If he's brought in, they will have to point out just how drastically different he is from the other Spider-Men, blowing holes in Miguel's ideas:
- His universe is completely stable in spite of him having almost none of the Canon Events.
- He's an athlete instead of a scientist.
- He got his powers from alien technology instead of a spider bite.
- He doesn't have his own version of an Uncle Ben or Captain Stacy (his dad died before he became Spider-Man).
- His Rogues Gallery is completely different to the point of not having any similar events involving characters like Green Goblin or Venom.
Earth-42 Prowler will be the
Big Bad of
Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Well, he was given the appearance as The Prowler except as a Variant, including serving as an
Evil Counterpart to Miles due to being a Variant of him from the dimension. It would make total sense since Miles have been chased by Miguel and the Spider-Society besides for two things that happened to due to Activation causing the Canon Events to happen.
- Okay, but why make the Spot as powerful as he was at the end? That would be stupid to have the Spot go through an Alchemax lab and become OP for nothing.
- It seems more likely that Miles-Prowler will be more akin to Sinister Strange, in that Miles will have to contend with the villain he easily could have become if things had gone a slightly different way, but the larger threat endangering the entire multiverse is the ultimate focus. Miles-Prowler might stick around for the whole movie if he pulls a Heel–Face Turn, but otherwise he'll just be a Villain of the Detour.
- Seemingly Jossed. The Across the Spider-Verse official artbook describes Miles G. Morales as a vigilante rather than a villain of Earth-42.
Possible future members of Gwen’s team
Despite them currently only consisting only nine members so far that departing from the Spider-Society so far, there is a chance that a few more could join over in
Beyond the Spider-Verse.Most of them may be working for Miguel including on protecting the Spider-Verse, but a few do at least have care, concern, and sympathy towards Miles despite chasing him.
- Jessica Drew
- The Spectacular Spider-Man
- Insomniac Spider-Man (as well as his Miles)
- Silk
- Spider-Wolf
- Night-Spider
- Sakura Spider
- Spider-Man 1602 (Peter Parquagh)
- Spider-Kid
- Spinstress
- Kaine Parker/Scarlet Spider
- Aaron Aikman
- Takuya Yamashiro
- Web-Weaver
- Web-Slinger and Widow
- Considering that Willow seemed to take a liking to Miles, it's a possibility.
Possible Alternate Spiders
I mean there is going to be another film of the Spider-Verse, which is
Beyond the Spider-Verse.The future sequel could likely introduce as well as still have few spiders make a cameo including as well as have a few join the cast on helping Miles stop the Spot and Miguel in the third film.Since
Beyond the Spider-Verse will be resolving as Part Two of Spider-Man
Across the Spider-Verse, it would make sense since a few of them including the other animation, video game, and live-action ones haven’t appeared yet.

Why Miguel is chasing after Miles
For some reason, Miguel and the Spider-Society are chasing despite him being a Spider-Hero as well. It could be possible that he is trying to go to another dimension, is trying to prove to Miguel that he can join the Spider-Society, or worse that his future Variant is Miles.
The Spider-Society will be called out.
Because of how they were at least chasing Miles, it is likely that they will be called out as well.
Because of how he was chased by Miguel and the Spider-Society as well as because of doing his best to be Spider-Man to save people. Miles/Prowler will convince his Variant on joining him because of how he just wanted to help people including protecting the multiverse.
- Or, just saying, it will be inverted and Miles Variant will help Miles in taking out the Spot.
When Miguel claims on trying to be a “good guy”, he will finally be ripped a new one by Gwen, Peter B. and the rest of the Spider-Gang for his actions, how he treated Miles when all he wanted to do was help, how far he's going to "keep the Canon intact" and how
he considers himself a “hero” when in reality he is barely even a good leader, is hostile to anyone he considers as a threat or an anomaly for little to no reason, and doesn’t even give them a chance, like Miles, all culminating in Gwen asking Miguel, "
What about your daughter? What would she think of you if she could see what you're doing right now?"Once he gets called out, Gwen, Peter, and the rest of the Spiders from the Spider-Gang will abandon him, leaving him alone.
Once he gets
called out for his brutality as well as barely being a leader including a Spider-Man, also for being too harsh on Miles, he will realize his actions as well as regret them.
Someone will take Miguel's place as leader of the Spider-Force
spoiler:Because of how hostile Miguel is towards Miles despite being claimed to be helping him as a defender in which he has been nothing but very cynical and harsh towards his teammates including Miles friends such as Gwen and Peter. With Gwen having made her own spider team, there are possibilities on who could take his place as leader of the Spider-Society who can be benevolent.
The Spider-Society will help stop the Spot
Despite having been ordered by Miguel to chase Miles for presumably an incident that happen before he attempted to escape, there are
a few Spider-Man, who have helped rescue people as well as stopped supervillains over time.Because of how they're likely concerned for Miles, want what is best for him, as well as let him know on how much Spider-Man is an important role to him, they’ll likely regret chasing him and will start beginning to help him take down the Spot from destroying the multiverse.
Miles is not the original anomaly
Setting aside the holes in Miguel's claim (Miles wasn't involved in summoning spider 42, Miles doesn't glitch in his home dimension), even if Miles does count as an anomaly, he isn't the first. Miguel is, thanks both his time traveling and dimensional hopping. So he's not just an anomaly, he's a paradox; he saw the anomalies, attributed them to Miles, traveled back before Miles, stood in for his dead self to have another chance with his daughter, and triggered everything.
Insomniac Spider-Man will be on Miles’ side.
After hearing what Miguel said about Miles, Insomniac Spiderman will immediately side with Miles … after all he’s the mentor to the Miles Morales of his world and will take offense to the very idea that Miles didn’t deserve to become Spiderman. He might even bring his Miles along to help him out.
The child Jefferson sacrifices himself for during Spot's attack will be Mayday.
Though the figure of the kid in Miles' vision was unspecific this could have just been vague and subject to change in Part 2.
Rather than Earth-42 Jefferson just dying, his death was caused by Miles/Prowler
The audience expectation is that his father's death probably drove him to be E-42's Prowler, but this could be subverted with Miles from this universe being more inherently evil rather than a tragic villain.
A good chunk of the film will be Gwen, Peter B., and Peni working to repair their relationship with Miles.
Even if they do save him from E-42 Miles, he’s not just going to forgive them instantly for the Secrets they kept and their part in the trap. Pavitr, Hobie, Margo, Noir, and Ham may have to
play intermediaries until they can earn back his trust. It might be an easier time for Spider-Byte, as she let him go.
- Hobie would probably be Gwen's best proof that her team isn't trying to capture Miles, as Hobie was the only Spider-Society member who helped Miles escape from the Start. Miles likely doesn't know whether Noir and Ham were Society members or not, and even if he didn't see them, Pav or Peni, he could reasonably guess that they were somewhere in the Spider-horde chasing him.
The two versions of Miles were originally "meant" to have the opposite fates
Earth-42 has no Spider-Man or other costumed heroes, potentially implying that Peter is either dead or doesn't exist at all in this universe. If the Spider hadn't been taken from this dimension, it would have somehow found its way to this world's version of Miles and bitten him. Without any version of Peter to mentor him after gaining his powers, Jefferson's death would have then been an Uncle Ben moment that inspired this version of Miles to become Spider-Man.Meanwhile, Earth-1610 already had a version of Peter Parker as its Spider-Man, while prior to being bitten, Miles was spending most of his time hanging out with and being influenced by his Uncle Aaron. If the collider incident hadn't occurred, 1610's Peter would have survived while Miles would have eventually followed in his uncle's footsteps. But due to the events of the first film, their roles have been directly flipped. 1610's Miles was bitten and gained powers instead, with Peter and later Aaron's deaths then inspiring him to take over as Spider-Man. Meanwhile, without the Spider to give him powers or a version of Peter to mentor him, 42's Miles was driven even more towards his uncle after Jefferson's death and became the new Prowler.
- And should E-42 Miles learn this, he may try to kill our Miles in retribution for stealing his destiny.
As a callback to the villains of the original Spider-Verse, and in the Sense that he has "inherited" the dimensional powers from the colliders of the multiverse
A major character will die in the process of stopping the Spot.
The candidates include:
- Gwen, due to the canon fate of every other Gwen.
- Peter B. due to Mentor Occupational Hazard.
- Jefferson could sacrifice himself to save Miles and preserve the multiverse.
- Jesica Drew. Black Dude Dies First, Mentor Occupational Hazard and Retirony.
- Miguel as part of Redemption Equals Death. Given how a Central Theme of the movie involves defying the preexisting fate of losing a loved one, it is clearly setting up Miles and Gwen to defy fate and save both the entire multiverse and his father, Miguel seems the most likely of all the Spider-People to die. As mentioned below, he might even believe his death is a Canon Event.
- Gwen, Peter B. and Jefferson are unlikely to lose their lives in Beyond the Spider-Verse. Jefferson stands out in particular as he is the one that Miles is trying to save - there was a setup for him in the next film to manage to do both, and his death would render that pointless and prove Miguel's point.
The Spot is the ultimate cause of "canon" in the Spider-Verse.
the Spot has become a transcendent being across the multiverse. It's possible this includes time as well. His hatred for Miles may extend to all Spider-People. His attacking of Jefferson could be just the first step in torturing every iteration of Spider-Man in the multiverse by manipulating reality itself to cause those tragedies. Note that there doesn't seem to be any concern for the canon of other Marvel characters, only Spider-Man. Defeating the Spot will ultimately end the cycle of tragedy for Spider-Man.
Jess will end up joining Gwen’s team
- When Jess is looking in on Gwen talking to Jefferson and Rio, there appears to be a look on her face as though she acknowledges Gwen has noble intentions despite Jess’s loyalty to the Spider-Society. Presumably Miguel will go too far in his attempt to subdue Miles, and Jess will fight back, turning her allegiance to Miles and Gwen.
Miguel will die in Beyond
Jess is a Skrull
- Mainly due to her status as a hodge-podge of comic Jessica Drew's 'Best Bits'. Whether that ends up being relevant to her actions or not is unknown; possibly it's just another tick on the proverbial list.
Kingpin and Doctor Octopus will appear in Beyond the Spider-Verse
- It was the Supercollider experiment that gave the Spot his powers, so naturally they should know what to do in order to stop Jonathan. In addition, Olivia became stranded on Earth-42 after her hilariously anticlimactic defeat inInto the Spider-Verse, and she'll be forced to form an alliance with Miles so they can escape. Finally, bonus points if they have Kingpin quote his counterpart from Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
Because of how he is still hunting down Miles despite their already being two threats, the Spot, and Earth-42 Prowler, it will take him to encounter one of these in a
Heel Realization.Once one of them ends up giving him
“The Reason You Suck” Speech to him, it will cause him to realize how much his actions have almost got everyone killed and hurt him.
- Combined with a WMG, he will have a realization due to meeting two alt-selves - a more heroic version and more villainous one.
Because of how she is still hunting down Miles despite their already being two threats, the Spot, and Earth-42 Prowler, it will take her to encounter one of these in a
Heel Realization. Not to mention on how she is having second thoughts on hunting down Miles, so it is highly likely she’ll regret being hard on both Gwen and Miles..
Because of how they are still hunting down Miles despite their already being two threats, the Spot, and Earth-42 Prowler, it will take them to encounter one of these in a
Heel Realization.
Because of how they are still hunting down Miles despite their already being two threats, the Spot, and Earth-42 Prowler, it will take them to encounter one of these in a
Heel Realization.
