WE ARE VOX MONSTERS!
VOMS Project (short for "VOX Monsters, often stylized as #voms_project) is a group of independent Virtual YouTubers created by GYARI, a Vocaloid producer and artist. At launch, the group consisted of three Cute Monster Girls: Hikasa Tomoshika, a fire-type monster girl with a keen sense of humor, Amano Pikamee, a thunder-type monster girl with a hyperactive personality and skill in both Japanese and English, and Jitomi Monoe, a magnet-type monster girl with a stoic personality. They debuted on Youtube in March 2020. In September 2021, two new members of VOMS Project were introduced: Haneuzu Miuneru and Daimonji Ryugon. They debuted on October 3rd. In October 2023, three new members would be introduced: Uemine Noruju, Zengaku Sanparo, and Michimata Batoya. All of them debuted on November 29th.

On February 2021, Monoe was released from VOMS Project effective immediately due to a "breach of contract". While her channel videos have since become private, all collaborative videos and fan content, as well as her website profile and Twitter were allowed to remain up. A fanmade archive channel was also created to ensure her streams wouldn’t be lost.

On March 1, 2023, it was announced that Pikamee would be graduating from the group on March 31, with all things related to her ceasing on that date. Like Monoe before her, all of Pikamee's vods and videos were privated on that date (though, in this case, it was by her own request) and her Twitter and other social media was wiped.

VOMS Project provides examples of:

  • Achilles' Heel: In their character lore, each of the VOMS monsters has one feature that, if interacted with, will instantly kill them. Thus, if anyone ever removed Pikamee's headband, Monoe's magnets, Miuneru's hair-spinners, or Ryugon's nose sticker, or if the flame on Tomoshika's head was ever extinguished, they would immediately die.
  • Big Guy, Little Guy: Pikamee and Tomoshika follow this dynamic with their anniversary designs, where Tomoshika retains her traditionally realistic and mature proportions, but Pikamee was shrunken down to chibi levels.
  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: Pikamee, Monoe, and Tomoshika, respectively.
  • Crossover: Due to them being a group of independent VTubers, they frequently end up collaborating with various other VTubers, both corporation-based ones like hololive and other independents:
    • All three members of the first gen frequently interact with members of Hololive, in particular having close connections to those in Holostars and Hololive Indonesia.
    • Pikamee and Hana Macchia from Nijisanji have appeared on each other's channels multiple times due to their mutual appreciation for each other.
    • The absolute pinnacle of this has been Pikamee's various collabs for Among Us, Project Winter, and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, each of which boast large and colorful casts of VTubers from across the internet, both corporate and independent, including a few collabs with Kizuna AI.
    • Ryugon and Pikamee have collaborated a lot with Kson On Air starting in late 2021, owing to their appearances on GMMFnote  and Pikamee and Kson becoming mutuals on Twitter.
  • "Freaky Friday" Flip: For April Fools 2020, the VOMS girls played out a skit where Pikamee and Monoe swapped bodies.
  • Freudian Slip: Unintentionally due to not actually knowing what the words mean. Tomoshika tried writing a letter to her audience in English to the best of her ability, but managed to misspell "handwriting" as "handjob". Her chat noticed this and pointed it out to her, causing her to hastily correct her mistake. She later joked about her mistake in the thumbnail for her next stream by censoring the word as "handXXX", only for someone to point out to her what "XXX" really means, causing her to change the censored word to "hand***".
  • Genki Girl: Tomoshika and Pikamee have energy to spare.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: During the Fall Guys stream, Pikamee's constant attempts to hold down Monoe and Tomoshika often end with her eliminated from the round.
  • Meme Acknowledgement: After the "Let's kill da ho!" incident on Minecraft, Pikamee and Tomoshika went to re-enact the scene from Part 4.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Averted within VOMS. Every member is rendered in a flat, cel-shaded style reminiscent of Gyari's MVs. Played straight in collab stream with members outside of VOMS, where that flat, cel-shaded style makes the VOMS stand out against the more illustrative styles of other VTuber avatars.
  • The Noseless: None of the VOMS monsters have a visible nose due to their flat art style. Daimonji has a star-shaped sticker over where his nose would be, but still no real nose.
  • The Teaser: Every member of VOMS gets an opening video with a three minute counter with a soft musical number that grows in intensity as the counter lowers. At one minute, the music swells and shows an outline of the new VOMS member before hitting a crescendo and fully revealing the VOMS member and their name along with a description of their elemental type. Pikamee, Tomishika, and Monoe shared a similar opening and both Miuneru and Ryugon shared a new version of the opening. This was also done again for Tomishika and Pikamee as a joke during a redebut where Pikamee sings her lyricless opening by making nonsense noises and Tomishika screams and makes other noises alongside explosions. Gyari edited and designed the music for both to hype watchers for the beginning of the careers of these V-Tubers.
  • Older Than They Look: All of the VOMS monsters look young, but their ages are listed as "adult, but unknown". Pikamee herself said she was five trillion and one years old when she debuted.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Monoe was the blue oni, with Tomoshika being the red oni. Pikamee straddled the line between the two, being the blue oni to Tomoshika and the red oni to Monoe. In the second generation, Miuneru is the blue oni to Ryugon’s red (color palettes notwithstanding).
