The monster was originally going to be the Zodiac Killer
- This would explain why he seems to just be a human at first, as well as him drawing the weird diagram and other Zodiac-related things. As for how he's still alive in 2008: he could be some kind of Evil Sorcerer, and the murders are done in order to somehow stop him from aging.