The Spider-Society will pull a
You Shall Not Pass! against Miguel to try and redeem themselves to Miles
- Upon realizing how far-gone Miguel is in his pursuit of Miles and desire for order when they see how Miles' theory of change can be possible, they would ensure Miguel doesn't get to him, both as an apology for trapping him, and their way to finally atone for letting so many versions of their loved ones die and being seemingly unable to stop it.
The two Miles will have to team up to take down the Sinister Six Cartels, who are displaced multiversal villains like Vulture, in order for our Miles to escape Earth-42.
Despite seemingly being a major reason the Spider-Society formed, we haven't seen many displaced multiversal villains (beyond Renaissance Vulture in Spider-Gwen's universe at the beginning of the film) so far; one of the last things we hear as Miles is stranded in the almost post-apocalyptic Earth-42 is J. Jonah Jameson talking about the "Sinister Six Cartels" running amok. These Six Cartels are likely going to be led by six displaced multiversal villains, all competing against each other for control of Earth-42. Miles-Prowler may be running one of them. Here are potential candidates for who may be running the other cartels:
- 1610 Doc Ock/Olivia Octavius - We haven't seen her since she got mowed down by a truck inside the collider in the first movie; perhaps she was jettisoned to Earth-42 and immediately began taking over the place for her own use with no Spider-Man to stop her.
- Kron Stone/Venom 2099 (or another member of Miguel's Rogues Gallery) - There's more to Miguel's origin we don't know yet, and who better to let Miles in on it than one of Miguel's adversaries? I chose Venom because he's canonically Miguel's older half-brother and they love drama like that, but any of Miguel's rogues could be adapted.
- Adrian Toomes/Spider-Gwen's Vulture - If Renaissance Vulture ended up in the wrong universe, who's to say he wasn't swapped out with Spider-Gwen's? I would make this less likely than the above two, but it's been at least moderately set up.
The rest of the Sinister Six Cartels could be made up interpretations of Spidey's villains like Renaissance Vulture, but they could also be villains from past Spidey media should they choose to bring them back like they did the alternate Spideys. Here are candidates that could show up, but I would put in the category of less certain:
- The 90s Animated Series incarnation of Kingpin - The most powerful and iconic animated version of the character, and it would make sense to bring in another Kingpin Variant in a "Sinister Six Cartel" variation. Alternatively, this could be the 90s version of Richard Fisk, now operating as The Rose, since Nick Jameson is still alive and Roscoe Lee Browne is not.
- Steve Blum Green Goblin (Spectacular Green Goblin) - same reason as 90s Kingpin and wouldn't require much explanation beyond just being another Gobby. Contrasts Ultimate Goblin from the first movie very well. Cool weapons, cool voice, he's just neat. Tombstone is another candidate if they want to use a major Spectacular villain, but I think Gobby is easier to explain.
- Some incarnation of Electro - Whether it be the New Animated Series "school shooter metaphor" version of Electro or an animated incarnation of Jamie Foxx's Electro, I'm shocked we haven't seen hide nor hair of one of Spidey's most iconic villains throughout any of these movies. Just throwing ourselves into having to stop him could be a really fun way to use him.
- Michael Mando Scorpion - A man can dream, right? Donald Glover's Prowler was a great live action cameo, and if the MCU isn't gonna use him, why not put Michael Mando in full classic Scorpion gear (or maybe the bulkier bulldozer-like Smythe Suit from the comics) as one of Miles' multiversally-displaced Earth-42 adversaries.
Miles-Prowler's conditions for helping Spider-Miles get back home might be helping him take down the other cartels, giving Miles an obstacle to overcome in order to return home and save his father.
Miguel knows what happens if the canon is broken.
Although it was played that he was unsure of what would result from breaking the canon, it may be a scenario that he needs to keep secret from the rest of the Spider-Society as a means to protect them.
Miguel caused the death of the Captain Stacy of Earth-26496 by telling that Peter about the Canon Event theory and making it a
Self-Fulfilling Prophecy by throwing Peter off his game when Stacy was in danger.
If so, maybe he will find a way to undo that (and maybe the deaths of other police captains) after realizing what he did.
Earth-92131 Peter will make a cameo, having long since reunited with the Mary Jane of his world, maybe due to help from the Spider-Society that makes him feel conflicted about where to stand in their conflict.
Miles Warren and/or the Green Goblin from Earth-26946 will be
The Man Behind the Man for the Spot, as bringing one or both of them down will bring a lot more closure to that show.
Takuya Yamashiro will bust out
Leopardon against the Spot
Just for the Sheer awesomeness of bringing that exact moment from
Spider-Verse to the big screen and having Takuya say "I am the emissary of Hell, and I shall fight this great evil for the fate of the multiverse!"
- Bonus points if it's for a Big Damn Heroes moment when it looks like the Spot has the upper hand.
After the Spot is defeated, the Spider-Society will start to relax.
..And then the
Council of Kangs come storming in to prevent the Spiders from becoming a threat to their plans for multiversal domination, ending the series on a
Bolivian Army Ending until the end of the multiverse Saga.
Miguel is this movie multiverse's version of an Inheritor.
Between his dimension being way too pristine for a version of the 2099 universe, him being compared to a vampire multiple times and his overall villanous tendencies and bullshit reasonin, the third movie will reveal that he's not truly Miguel O'Hara, and instead wants to gather spider-people for some nefarious purpose. Miles status as a cross-dimensional Spider-Man will somehow be key to defeating him, thus why he wants to keep him in the dark, and then under control, by all means.
Earth-42 Prowler is in truth an anti-hero
While Miles-42 is angry at our Miles for "stealing" the Spider that could have given him superpowers, his reason is that he feels like he could have been stronger to fight crime. His New York is a
Wretched Hive with extremely high levels of crime that also claimed the life of Jefferson. The loss left Miles devastated and Aaron, unable to stop his nephew from wanting revenge on the gangs and crime families of New York, decided to help him rather than see him throw his life away uselessly.
The way Aaron-42 and Miles-42 act towards Miles is a natural reaction to seeing another Miles appear from nowhere, especially if they previously met a version of the Chameleon, but in the next movie Miles will eventually be able to reach out to them.
Lizard 42 mentors Prowler 42.
Peter mentors Miles in universes where both are Spiders. Peter is The Lizard in Gwen's universe. the Sinister Six exist on Earth-42.It would fit the themes neatly if the Peter Parker Lizard was mentoring the Miles Morales Prowler.
A smallish time skip will happen between the events of Across the Spider-Verse and Beyond the Spider-Verse. The next time we see Gwen's Spider-Gang, there will be more Spider-People convinced and/or swayed to join her search for Miles in Earth-42 and fight against the Spider-Society & the Spot

The Spot's defeat:
- Given how it's established that the Spot can "run out" of spots, leaving him completely white (in fact, we see him comment on this as he's talking about his holes), the dark matter he absorbed from the collider likely gave him a massive top-up of energy, allowing him to create larger portals without running out of supply that easily. That said, if the Spider-Gang (and the rest of the Spider-Society, for that matter if possible), can force him to expend enough of this energy for parts of his body to become white, they have a chance to defeat him for good. All they need to do is run down the clock.
We'll get some insight into what Noir, Peni, and Spider-Ham have been up to
- Noir and Ham weren't part of the Spider-Society at all, meaning they either didn't get invited, or Miguel purposefully kept them away for whatever reason. While Peni is a part of that group, she looked absolutely miserable in the brief amount of screentime she's given, which could imply she suffered another traumatic event offscreen.
Miles' guidance counselor, Ms. Weber, is actually Madame Web.
The Electro Army will appear
They'll attack Spider-Society's base in Nueva York and their powers mess up the dimension hopping technology, which means Miguel can't call upon the entire organization when the need arises. Some of the Electros we briefly see could be;
- The Max Dillon from The Spectacular Spider-Man, who'll naturally single out his world's Peter.
- The one from Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, who'll dance instead of fight.
- The Francine Frye (presumably) from Spidey and His Amazing Friends, pushing Non-Standard Character Design to its limit.
- The Max Dillon from Spider-Man: The New Animated Series, inexplicably alive/revived.
- The Bestial eel from Spider-Man Unlimited, who could eat Spider-Cat.
- The one from Marvel Future Fight, animated in the same style as the mobile game.
- Aftershock from Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, since she could possibly still be Electro's daughter.
- the Skrull who posed as Electro in the Web Warriors comic.
- The Chinese Electro from the Web Warriors comic.
- The black, female version from Marvel's Spider-Man.
- The Electro who only seen as an illusion in Spider-Man: Fake Red, who'll briefly have a line spoken in Japanese.
- Noir Electro
- A Marvel Zombies Electro, kept on a leash as a reference to Shaun of the Dead.
Miguel will attempt to actively enforce a Canon Event by killing someone who’s “supposed” to die.
…which will be the Straw that broke the camels back for the rest of the Spider-Society, who aren’t willing to
break one of their greatest rules for the Sake of the greater good.
Gwen and Miles will end Beyond on good terms, but no longer together.
While Gwen's motives, thought processes and actions are very much understandable and justified by where and how she was at that point, it still made things that much worse for Miles, who was already going through some pretty rough patches in life himself. We as the audience see where she's coming from, but it's evident that Miles lost all trust in her by the time he escaped the Spider-Society, because
Poor Communication Kills and everything she could've said or done came too little too late for him, especially at the mercy of his alternate reality self.I can definitely see Miles and Gwen patching things up in
Beyond...to a degree. They'll talk things out, maybe even become friends again, but all that damage can't be just undone so simply. He'll likely lose his crush on her and move on, end the next movie on hopefully a good note, but when Gwen's actions get addressed I don't see him and her together again afterwards just like that.
- Then their exchange of "And in every other universe, it doesn't end well." - "There's a first time for everything, right?" would have served no purpose.
Not only does he have experience saving the multiverse from the Spot, this would also give him the opportunity to
finally solve the 30-year cliffhanger of looking for his MJ somewhere in the multiverse.
- The second part may be Jossed in light of X-Men '97 revealing he and Madame Web succeded. Of course, they could still reveal how they found her.
- There's also another reason for him to be part of Gwen's team: He met a Spider-Man Variant whose Gwen Stacy and Uncle Ben are still alive.
Jefferson's death actually isn't supposed to be the Canon Event.
In fact, if the Spot succeeds in killing Jefferson, not only will Earth-1610 NOT remain stable if it happens, but it'll actually kickstart an apocalyptic cataclysm that'll end in the annihilation of the entire Spider-Verse. Now wouldn't that be cruelly ironic?
Presumably once he’s drained of his powers and possibly dying, he will lament how he came to be this evil abomination, and Miles (and maybe the other Spider-People) will take pity on him.
A different version of Miguel will appear as a Foil
A different Spider-Man 2099 (likely based on either the Timestorm 2099, Exiles, or Shattered Dimensions versions) will appear and be on Miles's side, heavily disagreeing with the Spider-Society version's stance on Canon.
In a bit of an
Author's Saving Throw, the Sequel will reveal that there's actually more to Ben than parodying the
'90s Anti-Hero archetype. Specifically, it'll be acknowledged that he's arguably Miles's predecessor as the first attempt to turn Spider-Man into a legacy as well as someone who desperately struggled with both his identity and the weight of the moniker. He'll be the one to call out Miguel for his bullshit,
shocking everybody with his sudden wise demeanor, and rally everybody to abandon Miguel to join Miles in stopping the Spot. Hell, let's also hope that he and Peter B. even acknowledge each other.
He realises that part of how he's able to achieve his current state without interference is due to
Miles' and Miguel's personal confrontation getting in the way of directly confronting him earlier on, so he purposely causes Miguel's
Start of Darkness in order to spark his "Canon Event" theory which was the cause of their conflict to begin with. This earns him the ire of Miguel once he learns the truth.
