Otakebi (平成の雄叫び, Heisei no Yell) is a YouTube manga dub channel. Some of the stories include revenge stories, touching stories and suspenseful stories. The English channel can be found here. The original Japanese channel can be found here.

Otakebi contains examples of:

  • Age-Gap Romance: Hitomi, who is 25 years old, is married to an older man named Shinichi, who is 20 years older than her.
  • Aroused by Idiocy: Sayaka's brother-in-law combines this trope with Be Careful What You Wish For; he openly admits that he hates smart women and prefers stupid women; as a result of his thinking, he marries a Womanchild who is extremely dependent on him and lacks a lot of common sense. This trope is deconstructed when his wife puts them in debt as a result of destroying an expensive kimono for being made of silk and she refuses to take responsibility and her parents don't want to take her back because of her stupidity. Reconstructed when the husband decides that dealing with her stupidity is simply the price of having an unintelligent wife.
  • Baby Talk: Naoto mocks his girlfriend Ayano by speaking to her in this way whenever she protests his laziness. When she was fed up with him, she started to mock him like this.
  • Batman Gambit: This video has a woman whose husband hired a man to make her have an affair with him. When she found out, she decided to go along with the plan. When she was going out with the affair "partner" she revealed that she knew, causing the plan to fail and the husband, who has the camera ready to catch her in the act to come out and the guy to bail out of the plan. As a result, the husband was forced to do things by his wife for the rest of his life.
  • Bedroom Adultery Scene: When Toshiya found things belonging to a CFO at his home. When he returned the things to the company, they went to the CFO's house where they found Toshiya's girlfriend Yuki in bed with the CFO.
  • Best Friends-in-Law:
    • Mami is in a good relationship with her mother-in-law. The women become closer after they get a divorce from their respective husbands and Mami considers her ex-mother-in-law to be the only family she has.
    • Asami has a good relationship with her mother-in-law, who treats her like a real daughter, even scaring Sasaki-san away whenever she tried to bully Asami.
  • Big Brother Bully: Izumi was bullied by her older brother throughout her childhood, and her parents always took his side when she asked them for help.
  • Big Eater:
    • Akira occassionally steals food and eats them all behind his family's back. One day, he steals an entire plate of croquettes and when his mother tries to call him out for his actions, he refuses to stop and starts blaming everyone but himself by looking down on women because he thinks they are only good at cooking. The whole incident causes Akira's father and brother to call him out on his actions.
    • Yuya took some food from Momoko without her permission for multiple times; however, she couldn't go against him because he was paying for their food. Later, he even steals her food when she is actually paying for it, causing her to dump him for his lack of common sense.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing:
    • Sojiro appears as a nice guy who loves his wife on the surface, however he shows his true personality by insulting his wife during a heated discussion between his family and his ex-lover as his affair with the latter turns out to be true.
    • Hiro appears to be a nice, understanding boyfriend towards Lisa, but his facade is revealed when he told her to cook something for him when he returned back home late at night and then verbally abused her because it was frozen food.
  • The Bully: Sayuri bullies Kyohei just because he reminds her of her ex, her friend Kiyomi also joins in bullying him. One day, Sayuri tries to use a sketchy hypnosis app to order Kyohei to jump out of a window. Unfortunately for her, the app doesn't work and she eventually gets reprimanded by her superiors, Kiyomi later blames Kyohei for the incident as she was also scolded by the superiors and tells him to jump out of a window as well. The incident also causes the friendship between Sayuri and Kiyomi to collapse and they start to argue with each other. Both of them are later chased out of the company for their wrongdoings.
  • Con Artist: Sotaro and Tomoe worked together as con artists before they ended up being arrested because the latter's ex-husband, Koji, ratted them out to the police, due to their status as fugitives.
  • Daddy DNA Test:
    • Bob's father secretly did a DNA test on his sons after he became suspicious of his wife's affair, Bob is revealed to be his only biological son.
    • Kanna's husband asked for a DNA test just because he was convinced by his co-worker that the baby inside her belly may not be his. Unsurprisingly, the baby is really his. Kanna eventually divorced her husband and sued the co-worker for defamation.
    • In this story, a man demands a DNA test to confirm his daughter's paternity because he was convinced that she was not related to him by blood. The result says that she is indeed his daughter, however he gets into another trouble when his wife left him because she found that he was cheating on her with another woman.
  • Decoy Protagonist: This man appears to be the protagonist of the story as he demands a DNA test to confirm his daughter's paternity out of suspicions that his wife was cheating on him. However, the wife is revealed to be the true protagonist of the story when her husband turns out to be the one who cheated on her with another woman.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Koji thinks this of his ex-wife, Tomoe, after she sent him a letter announcing her pregnancy three years after she stole his car and valuables and left town with her lover, Sotaro. This is because both Tomoe and Sotaro are fugitives on the run and the letter includes their current address.
