Super Power Beat Down is a live-action Web Video series focused on bringing two fighters from assorted media into battle against each other. The victors are decided by popular vote.

Super Power Beat Down provides examples of:

  • Agony of the Feet: When Boba Fett twists Star-Lord's arm and shoves him against a wall, he escapes by stepping on Fett's foot.
  • An Arm and a Leg:
    • Gandalf cuts off Darth Vader's right hand.
    • During their battle, Iron Man manages to blast off Optimus' right arm with his repulsors. Later, after the Colony Drop, Optimus loses his left leg.
  • Artistic License: Darth Vader was allowed to use Force Lightning in his battle against Gandalf even though he doesn't in canon.
  • Art Shift:
  • Ascended Fanboy:
    • Casey Jones mocks Kick-Ass for being this, telling him to "Say 'ComiCon'" when he has him in a choke hold at one point and calling him a "Punk-ass bitch Brony" in another.
    • Played straight with Deadpool Squeeing over Batman, even while trying to kill him.
  • Audience? What Audience?: Strangely, Joker, who's normally able to break the fourth wall, does this. When Deadpool waves at the audience, Joker turns to the screen and squints in confusion.
  • Author Appeal: Since it's done by a group called Bat in the Sun, Batman and affiliates make up a large fraction of the fights (43.75% to be exact. Or 50% if we count Joker and Harley as separate combatants).
  • Badass Boast:
    Darth Vader: You underestimated me.
Batman: I underestimate nothing. [draws a lightsaber]
  • The Bad Guy Wins:
    • Darth Vader kills Gandalf and claims the One Ring from the hobbit he was accompanying.
    • The Empire captures Superman, and Darth Vader personally executes Batman when he tries to rescue the Kryptonian.
  • Batman Gambit:
    • Batman using the EMP to disable Vader's life support. When Vader tells Batman that the Force will sustain him, Batman tells him he's counting on that, knowing he's just leveled the playing field a bit to fight Vader. The alternate ending reveals that Batman's fight was this, keeping Vader busy long enough for Superman's kryptonite cage to be disabled and Superman to save Batman.
    • Joker keeps laughing in Negan's face, enraging him more and more throughout their fight. In the end he plays along with Negan's attempt to make him Say My Name... long enough to slip on his Electric Joybuzzer and fry him.
  • Battle in the Rain: The second part of "Nightwing vs. Gambit", as they exit the building, is under a downpour. Gambit immediately assumes it's Storm's handiwork.
  • Beam-O-War:
    • Between Vader's Force Lightning and Gandalf's magical blast. The Force Lightning wins and knocks Gandalf down.
    • Between Superman's heat vision and Thor's lightning. Thor's lightning wins and knocks Superman down.
  • Behemoth Battle: "Godzilla vs. Dragonzord", naturally. Happens at the harbor of a city and causes lots of collateral damage to the surrounding buildings.
  • Beware the Nice Ones:
    • Superman gets really pissed in his fight vs. Thor and towards Darth Vader in the alternate Batman/Darth Vader ending.
    • The series perfectly shows how dangerous Spider-Man can be. During his fight with Darth Maul, he uses his Spider-Sense and agility to constantly dodge a Force user's lightsaber attacks. However, when the Symbiote bonds with Spidey again, The Gloves Come Off and it doesn't take Spidey three seconds to use his senses and agility to have Maul cut off his own head.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Superman blind sides Darth Vader after bursting through sections of the Death Star in the alternate ending to Lord Vader's fight with Batman.
  • Blade Lock:
    • Darth Vader and Gandalf get into one, only for Vader to punch him away with his free hand.
    • Darth Vader and Batman get into one. This time, Batman punches him.
  • Blasting It Out of Their Hands: Boba Fett shoots both of Star-Lord's guns and forces him to drop them because of the pain.
  • Bond One-Liner:
    • After defeating Scorpion, Tommy says, "Game Over!"
    • After defeating Ryu, Tommy says "Welcome to my nightmare."
    • After Kick-Ass is hit by a train, Casey says, "You should have trained harder!"
    • After killing Iron Man, Optimus Prime says, "That's just prime."
    • Nightwing gives a premature one after he thinks he's already defeated the Winter Soldier, "Looks like winter ended early."
    • After Wonder Woman kills Wolverine by throwing him into lava, she says, "Heal from that."
    • After Flashpoint Batman kills Killmonger using a train, he says, "Sometimes, the light at the end of the tunnel, leads to Hell."
  • Boom, Headshot!:
    • Domino kills the Joker this way, by also shooting through Deadpool's head with the knowledge that he'll recover.
    • How Master Chief kills Captain America in his winning video.
    • How Deadpool defeats Deathstroke.
  • Bottle Episode: The "Waiting Room" shorts qualify as this.
  • Bound and Gagged:
    • Catwoman is chained to a chair during the "Batman vs. Deadpool" battle. She's freed herself by the time Batman finishes with Deadpool.
    • "The Joker & Harley Quinn vs. Deadpool & Domino" begins with a man waking up bound and gagged before Joker kills him.
