WILD/CARD
was a collaborative Let's Play group channel on YouTube featuring several YouTubers: JaidenAnimations, Alpharad, Captain Kidd
, Giwi
, gsmVoiD
, Fyrus
, sunflowersmith
, WeegeePlays
, and Vulpixie
.
On March 7, 2025, Jacob announced that the channel would be ending, as he and the other hosts always intended it to be a short term project to give more attention to the less well-known members. After 10 weeks of videos each Saturday, the channel would reach its conclusion on May 10, 2025 with the release of "9 YouTubers Attempt a Pokémon Nuzlocke
".
WILD/CARD contains examples of:
- Badass Arm-Fold: Vulpixie's default pose has her confidently crossing her arms.
- Be Careful What You Wish For: When playing Among Us, Vulpixie jokes that she wishes someone would kill her and is instantly killed.
- Butt-Monkey: Jacob gets utterly thrashed when the group plays Mario Kart 8, to his increasing despair and frustration, repeatedly getting destroyed by bad luck early on and not getting good items to recover, or getting so close to finishing first only to be attacked last-second. After only managing to win one race out of ninety-six, Jacob declares that he hates Mario Kart and will never play it again.
- Censored for Comedy: Jacob censors Miraidon in Pokémon Unite because its body is shaped like a penis.
- Colbert Bump: Invoked. When Vulpixie joined the group, Jacob introduced her by openly admitting that WILD/CARD may or may not be an excuse to shill some of his friends to his and Jaiden's much larger fanbases.
- Later revealed to be outright exploited to as far as it gets. When announcing the channel’s closure, Jacob reveals the entire point behind the channel was to cause a Colbert Bump as many times to as many of his friends as he could.
- Disproportionate Retribution: Jacob gets another player killed in Roblox Squid Game because he was annoyed by their dancing.
- Distracted by the Sexy: Jaiden jokes that she only lost in the Roblox Squid Game minigame "Red Light, Green Light" because she was distracted by another player's avatar with a big ass.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Smith's earlier videos had them use a Facecam. Starting with "I made Giwi play a CHALLENGING co-op game
", Smith would use the more familiar PNGTuber rig from now on. - Freudian Slip:
- Vulpixie accidentally says that she is very "breast" instead of blessed.
- Jacob accidentally says "I'd hit" instead of saying he got the reference after seeing Weegee's Carmelita Fox costume in Dress to Impress.
- Game Show: In two episodes, Jaiden held very strange Pokémon quiz shows.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Jaiden jokingly acts jealous and insecure when Jacob gets flowers from PeachJars while playing It Takes Two, as the two of them are pretending to be a divorcing couple during the playthrough.
- Interspecies Romance: Discussed in both of Jaiden's Pokemon Gameshows, as Jaiden asks the contestants which Pokémon they would Fuck, Marry, and Kill out of three random choices.
- Limited Animation: Jacob's avatar in "The Kirby Game You Forgot About" only has two frames of animation when speaking.
- Nightmare Fetishist: Continuing a trend of hers first pointed out in her Digimon video, Jaiden has a tendency of picking edgy characters, with a notable example being Dry Bowser in Mario Kart 8.
- Playing Card Motifs: The channel's name is inspired by playing cards, and its logo features a spade and a heart.
- Reaction Video: Multiple members of WILD/CARD reacted to a Pokémon Presents Presentation for a video.
- Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: Fyrus and Vulpixie share this dynamic in videos featuring just the two of them, with Fyrus being a careful planner who serves as the voice of reason and Vulpixie being much more gung-ho and excitable.
- Sequencing Deception: "Attempting the 'Hardest' Pokémon Challenge" features a race between Alpharad and Captain Kidd to beat a Pokémon Hardcore Nuzlocke. Although the video makes it seem like they are neck and neck the entire race, the clips were actually shown out of order and it is revealed at the end that Captain Kidd won two hours before Alpharad.
- Sixth Ranger: Vulpixie wasn't part of the starting roster, first being added to the channel in "We Finally played Prop Hunt again, but...
". - Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Despite Jacob being the channel runner, Smith has the most consistent track record for appearing in videos, to the point that the others sometimes jokingly refer to the channel as "Smith & Friends".
- Stunned Silence: Giwi is left slack-jawed by Jaiden asking "What Pokémon goons to big tiddy anime girls?" in "Jaiden hosted another Pokémon Gameshow...".
- Take That!: When Smith says that "J.K. Rowling is bad at writing names", the words appearing on the screen say "sentences you can stop one word earlier".
- Taking You with Me: Jacob intentionally lets himself die during the Roblox Squid Game minigame "Mingle" in order to take out other players.
- That Came Out Wrong: When playing Pico Park, the gang nicknames the white character "Cum Guy". At one point, Jaiden says that "Cum Guy is always in my face", to which Giwi points out she probably shouldn't say.
- Title Drop: Happens whenever they play a Wild Card in UNO.
- Town Girls: Jaiden is the neither, Giwi is the butch, and Vulpixie is the femme.
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: In-Universe. Jacob and Jaiden find Cody and May from It Takes Two to be very unlikeable, complaining about how terrible they are to each other and their daughter and think that they would be better off getting divorced. Jaiden and Jacob are especially angry at them after they murder Cutie.
- Virtual YouTuber: Jaiden, Giwi, and Vulpixie all use VTuber models, whereas Smith (and, interchangeably, Jacob) uses a PNGTuber rig.
- The Worm That Walks: Giwi's backstory is that she's a worm from Hell that ended up possessing a fish, only for that fish to be made into sushi and be eaten, resulting in her possessing a human body through that fish.
