Tom Willet is a retired actor and musician best known for his recurring role as Tom on Dear John. In his old age, Willet became a YouTuber under the username Featureman, producing vlogs, music, and surreal comedy videos.
In February of 2023, it was discovered by members of Willet's fan subreddit that, prior to his career in Hollywood, he had been convicted on three charges of child molestation in the state of Nevada, having avoided three back-to-back life sentences due to a discrepancy in the sentencing guidelines of the relevant law. After newspaper articles and case records regarding the conviction began to spread, Willet removed numerous videos from his channel.
Tom and his videos include instances of:
- Cloudcuckoolander: Often mutters to himself about "watermelon students" and "fork cartels".
- The Pollyanna: "Dried Up Old Bones" is a song about a cowboy dying of thirst, taking small comfort in the desert animals keeping him company so he doesn't die alone.
- Sweet Home Alabama: Born and raised in Kentucky, currently living in Tennessee. Though he doesn't really have the accent since he's lived most of his life in California.
- Sweet Tooth: He often spoils himself by dropping candy into his meals.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Watermelons. Many of his surreal cooking videos revolve around them.