    • Darth Maul kidnaps Mary-Jane and ties her up to lure Spider-Man to him.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall:
    • As usual, Deadpool has no respect for the Fourth Wall. During his battle against Batman, he does an Aside Comment: "Tweet that, bitches! Winning!"note  During the battle against Joker and Harley, he comments on how Marvel is owned by Disney, waves to the audience, and even pulls out an iPad and votes on the battle itself on Bat in the Sun's website.
    • Again when Deadpool is taunting Deathstroke over trying to complete his contract dealing with him, he claims he's just been dragging his feet before turning to the screen and admonishing Bat in the Sun for their own feet dragging.
  • Bring It: Uttered verbatim by Symbiote Spider-Man.
  • Bullet Time: Max Payne is able to take advantage of it during the four-way fight, although Connor's Assassin training allows him to dodge his shots.
  • The Cameo:
    • Jay Tavare plays a masked man ("I'm too old for this...") in the "Ryu vs. Green Ranger" fight. He previously played Vega (yet another masked man) in the 1994 Street Fighter movie.
    • Johnny Yong Bosch shows up in the outtakes of the Ryu/Green Ranger fight, taking a selfie over Ryu's defeated body, as well as in the fight's alternate ending as Adam Park to challenge Ryu.
    • Indiana Jones appears when Nathan asks who Sully is sending to help him recover the King's Skull in the epilogue.
    • Stan Lee appears as a neighbor who hears Spider-Man and Darth Maul's fight and obliviously yells at them to keep it down.
    • Jamie Hyneman is asked his opinion on the Darth Maul/Spider-Man fight.
    • Pennywise appears at the end of Joker and Negan's fight.
    • Hal Jordan shows up to get his ring back after Star-Lord kills Boba Fett.
  • Casual Danger Dialogue: Iron Man, in full Robert Downey Jr. style, makes small talk with J.A.R.V.I.S. while fighting Optimus Prime.
  • The Cavalry: In the alternate ending of Iron Man vs. Optimus Prime, Tony calls in the Iron Legion to deliver the killing blow.
  • The Coats Are Off: Darth Maul takes off his black coat for the final bout of his fight against Spider-Man.
  • Colony Drop: Optimus beats Iron Man with a piece of Tony's Kill Sat no less.
  • Conveniently Timed Attack from Behind: After defeating Negan, an utterly spent Joker is suddenly threatened by Pennywise. Before Pennywise can attack, Harley Quinn knocks him out with her baseball bat.
  • Crowbar Combatant:
    • The Joker beats up a drugged Deadpool with a crowbar. Naturally, he can't resist the Mythology Gag:
    • He also wields one fighting Negan.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Symbiote Spider-Man doesn't waste three seconds killing Darth Maul.
    • In terms of results, the Joker is the most lopsided polling result in the show's history at 71% in his favor, while most fights land somewhere in the 50s, with the occasional 60-64 in the winner's favor. Thomas Wayne beat him with a 72% vote.
  • Cutting the Knot: Killmonger's suit is indestructible, so Flashpoint Batman attacks the man inside by exposing him to both Scarecrow's fear toxin and Poison Ivy's poisons.
  • Damsel in Distress:
    • The premise for the "Deadpool vs. Batman" fight is that Deadpool kidnapped Catwoman in order to provoke Batman.
    • Gender Flip with Superman as a Dude in Distress that Batman has to save from Darth Vader and Darkseid.
    • Darth Maul kidnaps Mary-Jane to lure Spider-Man to him, and bring the alien symbiote in exchange for her safety.
  • David Versus Goliath: The 6-foot-tall Iron Man is fighting against 28-foot-tall Optimus Prime. This isn't changed much when Iron Man puts on the Hulkbuster Armor. Prime takes the, close, winning vote.
  • Deadly Dodging:
    • Played with in the "Batman vs. Wolverine" fight. Played straight when Batman sidesteps Wolverine at one point and causes him to stab his claws into a circuit breaker, electrocuting the mutant. Subverted when Wolverine is able to recover and dispatch Batman, explaining that he heals real fast.
    • The Joker sidesteps one of the drugged Deadpool's attacks and it makes him crash headfirst into a window.
  • Decapitation Presentation: While waiting for Batman to arrive, Deadpool shows Catwoman Deathstroke's head.
  • Designated Girl Fight: Invoked, Domino tells Deadpool to let her handle Harley because Deadpool is too easily distracted. Of course Deadpool ends up fighting her anyway... and Domino was right.
  • Destination Defenestration:
    • Darth Vader Force-throws Batman out a window overlooking the Death Star's hangar, but his Batwing catches him.
    • Darth Maul throws Spider-Man out of the warehouse by a window with telekinesis after destroying his webshooters. Since Spidey can't cast a webline to stop his fall, he lands rather hard.
  • Detachment Combat: After Deathstroke blows Deadpool to bits, Deadpool still wins because he is able to control his hand and have it pick up a gun and shoot Deathstroke.
  • Diabolus ex Machina: When Michael Myers knocks down the Look-See and is about to stab it, a Predator appears out of nowhere and obliterates Michael with its plasma caster while the Look-See escapes.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Deadpool is distracted by Harley this way twice in "Deadpool & Domino vs. Joker & Harley Quinn". Even happens when Domino is explaining why Deadpool is to watch Joker while she goes after Harley Quinn (for this exact reason).
