The claim that only Renans can use magic is a lie.
  • Option one for how Rinwell can use magic. The Renans spread the fiction that Dahnans cannot use magic as a means to control their population.
Rinwell is a Dahnan/Renan hybrid.
  • Option two for how Rinwell can use magic. Much like elves in Phantasia and Symphonia, the Renan ability to use magic is preserved when interbreeding with Dahnans.
    • All WMGs regarding Rinwell are jossed. Both her parents are confirmed Dahnans.
Rinwell isn't the one casting spells, Hootle is.
  • Option three for how Rinwell can use magic. Dahnan owls can use magic and Rinwell is taking advantage of that in order to fight.
    • All three of the above are Jossed. Rinwell comes from a family of Dahnan Mages and can use Magic naturally. Hootle is just an Owl she found and started taking care of, and Rinwell herself states that Dahnan Mages existed before Renans arrived. And actually before Renans themselves, as Renans are a Human Subspecies descended from Dahnan Mages.
The Renans committed genocide against the Dahnan mages.
  • Rinwell states that there were once many Dahnan mages, but not anymore. The Renans saw the existence of Dahnans that could use Astral Artes as a threat to their control, and wiped them out. If the original Dahnan mages were Dahnan/Renan hybrids, then it would also have been an ethnic cleansing.
    • Not entirely the case. The Dahnan mages were discriminated against by other Dahnans long before the arrival of the Renans, and the last of them (except Rinwell) were killed by Almeidrea simply because she wanted to learn how their Artes worked.
Not all Renans can use Astral Artes.
  • Since it is believed that only Renans are capable of using Astral Artes they use it as a symbol of their authority over the Dahnans. If the Dahnans found out that it is not a universal ability, they would start asking questions, so any Renans that can't use Astral Artes are not allowed to leave their planet.
    • Jossed. Renans are descendants of Dahnan magic users, so they can all use astral artes.
Alphen will be able to use other weapons
The opening movie shows five different colored orbs and Alphen drawing the Blazing Sword from the red one. Each of these orbs likely represents a different region, which are each confirmed to possess a different type of Astral energy. The orbs are the source of these weapons and only Alphen can use them because they are physically harmful to the wielder.
  • Alternatively these orbs could just change the elemental attribute of the Blazing Sword while still carrying drawbacks so only Alphen can use it. (I.E. the blue orb could grant water and ice attributes but is so cold that no one but Alphen can hold it.)
    • Jossed. Alphen only uses swords in the game.
Vholran is from Cyslodia.
  • He claims that his fellow slaves sold each other out, so it's possible he was a Cyslodian slave during Ganabelt or Ganabelt's predecessor's rule.
  • When he first appears in the story, he's in Cyslodia for seemingly no reason at all. If he wasn't there just to spy on Alphen, he may have returned to slaughter some of the zeugles that terrorized him in the past.
Vholran was once a rebel.
  • It's unlikely the Forbidden Zone scientists taught him how to wield a sword, so he would need to have prior combat experience. Additionally, no rebel group is present in Ganath Haros, and someone with experience as a rebel would know how to completely snuff them out.
Shionne can use Light Astral Artes because she is the Maiden.
  • It is supposed to be impossible for Renans to use Light artes, yet Shionne can do it even without DLC. In Cysloden, she says, "suck out the Light, and only Darkness remains." The process used to create the Renans presumably involved removing their Light Astral Energy and replacing it with Darkness. Whatever process goes into creating the Maiden may have restored the missing Light, leaving her as the only person other than Nazamil innately capable of using both Light and Darkness.
Vholran and Nazamil fought in the past and had a stalemate.
  • Due to Vholran's desire to stand at the top of the Renan hierarchy and rule over everyone, it's highly unlikely he would simply spare Nazamil after killing her father. Even with an incomplete Sovereign and Maiden crest, Nazamil is still the strongest Astral Arte user and could potentially be a threat to Vholran's position as Sovereign. As for why both are alive by the start of the main game, it's possible that Vholran's swordsmanship and combat experience allowed him to keep up with Nazamil's superior Astral power until both sides decided that it was too risky to continue the fight. Alternatively, Nazamil could have just used her invisibility to hide from Vholran long enough for him to lose interest.
