- Batman Cold Open: The video starts with the Penguins stopping Nana from saying the N-word.

- Failure-to-Save Murder: Subverted. Barack Obama seemingly wants to kill the Penguins because they failed to prevent Michelle Obama's death, but this turns out to be Donald Trump hijacking Barack's body.
- Faux Affably Evil: Donald Trump refers to Skipper as "my son", but it's clearly just to try and manipulate him.
- Foreshadowing: Obama manages to blow up the Penguins' ship by saying the N-word, which seems odd since Obama is black and thus can say the N-word with no consequences. Turns out it's actually Donald Trump.
- Grand Theft Me: Skipper discovers that Donald Trump took over Barack Obama's body so he could freely say the N-word. Trump is removed from Obama's body with Skipper realizing that making inside of a another man would make him gay.
- Heteronormative Crusader: Donald Trump is shown to be extremely intolerant of homosexuality, a fact that Skipper exploits to finally defeat him.
- Incoming Ham: Both Donald Trump and Martin Luther King Jr. make sudden appearances by announcing "Not if I have anything to say about it, and I do!"
- Insane Troll Logic: The penguins use this to defeat Donald Trump by pointing out that by possessing the body of Barack Obama, Trump is inside of another man, thus making him gay. Trump immediately explodes at this revelation.
- Late-Arrival Spoiler: Due to having been re-uploaded under different titles, the video is often referred to as The Penguins of Madagascar Obtain the N-Word Pass, spoiling something that only happens at the very end of the video.
- N-Word Privileges: The penguins actively try to stop stop white people from saying the N-word, and Donald Trump's ultimate plan is possessing Barack Obama's body is so he can say the N-word without consequence. At the end, Barack Obama awards Skipper with an N-word pass for stopping racism, granting him N-word privileges.
- Out-of-Character Alert: After Barack Obama takes out the Penguins' aircraft by saying the N-word, Kowalski says that Barack Obama would never say the N-word, which clues Skipper in that it's actually Donald Trump possessing his body.
