Pim and Charlie killed Smormu
  • Smormu's sudden death was revealed only moments after meeting Pim and Charlie for the first time. Likely, just as upset as the viewers about his addition to the cast, Charlie and Pim murdered him the moment the credits began to roll.
    • Maybe it was only Pim as he was disappointed with loosing Jennifer and Smormu's dancing which was an insenstive attempt to make him smile made him reach his breaking point and caused him to murder Smormu.
    • Doubtful, given how disturbed Charlie and Pim were with Mr. Frog’s violence and murder of Rex and shock with Mip having them send a bomb to the princess, as well as Charlie saying he wouldn’t break the sixth commandment over healthy fast food items.
    • My opinion? It was Glep.
Alternatively, Smormu was killed by the same people who put him in the show in the first place.
  • The poll was clearly biased in Smormu’s favor, so it’s likely the people who made it fully intended to have Smormu in the cast from the very beginning. However, because the nature of the poll made it far more difficult to vote against him, it means that the number of people that hate Smormu is probably far more than it looks from the poll. So, when Smormu was brought into the show, the ratings dropped to hilariously low levels. The producers, realizing their decision was kicking them in the ass, decided to get rid of the problem the old fashioned way rather than taking any responsibility.
Charlie is a homunculus created by Mr. Boss
  • Charlie tells Pim at one point that he has eaten at Salty's "ever since he was a homunculus", implying that Charlie was artificially created rather than born. Charlie also shares some visual similarities with Mr. Boss's "son", with their noses being the biggest giveaway. Mr. Boss being Charlie's creator would also explain how someone so cynical ended up working at Smiling Friends in the first place.
    • It’s also entirely possible that a homunculus is just the infant stage for a critter, or that Charlie is half-critter, half-human
The Witch is in cahoots with Mip
  • She was convinced by Mip in one way or another to pretend to try and eat any outsider who came into the Enchanted forest, so that he could make himself look more credible in the eyes of whoever he "rescues", and her flying away when Mip appears, holding a makeshift crucifix is just her acting to make Mip appear more trustworthy in the eyes of whoever Mip's manipulating, which just so happened to be Charlie and Pim.
Alternatively, the Witch is another stalking victim of Mip
  • Perhaps that's why she now lives in a cave, because she'd dealt with Mip before and was likely driven to isolation because it was so hard to get away from him. He eventually lost interest and turned his obsession onto the Princess, as many stalkers have a history of creepy behavior before it escalates into violence. The Witch eating people might have even been because she was driven mad from the isolation, as she's shown to be decently good at cooking, showing that she's not completely insane. And if your stalker suddenly showed up at your new home with a cross after you did everything to avoid them, wouldn't you go screaming and flying out of the window too?
    • Speaking of which, what was Mip doing near her cave in the first place? Was he just passing by, or did he happen to see his old victim and, when he scared her away, used Charlie and Pim in his new plan?
    • Pushing this even further, the potion Mip gives Charlie ends up making him sick, but it also makes his skin green and bumpy, exactly like the Witch. Perhaps the Witch was repeatedly poisoned by Mip and it drove her to isolate herself?
To answer Desmond's question, "who's Dave?"
  • He's Dave, creator of Daveland! More specifically, Dave is just a guy who likely had a dream to open a theme park, but was either too unimaginative to think up a theme to base it around, or could not afford to license any existing characters. So he just decided to base it around himself.
DJ Spit and Mr. Man are twin brothers.
  • DJ Spit and Mr. Man are both twins who had some kind of falling out and went their separate ways, perhaps because of the shape of Mr. Man's head. When he gets angry or freaked out, however, his head morphs into what it's "supposed" to look like. Mr. Man probably had some kind of resentment towards his family and to himself, and as such, did everything he could to distinguish himself from his family, which is why he and DJ Spit look so different, have such different lives (Mr. Man has a rather nice house and seems to make decent income, while DJ Spit is a Sound Cloud artist who appears to be partially homeless) and why he hates Puerto Ricans despite DJ Spit being one; he's also Puerto Rican but is incredibly self hating.
    • This would also explain why he's so insecure about his head shape; he wishes he were normal looking and he only ever has a "normal" head when he's incredibly stressed.
