is a dark fantasy webcomic by Chloé C., creator of Go Get a Roomie!. Don't expect to see the artist's Signature Style here; while her other webcomic is about real-life people doing real-life things, Headless Bliss is anything but. The comic's first arc revolves around an adventurous demon child named Annùn and portals in a fantasy land. The second shifts to a world seemingly like ours, revolving around Asile and Oishi, white-haired identical twins in an abusive household who may not exactly be human. The story has since shifted back to the demon world, although Asile and Oishi are still around...more or less.On August 27, 2022, Chloé C. announced she would be putting Headless Bliss on indefinite hiatus in favor of revamping and publishing it as a physical comic.
Headless Tropes:
- An Arm and a Leg: On the second-to-last panel of page 80, Asile is missing her left leg below the knee, having chewed it off as self-punishment for attacking her beloved sister.
- Abusive Parents:
- Asile and Oishi's father was a Domestic Abuser who constantly insulted and hit his wife (eventually killing her) and drank their money away. The fact that he's a worse parental figure than Diov says something.
- Played for Laughs during chapter twelve when it's revealed that Diov used to throw Annùn off the roof for making too much noise. Although given demon morality this might have been considered normal.
- Alcoholic Parent: Two examples both at different levels of seriousness.
- The twins' father is said to have spent nearly all of his earnings on booze. Played for Drama as this made him an even worse father and that one of twins had to find a new source of food...
- Played for Laughs with Diov, who's shown in some scenes to find solace in the bottle. Literally on this page.
- Artificial Human: Sinaj is an artificial demon born from an unfinished story. However, whether or not she is Lillian's character from the get-go or just a character Lillian is writing about in her present condition remains to be seen.
- Badass Boast: When Asile kills Flufferboi Annùn gets her One-Winged Angel on and delivers this.Annùn: Let me tell you the reality you've somehow stepped into. You were born in a broken family, you grew broken, and broke everything again by killing. You thought nothing could break you more than the damage you caused. Welcome to the reality that can.
- Bad Is Good and Good Is Bad: Everything we learn from Annùn about the demon world points to this. Demons view parasites like humans view fluffy animals, they intentionally cause harm to any animal because they don't understand why causing death is cruel, and generally view hopes and dreams as some kind of angelic virtue - which is the main source of Annùn's turmoil for the first three chapters.
- Berserk Button:
- For Lady Diov, it's humans, and the thought of being associated with them in any fashion.
- For Asile, so much as touching Oishi is enough for her to bite the offender's head off... almost literally.

- Bizarre Alien Biology: Royal Demons go through several "evolutionary" stages (larval blobs to humanoids) and then undergo a unique puberty which is eventually shed to reach adulthood. They also give off no smell whatsoever, which allows them to be untraceable by scent-reliant predators.
- Blood Bath: Annùn admits that while her dad is very nice, he enjoys an occasional bath in the blood of old enemies.
- Blood-Splattered Warrior: The killer of all the combatants in the deathday tournament in ch. 6 is revealed to be Asile. Her face and clothes are splattered with blood, her dreadlocks are soaked through with blood, and she's carrying Oishi's head.
- Canon Welding: Turns out that the story of Headless Bliss is an in-universe work by Lillian from Go Get a Roomie!, as revealed here.
- The Cameo: There are several in Chapter 6, belonging to other webcomic artists and DeviantArt subscribers who responded to Chloe's offer to feature their characters. The cameos from other webcomics include Guy from 2GAG, Izzy from You Suck, Evey from StarHammer, the Little One from Go Get a Roomie, Toska from Prague Race, and Suria from RockCocks.
- Chekhov's Gunman: Way back on the 15th page, Sinaj and Annun encounter an Eldritch horror creature, who ultimately proves to be harmless and skitters off 4 pages later. 7 years later, said creature returns on page 421, and a few pages later is revealed to be Queen Minuail.
- Cluster F-Bomb: One unhappy cannibal = Much profanity.