  • Distressed Dude: Rather than nab his girlfriend Vanessa to lure Deadpool into a fight, Deathstroke kidnaps... Santa Claus. Of course, it works.
  • Drama-Preserving Handicap: Invoked: Batman shorts out Darth Vader's suit so he'll have to put most of his Force powers into keeping himself breathing rather than against Batman.
  • Dramatic Unmask: At the end of White Ranger vs. Scorpion, after felling Scorpion, the White Ranger removes his helmet, revealing his suit actor to be Jason David Frank, the original White Ranger from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.
  • Electric Joybuzzer:
    • The Joker uses his against Deadpool. Of course, being Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth survives.
    • He also uses it against Negan. Unlike Deadpool, Negan is a completely normal man and ends up a fried corpse as a result.
  • EMP: Batman uses a device to generate an EMP and short out Darth Vader's suit. This forces Vader to devote most of his Force concentration to allowing himself to breathe, which allows Batman to fight him directly. Vader eventually manages to reset his suit, and he is then able to use the Force to defeat Batman.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Even the Joker is weirded out by Deadpool's antics.
  • Excuse Plot:
    • Darth Vader flies down to Middle Earth, confronts Gandalf and the hobbit, and demands the One Ring.
    • Batman sees Wolverine gutting an unidentified man with his claws and confronts him.
    • Nathan Drake steals an artifact from a temple. Lara Croft arrives and demands the artifact.
    • Gambit steals from Wayne Enterprises and Nightwing confronts him.
    • Connor Kenway, Lee Everett, Vaas Montenegro, and Max Payne wake up in a dark room with no memory of how they got there. Cortana appears and says they have been chosen to see which of them is the greatest killer. They agree and start fighting each other.
    • Thor comes down to Earth and challenges Superman to a fight to see which of them is the greater warrior. Superman tries to decline, but Thor attacks him.
    • Deadpool kidnaps Catwoman to use as bait specifically to goad Batman into a fight.
    • Wolverine traverses the Columbian jungle, presumably on a mission, when he gets stalked and attacked by the Predator.
    • Scorpion attacks a woman and demands to know where the White Ranger is. She doesn't know, but the White Ranger shows up to stop him.
    • Captain America and Master Chief are assigned by their superiors to kill each other.
    • Punisher seeks out the Red Hood to kill him, seeing him as just another criminal he needs to punish.
    • Kick-Ass sees Casey Jones and thinks he's a criminal. Casey laughs off the goofy-looking teen and tries to leave, but Kick-Ass won't let him.
    • The Empire has captured Superman thanks to Boba Fett using kryptonite and is intending to use him as a bargaining chip to forge an alliance with Darkseid. Batman infiltrates the Death Star and attempts to rescue him, but Darth Vader intercepts him.
    • Ryu is street fighting in an alley for money. After defeating challenger after challenger, the referee asks if there is anybody else. Tommy Oliver teleports in and accepts the challenge.
    • Deadpool and Domino break into Joker's hideout and demand the antidote to the poison Joker infected most of the city with. Joker informs them that he only knows half of the formula while Harley Quinn knows the other half, so a fight breaks out.
    • Darth Sidious orders Darth Maul to travel to Earth and retrieve the Venom Symbiote. Maul kidnaps Mary-Jane to try to force Spider-Man to deliver it to him. Instead, Spider-Man attacks him.
    • JARVIS detects an unstable energy signal. When Tony investigates, he finds Optimus, whom he tries to convince to come back to his lab for a diagnostic, since he seems to be carrying hazardous material in his trailer. Optimus, aware of Tony's reputation, refuses. Things get ugly when Tony hacks into Optimus' mind and swipes some data.
    • The Winter Soldier is ordered to assassinate Nightwing. Oracle finds out about the hit and warns Nightwing, so he is ready when Winter Soldier attacks.
    • Wolverine is sent on a mission to infiltrate Themyscira (since Cyclops doesn't like him, he drops him out of the plane without a parachute or equipment). Wonder Woman intercepts him and says men are not allowed on the island, then attacks when Wolverine refuses to leave.
    • Spider-Man 2099 breaks into a Wayne Enterprises tower and Batman Beyond intercepts him. Spider-Man claims he has his reasons, but doesn't explain what they are.
    • Star-Lord and Boba Fett are fighting over the bounty for a Green Lantern ring.
    • The Joker and Negan had intended to forge an alliance, but Joker's gang had just been killed by the zombies. Instead, they challenge each other to a duel, which Harley Quinn broadcasts to the Internet. If Joker wins, he gets control of Negan's gang. If Negan wins, he gets the Joker's hideout and Harley's services.
    • The Joker locks several employees of Arkham Asylum inside and reveals he has released Michael Myers and the Look-See to have a Body-Count Competition between them. The two play the game at first, but eventually attack each other.
    • Deathstroke has been hired to kill Deadpool. Knowing he'd have to do something really silly to get Deadpool's attention, he kidnaps Santa Claus. Deadpool is infuriated because he had asked Santa to get a Christmas present for his girlfriend Vanessa.
    • Killmonger murders Bane and two cops to lure in Flashpoint Batman. When Batman arrives, Killmonger says that Ra's al Ghul brought him back with the Lazarus Pit, and now he wants to kill Batman to prove that he is the best. Batman suggests that the exposure to the Lazarus Pit has driven Killmonger insane, since his actions are different from his usual M.O.
