Imagine if WWE not only retained the Attitude mentality, but turned it up to eleven.

You get WWE Over The Edge, an alternate universe, machinima take on WWE, which uses Yukes's line of WWE games as the base.

Be forewarned. Spoiler tags are only for Summerslam 2012-present; anything before that will be unmarked.

This work provides examples of:

  • Asshole Victim: See Laser-Guided Karma.
  • The Atoner: Dolph Ziggler. Outing the chairman's affair with Summer Rae probably wasn't the best thing to do after all.
  • Ax-Crazy: One would expect Dean Ambrose to be this, but he raises the stakes. He ripped off Cody Rhodes's ear at Summerslam.
  • Batman Gambit: This is a big one. Edge knew AJ Lee would end up retaliating on him after the plan he made with Trish Stratus, so he deliberately needled her to the point where she caused the limo accident that presumably ended his career. Along with that, he knew Christian would jump to his defense and try to get to the bottom of everything. However, everything Christian believed was all wrong, right down to the limo that was used. Oh, and the whole thing cost Captain Charisma his career AND the World Heavyweight Championship, too.
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Averted.
  • Big Bad: Drew McIntyre, as he would crash WWE to the point where he got Raw and Smackdown thrown off the air after Hell in a Cell 2011, which would eventually lead into the birth of Octane. His status as this is coming under threat after he cheated on Stephanie McMahon.
    • Edge has run away with the throne after the Survivor Series.
  • The Chessmaster: Edge.
  • Darker and Edgier: It has enough sex and violence to the point where it makes ECW look like Universe Era WWE.
  • Despair Event Horizon: The Undertaker hit it after Aces High after losing the Ministry of Darkness, any chance at getting control of WWE, and being rejected by his own brother Kane. Enter Bray Wyatt...
  • Exact Words: When laying down the rules for the Elimination Chase leading to the Survivor Series, Stone Cold mentioned that anyone who has participated in a World Heavyweight Championship match in 2012 was eligible. The Intergender Double Title TLC Match at Aces High did count after all.
  • Hotter and Sexier: Trish Stratus after turning on the Miz and aligning with Edge, and Stephanie McMahon-McIntyre, who now has Kaitlyn under her employ.
  • "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: Kane had this with Undertaker at Summerslam, which he lost. At Duality, he went after Bray Wyatt himself in a coffin match. Not only did he lose that one too, but Bray ordered Undertaker to set the coffin on fire. He did.
  • Ironic Echo: Cody Rhodes beat Mick Foley at Wrestlemania to become the new Hardcore Icon. As of Summerslam, Rhodes is now missing an ear, just like Foley.
  • Karma Houdini: The Miz was turning this into an art form, until Survivor Series.
  • Killed Off for Real: Kane, at the hands of Undertaker and Bray Wyatt... presumably.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Stephanie McMahon cheated and turned on HHH to get with Drew McIntyre. Months later, thanks to Dolph Ziggler and Big E, it comes out that Drew cheated on her with Summer Rae. Unsurprisingly, she goes absolutely nuclear.
  • More than Mind Control: Bray Wyatt flawlessly does this to the Undertaker.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Summer Rae caught one from hired gun Paige for her role in the Chosen One's affair.
  • Power Stable: The Empirenote , Paul Heyman's Juggernaut note .
  • Put on a Bus: Mr. McMahon after Powertrip, courtesy of CM Punk. Randy Orton after Wrestlemania.
    • CM Punk hasn't been seen since Summerslam himself.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Triple H defeated Drew McIntyre in their blowoff Hell in a Cell match at Summerslam. However, Drew would have the ultimate victory by breaking HHH's neck and ending his career.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Raw and Smackdown getting thrown off the air. This was done to facilitate the transition from WWE 12 to WWE 13.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Stone Cold Steve Austin after Summerslam, as one would expect.
  • Serial Escalation: This one crosses into meta territory: Stone Cold promised an industry-shattering announcement, and it ended up being that not only will the 2013 Royal Rumble take place in Tokyo, BUT NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING WILL BE INVOLVED.
  • Shameful Strip: Stephanie McMahon-McIntyre, at the hands of Triple H. She got Pedigreed soon after.
  • Shown Their Work: One of OTE's major calling cards. Video packages include lines from real-life promos spliced together to fit the match, and all of it is done seamlessly. Even the amount of detail put into their mods is jaw-dropping.
  • The Dog Bites Back: It would not be wise to break AJ's heart. Edge paid for this mistake with his career.
  • Too Dumb to Live: COREY GRAVES. More often than not, Sami Zayn has to try to bail him out of trouble, which ends up with him getting beaten up as well. This includes crashing Kane's 10 bell salute.
  • Walking Spoiler: AJ and Trish are big ones, but Stephanie McMahon-McIntyre is the chief one.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Most notably: Big Show, Edge, and Triple H.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: When it seemed that Christian would finally reach the top of the mountain, Edge and Trish Stratus not only cost him the World Heavyweight Championship, but his career as well. Oh, and everything he gathered about Edge's career ending limo accident was all wrong, too.
  • You Go, Girl!: Five words: World Heavyweight Champion Trish Stratus. And it's possible Lita will be her first challenger for it.