- Crossover: Strip #50 introduces the idea of "echoes", resonances of... well, pretty much anything... that can appear in alternate dimensions. The last panel shows the little hooded creature with the big eyes that Lillian has spun stories about in Go Get a Roomie!. Contrasted with Annùn a couple of panels earlier, the idea of the creature being an echo of Annùn isn't far-fetched. Sinaj denies that she's an echo in strip #51.
- Creepy Twins: Chapter 4 features a pair of white-haired twins, one of whom is a cannibal.
Word of God reluctantly revealed that they are Asile and Oishi, characters who first appeared on the author's DeviantArt page. - Cut Short: The webcomic was effectively cancelled in August 2022, in favor of a reboot to be published as a physical comic.
- The Dog Bites Back: Asile finally kills and eats her abusive father, but her mother is killed in the process.
- Domestic Abuse: The father of the twins in the comic's second arc is an alcoholic who hits their mother when he's drunk... which appears to be most of the time.
- Dropped a Bridge on Him: When looking for Oishi, Aisle runs to the house of the old voodoo lady only to find her dead, apparently of natural causes, though "Don't trust her." is scrawled in blood on the wall.
- Ear Ache: When Oishi startles her during feeding time, Asile reflexively attacks her and bites off one of her ears.
- The Easy Way or the Hard Way: When Sinaj finally meets Lady Diov, she's given a version of this for being hesitant to answer a question.Lady Diov: Okay, Sinaj. Sin. Can I call you Sin? Here's the thing. Angering me by singing the wrong tune? Possible but not certain. Boring me by remaining dull and silent? It's like suicide but with more blood. NOW. ANSWER. ME.
- Which doubles around to funny, when Sinaj points out she hadn't actually asked her anything.
- Eldritch Abomination: Nearly every inhabitant of the world in the comic's first arc, except for the demons (i.e. the resident humanoids), giraffamas, and poodles is one of these. Even the portals are bizarre-looking and supposedly dangerous creatures.
- Fangs Are Evil: Asile's teeth are sharpened into fangs to make her preferred diet of flesh easier to obtain.
- Fluffy the Terrible: The giant demon dog mutated by Annun's magic zit is dubbed...Flufferboi.
- Foreshadowing: Headless Bliss was foreshadowed at least three times in Go Get A Roomie:
- Gladiator Games: In Chapter 6, Diov holds a gladiator tournament to celebrate Annùn's deathday. The combatants are all killed by Asile before the fight can begin.
- God Save Us from the Queen!: Lady Diov, who is also referred to in-comic as "the Queen," does care for her people—-who are demons-—but after hearing about Sinaj, who resembles a demon, though she's actually something different, the Queen equates the foreigner with the Eldritch Abominations she calls "parasites." When meeting Sinaj, she reveals herself to be exquisitely sadistic and cruel, which are considered positive traits in the demon world.Lady Diov: [after Annùn has gushed about Sinaj's powers and shape-changing] I've heard enough. You may leave.
Annùn: Are you going to hurt her?
Lady Diov: There is no 'her,' darling. Whatever she made you believe, she is not one of us. She is more of a parasite than a demon, and needs to be taken care of. - I Did What I Had to Do: Implied to be the reason for Diov killing her mother.
- Idiot Ball: Sinaj's delight at having a real human around has blinded her to the fact that Asile is utterly deranged and dangerous to them and everyone around them, which has hampered her and Annùn's travels, led to death and destruction, and finally causes Annùn to snap.
- I'm a Humanitarian: The twins come upon the corpse of a woman in an alley, apparently freshly beaten to death. Asile immediately starts chowing down. She's also more than willing to consume demon flesh, bites a chunk out of Flufferboi's throat, and eats Unfour.
- Interrupted Declaration of Love: As Annùn is musing about Sinaj in her journal, she starts to write "I think I love her." but is interrupted by Sinaj's arm bursting from beneath a pile of papers.