    • Black Widow seduces a man in his hotel room before murdering him to access the data on his laptop. Oracle has been monitoring her and directs Black Canary to intercept her on her way out.
    • Godzilla attacks a city. The Green Ranger battles him with the Dragonzord while mistaking him for one of Rita Repulsa's monsters.
  • Explaining Your Power to the Enemy:
    • Before they fight, Deadpool boasts about his inability to die and even demonstrates by shooting himself in the head. Naturally, this backfires because it means Batman doesn't have to hold back.
      Deadpool: I told you. I. Can't. Die.
      Batman: I'm counting on that.
    • Wolverine is forced to do this by Wonder Woman's magic lasso, revealing he has an indestructible skeleton and Healing Factor to her.
  • Failed Attempt at Drama: Happens to Deadpool, not too surprisingly. As he makes his entrance at the warehouse to fight Deathstroke, the iron curtain slowly rises up with ominous music... until it gets stuck at knee height, forcing Deadpool to crawl underneath.
    Deadpool: What? Come on!... seriously...
  • Family-Unfriendly Death: The deciding blows can get pretty graphic.
    • Deadpool is turned into paste.
    • Gandalf cut in half.
    • Red Hood's throat is impaled with a knife and there is significant blood.
    • Casey throws Kick-Ass in front of a passing train, turning him into mush.
    • Spider-Man uses his webbing to make Darth Maul decapitate himself with his own lightsaber.
  • Fanservice:
    • The female host bets whether the '80s Batmobile will outperform the '60s. She loses and has to scrub them in a bikini.
    • The girls also bet the boys on Batman vs Wolverine. The girls lose, and must have a pillow fight dressed in "sexy super outfits." note
    • "Wonder Woman vs. Wolverine" shows Wonder Woman skinny dipping.
    • "Deadpool vs. Deathstroke" begins with Deadpool playing with his girlfriend Vanessa, who is in a bikini, at the beach.
  • Feel No Pain: Or rather, less of it. The Joker's canonical insanity-based pain resistance comes into play fighting Negan and he's clearly less hindered by the pain of his injuries as Negan is by his. As a result, Negan stops short while pummeling him and ends up getting flash fried by the Joker's signature Electric Joybuzzer as a result.
  • Foo Fu: Deadpool uses a rubber chicken as a weapon at one point and calls it "Cluck-fu".
  • Foreshadowing: While waiting for Batman to arrive, Deadpool shows Catwoman Deathstroke's head. Deadpool finds himself in the same predicament after Batman dispatches him. His head still can talk, though.
  • Glove Snap: When Joker is about to finish off Deadpool with acid, he puts on rubber gloves and makes them snap.
Joker: But don't worry, you're in good hands with Uncle Joker...
  • Gory Discretion Shot: "The Joker & Harley Quinn vs. Deadpool & Domino" begins with Joker murdering a tied-up man by sawing off his head. The camera cuts away when he starts.
  • Graceful Loser:
    • Nathan doesn't mind losing to Lara. At all.
    • Deadpool, er, Deadpool's head isn't too fazed losing to Bats. He asks him for some chimichangas if he gets the chance.
  • Gratuitous Japanese: When Deathstroke prepares to face Deadpool in a sword fight, he speaks in unsubtitled Japanese. Being Deadpool, he responds by speaking random words like chow mein.
  • Gratuitous Russian: Black Widow quotes a Russian proverb, when giving Winter Soldier his assignment in "Winter Soldier vs. Nightwing". As he's leaving, he turns around and tells her he's not a fool, also in Russian. Bonus points for using proper Russian. note
  • Groin Attack:
    • Red Hood knees Punisher in the groin.
    • When Casey Jones pins Kick-Ass against a pillar, Kick-Ass escapes by kneeing him several times in the groin. Casey staggers away muttering, "Not cool, bro!"
    • Harley Quinn hits Deadpool in the groin with a baseball bat.
    • Star-Lord punching Fett in the balls.
Star-Lord: You know what my favorite movie is? Spaceballs!
  • Gun Kata:
    • Red Hood and The Punisher engage in this during their fight, with Red Hood even doing a Wall Run while still grappling for control of both the Punisher's gun and his own.
    • Domino and Harley end up in a gun kata duel until they knock each other's guns away.
  • Head Turned Backwards: Deadpool has this problem after a Neck Snap from Batman. He then just snaps his head back into place.
  • High-Voltage Death: The Joker manages to grab Negan with his signature Electric Joybuzzer. He doesn't let go until Negan is nothing more than a fried corpse.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Spider-Man snares Darth Maul's arm with a webline and makes him decapitate himself.
  • Hoist Hero over Head: Casey Jones lifts Kick-Ass before slamming him down.
  • Holding Back the Phlebotinum: Batman disabling Darth Vader's life support system, forcing him to use the Force to keep himself alive.
  • Hologram: When they confront each other, Deadpool tries to shoot Deathstroke almost immediately, but it turns out to just be a hologram to distract him.