- For all we know, he used his powers as a Cosmic Flaw to destroy the alternate Nueva York preemptively, gaslighting Miguel into inventing the "Fixed Canon" Theory and essentially creating an army of irony out to get Miles.
- Spot will likely discover Miles' friendship with Gwen and Peter, so them going cold towards him is by design. If it isn't this that has caused Peni to become morose, whatever happened to her in itself could be Spot's doing, to say nothing of Ham and Noir's situations.
Miles' parents will find out about him being Spider-Man by the end, one way or the other. It might even save Jeff's life.
Miles says he's done being afraid of his parents knowing about him being Spider-Man and being trapped in the home dimension of the Spider that bit him at the mercy of his Prowler counterpart is likely not going to change that at all. Either it is most likely the first thing he'll try to tell them when he makes it back to his home dimension and/or they'll somehow see a hologram of him and eavesdrop on him baring his soul about how being Spiderman has taken its toll on him and his loved ones, how much he's been screwing up to the point he missed his Dad's speech and how he and who knows whoever else is in danger because he became Spiderman. Jeff will flash back to all his moments with the new Spiderman and it just clicks.Maybe knowing Miles is Spider-Man plays a part in saving him without risking the multiverse. And for the heck of it, might even lighten his grounding sentence because the reason he was grounded was because he was Spider-Man.
Miguel O'Hara is creating Spider-People deliberately.
Why would a spider from Earth-42, created by the Alchemax of Earth-42, be LABELED 42? All the Alchemaxes are subsidiaries of the original and working to deliver designer spiders to anyone Miguel thinks should be a Spider!
- Unless we’re talking about a second Miguel here, the first movie already established he only figured out multiverse travel well after the Spider had bitten Miles.
Miguel's not telling the whole truth
All Miguel's said is that he crossed dimensions, Nueva York's Miguel was killed by a criminal, and he took his place and accidentally messed up the canon. What if his deal (and his need to stop Miles) is that he's covering up how
he killed Miguel-928, and
he's the original anomaly who was never meant to be Spider-Man?
Miles-42 is going to be his dimension's Spider-Man
The trilogy's Earth-42 and Earth-1610 are an extended metaphor for how many kids in
Real Life grow up to be good or bad people depending on the people and environment around them. It's fairly clear that Miles-42 was just about to be bit by the Spider before it was sent to the wrong dimension, and if not for 1610's dad being around for him and Alchemax teleporting the Spider, it may have been
our Miles that grew up to be the Prowler. And what better way to address that (and to disprove Miguel for good) than for Miles-42 to be the Superhero that he was supposed to be all along?
Peter B. will lose his leg fighting the Spot in the climax
We've already seen the Spot use his power to portal cut a webline, who's to say he doesn't get more ruthless about what he severs with it? Peter B. with daughter Mayday in tow is looking more like the Peter Parker of the original Spider-Girl comics that feature her as a teen- a world where Peter lost his leg in a fight with the Green Goblin and had to retire from being Spider-Man. Perhaps ol' Peter B. is destined to lose his leg like his comics counterpart, forcing his retirement at the film's climax, but leading to potential future Spider-Girl films.
Jessica will be called out by Gwen
Despite having helped Gwen takes down the Vulture, she was nothing but stricter, cynical, and abusive towards her protégé Gwen unlike her other counterparts who were nothing but kinder to people. Not to mention she was talking down Miles as well as chasing him, even going on preventing him from saving his own father despite that their already being both threats, the Spot and Earth-42 Prowler (aka Miles) on the loose. She will be
called out as well as being given
“The Reason You Suck” Speech by Gwen, her former protégé, for being too hard on her, being cynical and stricken as well for not wanting to help stop the Spot. Once she gets call out by Gwen, she will have a
Jerkass Realization as well as start to
feel guilt of her actions.
Despite being a colder
Evil Counterpart Version of Miles, he does appear to care about his father, as it is heavily implied that He and Aaron did a graffiti of him.Because of how Miles was trying to reason with him and Earth-42 Aaron despite them being
Evil Counterpart versions of him and his late uncle.
Despite being a colder
Evil Counterpart Version of
The Prowler, he does appear to care about his brother, as it is heavily implied that he and Miles did a graffiti of him.He appeared to be an Evil Alternate Version of The Prowler like presumably being
the original one .Despite having guided his nephew into the life of crime and capturing Miles, He does appear to care about his family not to mention that he missed his brother provided for his sister-in-law, and likely took care of his nephew even though he had him turned into The Prowler.Because of how Aaron cared about his nephew since he spared him and sacrificed himself despite knowing he would get wounded, it could be possible that Aaron will let Earth-42 Miles and Miles to leave on stopping the Spot from killing his father.
Jessica Drew will become more
kinder Beyond the Spider-VerseDespite having been
taking a level in jerkass such as being hard in Gwen such, chasing Miles, or not even doing anything to help Gwen, she did felt some guilt and concern for her despite having been a jerk to her and the few others as well showing regret once she overheard Gwen telling Mile’s Parents that he is in danger, because of how the latter is stuck in another dimension.
Jessica lost her husband or her father
Well, when she and Miguel met Gwen she was kinder as well as helped Gwen stopped The Anomaly Vulture. While she was being a
Jerkass to Gwen and a few others including Miles, it does heavily implied that she just lost someone she loved, presumably either her husband, child, or father which could explain her selfish, cynical, and stricken personality.
- Adding onto this, perhaps losing whoever she lost was Jessica’s Death by Origin Story as most Spider-People lost someone close to them showing them that they cannot save everyone.
Miguel will narrate his backstory in the opening prologue for Beyond
Blond Peter narrated himself in the first movie, Gwen in the Second which
fleshed it out more, both before shifting focus to Miles. Guess in the third, Miguel's origins and backstory (such as his job at Alchemax, the Rapture drug, the gene-splicing, and his brother Gabriel) will be delved into for the opening before picking back up on the last movie's cliffhanger.
If Jefferson and Rio stopped to think about it, this kid-looking superhero in some ways
remind them of Miles but much more of a
Deadpan Snarker, that alongside the grade-checker woman in the beginning saying something along the lines of "He's lying, and you already know why."
So maybe their frustration with Miles isn't because he's keeping his identity a secret, but because for all they know, Miles doesn't trust his family? When you think back to
The Spectacular Spider-Man, the George Stacy there is heavily implied to know Peter's identity and doesn't think less of him for it. Then look at the fact that when Miles has to go vanish for something villain-related, Spider-man appears and vice versa. There are too many obvious signs.
Part of Miles and Gwen's arc is the fear that they could never be together because of how the multiverse works.
Even if they actually get around to confess their feelings (don't deny it, the tension is there), other spiders from the Spider-Society will see it too and try and talk them out of it. If Miles getting powers from an alternate spider could cause such catastrophe (according to Miguel, anyway), imagine how they would react when Miles or Gwen humor the idea of visiting each other constantly, or one deciding to move in with the other, or dating, marriage,
children. Would children even be possible, since their molecules need to be artificially stabilized just so they could interact? How the hell would "canon" work with two individuals who fall under the same archetype acting full-time while the other's world loses a spider? These are questions that will be asked. Knowing Miles, their answer will basically be "I don't know, but we'll make it work."
Madame Web will have a major role
It makes sense, considering a film starring Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney is in the works. A Madame Web appearance could help introduce audiences to character. She could also better explain the intracies of the Spider-Verse that have been overlooked or ignored by Miguel and Layla's algorithim. This could ultimately legitimize Miles as a true Spider-Man in the eyes of the Spider-Society.
The true architect of Spider-Society is the Superior Spider-man
Peter Parker's body hijacked by Otto Octavius is the true architect of Spider-Society's technology, mission and mythologized 'Canon'In Superior Spiderman, Otto was motivated to be a hero after witnessing and experiencing Peter Parker's memories, particularly the ones of his losses, the deaths of Uncle Ben, Gwen Stacy and Captain Stacy. Like Miles, his altered costume eschews the classic blue and red for black and red. And also like Miles, he took over the mantle of Spider-man after his world's Peter Parker perished (though at Otto's hands).Otto's tenure as the Superior Spider-man saw him try to optimize the protection of New York City's residents, employing an army of robots and minions. This methodology falls in line with how Miguel runs the Spider-Society.Moreover, Otto and Miguel actually have a run-in during the Superior Spider-man era and Miguel even assists Otto in dealing with the Goblin Nation. It's entirely possible that while Miguel started the Spider-Society to deal with multiversal issues, Otto is actually the one pulling the Strings, in an attempt to optimize the protection of the multi-verse.In particular, his belief that Canon Events are important for the creation of a Spider-man to help protect a dimension and its people would explain why the idea of the Canon has been pushed so hard. It would also not be beyond Otto to employ some light brainwashing to ensure the co-operation of all Spider-people.
- Alternatively, Otto will reveal to be a big bad manipulating the Spider-Society in order to rule the multiverse out of ego-driven "heroism."
A good portion of the Sequel would deal with Gwen and her Spider-Group trying to regain Mile’s trust
Since Gwen, Peter B. and Peni had known about the truth about Miles’ circumstances and were once fighting to ensure that his father died (with Miles even believing that Peter B. had given his location to Miguel while talking about Mayday as an way to distract him), his trust in every other Spider-Man is completely broken, even in the innocent Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Ham. As such, he will wrongfully think that Gwen and her team would be only coming after him simply to keep him from stopping his father’s death and do whatever he can to avoid them, resulting in a lot of confrontations where the others plead for him to trust them and to understand that they have no intent of sacrificing his father or anyone else anymore.
Earth-42 isn't simply another universe - it's a possible
Bad Future of Earth-1610
Aaron-42 and Miles-42 are both visibly older than their 1610 counterparts, with Miles-42 being taller than Miles-1610 and Aaron, who was Jeff's
younger brother, sporting a full, gray beard and implied to have passed down the role of Prowler to Miles due to advancing age. The mural of Jeff Davis seems to indicate that he died at or close to the age we see him portrayed in Earth-1610. It's possible that this is a branching path of what happens
because Jeff was supposed to live in this universe but there was no Spider-Man to save him.
Wilson Fisk will make an appearance as the Mayor of New York-42.
He's typically a
Villain with Good Publicity in many of the universes where someone hasn't yet stopped him. This would also be a nod to the 616 Universe where this actually
does happen in one comic run. In this case, his role (also in something of a nod to the Insomniac game) is as something of a
Load-Bearing Boss whose removal would cause an
Evil Power Vacuum that would be filled with far more volatile criminal elements.
What
actually happened to the universe that was erased in Miguel's backstory will be revealed, and whoever
/whatever was responsible will be the
Big BadA 'backup spider' will be revealed in Earth-42, allowing for the creation of a new Spider-Man for that universe. This also doesn't guarantee said Spider-Man (or -Men) will be heroic.
The Spider that bit Miles-1610 was numbered 42.
This presumably means specimens 1 through 41 existed at some point, which means someone in that universe was trying to genetically engineer them. #42 gave Miles a completely different set of powers that seem to be unique to him. There's a decent chance, therefore, that #42 wasn't the only specimen that could "create" a Spider-Man, or if it was, then it isn't any longer because it was the one that cracked the formula. There's also a decent chance, because we're dealing with genetic engineering in a superhero universe, that whoever has or had the tech to engineer these spiders didn't have wholesome intentions for them.
'Home' by Vince Staples will play at some point in the movie.
As a
Bookends to the Spider-Verse franchise and perhaps even because the Song actually fits in with Miles's current predicament.
