Works covered by Mal:

  • Acting for Two: invoked He plays 2-3 characters by himself at the least, and 10+ characters at the most.
  • Actually Pretty Funny: One of the demons admits that he finds Dante's antics extremely entertaining and the only reason he joins the villains, is for the chance to watch him work.
  • Afterlife Antechamber: In "All the Greek/Norse Gods after Fighting Kratos," the gods of each pantheon talk about their loss to Kratos.
  • Aesop Amnesia: In Talking to the Z Fighters After Buu, Mal is beyond infuriated that the Z Fighters have screwed up so badly when dealing with Majin Buu, especially after how heavily he got on everyone's cases for how they handled the Cell Saga.
Mal: What did we learn?! No seriously, what did we learn?! After the Cell Saga, after I grilled y'all niggas out, what did we learn?! Put your motherfuckin hand right now, cuz you ain't learn God diddly shit!
  • Armor-Piercing Question: In "Call of Duty Villian Therapy", General Shepherd, deciding to indulge Vladimir Makarov, demands the latter answer the following question when he insists that the former has done worse things than him.
Shepherd: Tell me Makarov: what did I do that was so much worse than fucking No Russian?!
  • Ate His Gun: The father in When Your Son Wants to be a "Content Creator" is shown doing this as his son is revealed to be partaking in the NPC trend.
  • Bag of Holding: Explored (and played for laughs) in the When the Main Character has to Store Items in His Inventory, as the person giving him the rewards is increasingly baffled at how a small bag can hold so many illogically huge items.
  • Bag of Spilling: Odin tells the Greek gods that none of their weapons or abilities made it to the Nine Realms since Kratos sold them for hacksilver, upsetting them. In canon, it's because the magic tied to them went away with the destruction of Olympus.
  • Beef Bandage: Magni uses a bag of frozen vegetables as an icepack for his face-splitting wound in "All the Norse Gods After Fighting Kratos."
  • Beyond the Impossible:
    • Sigrun's fight with Kratos was so epic that Poseidon, who had his eyes torn out by the latter, temporarily had his eyesight restored when he views it himself to see if Sigrun truly was "valid".
    • One of the demons admits the Doom Slayer is so terrifying he prays every day before leaving for work.
Steve: Do you know how different you have to be to make a demon pray?
  • Big Eater: Lam-fucking-basted. In When The Restaurant Knows You Too Well, Mal decides to order some Papa John's for him and his friend. Unfortunately, the cashier begins listing off an order that involves two cheese pizzas, two zesty Italian trio pizzas, two super duper ulimate medium meat pizzas, one with meat, one with stuffed crust, two boxes of 16 pieces of mixed and match wings, as well as two double western bacon cheeseburger combos, one with sprite, the other with fanta, five philly cheesesteaks, a chopped cheese the ocky way (even though this video takes place in Florida and not New York), 3 steak and avocado tacos with extra hot sauce, oxtail ramen noodles, extra seasoned shrimp boiled with no potatoes, and a large salad, just before the cashier hears another person asking Mal if he ordered from Papa John's, exclaiming the former's own surprise because this whole order is all for him because he orders the exact same thing at 5 pm every single day, before mocking Mal for calling Papa John's but ordering items from 5 different restaurants, to the point where it's gotten so common that they deliver the food 15 minutes earlier than usual.
  • Bullying the Disabled: Jerry is revealed to have done this in "Jerry Goes to School".
  • Cool Shades: Poseidon wears these in the "God of War" videos from Kratos pushing in his eyes when he killed him.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Jerry is a moron who does things without thinking them through. The idiotic things he does? Taking down some of the most powerful fighters in different works with frightening ease.
  • Defeating the Undefeatable:
    • In "Jerry Starts a Gang War," he kills Mikey and Draken just to get a CoryxKenshin shirt. Just for good measure, he steals Mikey's jacket and Draken's dog tags.
    • In "Jerry Returns," Jerry reveals he either took out or outright killed Baki.
  • Dirty Coward:
    • Chakravartin bluntly calls Yasha this, telling him that he considers him the worst of the Seven Deities.
    • In God of War skits, even in the afterlife, Perseus is still using the Helmet of Invisibility for fear of Kratos which made Poseidon calls him out as this.
Poseidon: Is he [Perseus] still invisible?
      Zeus: Yeah.
      Poseidon: I knew it, pussy.
  • The Disembodied: Inverted. Hades' very soul had been taken away from his body, so he's pretty much just a lifeless corpse in the Afterlife Antechamber.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Everyone in the Olympus agrees that Poseidon's beatdown by Kratos counts as this due to the now blinded God of Sea has next to none beef against the Spartan. To the point that Poseidon thinks that Kratos harbors some racial prejudice against him due to the unjustifiably brutal death he received.
  • Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: In "The Seven Deities after Fighting Asura," Olga calls out who the hell Chakravartin is. He reminds her he's the spider that killed her.
  • Do Wrong, Right: In When Your Dad Catch You Trash Talking on the Game, the son whispers in the word "bitch" as part of his little trash talk. This severely angers his father, who proceeds to grab the mic, and begin spewing out perhaps some of the most vile things any human being can speak to another human being, angrily complaining that his son's generation is too soft.
  • Dramatic Drop:
  • The Dreaded: Kratos certainly count as this for the Greek and Norse pantheons. To the point that Perseus still made himself invisible for fear of him in the afterlife.
Perseus: [After hearing Zeus loudly saying Kratos's name] Where!?
Zeus: No Perseus, he's not here.
    Perseus: Oh, thank God.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Despite openly admitting to instigating the entire plot of Asura's Wrath, Chakravartin is shown to be completely outraged and disgusted at the actions of the Seven Deities, particularly with the Trauma Conga Line they caused Asura to go through.
Chakravartin: WHO THE FUCK KILLED HIS WIFE?! WHO DID IT?! WHO?! WHO SAID THAT WAS PART OF THE PLAN?! ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS GRAB THE GIRL!
    Sergei does a Spit Take
  • Facial Horror:
    • In "All the Greek Gods After Fighting Kratos," Hercules recounts how Kratos bashed in his head with the Nemean Cestus until he was so mangled his own mother couldn't recognize him.
    • In "All the Norse Gods After Fighting Kratos," while running down Kratos's victims, Odin says Kratos turned Magni into Two-Face, referencing Kratos planting the Leviathan Axe in his head. Additionally, Modi's entire face is covered in bandages due to the abuse he endured at the hands of his father, Thor.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Odin is actually glad Kratos killed Heimdall. Likewise, nobody else gives Heimdall any respect.
Poseidon: I'd spit on your face if I could see.
Odin: Every time you speak, you prove that you're a mistake.
  • Hands Go Down: In the first God of War skit, during Poseidon's tirade, Hercules holds his hand up to ask something (likely about Poseidon saying that he's the strongest Olympian just below Zeus himself), only to be told by the God of Sea to put his hand down who somehow noticed him. Keep in mind that Poseidon is blind and Hercules only put his hand up without saying anything.
  • Hated by All:
    • Virtually nobody likes Ares in the God of War videos. Considering that he caused Kratos' Start of Darkness by killing his family, ultimately resulting in the annihilation of not one but two pantheons, the gods have every reason to hate Ares. Poseidon verbally tears into him in "All the Greek Gods After Fighting Kratos" for his actions, while "All the Norse Gods After Fighting Kratos" literally begins with Odin choking Ares nearly to death while simultaneously screaming I'LL KILL HIM!.
    • Much like before his death, not a soul can stand being around Heimdall. His attempt to suck up to Odin gets swiftly shut down by Poseidon, and the one time he tries to show off his trademark smugness earns a collective Big "SHUT UP!" from the rest of the gods and Odin calling him a mistake.
  • I'll Kill You!: "All the Norse Gods After Fighting Kratos" opens with Odin trying to strangle Ares to a second death, screaming "I'LL KILL YOU!", blaming Ares for the reason Kratos killed two different pantheons.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Poseidon, as extremely hostile and bitter as he is due to the Eye Scream Kratos inflicted on him, is portrayed as completely accurate and justified when it comes to his various rants on others.
  • Literal Metaphor: In "Jerry Returns, Jerry hears his girlfriend's baby hadn't had his shots. He shoots the baby... with a gun.
  • Mistaken for Racist: Poseidon believes that the absolutely brutal death Kratos inflicted upon him was motivated by racism.
  • Mook Horror Show: The "How X Treats His Enemies" is about the various mooks who have survived run-ins with the heroes they've gone up against.
  • Moving the Goalposts: In "WWE EVERY Time There's a Championship Match," Mal gets a heads-up that he's going to win the WWE championship, only to find he loses it to a Money in the Bank cash-in despite there being no current Mr. Money in the Bank and that the match for the suitcase doesn't happen until July. Mal asks the producer who the opponent is, and the producer has no idea. The producer asks if Mal wants to keep whining about it or if he wants to reclaim it at Wrestlemania. Mal takes the match and learns WWE created an AI cloning machine to remake legends, but in their prime. Mal has to Run the Gauntlet in a 6v1 Hell in a Cell match against Triple H, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker (in Undefeated Streak form), Chris Benoit and Jon Jones. And if by some miracle Mal wins the match, on the second night of Wrestlemania, he's in a 2v1 Iron Man Career Ending match against God and Jesus.