Mr. Boss is a military veteran
He suffers from PTSD and founded Smiling Friends both to make up for whatever atrocities he'd committed during his service, as well as to help people through their own mental anguish. This is supported by the fact that during the Frowning Friends episode, he is shown to have access to high-powered assault weapons and his demeanor when storming the Frowning Friends building is one of pure animalistic bloodlust (perhaps reverting back to his wartime mentality?)
The partygoers were aware that Pim was in danger, and the “blackface” made the situation even worse
Simply, they knew the Forest Demon was trying to kill Pim, and the fact they believed the demon was wearing blackface simply angered them further to inflict the Cruel and Unusual Death onto him. Trying to kill someone is obviously bad, and wearing blackface is obviously bad, so when combined, they were absolutely livid.
Doug Walker will voice a character in one of the upcoming episodes in the 2nd season.
  • Doug's character of the Nostalgia Critic is a frequent topic discussed on OneyPlays, and he himself finds their parodies of him as the Nostalgia Critic pretty funny and they have a good enough relation with each other for him to make art depicting him and the avatars of the hosts together, so it's likely he'd agree to make a cameo or even voice a major character. He also is aware of the show's existence, as he's made a review of it, so it's possible that Zach could get him to appear if Doug has the free time for it.
If the Pube Eraser is found, they will voice a character loosely based on them in a future episode that will focus on that character.
Anyone forced to erase pubes frame by frame probably needs a visit from the Smiling Friends.
Mr. Boss is an FtM Transman who retained his female reproductive system and breasts
Hence why he can breastfeed his son.
  • It’s also possible he’s intersex and ended up developing breasts.
It's easy to get out of hell as it is to get into hell in the Smiling Friends 'verse.
Judging by the fact that both Charlie and his grandma went to hell for extremely minor reasons (being cynical and unpleasant and cursing some time ago), it's likely that God revives whoever He deems as having learned their lesson the moment they do so, so it's likely that the second that Charlie's grandma repents for saying damn, the big man Himself will appear to send her to heaven.
The aliens in the Enchanted Forest are refugees whose planet was destroyed.
The show will reference Eddsworld at some point
  • Not only is Eddsworld a Newgrounds classic, Chris O'Neil and Paul Ter Voorde have worked on both shows so it's bound to happen.
One day, Smiling Friends will get an anime adaptation.
Smormu will be back in season two
  • Yeah, sure, he died. But he'll somehow come back, because we all know how fond these guys are of a brick joke. Plus, the American people voted, so...
Mip and the Witch dated at some point, which is why she is the way she is, and had Mip lived, Charlie would have suffered the same fate.
  • Mip dated the Witch, and over the course of their relationship gave her the same potion he gave Charlie, only, because they were dating, she drank many over the course of their relationship. It's quite possible that, as she grew sicker and uglier, she may have tried to question Mip about it, but never figured out that Mip poisoned her, either due to Mip manipulating her or not wanting to believe that her boyfriend would do something so heinous. The potions would eventually cause Sanity Slippage and result in her being the cannibalistic insane witch she is now. Mip did the same thing to Charlie because of his romantic/sexual interest in him, and had Mip managed to survive and dated Charlie in any capacity, the same thing would have happened to him. Charlie only getting sick and turning green temporarily is because he only ever drank one potion.
Charlie's grandma is actually a elderly Mona
  • They both eat lollipops the same way, as pointed out on the YMMV page for Nanalan', which brings up the possibility of them being the same character.
The show takes place in the same universe as Regular Show
  • Mr. Boss and Pops have got to be related somehow, I mean just compare the two!
Mr. Frog is gonna be the president in season 2
  • We see in the season 2 trailer that he's coming back and that Pim and Charlie are gonna visit the president of the USA. But we never see the president in the trailer. Knowing that Mr. Frog has become the most powerful man in the world it's likely he'd use his newfound power to get himself as the leader of a country. All we see Mr. Frog do in the trailer is that he's ruining the enviornment, possibly his reason for being a client is that he's once again become engrossed in controversey because of that. Maybe it could be a commentary on celebrities trying to get into politics when they're not very qualified, e.g. Kanye West. Zach has also frequently made fun of Donald Trump when he's on Oneyplays, and seeing how trump is another controversial celebrity turned political figure with a devoted group of followers to an almost cultlike degree, it's possible Mr. Frog could act as a thinley veiled parody.