  • How Much More Can He Take?: While several fights have some durability testing, Iron Man vs. Optimus Prime takes this to the extreme. Iron Man gets blown off to 30% of his energy and gets hit by massive oil tank explosions that shreds him off from the Hulkbuster armor and sends him to 2% energy, getting his armor wrecked. Meanwhile, Optimus Prime constantly gets beaten up by the Hulkbuster, loses his right hand, and gets hit by an explosion from a satellite's self-destruction. In the end, Optimus manages to tank himself falling to the ground with a satellite piece to destroy Iron Man with, surviving long enough to win against him.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Directly after being chided by Domino for staring at her chest, Deadpool punches out Joker while the latter is staring at the departing Domino's ass.
  • I Call It "Vera": Tony Stark calls a Kill Sat "Lucy" ("in the Sky with Diamonds").
  • "I Know You Are in There Somewhere" Fight: Gandalf tries to beat Vader by persuading him that wielding the ring would destroy the good Anakin inside him. It almost works, but just as Gandalf is about to finish Vader off, Vader is able to use the Force to recover his lightsaber and win the fight anyway.
  • I Will Show You X!: When Superman knocks Thor back with his Super-Breath, Thor goes, "Wind!? I will show you the elements!" before unleashing lightning.
  • Immortal Life Is Cheap: Deadpool makes the mistake of bragging about his Healing Factor to Batman, who normally tries not to kill his enemies.
  • Impairment Shot: Deadpool's vision is shown blurry when Joker shoots him with drugged darts.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Deadpool pulls out a rubber chicken and Harley makes fun of him for it, until he uses it to choke her to death.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Wolverine mutters "I need a beer..." after defeating the Predator.
  • Ironic Echo: In "Deadpool vs. Deathstroke", Deadpool realizes the unmasked talking hologram of Deathstroke is just a distraction and replies "Wait a minute, you're distracting me!" This ends up being Deathstroke's last words as he realizes Deadpool's talk about the Arrowverse is just a distraction a split second before he's shot in the head.
  • I Warned You: In "Iron Man vs. Optimus Prime", who else but...
Jarvis: I would hate to be the one to say "I told you so..."
Tony Stark: No, you won't, Jarvis.
  • Kill It with Fire: This is how Wonder Woman finishes off Wolverine, by throwing him into a volcano, betting that will be too much for his Healing Factor.
  • Kill Sat: Iron Man calls on "Lucy" ("in the Sky with Diamonds"), an orbital weapon station that fire a massive laser at Optimus Prime. It backfires badly.
  • Let's Fight Like Gentlemen: Joker and Negan agree to fight without guns or explosives. Naturally, Joker eventually pulls out his Tommy Gun. Harley Quinn calls him naughty-naughty for this, and he replies "Here's a shocker: I'm cheating."
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: In "Spider-Man vs. Darth Maul": Spidey spends most of the fight cracking wise, but after the symbiote merges with him, he becomes much more stoic and has no qualms with decapitating Maul with his own lightsaber.
  • Let's You and Him Fight:
    • Kick-Ass attacks Casey Jones thinking he is a criminal, and ignores Casey's attempts to walk away from the fight.
    • Superman explicitly tells Thor he isn't interested in fighting. Thor essentially tells him, "Tough shit, let's go."
  • Logical Weakness: To counter Black Canary's Sonic Scream, Black Widow relies on a throat punch as soon as she gets close enough, which neutralizes the power for most of the fight.
  • Look Behind You:
    • Lara tells Nathan that there's a snake behind him and walks away. He says he won't fall for that, but there really is a rattlesnake behind him and he barely avoids it.
    • Joker believes he has defeated Negan and celebrates. Harley Quinn warns him to look behind him because Negan is getting up. Joker yells at her to never interrupt him, but turns around in time.
  • Made of Indestructium:
    • Wolverine's claws cannot cut through Wonder Woman's bracelets nor her magic lasso.
    • Killmonger's Vibranium suit cannot be damaged.
  • Malicious Misnaming: Joker calls Deadpool names like Deadman, Deadpoop, and Deadmeat.
  • Man Bites Man:
    • When Casey Jones puts Kick-Ass in a sleeper hold, Kick-Ass escapes by biting his arm.
    • Joker bites Negan's hand to escape from a hold.
  • Mech vs. Beast: "Godzilla vs. Dragonzord". The King of the Monsters versus one of the most powerful Power Rangers Zords.
  • Mêlée à Trois: The "Assassin's Creed vs. The Walking Dead vs. Far Cry 3 vs. Max Payne" episode is a Mêlée à Quatre, with a few opponent switches along the ride.
  • My Eyes Are Up Here:
    • While holding her captive, Deadpool stares at Catwoman's cleavage. Annoyed, she says this line. He doesn't listen. He takes pics instead.
    • In a later episode, Domino has to scold Deadpool, again, for staring at her boobs.
  • Neck Snap:
    • Batman snaps Deadpool's neck. Thanks to his Healing Factor, it only slows him down from a few seconds.
    • Darth Vader uses the Force to finish off Batman this way.
    • After knocking Winter Soldier against a concrete ramp, Nightwing kicks him in the face hard enough to force his head back and break his neck. In the alternate ending, Winter Soldier grabs Nightwing from behind and snaps his neck with his hands.
