Description of first video

Household Felony is a Petscop-inspired fictional Let's Play series chronicling Richard and his experiences playing the titular unfinished PlayStation game. At first glance, it seems like a simple and basic demo with only a few rooms, but once he ventures just a little bit, he finds himself in a strange and disturbing new world. He finds a gallery and is told that to get to the end, he will have to finish it by beating the various levels, so he sets out to explore the game, all the while coming across a strange man calling himself Benny.

Can be found here. See also Sheriff Domestic, a similar Spiritual Successor to Petscop that has more of an Affectionate Parody vibe.

Household Felony shows examples of the following tropes:

  • Cartoon Creature: The Player Character, as usual for a Petscop-inspired series, but looks even stranger than Petscop's Guardian, with Eyes Always Shut and a bigger mouth.
  • Eyes Always Shut: The Player Character always has their eyes closed.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: In Household Felony 3, when using the telescope, the game appears to be speaking directly to Richard, and the code he needs to use to unlock a door is apparently one he knows well. In Household Felony 9, Benny outright addresses Richard from inside the game.
  • Shout-Out: Household Felony 9 shows Richard playing another unreleased game by Campyon, called Household Funeral- the entire thing is a Space Funeral reference, with textures that look just like the ones found in said game.
