites, Jello explained pieces of media, mainly Western Animation, Anime, and Video Games. It was his dominant series after the final installment of Welcome to.

Each episode featured Jello as a narrator talking about the work in question, with his own illustrations displayed instead of screenshots from the work (episodes after the first few were drawn by other artists in Jello's style, though Jello still did storyboarding). Most of the humor is carried over from Welcome to; expect lots of lampshading and lighthearted (and some not so lighthearted) jabs at the work's problems, even if he has no clue what he is talking about.

With the release of So This Is Basically Genshin Impact in May 2022, Jello sadly confirmed that he's not currently planning on making more episodes due to an increased focus on other projects, such as his voice acting career, various gaming highlight videos, and the Epithet Erased novels.

The episodes can be found here. In order, the series tackled:

While the series was active, contributors to Jello's Patreon were able to vote for what the next episode of So This is Basically was.

So This Is Basically... a Trope List:

  • Accidental Misnaming: One of the biggest Running Gags is Jello getting names wrong in his narration. They generally persist for the entire video.
    • Steven Universe: Amethyst is "Armrest", Pearl is "Squidward", Rose Quartz is "Mrs. Marshmallow", Jasper is "Hulk Hogan", Ronaldo is "Curly Fries Man", and Yellow Diamond is "the evil space giraffe".
    • Miraculous Ladybug: Ladybug is "Ladybubs" (real name given as "Marionette") and Cat Noir is "Catnerd" (his real name is given as "Brady Bunch").
    • Gravity Falls: Mabel is "Marbles", Dipper is "Dipstick", Grunkle Stan is "Martin Mystery", Gideon is "Gilderoy Lockhart", Soos is "Dr. Seuss", and Bill Cipher is "Razzle-Dazzle Dorito".
    • Cowboy Bebop: Spike Spiegel is "Spike Spencer", Jet Black is "Jet Set Radio", Faye Valentine is "Mai Valentine", Ed is "Danny Elfman", and Julia is "Mrs. Bebop".
    • Overwatch: There's one for every single playable character (well, the ones that were playable at the time of the video's creation), plus extra ones for Soldier: 76 ("Call of Duty" for when he was Jack Morrison and "Call of Duty: Ghosts" for how he is now) and Reaper ("Death Gun" for when he was Gabriel Reyes and "Little Timmy's First OC" for how he is now).
    • Adventure Time: Princess Bubblegum is "Princess Bobobo", The Ice King is "Ice Cream", The Lich is "The Snitch", and BMO is "Beebo".
    • Pokémon: Professor Kukui is called "Professor Tree".
    • Danny Phantom: Tucker and Sam become "Sucker and Tam".
    • The Legend of Zelda: Every place where Link's name should be said is replaced by one of Link's signature yells. It even replaces the word "link" when it shows up ("linked" timelines and the GBA Link Cable). Ganondorf is once referred to as "Gambledork".
    • Rick and Morty: Rick is "Brick" and Morty is "Mortar".
    • Star vs. the Forces of Evil: Surprisingly, nobody is incorrectly named, but the show itself is called Star vs. the Faces of Evil.
    • My Hero Academia: Deku is referred to as both "Deku Scrub" and "Small Might". Uraraka is "Interplanet Janet", Iida is "Initial D", Mina is "Slip-N-Slide", Momo is "Easy Make Oven", Tsuyu is "All Frogs Go to Heaven", Bakugou is both "Bakugan" and then when he's introduced in the roll call he and Aoyama are collectively introduced with "Gunpowder Gelatine, Dynamite With a Laser Beam", Sero is "Caught on Tape", Tooru is "Not on Tape", Kirishima is "Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu", Fumikage is "Two Birds, One Hero", Kouda is "Animal Crossing", Kyouka is "Damn it, how do these things always get so tangled?", Todoroki is "That's Rough, Buddy", Shouji is "Oh, uh... Ew."; Rikidou, Ojiro, Mineta, and Kaminari are given the Theme Naming of "Soda", "OJ", "Purple Stuff", and "Two Kinds of Sunny D", respectively. Shigaraki is also referred to as "Bad Touch Man" and Toga is referred to as "This Girl Who Looks Like She's on the Verge of Climaxing".
    • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The title is renamed to "JimJim's Bizarre Advimvims", while the main protagonists are all called "Joje" instead of "JoJo" like they usually are.
    • Ace Attorney: Phoenix is "Knick-Knack Paddy Whack", Maya is "Hamburger Helper", Pearl is "Literal Toddler", Kay is "Technically Not a Thief", Rayfa is "Dancing Queen", Franziska is "~She's So Pretty~", Luke is "This Reminds Me of a Puzzle", Trucy is "Gramaryevil", and Edgeworth is "Miles Legwork". Averted with Gumshoe, Apollo, and Athena.
    • RWBY: Ruby is just Ruby, Weiss is "Whines", Blake is "Bland", and Salem is "Mommy Salami". And let's not start with how many times he butchers "RWBY" including "Rwubby", "Rude Bees", "Robbie Rotten", "Kanga-RWBY", and "Roomba". He also refers to Faunus as "Laguz".
    • Sonic the Hedgehog: Sonic is "Sonic Hedgehog", Dr. Eggman is "Large Egg", Eggman Nega is "Rotten Egg", Chaos is "Scrambled Egg", Mephiles is "Century Egg", Zavok is "Devilled Egg", The Egg Robos are "Easter Eggs", Erazor Djinn is "Egg... Benedict" and Shadow is "Gamer Sonic". As well, the Chaos Emeralds are known as the "Hair Dye Crystals".
    • Persona 5: The protagonist/Joker is "Nasty Crimeboy," the Phantom Thieves of Hearts are "The Do-Crimers", and Goro Akechi is "Sketchy Akechi."
    • Trails of Cold Steel, Erebonia is "Will Bone Ya", Rean is given the title "Human Friendship Speech" and you'll probably lose track of all of his friends.
  • Acting for Two: invoked Lampshaded in the Gravity Falls episode, wherein one of its major mysteries is that "half the cast is voiced by Soos" (Alex Hirsch).
  • Actor Allusion: Jello refers to Mermando (played by Matt Chapman) as "Strong Bad".
  • Affectionate Parody:
    • It's clear that Jello loves the series he's making fun of, aside from a few criticisms. The sole exceptions are Adventure Time, Kingdom Hearts, and RWBY.
      • With Adventure Time, Jello finds that Finn, Jake, and Princess Bubblegum are unsympathetic leads, the humor is awkward and stupid, the excessive Toilet Humor is annoying, the show doesn't conclude character arcs, and it focuses too much on romantic subplots. Jello much rather prefers the stories of the tertiary cast over the main story.
      • With Kingdom Hearts, Jello believes that the series' infamous Kudzu Plot makes it basically impossible to understand, the fact that the characters seem to pull sudden plot developments out of nowhere makes it annoying, and that the Ho Yay implications between multiple characters (Sora and Riku especially) are impossible to ignore. To prove the first point, Jello replaces the word "darkness" with the word "bees" throughout the video, saying that it makes just as much sense as the actual plot.invoked
      • With RWBY, Jello finds that the show has too many plotlines that go nowhere. Jello argues that the show has too many characters and no idea what to do with any of them (especially singling out Blake as being bland and uninteresting). Jello saves most of his main criticisms for the plot, saying it takes forever for the main plot to start, tries to paint Ozpin as morally grey and fails at it, and doesn't do sufficient world building for a world that really needs it. He feels the pacing of the first three volumes is flawed such that it's best to view them all as one long season, and he then says to avoid volumes 4 and 5 altogether as they are garbage.
  • Animal Motifs: The Original Characters in the hypothetical JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 9 get appropriately ridiculous outfits in the style of the series, with Joanne adorned with ladybugs, her Tagalong Kid wearing a milkman suit with a cow-patterned hat and bowtie with a cowbell, and the user of Smash Mouth having a row of sharp teeth while wearing alligator-themed clothing
  • Author Avatar: A drawn version of Jello occasionally pops into the screen to express something.
  • Author Filibuster: Jello will occasionally break character and go on a tangent when he covers a specific character or plot point he does not particular care for, such as in the Steven Universe and Gravity Falls, or if he is not fond of the series entirely like Adventure Time and Kingdom Hearts.
  • Batman Can Breathe in Space: In "So this is Sonic the Hedgehog", Jello claims that Sonic can breathe in space because there's no water around to get in the way.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Lampshaded in "So This is Basically Fire Emblem" where Jello says "killing is OK so long as it's gross people."
