Basically, after having Charming with King Constantine (see below theory), she also had Artie with Lillian’s brother, Uther Pendragon.
Prince Charming is actually the son of Cinderella and her Prince
When Cinderella and her Prince (I call him Prince Stanley) married and had children, they had Charming and Fairy Godmother took him from them as payment for helping Cinderella. This is quite like Welsh folklore, where fairies steal babies.
We also don’t hear about Artie’s mom. Artie only talks about his dad.
Queen Lillian’s father, King Constantine, is Prince Charming’s

Basically, the Fairy Godmother had a fling with him, which resulted in the birth of Charming being born and, as the Theorizer suggests, “their relationship begins to leak out”. This results in Fairy Godmother and Charming distancing themselves from the throne and waiting for an opportunity for Charming to marry into the royal family (Squick, anyone?). In the meantime, as the Theorizer also suggests, Fairy Godmother disposed of King Constantine and his wife, Queen Ivoire, “leaving the throne open for a new King, who she was going to make sure was Harold the frog”.
If the Queen of Hearts had been featured in the film, she would have been living her happy ending
She was married to the King of Hearts, who was her King Charming.
“Little Red Riding Hood” in this film is an imposter and is actually the Little Robber Girl from the Snow Queen
The REAL Little Red Riding Hood was seen delivering food to Hansel’s Honeymoon Hideout at the beginning of Shrek 2, and also in the respective video game, as one of the heroes. The one in Shrek 3 was also seen pickpocketing a dwarf, so Maybe she WAS the Little Robber Girl.
Rapunzel is Cinderella’s Stepmother

It explains why she’s evil.Basically, when she got together with Prince Marco (this troper’s name for her Prince), she found out she was infertile, so she went to The Fairy Godmother for her to create 2 children for her. The Godmother created to girls for her, who she called Doris and Mabel.Prince Marco died and Rapunzel married Cinderella’s father, but HE died too and the rest is the Shrek version of the Cinderella fairy tale.Her true form could have been middle-aged and the Godmother could’ve made her LOOK young
Prince Charming is Artie's father
Artie said his father walked out on him because he didn't think he was worth the time, and weirdly enough they look AWFULLY similar. Just because Artie came from royalty doesn't mean his father has to be the royal one. He could have found a noble's daughter (Fiona's cousin), seduced her, knocked her up and then left the both of them when he saw a better opportunity (like, say, "rescuing" the princess to an incredibly prosperous kingdom like Far Far Away). It would look bad if he, being made to marry a princess, had a bastard son. Plus, Artie is very awkward and unprincely. Ten bucks says Fairy Godmother was paying his school bill to keep him hidden.
It would have also added another layer to the story and its Central Theme of responsibility. Shrek's primary conflict in the movie is that he is suffering from anxiety brought on with the idea of becoming a father and he refuses to be crowned king when offered the chance because he knows he isn't qualified for the job in-spite of the perks that come with it. As a foil, the villain Prince Charming wants the crown for the pomp and pageantry (clearly unqualified for the role) and if he ran out on his kid for personal ambitions. No love to keep a family together, unlike with Shrek and Fiona, where love is what kept them from being forced apart in the first two movies. Charming could be the hero's Shadow Archetype; the kind of person Shrek would have been like without his better qualities (his sense of responsibility, his integrity and his capacity for compassion).
The Evil Queen already HAD her happy ending.
She was married to the King (aka Snow White’s father), so he would’ve been her true love. But his death was part of the reason why she became evil.
After her reformation, the Evil Queen became known as the REFORMED Queen.
Lillian is the Tiana of the Shrek universe.
Well, Shrek 3 came out 2 years prior to The Princess and the Frog, but Lillian could be an early version of Tiana and, as such, a Faux Disney Princess.Also, does that mean that Lillian was temporarily turned into a frog when she kissed Harold? If not, I'm pretty sure that there would be another Princess in the Shrek universe that's based on Tiana who's simply called "The Frog Princess."