His "logic" being that because of Miles Morales being an anomaly, Peter B. changing his path and having a child because of him meeting Miles, that means that the child is an anomaly by association. However, this act of cruelty only leads him to be either thwarted or called out over how obsessed he has become and that this action only ends up making him more hated, and also wasting time that could have been spent stopping the Spot sooner. Additionally could give him a
My God, What Have I Done? moment.
Miles Morales becoming Spider-Man will turn out to be a Canon Event
It just hasn't yet happened throughout the Spider-Verse such that Miguel has recorded it. This could set up the Miles of Peter B.'s or Gwen's universes becoming Spider-Man, or appearances by Miles Morhames or Insomniac's Miles.
Jess's baby will either be involved in the Sequel (possibly as a hostage) or her being a parent will factor into her
Heel RealizationThere was a moment in the beginning focusing on Jess being heavily pregnant, and when we next see her she is no longer pregnant. Either she miscarried (which would play into Spiders having tragedy but not really the *kind* of tragedy discussed in this movie), or the baby is now born, safe and sound with Jess's husband (if he’s alive). Why would they make a point of showing her pregnant at the beginning if not for payoff later? Threatening her baby would lead to a dramatic situation (and could imply this is why she plays it safe, to not risk her family). She could also be a foil for Peter B, as he is also a parent, and though he plays much more fast and loose, it's clear he loves Mayday very much. This storyline would also play into the theme of parents taking chances and trusting their kids rather than trying to keep them physically safe at all costs.
Variants of Miles will swoop in to save the day.
It's more or less confirmed that every version of Spider-Man across all media share a multiverse with these films, and this version of Miles isn't the first Miles-as-Spider-Man to exist. Miguel treats Miles like a fluke, but he isn't the first version of Miles to become Spider-Man, so odds are, when Miguel finds our Miles and beats the living hell out of him—maybe even using his tech to de-mutate him into a regular person to "fix" his canon—Gwen's splinter group will show up with a small army of Miles Variants who's give the crazy Spider-Man 2099 a beatdown. And it will be satisfying.
The live-action Spider-Men will do official cameos.
They could be recruited by Gwen to help, or maybe she
tries to recruit them, but they're too wrapped up in their own business (especially Earth-199999 Peter, who's probably in a really bad place right now).
Gwen's Spider-Group will have members who are explicitly not part of Spider-Society
Would be rather easy for Gwen and the others to recruit, especially if said members chose not to join the Spider-Society.
- Insomniac Miles - Will feel disappointment towards his world's Peter for siding with Miguel upon getting the rundown of what's happening and will want to talk some sense into him. Also since he wouldn't want Miles to lose Jefferson like he did.
- the Spiders of Earth-17628 - Help out due to them believing Miguel's actions to not be heroic at all, possibly even villainous. Could be just Peter and Miles or even all of them.
- Spidey and His Amazing Friends - They'll likely be here for a few gags since they're all characters from a preschool show in a PG-rated animated film, meaning they're really out of their element when facing the Spider-Society and the Spot. However, they won't be completely helpless and will try using An Aesop about not believing everything you think to help Miguel see reason.
- Spider-Man from The Animated Series - An obvious choice. Perhaps he had already saved MJ but on the way, had to deal with the members of the Spider-Society on the way and joins in order to put a stop to the Spider-Society.
- Armored Spider-Man from the same series - Being a version of Peter Parker who was Born Lucky and never went through some major Canon Events, he is proof that Canon Events can be safely averted. Gwen and the others will be reluctant at first due to being a raging ego trip.
The Spot will make his own Sinister Six out of the villains of the Spider-Gang
- I mean, a Big Bad needs minions and and Across didn't really use that may alternate universe villains, as for who that would be, I have a few ideas.
- For Gwen: An alternate universe version Peter Parker/The Lizard were he killed her by accident instead.
- For Peni: VEN#m, expanding on a very similar event that happened in the comics where it killed Addy Brock and Aunt May.
- Peter B. Parker: The Green Goblin, pretty self-explanatory.
If the Spider-Society isn't stopped, they will turn into
another TVA.
The shared traits are all there:
- Strict adherence to predetermined set of events
- Enforced doctrine that great multiversal crises result from deviance
- Technology to travel between universes
- Orange holographic AI helping them
Given how much of a decrepit, crime-ridden mess
42!NYC is, it wouldn't be surprising if any "heroics" left there are up Frank Castle's alley, especially if said rampant crime led to his family being killed. He might inadvertently rescue Miles while pursuing the Prowler. Miles might even recognize him as someone less bloodthirsty back home, which further drives home just how severe the impact of there being no Spider-Man in Earth-42 really is. It also wouldn't be the first time that the Punisher and Spider-Man have crossed paths in canon.
Spider-Miles' Canon Event has already occurred unbeknownst to Miguel.
Owing to his status as the anomalous Spidey, Miles' backstory has caught both Miguel and Lyla's predictive model off-guard. Jefferson's promotion to Captain is a red herring. The captain fulfilling that role in Earth-1610B Miles' life is his late uncle Aaron. Who indirectly died on account of Miles' actions while a high ranking member of Kingpins crime syndicate, potentially holding the rank of Capo. Additionally, Miles' indirectly causing his uncles death is reminiscent of Uncle Ben's fate in some adaptions.
Spider-Gwen and her team will see the memorial to Earth-42's Jefferson and meet Prowler!Miles.
When confronted by Prowler!Miles, he will reveal that his father was killed because no one else tried to stop the murderers. This, combined with seeing the memorial to his father and how badly the death affected him, causing Gwen, Peter B. and Peni to remember what drove them to become Spider-Men and ultimately realize that what they did and were willing to do to their Miles and Jefferson went against everything they stood for and firmly cement into them the Spider-Society is essentially forcing pointless tragedies to happen for nothing.
Miguel will be revealed to be a vampire instead of a Spider.
Miguel shows some very obvious signs of vampirism in
Across the Spider-Verse. He grows fangs and becomes visibly paler at several moments, and he has none of the traditional powers of a Spider-Man (his webs are hard light, he doesn't have a spider sense, he has to use his claws to climb walls).
- That's actually canon because of the different way he got his spider powers.
Miles-42 is a hero.
Despite having knocked out and captured his Variant, it does look like he is an anti-hero than just a villain who is only like one because of NYC not having any heroes stopping the criminals.
Part of the theme of
Across the Spider-Verse is that the Spiders actually can make things better across dimensions. So, to continue that, Miles' time in Earth-42 will inspire that Miles to become the hero he was always meant to be.
- Another possibility is that if they are cornered the Spider-Society, Miles-42 will sacrifice himself to give Miles time to get away. Committing one last heroic act before getting killed by the Society members.
The thing that caused the tragedy in Miguel's universe was the Spot.
Just for ultimate cruel irony points. The whole reason the Spot became universe-breakingly powerful is because Miguel let his obsession with Canon Events prevail over his heroic nature, so it'd be a
real kick in the nuts if Spot had become powerful enough to reach through time and cause the glitch that took away Miguel's family, causing a
Stable Time Loop as the Spot's actions put Miguel onto the path of
creating the Spot in the first place. So, Miguel really was responsible for their deaths...but not in the way he thought.
Gwen will find out that her falling for Miles does not mean her death
Gwen implies that the reason she won't commit to a relationship with Miles (apart from being told he's an anomaly and being forbidden from even seeing him), is because she was shown different Gwen Stacys of other universes who died sometime after entering a relationship with Spider-Man. She will learn that this does not apply to her for two reasons: 1. the Gwen Stacys who died did not fall for any Spider-Man, they fell in love with
Peter Parker specifically, while she fell for Miles Morales. And in the comics about Gwen and Miles' romance, she's alive and well. 2. Gwen being fated to die does not work to begin with as
she is the "Spider-Man" of her universe, so her falling for a Spider-Man of a different universe does not count; she's not the version of a Gwen Stacy who dies while her universe's Spider-Man saves her, when again, she
is "Spider-Man" herself.
- Alternatively, if Beyond should make up the "canon" that Gwen Stacy will always die if she falls in love with any Spider-Man, this will simply be part of what will likely be the movie's overall Screw Destiny plot. As another VMG mentioned above, the biggest obstacle for Gwen and Miles will likely be how their relationship can even work when they're from different dimensions.
Miles's dad won't die. His mom will.
While Miles' dad was the one who died in the
Insomniac game and
the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon adaptation, but people forget that in the comics that Miles originated from—
Ultimate Spider-Man (2000)—Jefferson wasn't the one who died tragically. It was his mom. His mother died after a stray bullet from a cop's gun hit her trying to hit Venom. This tragedy made Miles temporarily hang up the Suit (which is implied to be a Fixed Canon Event), and it caused Jefferson to temporarily disown Miles when he found out that his son was Spider-Man.The idea that it's the police captain who is lost in some way—either through death or a
Heel–Face Turn—is something that applies to Peter Parker and his many Variants, but that doesn't guarantee that it will happens to
Miles. While
does happen to Miles in various other versions is that he loses a parent. In
Across, Miles tried to out his secret identity to his mom, only to find out that it wasn't actually his mom, instead being a Variant of her from a different Earth. He's too worried about what his dad might think, but his mom is a different story. Out of both of his parents, his mom is the one who actually gives Miles some space and is patient enough to actually listen to him instead of demanding his respect like his father does, so while it would definitely be crushed Miles if it was his dad that died, it would be especially bad if his mom died. Miles will be so concerned about his dad dying, he will overlook certain warnings about his mother and he will be too late to save her. Peter-199999 lost his mother-figure (Aunt May) in
No Way Home, so its not entirely out of the question that it would happen.
The Spot will grow to Kaiju size
With the Spot too big even for SP//dr to fight, Peni flees and tells the others she's going to borrow a weapon from "a friend." When she returns, we hear a familiar quote off screen in Japanese:
"An emissary from hell, Spider-Man!" Then comes Leopardon.- Bonus awesome points if it's a Leopardon suit in live action, maybe even against a still-2D-animated Spot.
- With the idea that E-42 Miles should have been his reality's Spider-Man, 1610 Miles will convince him to become a hero as well, either as Prowler (original 616 Prowler is not a villain) or a reband his equipment to let him be a powerless version of Spider-Man as fulfillment of the first film's idea that anyone, powers or not, can be Spider-Man.
Peter B. is somehow related to the collapse of the Second Miguel's dimension
In the flashback to when Miguel's universe was destroyed, we see another Spider-Man there that is not Miguel, we see Peter B. in the back after Miguel loses his daughter, and Miguel pointedly asks Peter B. "isn't that right." Why is he here, when the Spider-Society shouldn't exist yet? And perhaps this is a reason why Miguel doesn't like Peter B.
Earth-42 Aaron knew that world's version of Hobie Brown
Hobie was first introduced to the comics as the Prowler, so it's possible that Aaron not only knew him, but was potentially even mentored by him before taking up the Prowler mantle.
Miles will reestablish the canon by merging his universe with another, probably Peter B. Parker's, like what happened in the comics
Earth-42's Spider-Man isn't Miles
...It's Peter Parker. He's been "traveling" thanks to Kingpin's Super-Collider - and he's coming home after getting bit by a spider from
another Earth.
- Jossed. In the flashback that shows the Spot stealing Earth-42's Spider, it is just about to bite 42's Miles. The braids give him away.
Takuya Yamashiro's Spider-Bracelet has multiverse-hopping abilities
- He just never knew how to use it, and is happily continuing with his motorcross career after avenging a bunch of deaths and destroying the Iron Cross Group.
- ...until he finds out about what the Spider-Society is and what it's been up to. Then he puts on the Spider-Protector again, breaks into Spider-Society HQ, and starts announcing who he is. "終焉を遮る男、スパイ・ダーマッ!"