  • Biting-the-Hand Humor:
    • "So This is Basically Persona 5" was sponsored by Atlus, the creators of the Persona series. The whole video is an Affectionate Parody of Persona 5, but Jello was still essentially paid by Atlus to roast their game.
    • Ditto with his NIS America/Falcom sponsored Trails of Cold Steel episode.
  • Blank White Eyes: Generally the standard for character's eyes as depicted in Jello's art style, though higher-detail pictures use normal eyes.
  • Broken Aesop:
    • The Pokémon episode points out that, while the games push the idea that the titular creatures should be treated as friends and you should use the ones you love, the actual mechanics make some Pokémon objectively worse than others, and the best way to get a good one is massive amounts of inbreeding.
    • The Persona 5 episode points out how the Phantom Thieves keep questioning their "morally light-light-grey" actions, featuring Ann and Ryuji wondering if it was okay that they changed the heart of Thomas Babyeater, The Inventor of Eating Babies. The joke is of course it's okay for the Phantom Thieves to stop those kinds of criminals from doing any more crimes, yet the game keeps acting like the Phantom Thieves are not that different from their targets and somehow morally compromised.
  • Call-Back: In Trails of Cold Steel, Rean has a Thousand-Yard Stare as he's reminded of Crow, who was also apparently turned into a bird. Just like Qrow.
  • The Cameo: Sonichu makes a brief appearance in "So this is basically Sonic the Hedgehog".
  • Crazy Enough to Work: In the Sonic video, Sonic Hedgehog notices that people are making fun of him a lot. So he decides to revitalize his brand through an emphasis on humanizing the characters with humor, and adding in a dose of Self-Deprecation to him. And as Jello notes, "this actually worked", as Sonic ends up holding large wads of cash in his hands with a big smile on his face.
  • Creepy Old-Fashioned Diving Suit: One episode talks about Danny Phantom and shows a scene where Danny fights off a ghost in a diving suit saying puns as he fights, possibly being a reference to the ghost of Captain Cutler from Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!.
  • Cursed with Awesome: Lampshaded in RWBY, when Qrow explains to Ruby that he was given the power to turn into a bird. Except that it's explicitly not a curse, because he can control himself as a bird, and can switch between his human and bird forms at will. Ruby points out that this sounds exclusively beneficial, but Qrow is too into his rant to care.
  • Dead Unicorn Trope: A few of the archetype parodies in the Fire Emblem video fall into this.
    • The "red-haired mage who isn't good yet!" is close, but falls short of the mark. While "early-joining mage with bad starting stats" is fairly common in Fire Emblem, only three of them (Azelle, Ewan and Ricken) have been redheads—if there's a stereotypical hair color for early-joining mages in the series, it's probably green (Merric, Asbel, Lugh, Soren) or purple (Arthur, Erk, Lute).
    • The Evil Chancellor is a young and beautiful woman, when in the Fire Emblem franchise, the Gharnef archetype as the fandom calls them, is Always Male and typically elderly. The series is known for its usage of Females Are More Innocent, so female villains rarely get to be as devious as the male villains. According to Jello, this was due to the Vizier being a Composite Character of Nergal (a member of the Gharnef archetype) and Sonia (a minor villain) from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade.
    • There also is not a single Fire Emblem game, in the entire franchise, that has exactly four enemy generals consisting of "the fun crazy one", "the boring one", "the one that dies offscreen", and "the noble one".
  • The Dog Was the Mastermind: Parodied in the Gravity Falls episode; when Jello explains that Dipper wants to learn who wrote the journals, a musical sting plays as it zooms in on Waddles the pig.
  • Eats Babies: The Do-Crimer's targets in Persona 5 include Thomas Babyeater, the inventor of eating babies. Naturally, the thieves extensively debate if stopping him was the right choice.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: In the Persona 5 video, Sae Niijima says that Nasty Crimeboy/Joker is extremely lucky to have gotten away with his crimes for as long as he did. So she concludes that he must have had help from a leprechaun.
  • Epic Fail: In the Persona 5 video, Mishima tries to summon his Persona by tearing off his mask. Not only does it take him a few tries to do it, but he rips off part of his face and bleeds to death on the ground.
