We're swinging on a Saturday night, yeah!note

Saturday Night Swingin' is Lolotov's entry for the Funkin' Jam, a competition with over $6000 in prizes for Friday Night Funkin' animation. It starts with the Boyfriend and the Girlfriend turning on a tv and watching a cartoon with characters who look like animal versions of themselves. The cartoon Boyfriend orders two cups of coffee. He's broke, but Stacey lets him sing for it, with the track used being "Cream n' Sugar" by Geshtro. It can be watched on Newgrounds and YouTube.

This animation provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Species Change: The Boyfriend's a dog and the Girlfriend's a bird here.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: Starla and Bucky are two coffee machines seen moving up and down to the beat.
  • The Cameo:
    • At the beginning, you can see Carol walking down the street.
    • In the cafe, Whitty appears among the four people when the Boyfriend and Stacey start singing.
  • Deliberately Monochrome: The only colored element is the Newgrounds watermark. Literally everything else is black and white.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: After the song, you can see Stacey's shocked face when the bar is pushed to the left for a split second.
  • Show Within a Show: Saturday Night Swingin' is a cartoon the Boyfriend and the Girlfriend watch on their television.