    • In the alternate ending, Negan breaks Joker's neck.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Deadpool and Domino end up killing Joker and Harley and leave triumphantly, completely forgetting about the antidote they needed to save the city.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Darth Maul Force-Grabs Spider-Man and slams him into the ground several times until he's practically crippled with pain, but this also breaks the canister holding the Venom Symbiote. The Symbiote bonds with Spider-Man, which revives him and removes his reluctance to kill his opponent.
  • Nonchalant Dodge: Superman does this against Thor a few times. Then Thor manages to hit him and he's forced to get serious.
  • Non-Lethal K.O.:
    • Lara only wants the king's skull, so once she's able to kick the skull out of Nathan's hands, jump down the cliff, and retrieve the skull, she leaves without further harming Nathan.
    • Nightwing wins his fight against Gambit by knocking him unconscious with a series of martial arts moves, rather than killing him.
    • Superman flies into Thor from space, which merely knocks the God of Thunder unconscious. Similarly, in the alternate ending of Batman vs. Darth Vader, Supes finishes off Vader this way as well.
    • Due to Deadpool's healing factor, the same holds true for him, as despite being blown up graphically, Batman knew full well he could take a lot more than that.
    • Wonder Woman wins her fight by tossing the nearly indestructible Wolverine into lava. Wolverine has survived dips in lava and far worse, like a point blank nuke.
    • Spider-Man 2099 gets electrocuted into unconsciousness and Batman Beyond arrests him.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: Star-Lord tries his "let's dance-off!" distraction against Boba Fett. He is shot a second later.
    Boba Fett: I hate dancing.
  • Noodle Incident: We never find out who that guy was that Wolverine stabbed, which is what first prompted Batman to attack Wolverine. Either the guy was a criminal, painting Wolverine as a Well-Intentioned Extremist, or he was a civilian, which would then result in an Out-of-Character Moment.
  • Not a Game: Darth Maul yells this when Spider-Man won't stop quipping.
  • Off-the-Shelf FX: The Green Ranger vs. Ryu fight has Tommy using a Legacy Power Morpher toy by Bandai.
  • Off with His Head!:
    • How Spider-Man kills Darth Maul.
    • Symbiote Darth Maul returns the favor in the Revised Ending.
    • Flashpoint Batman holds Killmonger in place so his head is taken off by a train.
    • Godzilla bites the Dragonzord's head off.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Deadpool when he sees the Batmobile's big guns being brandished.
    • Wolverine screams, "Oh shit!" when the Predator's self-destruct bomb activates.
    • Iron Man gives two. When he realizes that his Kill Sat is going at him and seeing that Optimus survived the satellite's destruction and trying to hit him with a piece from it.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: A couple characters are portrayed rather inaccurately.
    • Thor is portrayed as a bully and a dumb brute, challenges Superman to a fight because he wants to prove Asgardians are superior to Kryptonians, and mocks Superman several times.
    • Nathan Drake comes across as The Ditz to the extreme, including calling the gold skull he just found "Steve" and being scared shitless by a snake he could just get up and step away from. In his home series, while he is a goof to some extent, that rarely carries over into battles — and never to this extent.
    • Lee Everett in his home game is a normal man, with a talent for leadership, and has learned how to survive an apocalypse, but still hates to see or let innocents die, let alone kill them himself. When he appears in his four-way battle, he seems just as bloodthirsty as the others. In a more minor example, his apparent weapon is a baseball bat, when his game typically has him use a handgun, with an axe or wrench as on-and-off melee options.
    • Wolverine is portrayed as a lecherous Jerkass He-Man Woman Hater in his fight against Wonder Woman. Hell, he sounds more like Deadpool when asking Cyclops about an island full of "big-breasted women".
  • Outrun the Fireball: Wolverine has to do this when he kills the Predator, only for the Predator's self-destruct device to activate. He makes it.
  • Pass the Popcorn: Deadpool and Joker literally share a bucket of popcorn and place bets while watching Harley and Domino fight and commenting on how hot they are. Deadpool is able to eat without removing his mask.
  • Pet the Dog: Both Gandalf and the White Ranger begin their fights by making sure a civilian can reach safety (Gandalf tells the hobbit to run, while the White Ranger saves a woman from Scorpion by telling Scorpion that he's the one Scorpion wants). Darth Vader also has such a moment after beating Gandalf; instead of killing the hobbit, he just asks the hobbit to hand him the One Ring.
  • Pop-Cultured Badass: Star-Lord makes many references to Earth's popular culture while fighting Boba Fett, such as using Indiana Jones as an Unusual Euphemism for how much it hurts to punch someone wearing Mandalorian armor and a reference to E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial for his Pre-Mortem One-Liner, "Phone home, bitch!"
  • Popularity Power: The real power they need to win. Interestingly, only "Superman vs. Thor", "Wolverine vs. Predator", "Green Ranger vs. Ryu", and "Casey Jones vs. Kick-Ass" are the ones with overwhelming majority numbers. Jason David Frank's first fight was close but that was before fans knew he was going to reprise his role. After they knew he was going to play the Green Ranger in the Ryu fight, he won by a large margin.
