Japanoschlampen (ger. for Japano-Sluts) is an Web Series created by German You-Tuber coldmirror. It serves as a Affectionate Parody of Animes, though later episodes have parodied other media or focused on the life of the characters instead.
Japanoschlampen follows Wake, an eccentric manic grade A student, and her not-boyfriend Chao, as they go on adventures, into school, or on what they are doing in their spare time.
The series ran over 3 seasons, with 33 episodes in total, and 3 movies, which parody H.P. Lovecraft's works. Also there are additional mini-episodes, which focus on established things in the world, like a show about animals or advertisements for fictional games. It was put on hiatus in March 2016, as coldmirror chose to focus on her new series StarStarSpace instead.
Provides examples of the following tropes:
- Adaptational Sympathy: The Witch from Hansel and Gretel is rightfully pissed off at Wake and Chao for destroying her property, by eating all the candy. Doubles as Adaptational Badass as she is a muscle-bound bodybuilder in this.
- Adaptational Villainy: Here David Hasselhoff is an Eldritch Abomination seeking to control mankind and rule over the Earth.
- Advanced Tech 2000: The Wurst-o-mat 11000 is a device that can grind all kinds of animals into one sausage each.
- Affectionate Parody: Of Anime, Disney movies, video games etc.
- Alliterative Title: The video game GedärmeGemetzelGirl.
- Art Evolution: In the pre-StarStarSpace era, many of the characters had stick-like arms. They have actual arms starting with the "Crossover".
- Animesque
- The Bad Guy Wins: Wake just hands the puppies over to Belle ze Boob in Episode 25, not realising her not-so-subtle sinister motives.
- Continuity Nod: Although the series is not continuity-driven, there are few times where continuity is acknowledged:
- In Episode 4, Wake wins a volleyball match against the Futsi Sisters. In the first movie she still has the trophy.
- In Episode 10, Wake finds an injured cat and takes him to the hospital; later episodes still show Wake having Pushi.
- Similarly, Chao adopts Mrs. Killerknutsch in Episode 25, and still has her in later episodes.
- Crossover: Sort-of with StarStarSpace in Episode 34 (23 in StarStarSpace's order), where it's established that the aformentioned series is a Show Within a Show in the universe of Japanoschlampen.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: The first episodes each parodied one anime series, Chao and Wake spend most of their time in some empty field, since the urban setting where they lived wasn't established. Also Ass wasn't a main character yet.
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: The Ninja Shotgun Gemetzel video game series. It's carnage. By a Ninja. With a shotgun.
- Expy: Master Futsi looks very similar to Muten Roshi from Dragon Ball.
- Ass deliberately invokes this trope, being a fanboy of Pokemon.
- The Card Player from Episode 21 looks like the protagonist from YuGiOh.
- Belle ze Boob from Episode 25 is a parody of Cruella de Vil.
- Genre Shift: Started as a straightup episodic parody of Animes, then turned into a Slice of Life comedy series focusing more on the lives of the characters.
- German Humor
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Averted In-Universe, the second movie establishes said musician as an Eldritch Abomination.
- Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Wake to Chao.
- Missing Episode: In-Universe there is one of StarStarSpace. But we don't find out what it entails.
- Narrator All Along: Played for Laughs in the outro of Episode 10 with Pushi, the cat that Wake adopts. Due to coldmirror using the same voice for both of them.
- Overly Long Name: Apart from Wake, Chao and Meister Futsi (see [[Japanoschlampen the characters), some places have one of these.
- The cursed spring which temporarily turns Ass into a girl is in a park named Mazuki Yama Knatschni Tasawu Feng Tong Seng.
- There's a hostel named Komiyasakasowasanagashiwa.
- Nice Mean And In Between: Ass (the nice one), Wake (the mean one) and Chao (in-between).
- Pink Girl, Blue Boy: Wake is pink-haired and Chao blue-haired.
- Put on a Bus: While this tends to happen to Xiao, he hasn't been seen since Episode 18, where he hooks up with Kai's sister. His counterpart in the Alternate Universe from Episode 33 does show up.
- Self-Deprecation: The second half of the theme song is this. "Schlampig gezeichnet, schlampig animiert, total stumpfe Anime-Scheiße!" ("Sloppily drawn, sloppily animated, totally dull anime crap!")
- Show Within a Show: Technically speaking, coldmirror's own StarStarSpace.
- Stylistic Suck: As stated in the opening: "Schlampig gezeichnet, Schlampig animiert." (literally meaning "Sloppily drawn, sloppily animated.")
- Those Two Guys: Midori and Robasaan are mostly seen together.
- Two Guys and a Girl: Not at first, but Wake with Chao and Ass.
- Two Girls to a Team: Inverted, with the school class, Chao and Ass are the only boys in the class.
- Ultra Super Death Gore Fest Chainsawer 3000:
- The Ninja Shotgun Gemetzel (Ninja Shotgun Carnage) series, increasingly with each of the three parts.
- GedärmeGemetzelGirl (Guts Carnage Girl) from the parallel universe.
- Ultra Super Happy Cute Baby Fest Farmer 3000:
- Cutie Eichhörnchens Abenteuerländ (Cutie Squirrel's Adventure Land) from the makers of the Ninja Shotgun Gemetzel series.
- The cut USK12 (roughly PG-13) version of Vorlaut 4 turns out to be close to this.
- Unexplained Recovery: Frau Lehrerin is killed in the first movie, but every episode and the following movie after that she is shown to be very much alive.
- Unholy Matrimony: Xiao and Kai's sister Rai form a relationship in Episode 18.
- Water-Triggered Change: In Episode 21, Ass, in an obvious parody of Ranma ½, accidentally falls into a spring and is cursed to turn into a girl when wet. Ass doesn't seem to care about it that much and changes from his signature dick jokes to tit jokes.
- World of Technicolor Hair: Given that this is an parody of animes, this was expected. Specific examples include:
- Wake has pink hair: she got it from her dad.
- Chao has blue hair, with violet stripes.
- Wake's Okaasan has purple hair.
- Kai and her sister Rai Ichikawa have turquoise hair.
