The Party

  • Rhen is a runaway princess.
    • Fleeing an arranged marriage
    • #runawayroyaltyrhen, aka R^3
    • Still possible. Possible royalty tattoo
    • She has to run away from all of her old subjects that might recognize her. After Theia was done with the orb, Rhen was actually asking Theia if she saw the royal courier who's looking for her.
    • Rhen is going to get both rings and be able to control lightning
      • Not the first part, but Rhen did use the ring to control lightning in the final battle.
    • Actually, everyone in the party is royalty (see below).
  • The Holistic Secret Princess Party Theory: everyone in the party is secretly a princess.
    • Rhen: see above
    • Ari: The Luanzans have intermarried with enough noble lines that if you trace them all back, it turns out Ari's next in succession for at least one of them.
    • Jaima: Her home country is small enough that she happens to be like 7th in the line of succession, but then there's a plague at the palace and that one second cousin falls off a cliff...
    • Theia: Secretly the princess of Yale.
    • Hope: Tiefling genealogies have all been lost, until of course we find the right one, or better yet some mystical immortal recognizes the royal bloodline in Hope.
    • Aster: Aster is secretly a princess the same way he's secretly not an orphan. Oh yeah, his mom is queen of the halflings and one of his five older siblings is heir to the throne—did he never mention this before?
  • Hope has some sort of tie to Vecna, conscious or otherwise (given that she seems to avoid the rest of the order of Dol Arrah and blood magic feels kind of not good).
    • Slightly confirmed? The voice in Hope's head is Seth, who has Chosen her to prevent Vecna's return to the mortal plane.
  • Theia is...
    • Theia is actually a stable mother of two children
      • They are twins
      • named Ankarion and Skalya
    • Theia is using the power of Vecna to become the ultimate rock god.
      • Theia is the mortal incarnation of Vecna but doesn't know it yet.
    • Theia actually is Lord Caemian's long lost daughter and wasn't lying to the guards.
      • This is canon.
    • Theia is a secret agent from Harvard, here to infiltrate the Yale nobility.
    • Theia is a secret agent from Yale—Sorenson was surprised to see her because he expected her to be assigned elsewhere.
    • Theia is a totally normal commoner who just decided one day that she was bored with being a baker's apprentice or whatever.
      • This is basically canon (although she does have noble blood).
    • Theia is Ari's long lost half sister
      • Theia's Ari's long lost half sister, and her other parent was the king.
      • Ari is not an elf, and neither were the king or Ari's parents. So where did the elf bit come from?
      • The king was secretly an elf this whole time.
    • Everything that Theia has said is actually true and any contradictions can be explained by the fact that "Theia" is a set of triplets with the same name who interchange with each other at random
  • Aster is actually a pure evil Big Bad Chess Master, secretly planning everything behind the scenes
    • Aster's an innocent dupe. Puppy's the real evil mastermind.
    • Aster is slowly assembling an animal army to ravage the kingdom. Every dog, every bear, every squirrel is a step in his grand scheme
    • Aster's god isn't actually Hercules
    • Aster is actually possessed by a demon of pure evil
  • Ari has a long lost lover in the distant city state of Columbia. Possibly a cleric or paladin.
  • No matter where the party goes Jaima will continue to find old friends of hers. They will all be helpful and nice
    • Jaima actually has a long lost princess sister in the distant city state of Brown

The Plot

  • The DM is reading these theories and using the ones they like
    • Not yet, anyways. They were either already things or red herrings. ;)
  • The ultimate big bad will be the grad student the party lied to about the mini-griffins (after he finds out the truth about Harkness Tower and wants revenge against the party for lying, of course).
  • Calypso is going to die once things get serious to show the villain is Not-So-Harmless
  • In session 5, for whatever reason, the party will be unable to find a guide in the city that speaks draconic. After they leave the city, a guide appear out of nowhere, and will become friends with the rest of party. Once the party climbs up the mountain, they realize there is no dragon on the top. It turns out the guide was the dragon in mortal form and it all was a Secret Test of Character. He'll conclude the party is good, but can't take the orb. He'll let the party grab some stuff out of his stash though.
    • Jossed Drunk dragon is actually on top of the mountain
  • The party's next quest will actually be a matchmaking quest when the dragon agrees to keep the orb only if the party finds him a mate.
    • Jossed. He took the orb with relatively little incident
  • In session 6, the party is going to follow Theia into the labyrinth, where she'll play an awesome concert at the spooky pool, then the party will go home just fine.
    • Jossed. Theia entered the labyrinth only with Rhen in session 6. Whether there will be an awesome concert is yet to be seen.
  • Rhen and Aster are going to be working for opposing powerful forces. (To parallel the fact that Theia is influenced by a Vecna artifact while Hope is drawing power from Seth, and Jaima's working for Sorensen while Ari's working for Caemian.)
  • The creepy labyrinth pool in fact actually makes people unable to communicate through anything but song. Next session will be a musical session.
  • Every party member will have a mentor die some time soon.
  • Aster's going to get fed up with all the lies and force the party to speak the truth
  • Tris actually is a bastard child of the king. She and Ari just aren't aware of this yet.
  • Grace is secretly evil as well and is trying to trick us into helping Rag kill the people close to the new King
  • Lamora collected and wanted to use Rhen's ring to flood/destroy the city
    • Lamora is the person who is animating all the bones and old dead bodies in the Labyrinth
      • Jossed. It's semi-confirmed that that's Malikos (who to be fair is in league with Lamora).
  • In the last session
    • One of the party isn't going to make out of the labyrinth
    • Lamora reveals that she is actually a good person, battling some greater threat
    • One of the party betrays the group and reveals they've been working with a greater power
    • Tris will either have been kidnapped by Lamora or next in line for a lightning bolt
      • She probably was next in line for a lightning bolt, but Seth and the party held her off.
    • The party will spend the vast majority of the last session making their situation worse. In the last hour, Dol Arrah comes down from the sky and fixes it all.
    • Caemian actually has been working with Lamora all along
    • It turns out all the current villains are basically decent redeemable people after all. The actual final big bad is someone we haven't met.
    • Inryan is the final big bad. The party TP Ks within two rounds.
    • Vecna is the final big bad. The party TP Ks within one round.
    • The abstract concept of scheduling conflicts is the true big bad.

The World

  • The Pierson School of Magic is academically poorer than the Davenport School
    • The Pierson School has a larger pool of grant money to give out.
  • Pierson and Davenport are quite literally the same school. They just appear to be two separate schools because of magic.
  • The ancient dragon cities were destroyed by an alliance between the variously aligned humanoid gods.
  • Seth, Vecna, and Hercules are actually the only gods in this world. (They're the only ones we have direct proof of, and at least two things attributed to other gods-Hope's magic and Rhen's ring-are actually Seth.)
    • No gods actually exists in the world. Hope is actually crazy, Vecna is just a random dark spirit possessing the orb, and Aster summons up more magic when he gets riled up. Rhen was right when she said that the rings had a known mortal origin
      • Rhen thinks the rings are from Balinor, the god of nature.