  • Diet Episode: In this story, Chiharu wants to make her sister Natsuki lose weight with the help of her parents by eating healthy food and exercising. Natsuki tried to complain at first but she eventually takes the weight loss seriously because of her grandfather's words.
  • False Rape Accusation: In this story'', two girls accused the main character of forcing himself on them after he helped them out in the mountains. After he gets fired from his job for the accusation, his lawyer exposes their lies and when questioned, both girls confessed that he "ruined" their plans of getting a handsome mountain-climbing boyfriend as he was a "regular" guy.
  • Formerly Fit: Kanna gained weight after breaking up with Takuya when he felt neglected due to her video game addiction.
  • Gamer Chick: Kanna is extremely addicted to online video games, she later quits school and her job due to her addiction, it also causes Takuya to break up with her after several talks to get her to stop playing video games. A few years later, She becomes an overweight woman and is still addicted to video games, though her family manages to get her out of her addiction and she eventually finds a job at a convenience store.
  • Gold Digger:
    • Bob's brothers' girlfriends only date them only for their money, they dump them immediately after finding out their boyfriends have less money than they expected from $150,000 of the inheritance money left by their father.
    • Sota suddenly changes his attitude after Midori told him that she won the lottery, though she lied about the amount of money that she won. After hearing the news, Sota immediately purchases a car and condo without telling her. This eventually causes Midori to divorce Sota due to his greediness. It turns out that Sota is also cheating on Midori with another woman and intends to buy the condo for himself and his lover.
    • Tomoe stole her husband, Koji's, car and his other valuables and escape with her lover, Sotaro. Three years later, the thieving couple sent a letter to Koji about Tomoe's pregnancy, which also included their new address, prompting him to rat the couple out to Tomoe's parents and the police.
    • Toko only dates Kenji for his money and complains about him being stingy on her Instagram account, it turns out she is also cheating on him with a man who is more wealthy than him. When Kenji decides to break off his engagement with Toko, she tries to lie to him that the account was a fake and also comes to his house to get back with him, but she gets rejected. She later tricks her father into believing that Kenji was the bad guy and force him to get back with her, until he shows him the evidence as well. In the end, Toko's lover turns out to be married and his wife also demands alimony from her and her parents.
  • Green and Mean: Several videos have the antagonist of the story wear a green shirt.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Tomoe sends a letter to her ex-husband Koji to announce her pregnancy with her lover Sotaro's child after stealing his valuables and running off with Sotaro. Unfortunately for the couple, Koji decides to rat the lovebirds out to her parents and the police because the letter also included their new address and they are also fugitives for conning several people, causing them to be arrested.
  • Honey Trap: Subverted in this story. A man attempts to divorce his wife by hiring someone to act as the lover so she would cheat on her husband with him, thus bringing evidence for him to divorce her. Unfortunately for both the husband and "lover", his wife is aware of their plans and plays along until she and the "lover" are in front of a love hotel. The "lover" leaves the wife and her husband behind after the plans failed, and the she blackmails her husband into listening to anything she says, turning his life into a living hell.
  • Humiliation Conga:
    • Sojiro gets sued by his ex-wife and ex-lover for cheating on the former and refusing to acknowledge the conceived baby from his affair with the latter, he also gets fired from his company and his parents also disown him for his trouble. When Sojiro tries to return to his house, he finds out that it was sold because his parents decided to travel cross-country.
    • Hisashi married his mistress after divorcing Aki; however, his child is revealed to be not his and he also turns out to be infertile when he tries to divorce his now-wife. Hisashi later pathetically begs Aki to get back with him, unaware that she already married another man and had a daughter with him, she replies Hisashi by telling him to never contact her again.
  • I Ate WHAT?!: Tomoe often gets scolded by her husband for not being able to cook him the "Shiitake rice" that he loves and he claims his mother is good at making it. He eventually cheats on her and asks for a divorce just because she can't cook his favorite rice. Tomoe becomes suspicious of the rice and asks her husband to come to his house to try out the rice cooked by his mother. It's revealed that the rice wasn't "Shiitake rice" at all as his mother had no idea about it, and the rice was instead infested with bugs, causing him and his mother to be disgusted, his lover also turns out to be a untidy person, her house was infested with bugs, which explains she was able to make him the rice.
  • I Have No Son!: Sojiro gets disowned by his parents after they find out about his affair with a woman behind his wife's back before their wedding and he also tried to avoid responsibility as he impregnated the former.
  • Insult Misfire: Erika's mother-in-law insults the curry that Erika cooked just because she doesn't like her, however, her granddaughter Mai cries and reveals that she was the one who cooked it for her. It turns out that everything was set up by Erika and Mai to teach the old hag a lesson.
  • Insult to Rocks: Kyohei compares Sayuri and Kiyomi, who argue with each other after a failed attempt to make him commit suicide, with some elementary schoolers, but then he takes it back because his statement would insult his niece, who is an elementary schooler.