  • Everyone Has Standards: In Ace Attorney, for a split second, Prosecutor Ducky (who was last seen cheerfully calling out penalties for not keeping time with the game's logic) reacts like the killer's Insane Troll Logic that keeps a guilty verdict on the judge's mind is beyond her scope.
  • Expy:
  • Forgot About His Powers: In JoJo, he brings up how characters tend to forget about certain powers of their own stands, like Kakyoin being able to use paintings to injure Jotaro in his introduction arc. "Part 9" has Cow Hat Boy needing to be outright told to use his Stand while Joanne is being fought by Smash Mouth.
Cow Hat Boy: (crying) If only I could help her somehow...!
Bystander: Use your Stand, you idiot!
  • Funny Background Event: When Jello is talking about how Jerry from Rick and Morty is a spineless loser, a computer monitor in the background can be seen that reads, "Patient: Jerry Smith; Prescription: Euthanasia".
  • The Generic Guy: In-universe, Jello's opinion of Morty.
Jello: Brick is an amoral mad scientist and the smartest man in the universe, with enemies lurking in every corner of the galaxy! ...And Mortar is also there.
  • Hijacked by Ganon: The Trope Namer himself gets called out for this in the Legend of Zelda episode.
Jello: Ganon is always the bad guy even when he isn't. Sometimes he shows up at the end of the game to steal another villain's hard work using the darkest magic of all: plagiarism. (accompanied by Ganondorf showing a nervous Zant a "Twilight Realm Deed")
  • Hurricane of Puns: The "Typical Danny Phantom Fight Scene" illustrates this with an Original Character, Rebreather.
Danny: Change of plans: it's time for some cruise control."
Rebreather: (traps Danny in a ghostly fishing net) FOOL! You've fallen for my trap hook, line, and sinker! Now, prepare to sleep with... THE FISHES! (shoots fish skeletons at Danny)
  • Informed Attractiveness: In "So this is basically Sonic The Hedgehog", Eggman/Large Egg is described as hot. He is a bald, egg-shaped man with cartoony proportions, for those who don't know.
  • Kick the Dog: Parodied in the episode on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. In the hypothetical Part 9, Joanne is hit in the head with a tooth by the villain "Smash Mouth", but survived because before it hit her, it killed multiple dogs.
  • The Last Of These Is Not Like The Others: The main antagonists of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure are Dio, DIO again, DIO boyfriend, DIO babies, Dio but he's a dinosaur, and the United States President.
  • Late Character Syndrome: Lampshaded in Persona 5, where Haru is pushed off-screen by Sketchy Akechi because the game doesn't have time to make her a character.
  • Linear Warriors, Quadratic Wizards: One of the characters in "So This Is Basically Fire Emblem" is a "red-haired mage who isn't good yet".
  • Luke Nounverber: Persona 5 mentions a target named Thomas Babyeater.
  • Man of a Thousand Voices: Jello is a professional voice actor and it shows. He's performed near-perfect imitations of Principal Nezu, Kermit, Sora, Ruby, AND Qrow! Keep in mind that Ruby is a squeaky-voiced teenage girl and Qrow is a gravelly-voiced alcoholic in his mid-forties.
  • More Popular Spin-Off: In-Universe. Jello notes that RWBY Chibi uses the characters better than the actual series. Mind you, that's less praise towards Chibi and more damning towards the main series.
  • Negated Moment of Awesome: In the Persona 5 video, like with every other Persona awakening in the game, Mishima pulls his mask off in a spray of blood in order to summon Fawkes...and then immediately passes out from the sudden blood loss.
  • No Budget: In-Universe, Jello claims that the sudden popularity of RWBY was despite being made on "a budget of seven dollars".
  • Not Hyperbole: During the Kingdom Hearts episode, when Jello is discussing the (likely) scenario of fans of the games having lingering questions after playing, a text bubble pops up on-screen reading "Xehanort can track Sora because he has an "X" on his shirt!" While this may sound like a Non Sequitur joke answer to those not in the loop, this is an actual plot point in the games.
  • "Not Making This Up" Disclaimer: When Jello introduces Vicious in the Cowboy Bebop episode, a note below his name reads "That's not a joke, it's seriously his name".