- Moreover, the unusual nature of his powers means he has a Venom level of advantage over those who got their powers from a more traditional spider. Remember: this guy once fought a Giant Machine-BEM on foot, got thrown around by it, and didn't seem any worse the wear (source
).
- And he considers Miguel's activities worth "investigating."
- (Getting bit by him turns people into Noir Spider-Man.)
The Spider-Society knows about Takuya Yamashiro - and stays far, far away from him
- That one has seen more deaths and killed more mooks than The Punisher. Throwing him full-force into a mountain just slows him down a bit. He doesn't run out of Spider-String, which is rope-sized with corresponding tensile strength. He has alien blood, no fear of using guns, a giant robot, and a driver's license. Dude doesn't need to do that pose and nanori - he's so invincible that no one can stop him. And he's bros for life with Kamen Rider V3.
- The best the Spider-Society can do is hope he doesn't notice them, with Earth-51778 completely sealed off as an extra precaution.
Miguel and Miles will both be right
- Miguel will be right in that certain events happen to all Spiders. However, not all of these events are predetermined - some are just life events happen as a result of the life of a Spider. With villains like Goblin and Vulture, something will always be fallen towards someone. Miles will be right in that while such events - predetermined and otherwise - will happen and sometimes to a very specific degree, the OUTCOME of those events are not set in stone and it's up to the Spider-to decide how to act upon them and afterwards. We already see for Pavitr, his Captain does actually get 'crushed' by debris saving a child while potentially fulfils the event...however, he's still alive.
The trilogy will end with a cross-dimensional happy ending.
Jefferson and Rio will discover Miles' secrets and friends. Peter B. will be permanent mentor and wacky "uncle." Mayday becomes like a little sister to Miles and Gwen. Captain Stacy and Jefferson will have occasional hangouts and bond over being cops in superheroic worlds.
- Adding onto this, Miles and Gwen will become an Official Couple, Miles will able to stay in touch with all his pals in the Spider-Gang, maybe sometimes even helping each other fighting in each others' dimensions (while making sure they don’t cause any multiverse damage), Jessica will pull a Heel–Face Turn, Spot and Miguel will both be dead, and the Spider-Society will be no more.
E42 Prowler is actually an dark anti-hero.
He's about as good of a good guy in a world of all bad guys, sort of thing. The reason he's so hostile to Miles is because of a healthy amount of distrust.
Miguel is Morlun in disguise, the real Miguel is either dead or missing
- Him going vampire to try and kill Renaissance Vulture before being spotted by a news helicopter and stealthily reverting back.
- Pilot said he "Looked like a bad guy" cluelessly
- The way he crawls when chasing Miles
- He also went vampire when Miles was escaping through the machine, his eyes went yellowish after Miles succeeded, as hechanged to a vampish, sinister demeanor. Which made the other Spider-people take pause.
- He injects himself with something which affected the Spider-venom in his blood, since the same blood sequence was used when Miles realized his spider-venom was from a different universe than his own, thus sending him to that universe
My theory is that he's not telling the full truth about everything, particularly how he replaced an alternative version of "Himself." Perhaps Morlun killed Miguel for some reason, or replaced him? Or never did? He's definitely leaving out details. The whole "Spider-Society" thing is a perfect way for the Inheritor to keep all of his pey in one place as he prepares for whatever he's trying to do.
Multiple Miles Morales-es will appear in Beyond.
What better way to prove to Miguel that Miles deserves to be Spider-Man than by showing him other Miles!Spider-Men exist without spiders from other universes? Heck, we already have Insomniac Peter Parker so getting that Miles would probably be easy to do from a meta perspective - as well as showing everyone that it's possible for two Spider-Men to co-exist in one world too.
The TVA is revealed to be responsible for Miguel’s immigrated universe being destroyed.
We do not know how exactly how a timeline reset done by the TVA looks like, which is where this theory crops up. Because of Miguel’s meddling in a universe, the TVA erased that timeline though it spared Miguel and others due to not being natives of that universe. In the Sequel, Miguel would discover this after being informed so, resolving to go after Kang and the TVA who are responsible in the MCU. This is why Miguel’s face is based around
Oscar Isaac to transition Spider-Man 2099 to appear in live-action, potentially meeting MCU Spider-Man himself. Granted, it is intermingling with Disney, though that did not stop the Venom sequel.
Beyond will feature a fight between the Spider-Gang and the Spider-Society.
It seems inevitable that "team Miles" and "team Miguel" will at some point clash, even reminiscent of the Spider-Verse comic
Spider-Geddon, where at one point Miles actually leads his team of alternate Spider-People against a more anti-heroic team lead by Otto Octavius. It is at least obvious we will see Miles fight Miguel again and it's unlikely their allies will idly stand by.Possible fights we can see if it does happen:
- Spider-Gwen vs Jessica Drew - it is rather obvious the two need to confront one another at this point.
- Spider-Man Noir vs Ben Reilly - a potential for hilarious clash of two over the top personalities, also justifies why was Ben framed by advertising as more important than he is in Across
- Spider-Ham vs LEGO Spider-Man - both characters operate on such different rules from other Spider-People it may be hard to find them other opponnents, but they also are different enough to be Outside-Context Problem to each other
- Sp//dr vs either Sun-Spider-or Cyborg Spider-Woman - Sun-Spider-had gotten actual dialogue lines, but Cyborg Spider-Woman seems less likely to switch sides, a much more even match for Peni's Mini-Mecha and, just like Ben, her role in Across is much smaller than advertized.
- Here's an idea for the end of each fight, after each Spider-Gang member gets the upper hand against their Spider-Society opponent, they will forcibly remove their Multiversal Gizmos from their wrists, causing them to glitch to death.
- I don't think that'd happen - it's more likely that they'd just knock them out of the fight.
- Definitely won't happen, since the Spider-People in general are against killing, and would especially be against killing each other.
In the movie, he goes from a regular human, to a
Humanoid Abomination to a
Transhuman Abomination. The next logical step would be to turn him into an actual
Eldritch Abomination, right?
Given that others are questioning his actions, Miguel could’ve set the stage for the group fracturing. Whether it be through his control freak tendencies having him kick out a member, some deciding to defect to Gwen’s group, or even getting killed trying to apprehend them or Miles.
Despite a few former members of the Spider-Society disbanding after Miguel sent Gwen to her home for letting Miles go, even though he was preventing his father from dying at the hands of Spot, a few spiders are friendlier to him such as Margo, Pavitr, and Sun-Spider.If one of them is in a fight with another member, Margo and Sunspider or Pavitr will have a talk with the member despite being on separate teams.
Gwen’s Team and the Spider-Society will team up together to stop the Spot.
While both of these heroes are separate due to what happened after the climax of the film, the Spider-Society is trying to capture Spot while attempting to find Miles, unaware that the latter was transported to another universe (Earth-42) and Gwen went to save Miles from the universe he was trapped in while helping him save his father from suffering the same fate that was told of by the vision of the Spot.Once the Spot becomes more dangerous while attempting to stop them, both teams will team up to stop him from terrorizing the multiverse.
Gwen and the Spiders will save each of them from being killed by the Spot.
From what we have saw from the vision of the Spot, it shows that he’ll attempt to kill a few of the Spiders and Miles’s father, though with both Gwen’s Team and the Spider-Society likely going after each other once Gwen rescues Miles, each of the teams could team up to rescue and save each of the Spiders from being killed by the Spot while stopping the latter from killing Miles' father.
Miguel will be
called out by the Spider-Society or Jessica.
He started holding a grudge over what Miles and the Spider-Gang did in the first film despite them having helped rescue the multiverse from being destroyed by Kingpin, and in the second film, he didn’t hesitate to chase Miles despite the latter having helped save Mumbattan from Spot as well as preventing his father from being killed by the Spot.
Once he ends up attempting to attack Miles, he will be called out how he doesn’t want to help save people’s lives or even care about anyone being killed or hurt.
Once he gets called out for not wanting to help Miles save his father from being killed by the Spot, he will start to realize that his actions cost his life of himself as well as for not helping anyone. Then he'll either decide to die through a Heroic Sacrifice or will be killed as a villain by the Spider-Gang.
Miguel will start to regret his actions
Once he gets called out for his actions on not wanting to help Miles save his father from being killed by the Spot, he will start to
realize that his actions cost the life of himself as well as for not helping anyone.Once he realizes the cost of his actions, he will start to help his team including Gwen on stopping the Spot from destroying The multiverse and killing Miles father.
The Super-Colliders are the Anomalies and stopping them are the Canon Events
The only reason why
Into and
Across is because of the Super-Collider and Spot. And it's clear in
Across that multiple universe are developing that technology.Someone beloved dying is not a Canon Event, it's just fact as no one can live forever. Nor is humanity's curiosity to unlock new powers. The True Canon Event is someone rising up and stop the Super-Colliders from activating and destroying everything.
Miles getting bitten was not the canon-disrupting event, the Spider that bit him was.
So, basically, throughout the whole movie, Miguel keeps claiming that Miles is somehow not meant to be/an anomaly. What's weird about that is that in the multiverse of the movie, both the OG-Earth-1610 and the Insomniac universe are a thing, both of whom have a Miles Morales Spider-Man. We also see Donald Glover reprise his role as the Prowler from the MCU implying the existence of a Miles Morales on his Earth as well. So, what Miguel doesn't realize - and will probably learn during the events of Beyond - is that Miles getting bitten and Spider-Man dying for him is as much a Canon Event as everything else. What Spot disrupted was the timing of the bite and the Spider that did it. In the regular turn of events Miles would only get bitten much later, after Peter Parker had already solved the problem with the collider, probably during a visit to their universe Alchemax or, following the comics, by a spider accidentally carried over by either his Uncle or Father. If Spot hadn't transported the 42 Spider-over, none of this would've happened to begin with. This realization will cause Miguel to
realize that he had been wrong all along, and stop his manhunt for Miles.
The Earth-616 Spider-Man will show up.
And have them release an issue at the exact same time.
The reason Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Ham didn't appear is because they were imprisoned.
Miles and Hobbie weren't the only ones opposed to Miguel's crusade. There are those like Noir and Ham who did stand up against him but were overpowered and locked up. However during the Spider-Society's chase for Miles, either Hobie, Peter B, Gwen, or any of the defect Spiders freed them by the end of the film. The other Spiders that did opposed Miguel are....
More Spider-Men will appear.
Other than Noir and Ham, the other Spiders are:
Jess will meet her Variants.
Although she did appear in the film, she is unaware that she has Variants that she have not met her.It didn’t have her meet any of her Variants, that she may not know either that have existed before or after.Beyond could have a few of her Variants encounter or meet her throughout the Spider-Verse either during or near before the final battle with the Spot, telling her the importance of being a hero including a good mentor to her protégé.
Earth-42 Miles will get Spider-Powers.
Either by blood transfusion from Earth-1610B Miles or ingesting the latter's blood. He'll become a combined character known as Spider-Prowler.
The entirety of the MCU is one anomaly after another due to how many liberties it takes with the source material (Ultron being created by Tony Stark, Thanos committing genocide to solve overpopulation instead of getting laid, the portrayal of many characters like the Mandarin, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Loki), and nowhere is that more clear than in how Spider-Man is portrayed in the series. Because of this, the Peter Parker of Earth-199999 is borderline
Persona Non Grata due to being the opposite of everything the Spider-Society stands for. However, Miles will use this to his advantage once he learns of how Peter changed the fates of the villains of the
Spider-Man Trilogy and
The Amazing Spider-Man Series and how it didn't cause
The End of the World as We Know It. Once Miguel finds out, everything he knew about the multiverse will be radically changed.
Miles will escape his Earth-42 self's clutches the same way Peter B. escaped him.