    Kyohei: After this whole thing, Sayuri and Kiyomi stopped getting along. They used to mess with me at first but now they mess with each other like some elementary schoolers. That's probably an insult to elementary schoolers...My niece is better suited to live in society...
  • Jabba Table Manners: Takahashi held his chopsticks in a fist and wolfed down his meals at a restaurant on his date with Rika.
  • Lives in a Van: Shinjiro and Sojiro's parents sell their house and buy an RV to travel around Japan to get away from any unwanted attention because of the trouble caused by the latter.
  • Mama's Baby, Papa's Maybe: Shoma's father demanded a DNA test as a joke, and he kept joking that Shoma isn't his son, much to his anguish. This led to the husband and wife divorcing since he refused to apologize.
  • Obnoxious In-Laws: Koichi's father and sister dislikes Mami because he is married earlier than her.
  • Parental Incest: Kenji cheated on his wife Sayuri with his aunt. When the affair was exposed he was disowned by his family and he and Sayuri got a divorce.
  • Plot Allergy:
    • Atsushi Tanabe is allergic to wheat, however one of his co-workers named Mayuko Ito don't take allergies seriously who often pressures him to eat what he is allergic to. One day, Mayuko secretly put some wheat flour on his food, causing him to collapse in the middle of work. It turns out she has been doing the same thing to other people, including giving snacks to children with ingredients they are allergic to so they would grow out of their allergies, she eventually gets imprisoned for this.
    • Kouji's mother purposely serves his son's wife Noriko chicken despite knowing the the latter is allergic to it, and she also claims that they received a lot of chicken from a farm. When Kouji asked the farm about the chicken, it turns out that his mother was the one who asked for them. Angry at his mother, Kouji decides to lie to his mother about Noriko's "allergy" of fish, causing her to send a lot of fish to them, in reality, however, fish are Noriko's favorite food.
  • Rejecting the Inheritance: Izumi gives up her share of the family inheritance just so she wouldn't have to see her brother (who constantly bullies her) and her parents (who do nothing to stop it) ever again. Her brother agrees, as he doesn't want to see Izumi again, and both siblings finalize the terms in writing; the brother keeps the money on the condition of caring for his parents as they get older.
  • Sadist Teacher: Masaki's teacher gives him Cs on his tests and assignments for no reason, despite the fact that he is a smart student and usually scores As. She also lies to Masaki's father that Masaki is a teacher's pet, with that being the sole reason she is giving him Cs, fortunately, he doesn't believe her. The teacher's unfair treatment to Masaki also sparks an outrage from many parents of Masaki's classmates and it is also revealed that she has been doing the same thing to other kids based on how she felt about them.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: When Megumi tries to call her son Akira out for stealing all of the food intended for her husband Mitsuaki and other son Mitsuya, he blames everything but himself and also says that women are only good at cooking. This causes Mitsuaki and Mitsuya to cook so he won't be able to use the excuse to look down on women.
  • Stealing the Credit: Sympathetic version, Murakami comes up with the idea to submit Yuka's proposal under his name to the manager Yamaguchi, who refuses to read her proposal for being a woman, however, he later reveals that Yuka was the one who made the proposal during the presentation to expose his misogyny.
  • Straw Misogynist: Yamaguchi is the manager at Yuka's company who looks down on women and he always refuses to read Yuka's proposal, saying that she should make him some tea instead. Murakami then comes up with the idea to have Yuka's proposal being sent to Yamaguchi under his name, who gladly accepts it. When the truth is out, Yamaguchi gets chewed up by the CEO for rejecting her great proposals and he eventually gets demoted.
  • Suicide Dare: Sayuri uses a sketchy hypnosis app on Kyohei to order him to jump out of window. Unfortunately for her, the app doesn't work and this causes her to get scolded by her superiors. The hypnosis app also turns out to be a scam and she paid $5000 for it. Kiyomi also blames Kyohei and tells him to jump off a window as well.
  • The Un-Favourite:
    • Bob was treated coldly by his mother while his two older brothers gets spoiled by her. It is later revealed the reason Bob was neglected by his mother because he was his father's only biological son and his brothers turned out to be his half-brothers due to his mother's affair with another man. Bob's father was also aware of his wife's affair, causing him to give most of the inheritance to Bob when he dies.
    • Takeshi was neglected by his parents in favor of his older brother Yuji, they also spread false rumors about him to their relatives when he left the house. Due to false rumors against him, Takeshi starts to debunk them, this causes the relatives from both sides of his family to turn against them and their company starts to go down, Takeshi also cuts all ties with his parents.
  • Wedding Smashers: A woman crashes Sojiro's wedding reception and claims to be pregnant with his child, this causes her to be escorted out of the hall and she was perceived as crazy by Shinjiro. It's later revealed she was really telling the truth and Sojiro really had an affair with her behind his wife's back before their wedding.
  • Younger Than They Look: Yomeko's ex-husband ate a lot of overly salty food, this causes him to have several health problems and his appearance changes as well, now he looks more like an old man, despite his young age.
