Tynian has made Ghnomb the troll god of espionage.
- The conversation Tynian had with the god of eat about their ‘mind-bellies’ seemed to have garnered the approval of the god. If trolls ever considered the concept of spying (‘thought-hunting’?), Ghnomb might have a somewhat larger portfolio.
Bevier will become the Precepter of the Cyrinic Knights
- With the near-destruction of the order, they will need to have their very best in charge to oversee reconstruction. Bevier is the only logical choice. Despite his desire to become a priest, he will almost certainly accept, knowing that it's for the greater good.
Talen being physically abused by his father and Berit is treated as humorous as the authors believed in harsh cruel discipline in real life
- Talen, a ten year old kid gets the crap beaten out of him by Berit (an almost full grown knight) for being "disrepectful" and everyone around them treats this as funny rather than child abuse. His father Kurik is also shown to be happy to threaten him with a belt on several occasions. Given the authors did hard time for physical abuse of their adopted children, they obviously saw no problem with adults battering children and this bled into the book's narrative.