Miles ends the movie tied to a literal punching bag, so he'll pull the same trick on Earth-42 Miles Peter B. did on him by rambling (possibly exaggerating how frightened he is). After taking a few minutes to pick Earth-42 Miles' brain, our Miles will drop this
Wham Line on him:
The official poster has
Foreshadowing over who will join Gwen's resistance group.
In the official poster for the movie, of all the Spider-People that can be noticed, Gwen, Spider-Man India, and Spider-Punk are all depicted on the right side, and they all eventually defect from the Spider-Society in order to go rescue Miles. Miguel, meanwhile, is depicted on the
left side, and he has every intent to get rid of Miles once and for all. Considering this, the poster might be a slight clue as to which Spider-Men will join the Spider-Gang for
Beyond, and who are going to remain on Miguel's side.
Miguel has a "nuclear option" for dealing with the Spot...and the truth about it will turn everything upside down.
If all else fails, Lyla has a particularly nasty solution to the Spot problem. She has run a simulation wherein reversing the polarity of the Collider of Miles' home universe will destabilize the Spot's 'core' being and erase him from the multiverse...as well as everyone else in Miles' universe. It's an awful solution that even Miguel doesn't want to consider, but Lyla's certain it will work...because it's happened before. To the universe with Miguel's family in it. And when that's revealed,
everything in Miguel's worldview comes apart because it wasn't "canon" that cost him his world, and Lyla had known all along.
Guesses about the other members of the Spider-Society
Spider-Canada
- If she has a speaking role, famous Canadian VA Tara Strong will voice her.
- Is either Indeginous or Metis.
- Near the end of the movie, Gwen gives Miles The Big Damn Kiss and they officially become boyfriend and girlfriend.
Beyond will be rated PG-13.
Similar to the
Harry Potter series and the
Star Wars prequel trilogy, the story's
Darker and Edgier direction and more disturbing visuals anticipated for the finale will justify the higher rating, contrasting the PG rating of
Into and
Across. In addition, as most superhero movies are rated PG-13, this (along with it being a trilogy) would officially be its crowning moment, officially confirming it as more than just a "kids'" series.
Some leaked test footage shows Earth-42!Miles and Aaron acting as vigilantes doing impressive stunts and maneuvers around New York City to escape some criminals and provide medicine for Rio's patients at the hospital. This will become a full-fledged flashback in
Beyond instead as Earth-42!Miles' backstory will no doubt be provided.
The MCU or any of its alternate timelines will be featured in Beyond.
With the MCU's multiverse Saga running concurrently with the
Spider-Verse film series, it might be depicted in the art style of the Similarly-
Painted CGI What If…? (2021) series or the
same live-action style with the Raimi and Webb films and Sony's Spider-Man Universe. Having similar story arcs to each other with threats to the multiverse,
Beyond could make references to some events in the MCU, or feature the TVA, Kang, or the Watcher.
The Spot's powers will end up causing portals to open up all across the multiverse and draw in countless villains from countless universes.
During Miles and his allies' final battle with the Spot, the latter's powers will start causing portals to open up all across the multiverse, drawing in countless
Alternate Selves of the Spider-Society and the Spider-Gang's
Rogues Gallery, forcing the heroes to multitask, fighting both the Spot and the army of displaced villains.
Miles will break into Spider-Society HQ and convince the captured Anomalies to help him fight both the Spot and the Spider-Society save the multiverse.
Spider-Byte, Jessica, and anyone who defects/joins the Spider-Gang will get Comic-Intros in Beyond.
Since neither got to have comic-esque character backstories like everyone in the
Into the Spider-Verse, Pravitir, and Hobie, it would awesome to see character of backstories of Margo the and Jessica. And anyone else who joins the Gwen's gang against Spot and the Spider-Society would also be a bonus point!
- It would be interesting to see Margo's story, how she became Spider-Byte, what her life at home is like, and how she got recruited to defect from the Society to Gwen's gang after helping Miles escape.
- For Jessica's case, she should get a backstory sequence after she (hopefully and should) switches sides and joins the gang after finally deciding that Miguel is too far gone with his "Canon Event" and "Anomaly" theories and see that Miles and Gwen are right that destiny can be changed.
- Also, whoever gets these sequences should also make fourth-wall joke about the previous Spideys saying "Okay, let's do this one last time.," For example instead they can say "Let's do this again, probably not the last time"
Kaine Parker/Scarlet Spider-will join the Spider-Gang.
One Spider-Man that people hope to see prominently in
Beyond is Scarlet Spider. One thing you may not know if you're not knowledgeable with Spider-Man lore is that there are
two Scarlet Spiders, Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker. Ben appeared as a member of the Spider-Society in
Across and he seems to be sadistic and too enthusiastic about hunting down Miles, so it's extremely unlikely (and shouldn't be wanted) that he will change allegiances and betray Miguel. However, Kaine Parker on the other hand, didn't appear to be shown as a member of the of the Society. So this could interpret that Kaine will appear as a major character in the third movie where he will join the Spider-Gang against both Spot and Miguel. Kaine could generally not like the Spider-Society and despise their beliefs and theories about Destiny and "Canon Events," so he could join the Gang not only to help them save Miles but also to spite Miguel.
It's very likely that Miguel will take his Canon Events theory being wrong badly but what if it's to the point that he decides he's undeserving to live? Perhaps during the climax, he'll attempt to sacrifice himself as a form of atonement. However, Miles will have other ideas and could step in to save him at the last minute.
- Perhaps it'll even come with a Meaningful Echo of Miles going "Nah, imma do my own thing." when Miguel questions why despite trying to stop him from saving his dad, he's come in to save him.
- Given all the horrible and harsh things he's doing, saving him and keeping him alive would cause another forced half-baked redemption that recent movies have been doing far too much. If Miguel pulls Heroic Sacrifice or a Redemption Equals Death, it should play straight.
The breaking of Canon Events merely divert into new pockets
Given the entire meta-narrative regarding Miles carving his own path, it's very likely that the residents of Miguel's "hijack" universe as well as those in other "broken canon" universes merely got shifted away to another dimension free of the Shackles of Canon Events, and that's going to play a part in Miles being accepted as another Spider-Man, despite breaking a number of core franchise facets, all in the name of said meta-narrative. Miguel can also be reunited with his rediscovered family and gradually heal his broken heart/psyche.
Peters
2 and
3 will make small
cameos as members of Gwen's "band."
As mentioned above, the events of
Spider-Man: No Way Home have most likely set those Variants of Peter firmly against the very concept of "Canon Events," so it wouldn't be a surprise if they showed up.
The MCU's Peter may also show up as a
Brick Joke from this film, briefly squaring off against Miguel.
By either Gwen's Spider-Team and the Spider-Society going down saving Earth-1610 and/or 42 from the Spot literally having a
Super-Power Meltdown or from Jonathan Ohnn accidentally curing himself at the worst possible time, collapsing many worlds at once.

The real story behind Miguel O'Hara
Miguel did became Spider-Man to fight Alchemax but over the years, he grew tired of it and wanted to escape to another world. He found a world where his Miguel is still working for Alchemax and has a family. Embittered by his dealings with Alchemax and desperate to live a normal life, Miguel deemed his counterpart to be undeserving to have a happy life so he allowed the other Miguel's murder to occur and took his place. Unbeknownst to Miguel, his counterpart was actually
The Mole ot Alternate Nueva York's Spider-Man, Peter Parker whose mission was to stop Alchemax from activating something that could destroy this universe. Not knowing the full scope of his actions, Miguel believed the destruction to be the cause of Canon Events so he decides to enforce those events to prevent another disaster. Unfortunately over time, Miguel develop a hatred towards Spider-Men in general for being the ultimate rule breakers so he's going to make sure that each Spider-faced their Canon Events. He did this by recruiting villains that escaped their universes and turned them into a hit squad, tasked to kill a Spider's loved one or comrade. In truth, the Renaissance Vulture being at Gwen's Universe wasn't a coincidence. Miguel specifically had him targeted Captain Stacy and to kill him. However, Vulture went rogue and detecting a spike in Canon disruption, Miguel decided to intervene. Following this movie, Miguel had already planned to have Peter B. Parker killed so that Mayday can take his place.
Miles will escape Miles G. and Aaron, but he'll return of his own will to "make up for" robbing Earth-42 of its Spider-Man
One of the writers for the film already confirmed that Miles will feel responsible for the State of Earth-42's New York. Considering this, Miles won't be ready to leave the place right away. He will escape Miles G. and Aaron, but just as he does so and looks for a way to get home, or alternatively, Gwen has showed up with the portal, Miles will feel bad for Earth-42's state being "his fault" and decide to help Miles G. and Aaron fight some or all of the Sinister Six cartels. He will remember that Miguel said his dad is fated to die in two days, thus it gives him a little time to help Miles G. and Aaron first. Gwen and her team will likely feel responsible to help out a New York that has no Spider-Man themselves, and they join Miles in doing so.
- Alternatively, the two Miles run into one of the cartels during their chase/fight at the opening of the movie, causing Miles G. to be distracted and end up fighting the cartel instead. Miles seizes the opportunity to get away, but Conscience Makes You Go Back, and he returns in order to save Miles G. from the villain(s) he is fighting. This will also prompt Miles G. to realise "our" Miles is not a threat and the two end up forming an alliance.
Gwen will "die," but Miles will revive her by using his electricity to restart her heart.
Not only does this continuity have a Peter that has chewed out a Miguel about his mindset before,
Across noticably lacked any alternate versions of Miguel himself. Perhaps not only can Peter help do the same, but Miguel can get a wake-up call from an alernate version of himself that has learned the lesson already. Bonus points if
Josh Keaton reprises this Peter (alongside Spectacular) and
Christopher Daniel Barnes this Miguel.
Miles and Earth-42 Miles will temporarily switch places
Related to one above: after Miles and Gwen's team has helped Miles G. and Aaron fight the Sinister Six cartels, Miles G. will offer to help out Miles in return. He follows Miles to 1610 (alternatively, Miguel himself arrives on Earth-42, having figured out Miles is there), and, upon realising that Miguel and other Spider-people are there looking for him, the two agree to switch places: Miles G. dons the Spider-suit while Miles dons the Prowler one, in order to make Miguel chase after the wrong one. Miles G. will avert Miguel's attention while Miles and Gwen's team go after Spot/looks for Jeff (alternatively, they attempt to ambush Miguel themselves while he's distracted by the wrong Miles). This may possibly be played as a trick to the audience as well as they don't show the Switch happening, and the reveal only comes when Miguel catches Miles only to remove his mask and realise in shock he's a different one. Obviously, this will serve as a nod to how the two Miles were originally going to have each other's fates. Bonus points if they have a conversation later on what they thought about wearing the other's suit, with both of them agreeing that they're used to and prefer their own at the end of the day.
The Spot will ultimately be defeated...
by a bagel.
Don't ask me how it'll happen, but it'll happen. Somehow.
Margo will interrupt Gwen's apology with her own.
The gang rescues Miles from near-death on Earth-42, and Gwen will approach Miles very contrite and about to apologize...before Margo comedically interrupts and cries "I'M SO SORRY MILES IT'S ALL MY FAULT CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME?!" because she accidentally allowed him to be sent to the wrong dimension. Naturally, Gwen will get jealous again.
Given that things are already bad enough for Miles, with him reeling from the betrayal of his friends, being outcast by the Spider-Society, indirectly causing the fall of Earth-42, and with his father's death about to happen, it won't be too far-fetched for Miles to want to commit suicide. Only for Gwen and her team and/or even his parents (if they find out he's Spider-Man) to stop him.
- But he isn't the reason Earth-42's spider went to his universe.