  • Neck Snap: Somehow, Baldur's variant is even more severe than Poseidon's or any other deity who had fallen victim to this trope, being paralyzed from the neck down after getting his neck snapped by Kratos.
  • Never My Fault: Odin, as usual. When answering Zeus' question on how things went, Odin angrily rants how he offered Kratos peace, only for him to kick start Ragnarok, completely glossing over his part in forcing Kratos' hand in doing so. This is further highlighted by the fact that he's the only one in the room that Kratos didn't kill - instead, meeting his end at the hands of Sindri for killing his brother, Brok.
  • N-Word Privileges: It's pretty common to hear Mal drop the N-Word every now and then in his videos.
  • Only in Florida: Implied in When The Restaurant Knows You Too Well, as the cashier states that Mal lives in Florida. If that's really the case, then everything that's happened from Jerry on his usual bouts of chaos to literal divine beings showing up suddenly now makes sense.
  • Only Sane Man: In the Jerry skits, Mal is this for Jerry, freaking out over his antics.
  • Sincerity Mode: When Sigrun appears, Odin says she's "valid," as in not only invited to the party, but also legitimate. He may be a pathological liar, but he's honest about her. Poseidon doesn't believe it until he gets some footage of her kicking Kratos's face in. It's enough to make him regain his eyesight for a few seconds.
  • Taking You with Me: In "How it Feels Doing Terminals on Helldive Difficulty", Mal, after seeing an impossible pipeline for directing fuel to the missile silo, decides to pull out a 500kg bomb beacon and take him and his squad out.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Obviously, every Greek and Norse gods consider Ares as this as his intention to make a warrior out of Kratos by killing his family ultimately resulted in the annihilation of both of their pantheons.
Poseidon: This is all cause of you! Why did you killed his family!? WHY!!!??
Ares: I just wanted him to be a great warrior...
Poseidon: "Top 10 Dumbest N***s in Video Game History", My God!!
    • It goes even further than that as Ares is also the one who mistaken Deimos to be the marked warrior to be taken to Thanatos instead of Kratos.
Ares: Come on man, I said I was sorry plus you said get the kid with red marks.
Zeus: Yeah, and I also told you to make sure his name is KRATOS!
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom:
  • Vertigo Effect: Occurs in The Birds and The Bees Talk, upon Mal's discovery that his dad won't be using his mom for the demonstration, it'll be him instead...
  • Villain Ball:
    • The Sisters of Fate get this for bringing Kratos back in time to the first game during his battle against Ares, intending to break the Sword of the Gods to keep him from using it against Ares. Poseidon calls them out by saying they should have gone by themselves and done it at any time rather than bringing him with them and giving him a chance to foil their plan. He outright calls them "fucking idiots."
    • The Furies are insulted by Zeus for being from a game not many people in the fandom talk about or mention, they're Ares' wives, and just as Kratos was on the verge of suicide, they inadvertently gave him the will to keep fighting and kill them.
    • Chakravartin openly refers to Deus' plan as "villain shit" when calling out the Seven Deities saying that all they had to do was kidnap Mithra. He then asks which genius decided that killing Durga was part of the plan.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Good grief, fucking Jerry. Examples include:
    • In "Jerry the Menace," Jerry kills the child of his high school bully, Todd. Problem is, he killed a random black boy. Todd, who's Caucasian, and is married to an Asian woman, has a mixed race baby that's nowhere near black.
    • In "Jerry Goes to School", it's revealed that he beat up a student his age for perceived antagonism (it does not help that said student was disabled severely).
    • Lampshaded in "Jerry starts a Gang War", where Mal asks "What is your fascination with beating up children? Oh my God..." in response to Jerry describing how he killed Mikey and stole both the CoryxKenshin shirt and the cool jacket.
    • In "Jerry Returns", it is revealed that Jerry is on the run from the cops after having been revealed to have shot a fucking baby. Why? Because it coughed on him, and he mistook "shots" as in syringe shots, for literally shooting the baby.
  • Would Hurt a Child: The opening of "Talking to the Z Fighters After Buu" has Mal beating Gotenks with a belt for his actions during the Majin Buu Saga.
Mal: And then you have the audacity to tell him in great detail on how fusion works?! Are you serious?!
  • Wrong Restaurant: See Big Eater above; The caller calls up Papa John's and proceeds to order foods, among which some of them aren't even American.
