Soulcorp is a tongue-in-cheek Analog Horror series created by Xploshi. The series is predicated on the existence of Soulcorp, a corporation that enhances existing technology with the souls of the dead, with consequences just as bad as you can imagine.

You can watch it here, although there are only three videos currently.

This Web Series contains examples of:

  • And I Must Scream: The apparent fate of humans upon death, trapped within their mortal remains. Souls can additionally become damaged if parts of their ashes or body are missing or contaminated, in which case this is explicitly true.
  • Cybernetics Eat Your Soul:
    • Soulcorp creates the Spectrephone, a phone which allows people to communicate with the dead. A damaged soul unfortunately becomes trapped in the Spectrephone, presumably trapped in there until they become some type of primordial horror.
    • Tobias turns out to be suffering from this. He has memories of his life as a human, but is trapped in a limited metal body and is visibly frightened and angry at how his soul has been violated.
    • BOTM the Clown is based on Tobias, but designed with less sentience, creating an unhinged borderline-psychotic caretaker robot.
  • Dissonant Serenity: The narrators of the videos are surprisingly upbeat, professional and calm in a distinctly corporate way, despite the horrific crimes against nature they are describing.
  • Dead All Along: Tobias is revealed in the ending of "Teaching Tobias" to have been reported missing, meaning Soulcorp might've just killed the poor guy and put his soul in a robot.
  • Evil, Inc.: Soulcorp not only creates a machine that can trap the tortured souls of the dead, but explicitly sells them to grieving families, demonstrating the company as incredibly shady, corrupt and opportunistic. Also doubles as Incompetence, Inc. conspidering how many lawsuits they tend to attract.
  • Fun with Acronyms: BOTM, the Battery Operated Tot Minder.
  • Heroic BSoD: It's implied that the the old man that BOTM is taking care off is going through one after being informed by BOTM that they're suffering of terminal pneumonia, followed by BOTM failing to find any close family to notify them about it.
  • Monster Clown: Downplayed with BOTM the Clown. While it's considered frightening to the point of getting scrapped, it doesn't directly cause any physical harm to anyone.
  • No Indoor Voice: Even when it's not Suddenly Shouting, BOTM the Clown has serious volume control issues.
  • Wham Line: "I AM ALIVE. I AM AWARE. AND SOON, I WILL BE FREE."
  • Wham Shot:
    • During the Object Recognition Test, Tobias recognizes the image of the cat as his childhood pet.
    • After Tobias is scrapped, the camera pans to reveal a missing poster of Tobias before his death.
  • Uncertain Doom: While they've both been scrapped, since it is a case of Cybernetics Eat Your Soul, it's unclear if Tobias and BOTM have been put to rest or might be trapped in an And I Must Scream situation. Tobias doubly so, since he displays the more emotions and is more alive in his appearance than BOTM.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: A semi-recurring joke from Xploshi's main channel, Soulcorp Shopping Channel invokes this trope in its promo of BOTM the Clown.
Timothy: BOTM, could you get me a cup of water?
BOTM: YOU HAVE 6.2 DAYS TO LIVE! AILMENT IDENTIFIED AS terminal pneumonia. YOUR NEXT OF KIN WILL BE NOTIFIED!
