Alk2000 (Web Video)

Alk2000 is a 2023 French Fan Film/music video directed by Adrien Pisler and Johann Pélichet, produced by BLACKTREES studio and starring rapper Atef Kahlaoui aka Alkpote and Samy Naceri.

Alkpote is the owner of Al-KIT, a futuristic car that's an updated version of KITT from Knight Rider (called K2000 in French, hence the pun in the title). He comes across a man (Naceri) whose souped-up taxi (a Peugeot 407) has been stolen, and agrees to help him get his car back.

Tropes in this short:

  • Badass Longcoat: Alkpote wears a leather longcoat at the beginning of the video.
  • Chase Scene: Alkpote and the man played by Samy Naceri in Al-KIT chase after the thief of the Peugeot 407 who's driving the latter on a highway.
  • Cool Car:
    • Al-KIT, an updated version of KITT from Knight Rider. Like KITT, it has an advanced AI and a robotic voice. Its engine is as eco-friendly as possible, and it can go as fast as the 407 (if not faster).
    • The souped-up Peugeot 407 from the Taxi Film Series.
    • The time-travelling DeLorean DMC-12 from the Back to the Future franchise at the end.
  • Cool Shades: Alkpote wears sunglasses throughout the video.
  • Cop Killer: Alkpote shoots a cop in the head with a Colt M1911 at one point.
  • Deliberately Monochrome: The video is in black and white, save for some red splashes of color.
  • Disposing of a Body: After killing the cop, Alkpote wraps his body up and throws it in a canal.
  • Fan Sequel: A fan-made sequel to the Taxi Film Series, with its main star in the cast.
  • Green Aesop: Alkpote takes ecology very seriously.
  • Intercontinuity Crossover: A crossover between Knight Rider, the Taxi Film Series... and Back to the Future.
  • Nitro Boost: The thief activates the 407's nitro-like boost on the highway, but Al-KIT is still able to catch up with him with a boost of its own.
  • No Name Given: The man played by Samy Naceri has no name due to Writing Around Trademarks, but he's clearly implied to be Daniel Morales from the Taxi films.
  • Parody Assistance: Samy Naceri participated to this homage to his role in the Taxi Film Series (that's also a Take That! to Taxi 5).
  • Ramp Jump: Al-KIT performs a ramp jump in the middle of a New York-like city at one point (all in CGI).
  • Sentient Vehicle: Al-KIT has a very advanced AI and talks with the people onboard.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Alkpote's song refers to Robert Downey Jr. at one point.
    • The man played by Samy Naceri calls the thief "Vin Diesel", because he's bald.
    • The thief running away and saying "C'est des malades!" is a reference to the black postman gag from Les Visiteurs.
  • Splash of Color: The video is all in black and white except for the red electronics of Al-KIT, the flame patterns on Alkpote's jacket and a woman's lipstick.
  • Take That!: The whole part about getting Samy Naceri his taxi back is a big middle finger to Taxi 5, of which Naceri was excluded by producer/writer Luc Besson. The thief being bald and having a stubble is also one to the lead and director of that film, Franck Gastambide, with whom he has a passing resemblance.
  • Timeline-Altering MacGuffin: When Alkpote tells Al-KIT about what he wants to do when Time Travel will become a thing, he says he'll look for lottery results.
  • Vanity License Plate: The thief activates the rotating "Allez l'OM!" plate from Taxi 3 when trying in vain to find other buttons to push to get another speed boost.