Peter from Earth-616 and Miles from Earth-1610 will show up.
Across the Spiderverse retconed Miles and Peter B, and indeed most of the noted characters like Gwen and Miguel as coming from (comic counterpart's universe)B, so 616B, 1610B and so on. So perhaps at some point in the third film the actual comic counterparts will show up in some role.
Miguel-B will ultimately be beaten by Miguel-A
Whether a secret inheritor or just a
Well-Intentioned Extremist, the Miguel we saw in the film will be beaten by his counterpart from the comics, perhaps aided by comics Peter and Miles to clear the way for Miles to focus on spot.
If Peter-A and Miguel-A do show up they'll be voiced either by Neil Patrick Harris, Dan Gilverzen or Christophger Daniel Barnes.
As a nod to Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time, the Spiritural predescesors to Spider-Men and later Spider-Verse, particularly since, while it has since been retconed, I believe both games were meant to be canon to Earth-616 and affected worlds. Christopher in particular needs to have a role, since his cartoons Spider-Wars finale laid the ground work for
all of it.
Because of the way the previous movie ended, this movie is just one
Bait-and-Switch after another
- Spot sees Miguel's Spider-People gathering around the Morales residence and backs off, even if they were sent there to make sure he kills Jefferson
- Instead of a huge fight, Spot is just Brought Down to Normal and no longer a threat
You CAN change Canon Events, but you have to do it carefully.
Pavitr's universe fell it apart because someone from another universe changed said event instead of him. If he'd saved Inspector Singh, it would've been fine.
"Canon Events" exist, but are flexible-and operate off of "Equivalent exchange."
Spider-Man must always face tragedy, and that is required. But what the nature of the tragedy is is fluid, and changes depending on circumstance.Gwen's father survived, so he won't die-but Gwen still suffers from the rift between them, and later from betraying Miles and getting thrown out of the Spider-Society.Likewise, Miles has been betrayed and is stranded in another universe. This constitutes as enough of a "Tragedy" to satisfy the Canon Event.
- I have a similar idea: Miguel not knowing what the Canon Events actually are. For example, the death of a captain close to Spider-Man event really being the captain losing their job and the easiest way for that to happen is death.
There will be a cost to Miles trying to save his Dad.
It does seem very likely that Miles will save his father, given the way the trilogy is going. But there is no guarantee that Rio Morales makes it out of the trilogy alive.
Miles and Gwen will reconcile on the Williamsburg Bank Building, or in general share a moment there again as a
Call-BackGwen and Miles will likely have talked before this point and perhaps even partly reconciled, but in a fitting
Call-Back their final reconciliation will be back at the Williamsburg Bank Building where they'll have the privacy to talk it out. There will also be a moment, either at the end of their reconciliation, or as part of the epilogue, that shows them sitting upside down at the same spot and sharing a kiss this time.
Gwen's former name
In keeping with the "trans interpretation" of Spider-Gwen, their deadname could have been "Finn" (a cognate to "Gwen"), either as its own name or a nickname for "Finnegan" or "Finnick."
By the end of the film, the Spider-Society will apologize to Miles who rejects it in response.
- After averting whatever disaster happens in Beyond, Miguel, Jessica and the rest of Spider-Society say sorry to Miles and offer him a place, even giving him a spider watch. However, Miles understandably doesn't take it and crushes the watch before going home.
- Adding to this, Miles will reject being part of the Society, but he and Gwen's team will form their own "band," using Hobie's bootleg watches so they may visit each other and help each other out in their respective worlds instead. Miles might accept an apology from the Society, but being with his closest friends will be the most important for him.
Earth-42 has no Spider-Man. Earth-42 needs no Spider-Man. Earth-42 is no longer part of the Spider-Verse.
Spider-Man, despite Miguel's implicit assumptions, isn't the center of the multiverse. The removal of the Spider is a "Canon Event" of Earth-42's timeline (or at least became a permanent adaptation). Earth-42 will follow its own fate independent of the Spider-Verse. Miles-1610 and Miles-42 (and perhaps the rest of the Spider-Gang) will inspire the citizens of New York to resist the chains of villainy, taking the Symbol and ideals of Spider-Man for their own even without a true Spider-Man belonging to them. This may even explain the title of the Sequel:
Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Spot was created in the Spider-Verse and thus only has influence within it. Spot's blindspot is Earth-42 and beings from Earth-42.
Spot has displayed beginnings of precognition. Miles-42 will be his
blindspot.Earth-42 is the only Earth not belonging to Spider-Verse that the Society has access to.
And that's purely because the genetically modified spider that bit Miles Morales belonged there. For all intents and purposes, they are as different to the Spider-Verse as DC is to Marvel.
Miles Morales will get a new suit.
Both Spot and Ganke mention Miles' suit being tight in the back, as well as Peter and Hobie commenting on it looking like he's "bleeding from the armpits." Additionally, Miles' suit gets damaged by Miguel during the chase. All of this seems to be leading up to Miles getting a new suit in
Beyond the Spider-Verse, one that may be comic book accurate.
Miguel will seek Spot out and they work together to get Miles.
One of first signs of Miguel's
Sanity Slippage but also his own undoing. As the Search for Miles proves fruitless, Spot gets fed up with Miguel's preaches only for Miguel to call Spot as "just a villain." This causes Spot to see that even when he's all-powerful, he's still treated as basic, causing him to go from hurting Miles to destroying every Spider-Man across the multiverse, starting with the Spider-Society.
Prowler Miles was outside the window listening when "our" Miles talked to Earth-42 Rio
Just a small guess, but when Miles meets Prowler Miles, the latter tells him, "Your father, you said he's still alive." However, Miles never mentions his dad to 42-Aaron, he only mentioned him to 42-Rio. Either this was a goof by the writers, or this is an indication that Prowler Miles had already followed our Miles for a while, at least to the point he saw him go in the window of his room and decided to eavesdrop from the outside what he was up to, serving an ironic parallel to Gwen being outside Miles' window in 1610. From there, he texted Aaron about the intruder and Aaron was thus aware the whole time that this Miles wasn't his nephew, he merely played along to not worry Rio and to get intruder Miles out of there and up to the roof so Prowler Miles could ambush him.
Just like his mother, Earth-42 Miles will be revealed to have green eyes.
The lighting on Earth-42 makes it look like 1610 Miles himself has green eyes in a lot of the Shots, and when 42 Miles reveals himself, the lighting still makes it hard to see what eye color he has, which is likely an indicator that he has green eyes himself, or at the very least a different color from "our" Miles.
Mayday Parker will play a major role in the Spot's downfall.
Think about it: If the Spot didn't tamper with the multiverse, then Miles wouldn't have gained Spider-Powers and an alternate Peter Parker wouldn't have come through. Said Peter Parker had just hit rock bottom, but hanging out with Miles helped him overcome his funk and give life a second chance. Peter would then get back with Mary Jane and have a baby. Mayday's very existence was a result of the Spot's actions. If she somehow acts as a spanner in his plans, then that's poetic justice.
- the Spot will try and point out how they both hate Miles, and says that they agree on him being a mistake, mainly to trip him up. However, having undergone Character Development, Miguel refutes his claims, and calls him out for trying to destroy everything Miles holds dear and threatening the multiverse for such a petty reason.
Miles and others will try to defeat the Spot by getting him to waste energy until he is vulnerable again.
.....and it won't work. The fact that the Spot can run out of dark matter which will render him powerless is a big plot point and a major weakness, one that at least Miles and Gwen are aware of, so they can certainly try to use it. However, the Spot himself knows it too, and since he's now taking things very seriously, he will be on guard against it, so defeating him will require a different approach.
After the Spot absorbs Mumbattan collider, Miles sees visions of the future. Notably, they are depicted in the same style as the Spot's backstory, implying that
he is the one showing them to Miles (either on purpose or accidentally) through some kind of mental connection. Since he can't beat the Spot physically, Miles will use that connection to defeat him mentally.
Not that we'll actually see him, of course. He is not the "nerd on Earth-199999" Miguel hates. He's just a direct Variant of that Spidey who obviously never did what Miguel hates his Sacred Timeline self for.
Gwen will save Rio's life.
In a twist to Jeff having to be saved, Rio herself will end up in danger of dying during Spot's rampage in New York, but she will be saved by Gwen.
Hobie will play a part in bringing Miles and Gwen back together.
Miles will be more willing to listen to and trust Hobie at the beginning of
Beyond while likely still being cold to Gwen, thus Hobie might be the one who will tell Miles that Gwen brought the whole team to save him, and that he should give her a chance to explain herself. He may also let Miles know how Gwen talked about him while she was at the Society, the implication being she often talked about him and that it was clear how much she wanted to see him. Alternatively (or additionally) he will also instigate Gwen into realising or confessing her feelings for Miles. Hobie will either way act as a subtle instigator for them.
Miles ended up suffering similarly to how Jonathan/the Spot did, that is, being ostracized for being an Anomaly, a "mistake," someone who "shouldn't exist," not very different from how Spot suffered being ostracized by friends and family for his appearance and thus a "mistake" himself, someone who couldn't belong anywhere and wasn't taken seriously (Miles didn't take him seriously which he later admits, while Miles himself ends up not being taken seriously by Miguel and the Society for being "just a kid"). It's very possible that Miles will realise/acknowledge their similarities and bring this up while fighting Spot, possibly even as a means to defeat him if Spot will eventually be willing to listen, likely either halfway through the battle against him or towards the end, being the final thing needed for Spot to surrender or acknowledge his wrongdoings by realising that Spider-Man/Miles who previously mocked him now empathises with him.
Gwen will have a similar line to Jeff in the first film.
Gwen will have her own version of telling Miles that she loves him, but she doesn't expect him to say it back. It will happen either halfway through their reconciliation, or towards the end, serving as a romantic parallel to the familial version of the Scenario being used in the first movie.
There will be a comedic scene of Miles meeting Gwen's dad
The writers will likely not want to miss the opposite scenario of Gwen's meeting with Rio and Jeff, thus we'll also have Miles meeting George, probably towards the end of the movie after he and Gwen have gotten closer again, making for another comedic scene of 'meeting the parents'. Ironically, Miles will likely be more smooth and better at impressing George than Gwen was with Rio and Jeff.
Instead of just Earth-42 Prowler or the Spot or even Miguel being the
Big Bad of
Beyond the Spider-Verse, the main threat will be a multiversial version of the Sinister Six.
Half of them would be returning characters and the other half would be brand-new versions of pre-existing characters.
- Olivia Octavius/Doctor Octopus - If the extended cut is to be believed, then this Doctor Octopus survived that truck & will most likely be planning revenge on Miles, taking up the role traditionally held by most versions of Doc Ock within the Sinister Six.
- Jonathan Ohnn/ the Spot - Given that his threat hasn't been resolved yet, he'd most likely be convinced to join this Sinister Six to help in his vendetta against Miles.
- Earth-42 Miles Morales/The Prowler - The Across the Spider-Verse official art book describes Miles G. Morales as a vigilante rather than a villain of Earth-42, but that likely doesn't mean he won't be convinced...or worse...made Brainwashed and Crazy so he'd join the Sinister Six.
- Earth-42 Cindy Moon/Silk - Beyond the Spider-Verse introduces two versions of Cindy Moon, traditionally known as the heroine Silk. One would be the Cindy Moon from Earth-1610B who would somehow be bitten by a spider that gives her abilities similar to Spider-Man...and the other would be a more corrupt version of her from Earth-42. Based of the Cindy Moon of Earth-65 from the comics, she's a S.H.I.E.L.D. geneticist who broke bad after her spider research yielded people with superpowers. As the leader of her own organization, S.I.L.K., she became a billionaire through corporate espionage and the manipulation of world events during a mad quest for world domination that would earn her a place in the Sinister Six.