  • Rasputinian Death:
    • Deadpool is headshotted by himself then impaled with his own katana and Neck Snapped by Batman, and he still gets back up. Even at the end where his upper body has been reduced to red gunk, he's still alive and still talking. It counts as a victory for Batman because the merc can no longer move.
    • Then in Battle 16, Deadpool gets, in order: stabbed in the gut with his own katanas, hit in the nuts with a baseball bat, shot to bits by the Joker's Tommy Gun, shot with two tranquilizer darts, electrocuted by Joker's trick buzzer, beat senseless with a crowbar, and almost gets dissolved in Joker's super-acid; before Domino saves him by head-shotting both him and Joker with a single bullet. When he inevitably asks her why she shot him? "Your big-ass head got in the way. Plus, it gave good cover."
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Superman. Which is how you know Thor is completely and totally fucked.
  • Reflective Eyes: When Darth Maul lights up his double-lightsaber, the red laser blades reflects into Spidey's white eyepieces.
  • Revised Ending:
    • "Captain America vs. Master Chief" has an alternate ending where Master Chief wins instead, headshotting Cap, then teabagging him.
    • Another one in "White Ranger vs. Scorpion" where Machinima shows the ending where Scorpion wins instead.
    • And another one in "Darth Vader vs. Batman" where Batman wins instead.
    • Another in "Ryu vs. Green Ranger": Ryu defeats Tommy. Just as it seems that the fight is over, though, Adam Park steps up and challenges Ryu...
    • Then there's the alternate ending for "Spider-Man vs. Darth Maul".
    • A different take on the Iron Man vs. Optimus Prime battle: Tony calls in the Iron Legion for the win.
    • One for "Nightwing vs. Winter Soldier": After Winter Soldier breaks Nightwing's arm, instead of knocking him down like in the original episode, he simply grabs Nightwing and breaks his neck.
    • Another for "Wolverine vs. Wonder Woman": The episode continues with Wonder Woman being stabbed through the back by Wolverine, who is missing his lower half after climbing out of the lava.
    • One for "Batman Beyond vs. Spider-Man 2099": Terry is caught in the explosion of the globe, allowing Miguel to overpower him. Terry attempts to escape, only for Miguel to snag him with a webline around his neck, the recoil snapping it and killing him. In response, Bruce appears in new Batsuit to challenge Miguel.
    • One for "Boba Fett vs. Star-Lord": After Star-Lord punches Fett in the balls and tries to walk away, Fett angrily chokes him to death with a garrotte.
    • One for "Joker vs. Negan": Negan skips the "Say My Name" during his beatdown on Joker, instead breaking the clown's neck. Joker comes back as a walker, but Negan casually grabs Lucille and finishes him off with a blow to the head.
  • Robo Cam: Both the viewpoints of Iron Man and Optimus Prime are shown several times during their fight, with overlays analyzing what they see.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Star-Lord kills Boba Fett, but he loses the Green Lantern Ring to its owner, Hal Jordan.
  • Shock and Awe:
  • Shout-Out:
    • There are plenty of Shout-Outs to the Star Wars films in the Darth Vader vs. Gandalf fight, including Darth Vader's hand getting cut off, Darth Vader's true nature as a young Anakin, and Darth Vader dispatching Gandalf with a slice through the midsection the same way he dispatched Obi-Wan Kenobi.
    • Captain America killing Master Chief by ramming the edge of his shield into his neck mimics the scene in the original comics where he kills Baron Blood via the exact same attack.
    • Casey Jones gets one in for the original TMNT movie. "Welcome to Pain 101! Your instructor is Casey Jones!" This one also has Mikey and Casey shouting "Booyakasha" and "Goongala", respectively.
    • Tommy's Bond One-Liner to Ryu, "Welcome to my nightmare!" is from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, which was a Pre-Asskicking One-Liner there.
    • Joker wields a Tommy Gun and quips, "Merry Christmas, you filthy animal! And a Happy New Year!" Deadpool turns to the audience and asks, "Whatever happened to Macaulay Culkin, anyway?"
    • Joker asks Deadpool, "You ever dance with the Devil in the pale moonlight?"
    • Joker wields a crowbar and muses, "Ah, the memories..." While attacking Deadpool with it, he taunts him with, "Even Robin put up more of a fight!" referencing the No-Holds-Barred Beatdown he gave Robin with a crowbar in that story.
    • When Batman approaches the Death Star, Oracle tells him he's approaching a moon. Batman replies, "That's no moon."
    • In the alternate ending:
      Vader: What are you?
      Batman: I'm Batman.
    • Also in the alternate ending:
Superman: Thanks, Bruce — I owe you.
      Batman: I know.
    • The alternate ending to Spider-Man 2099 and Batman Beyond repeats the reference:
Spider-Man 2099: Who the hell are you?
Bruce Wayne Beyond: [in full armor, pissed off] I'm Batman.
    • As he's dodging Maul's attacks, Spidey asks if he's from one of several locations in the Marvel universe, including Wakanda, Latveria, The Savage Lands, Asgard, and The Negative Zone.
Spidey: I know! You're from Jersey!
    • At the end of the Iron Man vs. Optimus Prime battle, Optimus' Bond One-Liner is "That's just Prime."
    • When fighting Boba Fett, Star-Lord tries to distract him with an impromptu dance-off.