  • Pantsless Males, Fully-Dressed Females: In the Sonic the Hedgehog episode, he points out that male Sonic characters only wear shoes, while female Sonic characters wear entire outfits. He theorizes that this is because they all have to cover up the sexiest part of the body; the toe.
  • Parody Assistance:
    • The episode on Danny Phantom had Butch Hartman, the creator of the series, designing and voicing an Original Character, Rebreather, in the style of the show's usual Monster of the Week villains.
    • The Persona 5 episode was sponsored by Atlus, the creators of the Persona series, and includes an ad for the then-recently-released Persona 5 Royal at the end of the video.
    • Ditto with the Trails of Cold Steel episode, which was sponsored by NIS America and Falcom, includes an ad read at the end for Trails of Cold Steel IV (including a giveaway for both III and IV) and even has Sean Chiplock, Xanthe Huynh, and Edward Bosco reprise their roles as Rean, Altina, and Machias respectively.
  • Paste Eater: In the Adventure Time episode, Jello claims that Adventure Time's writers come up with endings by eating glue and writing down whatever they see.
  • Replacement Scrappy: While Jello himself has the opposite opinion of her, he takes a jab at the Ace Attorney fans who consider Athena to be one for Maya, which he represents via Sal Manella holding a sign that says "Fey is BAE!". invoked
  • Rule 34: Discussed in the episode on Animal Crossing by saying that Isabelle has "a name that you shouldn't Google in the workplace", owing to large amounts of porn of the character.
  • Running Gag:
    • The frequent misnamings of characters.
    • Jello often demonstrates a character being a jerkass by depicting them attacking a dog with a jackhammer.
    • In the Pokémon episode, a mockup of the "Who's That Pokémon?" screen appears thrice, each time showing a forgotten/ridiculous Pokémon (Qwilfish, Probopass, and Alomomola) in place of an iconic one (Qwilfish replaces a silhouette of Charmander, and Probopass a silhouette of Pikachu, though Alomomola really is the third silhouetted Pokémon.)
"Shoutouts to the best Pokémon... [name]! (sunglasses descend onto the Pokémon) Keepin' it real since [inaccurate year]."
    • Throughout the Zelda episode, any mention of Link's name is replaced by one of Link's random screams or grunts. This includes uses of the word "link", such as HYAH cables or explaining how the timeline HAAAHs the games together.
    • In the Kingdom Hearts episode, he declares that you could replace the word "darkness" with "bees" and everything would make just as much sense. And then he does just that for the rest of the video: in the monologue, in the images (bees surround everything tainted by darkness), and in having darkness-infused Kermit tell Sora that he should be a beekeeper.
  • Running Gag Stumbles:
    • In the Adventure Time video, the jackhammer gag is turned on its head by having Jake the Dog be the one to use it on something (specifically, a worm).
    • Similarly, after the reveal of the massive dog slaughter in the hypothetical 9th JoJo series, one of the dead dogs is clearly shown to be lying next to a jackhammer.
  • Satellite Love Interest: Discussed in the Gravity Falls video:
Jello: After the 20th “Marble’s Crush of the Week” episode, they thought “Man, let’s not leave Dipstick out of this hot action, so they made Wendy. Guess they’re called the Pines twins cause they’re always pining after someone! (chortle) The writers actually start to use her a bit in Season 2, before realizing “Oh, no! She’s too competent! Better put her back in her box!
  • Scrappy Mechanic:
    • In-Universe, the Zelda episode brings up the series's habit of generating these.
Enjoy dealing with each installment's signature annoying mechanic, like kinstone merging, the Temple of the Ocean King, HMMM cables... all of Skyward Sword...
    • In Ace Attorney he makes fun of some of the requirements for advancing the cases.
Prosecutor Ducky: Hold on now. You can't present this banana. You need to present the PHOTO of the banana. They are completely different. PENALTY!
    • Persona 5 says that you can spend time with your friends to "unlock massive quality-of-life improvements that really have no business being optional", along with others that are "totally worthless".
  • Seasonal Rotinvoked:
    • Jello sees the later seasons of Danny Phantom as this, with the cited reasons being a weak finale, poor use of the established cast, and neglecting elements that had made the early seasons worthwhile.
