Deliverance is a comedy-centric, episodic Web Animation series created by Pedro, or "PParreira".

The series centers around a trio of college-aged screwups named Jackoo, Dano, and Aisan, having just been fired from their last available job in their home city of Everance, end up seemingly getting a break when they find a note from a military organization sending out for fresh recruits. Hilarity Ensues in their endeavors to masquerade as soldiers.

On the other side of the spectrum, a delivery company called Raft Saga, headed by the sleazeball Artisan, is deciding on who will participate in the next big delivery for their company: a shipment of illegal weapons... to the same military organization.

This series has been in development for a while, with the first few episodes coming out in 2010-2012, and the most recent one being released in 2017.

Not to be confused with the 1972 film Deliverance.

Deliverance contains examples of:

  • Achievements in Ignorance: Dan covering the hole he dug with grass before attempting his climb above the wall saved Jack's and Aisan's lives; two extremely psychotic Vrauden Soldiers would've killed them brutally otherwise...
  • And This Is for...: Artisan delivers a punch to the front gate guard on behalf of Happy George, saying this verbatim.
  • Art Evolution / Animation Bump: And how. Compare this first episode's animation to this, and one starts to get a clear picture as to why each episode has been such a long wait!
  • Ax-Crazy: Captain Yahtze is very clearly unhinged, only furthered by his sanity literally shooting itself inside of his head. His very first, knee-jerk reaction to finding out that three college-age civilians managed to slip into his ranks was to pull out his gun on the trio. The only reason he didn't shoot them on sight is because it would reveal that his Instant Messenger Pigeon commmunication was a complete flop.
  • Ass Pull: Aisan tends to pull quite a few miracles out of nowhere, lampshading this with a troll face.
  • Badass Army: The Vrauden Force definitely falls into this.
Yahtz: It would be a suicide mission, alright... if we were not the VRAUDEN FORCE! Where every man of ours can kill at least five THOUSAND Spetznaz scum! *points to Aisan* Nine thousand for you.
  • Boke and Tsukkomi Routine: Dan and Jack regularly play with this both in and out of the main series. A lot of the humor revolves around Dan doing something stupid, and Jack pointing out how ridiculous he's being.
  • Cute Mute: Aisan is cute as a button, doesn't speak a word, and is still as ever-helpful and quirky as her friends.
  • Cliffhanger: Episode 7 ends with Jack and Dan looking down to see a grenade at their feet, in the middle of a firefight where they're outnumbered 900-4.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Most of the characters are this.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Artisan is not afraid to sabotage other companies in order to secure deliveries for his own; not to mention, he isn't above delivering illegal weaponry to psychotic military organizations. That said, he's still willing to punch out an armed soldier as revenge for his old coworkers.
  • Determinator: Artisan will deliver that package, or die trying!
  • Development Hell: An unfortunate side effect of the increased animation quality, as mentioned above. Lampshaded in Episode 7, with Dan acting as if 3 years had passed, despite Jackoo reminding him they'd only been riding in the boat for 5 minutes.
  • Dramatic Irony: Good lord, yes. A large chunk of the plot at the time of writing breathes this trope. To start with, Episodes 3 and 4 are almost entirely dedicated to the trio fooling Captain Yahtze into believing they're legitimate soldiers, while trying to worm their way out. THEN, after the events of Episode 5, the gambit switches to Yahtze trying to cover up his screw-up by going through with the mission with as few witnesses as possible. THEN, in episode 6, as Artisan very nearly makes his way towards Yahtze to get the package delivered, Yahtze rushes the Hardwhistle's departure under the belief that Artisan was really the health inspector that Alan called.
  • Didn't Think This Through: In Episode 5, having failed to climb the walls of the Vrauden Force compound, Artisan decides to just launch the package over the walls via catapult, and walks away... before realizing he still needs to actually talk to someone to get paid for it.
    • Captain Yahtz also suffers from this, but is much more justified in that he's had to essentially come up with his plan on the spot. While he's got a good enough plan given what he has to work with, he still hasn't decided what he's going to do with the trio after they clear the South Bay. This line best exemplifies it:
Yahtz: Do I keeeeep them? Do I whaaaaack 'em? Eh, that's for future Yahtz to figure out!
  • Epic Fail: Almost every episode has one:
    • The entirety of the trio's plot is started by Dan getting these constantly. They get fired from the coffee shop they work at because Dan caused an explosion in the kitchen... through the plain product of coffee. And the fails don't stop there; he attempts to tranquilize a bird later in the episode, only to end up using too big of a dart, causing the poor thing to get pierced through the chest.
    • Episode 3 has Dan do a terrible job at providing legitimate, believable lies. Case in point, when Yahtz marvels at the speed of their arrival, Dan gets the bright idea of bragging that they travelled "Pave-Low style"note , at which point Yahtz states he was told they arrived on foot. Cue Jackoo punching Dan upside the head.
    • Dan's not the only one who fails ridiculously at each turn; Episode 4 begins with Artisan monologuing about how to divide the shares for the delivery, only to realize nobody's driving the car, and he's been talking to himself the whole time. Cue sudden sharp turn railroaded by a tree, and Artisan's priceless expression.
    • Of course, Dan isn't immune to the treatment anyway; Episode 4 has him break off the windup key to a Nyan Cat toy, and falling off of the wall after climbing 900 feet.
    • Episode 6 has Dan and Aisan messing around with flash bangs, only to get Blinded by the Light. Then, Aisan somehow managed to vomit up another flash.
    • Episode 7 has a more justifiable one, as Captain Yahtz gives a clear explanation on what the battle plans are. Sadly, the radio static on the ship makes his speech nigh-unintelligible to the trio, causing Dan to mishear his orders to be "cautious and sneaky" as "obnoxious and freaky." Cue the trio waltzing onto the beach and firing in random directions nearly shooting Yahtz in the process, no less! But it doesn't end there; Aisan pulls the pin on a Holy Hand Grenade by accident while letting out a sigh of relief. After a brief round of Grenade Hot Potato, Yahtz exasperatedly chucks the grenade off into the distance. The explosion alerts the Speznatz to their location, and just as they climb out from the rubble the trio are stuck under fire.
      • Extra points for the fact that Yahtz threw the grenade in a random direction. The sheer power of that explosion could've probably annihilated the Speznatz camp!
  • Four-Star Badass: Captain Yahtz is able to survive having a building collapse on top of him after being socked hard enough to be launched into said building, and he's also the Captain of the local Vrauden Force regimen.
  • Gilligan Cut: In episode 4, Dan attempts to get them out of the Vrauden Force compound by digging under the wall. No matter how deep he goes, the wall still seems to be there. As he's deciding what to do next, a creeper rushes him from behind, and the camera cuts to the surface, with Dan having been exploded, but resolving to go above the wall.
  • Idiot Hero: Dan. When he's not failing to understand how dangerous the situation is, he doesn't seem to care.
  • Megaton Punch: Aisan delivers one to Yahtz when he's first meeting them. Despite it causing Yahtz to get a building dropped on him, he not only shrugs it off, but he develops a hearty respect for her!
  • Not So Above It All: Jackoo is no stranger to being silly, either. As a matter of fact, most of his grouchiness is usually a result of the severity of their situation or a lack of rainbows in his system.
Jackoo: You know what? I think we're gonna be just fine.
Aisan: *searches her pockets, and after a moment of confusion, launches a Death Glare at Jackoo*
Jackoo: *his eyes open, flashing in rainbow colors* Trust me, I need these happy shots.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Aisan has this. However, most of her color scheme is green anyway.
  • Sociopathic Soldier: Much of the Vrauden Force seems to be made up of them, as evidenced by both a few of the grunts' murderous tendencies, Raft Saga's accounts on their treatment of Happy George, and Yahtze completely snapping at first upon finding out Jackoo, Dano and Aisan aren't really soldiers.
  • Stealth Pun: In Episode 3, when Yahtze is attempting to greet the new recruits, Dan repeatedly goes on non-sequitors, ignoring the captain. Right up until Yahtze hurls what appears to be a broken teapot. This is the username of his voice actor.
  • Token Good Teammate: Anya is this for Raft Saga. She's the only one to have been against the delivery to the Vrauden Force from the very beginning; the rest of the company backs out, but only after they find out it's the Vrauden Force they're delivering to.