    • Lois mentions Perry White's "a good reporter makes them great" speech, which is what Perry said to Jimmy in Superman: The Movie.
  • Show Some Leg: Harley successfully distracts Deadpool twice, by showing him first a hint of cleavage, and then plain baring her boobs.
    Deadpool: They're gorgeous!
  • Skinny Dipping: Wonder Woman is introduced swimming in a pool before being alerted to Wolverine's presence and suiting up. The camera is too zoomed out to see anything inappropriate, but she is clearly naked.
  • Skyward Scream: Deadpool exaggeratedly invokes the trope when finding an unconscious Domino.
  • Smooch of Victory: Catwoman gives Batman one. Bats is unimpressed.
    Batman: Women.
  • Something Else Also Rises: When Harley shows her breasts to Deadpool, he drops his gun to the floor, and it immediately discharges.
  • Sonic Scream: Black Canary's power is her destructive scream. Although after witnessing it once, Black Widow is prompt to find a counter with a throat punch, forcing Black Canary to rely on hand-to-hand for most of the combat.
  • Spiteful Spit:
    • Punisher spits on Red Hood's corpse.
    • Joker spits after shooting Deadpool several times.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: While walking down a hallway, Wolverine sniffs and turns to look behind him, then turns back and is punched by a suddenly there Batman, beginning their battle.
  • Technical Pacifist: Batman, of course. In the Batman vs. Wolverine rematch, Batman incapacitates Wolverine by making him inhale micromagnetic dust bombs. According to Batman, it won't kill Wolverine, but he'll never be able to walk again. Deadpool pops in, chuckling at Wolverine until the latter reminds Deadpool Bats gibbed him. Deadpool moans, "Why did you have to bring THAT up?"
  • Teleport Spam: Both the White Ranger and Scorpion liberally uses teleportation during their fight, mostly to avoid attacks but also to get a cheap shot from behind.
  • Thanks for the Mammary: When Domino gets knocked out, Deadpool checks her pulse, then grabs her boobs before announcing that she is still alive.
  • There's No Kill like Overkill:
    • Batman employs twin rocket launchers to turn Deadpool into paste.
    • Optimus Prime's way to kill Iron Man is by crashing a satellite piece on him while he's badly hurt. It completely works out in Prime's favor. The alternate ending of this battle is likewise extreme; Tony, in the endosym armor, performs a Combination Attack on Prime with the help of his Iron Legion.
  • Too Slow:
    • Red Hood taunts Punisher with, "Pretty slow, old man." Punisher then hits him several times and says, "That fast enough for you, boy?"
    • Kick-Ass taunts Casey about this after dodging a few attacks, then comments, "Maybe not" when Casey manages to hit him a few seconds later.
    • Spider-Man taunts Darth Maul about this after dodging several lightsaber swings, and even goes, "Na Na Na Na, Can't Touch This!"
  • Truth Serums: Wonder Woman's lasso, as usual. It's used on Wolverine to make him reveal his abilities.
  • Use Your Head: Harley headbutts Domino away, but ends up having to rub her head in pain.
  • Visual Pun: Lampshaded when Nightwing sends Oracle a "Dick Pic". (That is, a pic of him working out.)
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Vaas never actually receives an obvious killing blow in the battle between himself, Connor Kenway, Lee Everett, and Max Payne. The last thing we see of him is him still clearly alive as he crouches down, at which point Connor uses him as a springboard and kills Max. It makes it seem like either they just outright forgot about him, or expected people to believe he was killed by having Connor step on him.
  • What the Hell Are You?: Vader's reaction in the alternate ending. Batman responds in his customary manner.
  • Why Won't You Die?: Wonder Woman screams this after Wolverine survives several beatings and sword strikes. As Wolverine is currently bound by the magic lasso, he's forced to explain about his Healing Factor and adamantium skeleton.
  • Wrecked Weapon: When Spider-Man finds out he can't light up the Sith's double-lightsaber to use it against its owner, he just breaks the weapon on his knee. Darth Maul retaliates by destroying Spidey's webshooters with the Force.
  • Wrench Whack: Harley Quinn takes out Domino by mean of a lucky throw with a wrench hitting her on the skull.
  • Wrestler in All of Us:
    • Casey Jones and Kick-Ass use several wrestling moves on each other. A nice bonus since Casey is played by John Morrison.
    • Domino uses a suplex on Harley.
  • X-Ray Sparks: When the Joker shocks Deadpool with his lethal joy buzzer, the Merc with a Mouth's skeleton briefly flashes into sight.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!:
    • Joker says this when he tries to contact Harley with an intercom but gets static.
    • When Deadpool brandishes a rubber chicken, Harley says, "Really?"
    • Star-Lord says, "Really?" when his blaster runs out of energy right when he has Boba Fett at his mercy.
    • Deadpool says, "What? Come on! ... seriously..." when he attempts to enter a garage but the door stops rising at knee height.
  • You Fight Like a Cow:
    • Spider-Man quips non-stop against Darth Maul, whether it is how he's Too Slow, his tattoos look like really bad sunburns, or how he can't keep a firm hold of his lightsaber.
    • As a result of Adaptational Personality Change, Kick-Ass does this to Casey Jones as well.
