WMG / Weapon X (2017)

• The Weapon X-Force cover on issue 22 has the team bursting through the cover of the old team pictures in issue #1. The positions may hint at the roles the characters will play going forward. Deathstrike & Domino are in their same old spots, hinting no change. However, Creed is the new leader & he's tearing through Logan's old picture. Omega Red is in Warpath's spot, so he may be Creed's right-hand, most devoted ally, and strongest team member. Finally Mystique is in Creed's old spot. Creed was the wild card who wasn't trusted, sometimes caused extra trouble for the team, and constantly had complaints about the leadership. This may be the role Mystique will occupy, especially given her track record of constant betrayal & manipulation of others. The first chapter of Weapon X-Force calls this out when it lists "shadiness" as one of her powers.

• Sabretooth's Inversion may be undone in issue 27. The solicit mentions him paying for the road he's taken in life & the cover has an upset Monet holding him tightly while he unravels like thread. Monet is shown to have a piece of his thread wrapped around her hand & finger, showing just how hard she's trying to hang on to him. Covers don't always tell the truth, but it doesn't paint a good picture -unless Monet actually does manage to keep him from fully "unraveling" before it's too late.