- Island of Misfit Everything: The realm of Lasceral functions as this. A safe haven for things like tone-deaf Sirens.
- Lady Looks Like a Dude: Due to their young ages, Asile and Oishi are frequently mistaken for boys by the comment section.
- The Load: Asile's sheer viciousness and tendency to try to eat everything that moves does nothing but hold the group back, though Sinaj is seemingly blind to this.
- Love at First Sight: The Polypans. If they see a non Polypan, they immediately fall in love with them.
- Matricide: Diov apparently killed her own mother for going against the natural order of demon existence.
- Monstrous Humanoid: Sinaj is a mild version. She looks mostly human, but has shape-shifting horn-like structures where her ears should be, her hair seems to have a life of its own at times, her left eye is completely white and featureless, and she has some forms of apparently magical or sorcerous abilities. Chapter 5 makes clear the earlier hints about her origin - she's an abandoned story, unfinished by her human creator. In a flashback in Ch. 7, it's revealed that Sinaj apparently doesn't have anything inside her skin, which gets a rather bitterly-worded lampshade hung on it later on when Annùn, while carrying Sinaj, remarks that she's very light, which Sinaj notes by stating that she's unfinished and must be very light reading.
- Mood Whiplash: After a supremely dark and terrifying page, the follow-up is a little wet.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Asile reflexively bites off Oishi's ear when the latter startles her in the process of eating their father. When she comes to her senses, she chases Oishi through the city pleading for forgiveness, then gnaws off one of her own legs as self-punishment.
- Mythology Gag: Annùn, Sinaj, Asile, and Oishi originated as OC's on the author's DeviantArt page for a group called "OC Battle Zone". In one sketch from 2012, Chloé even stated she wanted to make a webcomic featuring them.
- Our Demons Are Different: There are royal demons and lower demons, which differ significantly from one another.
- Our Monsters Are Weird: Regardless of Eldritch-ness. The young protagonist and the comic's visual style contribute to the feeling that readers have fallen into the dreamscape of a five-year-old's worst nightmare, which is populated heavily by these monsters.Annùn: Well, there was this…big, blue creature with lots of pink eyes.
Lady Diov: UGH. I hate those things. - Polar Opposite Twins: One of the twins introduced in Chapter 4 is hardhearted and pragmatic, trying to kill a cat for food and engaging in cannibalism in order to get something to eat. The other is kindhearted, cuddling the cat and letting it go. Despite their differences, they still care deeply for one another.
- Precision F-Strike: Sinaj's good mood looks to be ruined.
- Rage Breaking Point: After being ignored and nonchalantly insulted by Sinaj, Annun loses it.
- Ship Tease: Chapter 5 features an older Annùn, who is very possessive of and protective towards "[her] Sinaj".
- Spirit Advisor: The soul of the giraffama Asile accidentally unspotted gives Asile, Annùn, and Sinaj some interesting information about what's going on, namely that there's a reason Lady Diov resembles giraffamas and Annùn looks like her grandmother, and that Annùn's cloak is created from Lady Minvial's blood.
- Survival Mantra: Asile referring to the strangeness of the demon world and everything in it as "fucking voodoo shit." It started off as a Running Gag, but as her Trial reveals, she is unable, or more likely unwilling, to accept that what's happening to her is real, using the phrase as a barrier to keep her mind closed off. Unfortunately, it may have cost her her chance at reuniting with Oishi.
- Tear Off Your Face: Flufferboi has what counts as his face ripped off, and eaten by Asile.
- Took a Level in Jerkass: Lady Diov goes from sinister but interesting to full-on evil as she cruelly mocks Sinaj's anguish.
- Vapor Wear:
- Sinaj is introduced apparently only wearing a long black poncho-like shawl. After the Time Skip, she wears a black bodysuit under it, although later on this appears to have gone away.
- The previous demon queen, Minuial, is depicted wearing only her cloak.