    • While Jello can recommend watching the first three volumes of RWBY as a single season, he suggests people simply ask others who already watched 4 and 5 what happened so they don't have to watch garbage.
    • Jello points out that Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) was so bad that it literally retconned itself out of existence. It was at that point that fans kept mocking Sonic to the point where he decided to mock himself.
  • Self-Deprecation: Discussed with Sonic the Hedgehog. After people started endlessly mocking Sonic, Sonic Hedgehog starts mocking himself as a carnival barker so people can dunk him in a water tank, with a focus on humor to humanize him. And "somehow, this actually worked," revitalizing Sonic's brand and making Sonic a ton of money.invoked
  • Shout-Out:
    • In the Kingdom Hearts video, one of the abilities in the Birth By Sleep finisher screen is "Okay I Believe You", one of the many constantly-repeated phrase in Just a Pancake's Kingdom Hearts in a Nutshell series.
    • In the Genshin Impact video, "Nanalan'" is named as a potential new nation to explore later in the game, which is signified by a giant Monanote  looming in the distance.
  • Shown Their Work: Whether Jello is making fun of a series or praising it (usually the former), he always does his research on it so his riffs are accurate. For his video on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, he read every single volume of the manga. It took him three months.
  • Space "X": The "SPACE MAIL" from Cowboy Bebop.
  • Special Effect Failure: Jello complains about this in the RWBY video, quipping that the character models have so much clipping and clopping that they might be mistaken for horses. He's also surprised that it became such a smash hit despite looking like it had a total budget of seven dollars. invoked
  • Take That!:
    • Adventure Time, RWBY, and to a lesser extent, Kingdom Hearts are the series that Jello outright dislikes, and he picks apart the series for several flaws.
    • The Stinger of the Pokémon episode takes a shot at the Shadow Pokémon duology, which Jello isn't fond of from a gameplay perspective.
    • invoked When talking about bad mechanics in the Zelda games, Jello mentions "all of Skyward Sword" as one. He also mentions the Hyrule Historia timeline as something that "makes everything worse" and thus should be ignored, fitting with the video showing the cast as composites of all their appearances.
    • In his My Hero Academia video, he calls people who call the series Boku no Hero Academia "annoying", and tells people to stop sexualizing the cast since they're fifteen. He also picks on Class 1-B (saying they don't matter), implies that he doesn't understand why Tooru Hagakure is so popular and accuses her of not having a personality and takes a shot at people who nitpick at him. He makes a jab at the shipping in the fandom towards the end of the episode, but this one feels a bit more playful.
    • In his Kingdom Hearts video, aside from Jello not liking the series in general very much, one of the lingering questions he thinks people may have is "Why does Re:coded exist?"
    • The Star vs. the Forces of Evil video has several of these aimed at the show's first season. He calls Ferguson and Alfonso so boring and terrible that he doesn't even remember their names and asks why the network didn't think that the female leads Jackie and Jana were better characters and didn't give as much focus on them from the start. He finishes the video by praising the third season being more plot-focused, and hopes it doesn't go back to the bad stuff or focus on irrelevant things from season one (he then complains about Steven Universe doing exactly that in its own later seasons).
    • His Persona 5 video sees him taking potshots at Atlus for not allowing same sex romance options but being okay with Joker romancing adults, particularly the alcoholic Ohya.
    • His ''JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" video makes it pretty apparent that Jello has absolutely no care for Kakyoin, blatantly comparing him to being a cardboard cutout. The description of the video makes it even more apparent, as it says "stop pretending kakyoin has a personality guys"
  • Those Two Guys: You think Sonic's biggest friends are Tails, Knuckles and Amy? Nah. It's Mighty, Danica Patrick and the US President.
  • Uniqueness Decay: How Jello feels about Keyblade Wielders in his Kingdom Hearts episode. Where only one can wield them, yet there are multiple Keyblade wielders in the series he feels like these things are given away like lollipops from the dentist.
  • Viewer Pronunciation Confusion: In-universe, Jello has trouble pronouncing "Alomomola".
  • Villainy-Free Villain: In the RWBY episode, Jello says that the writers want the audience to think of Ozpin as morally gray, but "keep forgetting to have him do anything evil" to justify this.
  • The Worf Effect: In the RWBY video, Jello describes Weiss' (or "Whine's") special power as "losing every single fight she's ever been in."
