Pokemon The Series Black & White Rewrite is a series of Fanfic videos written by Zanolith. It is a retelling of Pokemon anime's adaptation of ''Pokémon Black and White". They can be found Here.
The fanfic contains the following tropes:
- 11th-Hour Superpower: Ash and Pikachu channels the power of Zekrom to face off Giovanni and Volcarona.
- Adaptation Expansion:
- Zekrom only make a cameo appearance in Episode 1 of the anime but here, the Legendary plays a much more significant role in Ash's journey and the Team Plasma arc.
- The concept of Pokemon Connoisseurs is taken further with the addition of Pokemon Evaluthons.
- Adaptational Jerkass: Following its evolution, Oshawott, now Dewott, refuses to listen to Ash. Eventually, the former returns to listening to him again.
- Adaptational Villainy: N follows more in line with his game counterpart.
- Adaptation Deviation:
- Iris is not a part of Ash's team with Hilda taking her place. Instead, Iris is one of Ash's rivals.
- Ash captures Darumaka rather than Tepig.
- Cilan gets an additional Connoisseur rival in Barron.
- Team Plasma takes over the Unova League, leading up to a Final Battle.
- Iris wins the Unova League..
- Adapted Out:
- Rivals such as Stephan, Cameron, Virgil and Georgia are effectively removed from this version of the story.
- Some of Ash's Pokemon are not present in this rewrite, which includes Pignite, Boldore, Palpitoad, Leavanny and Scraggy.
- The Cavalry: All the Unova Gym Leaders, the Elite Four and Alder appear to help Ash and the Pokemon Trainers in stopping Team Plasma.
- Decomposite Character: Hilbert and Hilda are two separate, individuals characters and are also siblings.
- Enemy Mine: Ash and his friends join forces with Team Plasma in stopping Team Rocket.
- Heroic BSoD: Ash suffers these on multiple occasions, fearing N and Team Plasma's goal in separating humans and Pokemon slowly coming to fruition. This in turn affects his ability to summon Zekrom's power.
- Humans Are Bastards: N really feels this way which is why he is blindsided after learning that Pikachu is happy to stay with Ash.
- Kill It with Fire: Team Rocket intends to conquer Unova by using Volcarona.
- Mythology Gag: Iris winning the Unova League is one to her becoming the Champion of Unova between Black and White and Black 2 and White 2.