- Corrupted Gwen Stacy/She-Venom - On the topic of Earth-65 Cindy Moon, in the comics, she stole the power of Spider-Gwen, leading her to don a lab-made version of the Venom Symbiote. A fitting way of giving Spider-Gwen her own evil counterpart within the Sinister Six would be a corrupted version of Gwen Stacy merged with the Venom Symbiote.
- Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099? - Bent on ensuring the "Canon Event" where Miles loses his father to the Spot takes place as scheduled, Miguel would initially be assumed to be the leader of this multiversal Sinister Six, until a pivotal moment where his whole theory about Canon Events begins to fall apart...Miguel would be in utter denial...but then a voice in his head would gloat...one provided by Christopher Daniel Barnes.
- Earth-16827 Peter Parker/Wolf Spider - The true mastermind behind both Miguel's Canon Event Theory (along with the cosmic disaster that led to the theory in the first place) & the Multiversial Sinister Six, the Wolf Spider-would probably be the same one from Ultimate Spider-Man or a brand-new version created for this film, but just like the Ultimate Spider-Man incarnation, he would be an alternate Peter Parker who for some reason rejected heroism and responsibility in favor of gaining as much power as he could. The reveal of the Wolf Spider-should definitely come with a proper explanation on how he became evil in the first place. The Wolf Spider-would kick-start the final battle by forcibly taking over Miguel's body & using his powers against the Spider-People, whether by taking over their minds or stealing their life-force, the Wolf Spider's ultimate goal would be to rule the multiverse. The methods Miguel pushes in the name of his Canon Event Theory being antithetical to Spider-Man's ethos of always helping those in need would make sense in a truly nightmarish way if they turn out to be the result of being manipulated by an alternate timeline version of Peter Parker, the OG Spider-Man, who is the complete opposite of everything that Spider-Man stands for.
Morlun or some other alternate version of The Inheritors will be the antagonists of the next film
That is, if Miguel or any other character is not Morlun.
Spider-Man of The New Animated Series is part of the Spider-Society
I dunno, just throwing that out here. It kinda seems like a missed opportunity, considering his show is also made by Sony.
- Though given that that series ended with Peter Parker throwing his suit, weighted down with rocks, into the Hudson River, this seems unlikely.
The sequel will be released in 2028.
I know that the movie was originally a two-parter and that at least half of the thing is planned out already, but they really need some more time to refine the film so it'll be
even better than the previous one. I wouldn't mind waiting 5 more years honestly.
- Jossed. The film now has a June 4, 2027 release date.
The Spider-Man of
Earth-6160 will appear to disprove Canon Events
The core premise of the new Ultimate Universe is the conventional canon of the Marvel universe has been completely shattered, particularly Spider-Man, who got his powers decades after he was meant to,
Uncle Ben is alive and while Aunt May is dead, it was as the result of the Maker's Council's attack, not anything to do with Peter abusing his powers, and for all their troubles, universal instability doesn't seem to be one of them.
And the canon shredding was done by a multiversal invader, invalidating that loophole. It feels like he is too relevant to this debate for them
not to at least mention him.
Tropes for universes visited in film
- Earth-50101B
- Artistic License – History: The American colonies never had revolution (unlike most Alternative Histories where they had it, but it failed), which means they are still around in the Britain takes over India, despite there being less imperialistic "need." Then a major event happens, that forces a large chunk of the population to move to the American colonies, specially New York. The Indian population eventually becomes the dominate demographic, and the name of the city is changed to reflect this.
Gwen and Miles will get lost in the multiverse together
After Miles and Gwen's group have finished the arc on Earth-42 and they try to get back to 1610, something will happen that causes Gwen and Miles to get separated from the group and get lost in the multiverse together. This will serve as a sequence where they will rebuild their trust and relationship with each other in order to survive the dangers of the universes they're thrown into and find their way back to 1610.
Given the liberties that show takes with the Spider-Man mythos (Peter being bitten by a spider that's implied to be cosmic in origin, Uncle Ben dying of a disease prior to show events, Peter being an intern of Norman Osborn), the existence of that universe will be used as a "smoking gun" to disprove the Canon Event theory. For bonus points, Miles will point out Miguel's hypocrisy in gunning after him for being bitten by the "wrong" spider while leaving that Peter alone.
Doc Ock/Olivia Octavius of Earth-1610B is truly responsible for the destruction of the dimensions.
- Doc Ock's whereabouts have been unknown since the climax of the first film.
- Olivia was aware of the "glitching" destabilization caused by being in the wrong dimension, and she has the intelligence to create a device that allows her to remain stable and even her own watch to travel between dimensions.
- Lyla mentions that there are several versions of Doc Ocks locked away in the Spider-Society headquarters. Is Olivia perhaps amassing an army?
Tempest Monroe will appear.
Similar to the comics, Miguel was tricked into believing that Tempest died in an attack. The sadness over the loss of his beloved girlfriend drove Miguel to try to find happiness in another dimension, replacing a version of himself who had died.Possible reasons for The Spider-Gang to seek her help:
- Tempest might try to reason with Miguel and reach his heart buried under layers of pain and trauma.
- Tempest possesses a Wasp form that makes her almost as physically strong as Miguel. Her stingers are strong enough to pierce through Miguel's suit and temporarily paralyze him with her wasp venom.
Gabriel O'Hara II will appear to help Miles.
- At first, Miles mistakes Gabri for Miguel and tries to run away from him. Until Gabri corners him and proves he's not his father.
- Besides, his Arachnauts would be great help to the Spider-Gang. These robots could be used to control a large number of members of the Spider-Society and prevent them from pursuing Miles and his companions, or extract useful information from a subordinate close to Miguel.
The Spider-Gang 2.0
This gang will appear to support Miles and will consist of time-traveling spiders:
- Gabriel O'Hara II (Earth-928B)
- Teenage Mayday Parker (Earth-616B)
- Jessica Drew's teenage child (Earth-332)
- Charlotte Morales-Stacy
- Max Morales-Stacy
- Spider-Ham's children
Miguel is going to save Miles' life.
Miguel will remain hidden on Earth-1610B for the next two days, waiting for Miles to appear so he can stop him. During that time, Miguel will witness Jefferson's anguish and despair over his son's disappearance. While Miguel remains steadfast in his belief that he must protect the canon at all costs, he comes to the conclusion that he can allow Jefferson one last meeting with his son before his "impending" death. And of course, after saving Miles, Spider-Man 2099 will try to deny that he sympathizes with Jefferson's situation; a father who wants to know his child is safe and sound.
Morlun and the Inheritors will appear in Beyond.
- The vampire family will take on the role of Big Bad instead of The Spot. Morlun will kidnap Spot and manipulate him, offering him not only the chance to get revenge on Miles, but also on all the Spiders who didn't take him seriously. Using his portals, Spot will teleport several Spiders to Earth-001.
- Miles and Miguel must work together to stop this threat.
- Spot will feel betrayed when Morlun tries to dismiss him after getting what he wanted, and will join Miles against a common enemy.
- Morlun will appear in a post-credits scene, revealing that a fourth film is planned.
It wasn't Miguel's fault.
Eventually, it will be revealed that Miguel wasn't responsible for the collapse of the dimension he adopted as his home:
- The Miguel O'Hara of that dimension wasn't supposed to die. He was destined to become another version of Spider-Man 2099, but he died before that happened, and the presence of a new Miguel delayed the dimension's destruction. Therefore, it is possible to restore the dimension through time travel.
- The dimension was "programmed" to separate from the Spider-Verse because there no a Spider-Man or known Variants of the arachnid hero's allies or villains. The dimension wasn't destroyed; it simply separated from the web that makes up the Spider-Verse, and it is no longer accessible for the Spiders.
Professor O'Hara
- At some point, Miguel will pose as the Spanish Teacher from Visions Academy to speak with Miles' parents and find out if they know where he is. The result is a somewhat comical scene with Jeff and Rio asking "Professor O'Hara" if he knows what their son could be hiding from them, as they are very worried about him and want to know if he's having problems at school that he hasn't told them about, while Miguel struggles to avoid raising suspicions.
- Once everything is resolved, Miguel apologizes to Miles. Although Miles is understanding of Spider-Man 2099, he asks for a favor as an apology: help him improve his Spanish grades by tutoring him.
Miguel will have a happy ending.
- A restructuring of the dimensions will cause Miguel to be sent to Earth-1610B as a new version of himself, without powers, without memories of everything he's been through, but with the family he so desperately wanted.
Billie Morales will appear.
- Spider-Smasher from Earth-9375B will appear to help her older brother from an alternate dimension.
- It will be revealed that Rio is pregnant with her second child, and there will be a time skip of several months at the end of the film, in which we will see Billie as a newborn.
Miles will be looking for the collider on Earth-42.
The reason Miles will be working alongside Earth-42's Miles and Aaron (implied in the artbook and footage at Cinema-Con 2025): Miles will reach the conclusion that the only way he can try and travel home is by using another collider. He won't know how to travel to dimensions through it himself (at least not without a "goober"), but by turning a collider on, he might be able to get Miguel and the Society's attention to where he is. He will figure that his only chance is if they come for him and he can wait in hiding, ambush one of the random Spider-people when they arrive, steal their watch and use that to get home. The problem is, one or more of the Sinister Six cartels are guarding the area where the collider is located, something Prowler Miles lets him in on. After having heard Miles' story and that he wants to save his dad (after the two Miles have had their opening fight and eventual realisation they're not a threat to each other), Prowler Miles and Aaron ultimately sympathise with 'our' Miles and agrees to help him, in return for Miles helping them fight the cartel on the way there.
Of course, it doesn't play out like Miles thought with the arrival of Gwen and her team throwing everything for a loop during their journey there, but it will be the reason that Miles is working with Earth-42 Miles and Aaron to begin with.
Earth-42 Miles will save Jeff's life.
In a reference to the "Two cakes" metaphor, 'our' Miles might be unable to save his dad, but then Earth-42 Miles saves him instead. This will be an emotional moment for Miles-42, being able to save an alternate version of his dad after he couldn't save his own, and he gets to reunite with his AU dad like 'our' Miles did with Aaron-42.
The Spider-Men will find a way to (at least partially) cure the Spot.
At the moment, the Spot seems to be nearly invincible, and is more akin to a walking flaw in the multiverse than a human being. Logically, the only way to defeat him is to take his powers away (at least partially.)
- If Spider-Man 2099 is involved, it's possible there is a way to time travel; Miguel just hasn't used it because of his fear of spacetime collapsing. The Spider-Gang could travel back in time to the exact moment the scientist became The Spot and save him from the Collider explosion.
Miguel will wear his White Suit.
Miguel will realize that Miles damaged his suit more than he had thought, so he will change to his second suit, more resistant and with better technology, including Boot Jets.
There will be a joke about Miguel's tightest little butt.
Miguel will use his poisonous bite
- He'll use it on The Spot. In the comics, Miguel's poison has been shown to be powerful enough to affect people like the Sub-Mariner, Risque, and even Thanatos.
The injection that Miguel gives himself before talking to Miles and Gwen
- It's a substance that keeps his spider genes in check. If his origin story is the same as in the comics, Miguel is actually 50% spider, although he retains his mostly human appearance.
- It's also revealed that Miguel does have organic webbing like his comic counterpart. However, he can't use it due to the substance's effects.
- His human half "attacks" his spider half as if it were a disease, almost like an autoimmune illness. The injection prevents his spider half from being eliminated, as he's unsure if it would kill him.
The Beyonders are the ones truly responsible for the dimensional collapses.
