     Season 1
The villains aren't actually Skrulls
The MCU has a much more positive view of the Skrulls than the original Marvel Universe did. And if Talos, in the trailer, doesn't recognise that he's surrounded by Skrulls... is that because he's not? Perhaps they’ll use a similar Marvel threat instead, such as Dire Wraiths, the Phalanx or some variant of rogue LMDs.
  • It probably won't be the Dire Wraiths, as Hasbro does own them along with Rom.
  • The seeming conflict is actually the Kree stirring things up and making the Skrulls mistrust each other, leading both sides to think the other is betraying them.
  • Jossed as of the show's premiere, given Gravik (the supposed leader of the Skrull faction) is the Big Bad.

There's a civil war brewing between two factions of Skrulls.
Given that the Skrulls were forced to do horrific things back when the Kree were targeting them in The '90s, the plot may center around one half that has embraced their inner darkness and wants to somehow betray humanity to get an edge against the Kree, and a second half that still has their morality and wants to protect and assist humanity no matter what.
  • Episode 2 establishes that not all Skrulls are on board with Gravik's plan.

Possible characters that could appear in this series:
  • Yon-Rogg, given that Starforce member Bron-Char is shown to be in the first trailer, and he was the leader of the group. Plus, Yon-Rogg would likely want revenge on humanity for his failure to subjugate them in Captain Marvel.
    • Jossed.
  • Soren, given her involvement with Spider-Man in Far From Home, and her close relationship with Talos.
    • Confirmed...but only mentioned in the show proper due to her dying off-screen before the events of this series. note
  • Talos's daughter, now all grown up and perhaps trying to keep human-Skrull relationships civil, due to spending much of her childhood on Earth.
    • Confirmed. G'iah is a major character in this series.
  • Jimmy Woo, seeing as though he's already aware of Skrulls in WandaVision, and the chances of the FBI getting involved in a shapeshifting alien espionage thriller seems likely.
    • Jossed
  • Carol Danvers. As she pointed out back in Captain Marvel, her Photon Blasts (and her powers in general) make her easy to be trusted, as the Skrulls can not replicate her ability.
    • Jossed. According to Word of God, Carol will not appear in the series.
  • Moon Knight. With the series (appearing) to partially take place in the UK, Mark/Steven/Jake could make a small cameo in the series. Thankfully Spector's power can not be replicated!
    • Jossed
  • A still alive Maria Rambeau.
    • Jossed
  • Darcy Lewis.
    • Jossed
  • Gravik will turn out to be the MCU equivalent to the Super-Skrull.
    • Potentially Confirmed, as Gravik names drop "Super-Skrull" in Episode 3.

The character Emilia Clarke is playing is Talos's daughter as an adult.
Since Monica has joined S.W.O.R.D. in her adult years to explore and keep friendly relations with alien worlds, it'd be a neat contrast to see Talos's daughter stay on Earth to keep humans and Skrulls safe as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
  • Confirmed by Vanity Fair. Clarke is playing G'iah, which is the name of Talos's now fully-grown daughter.

The original Nick Fury will appear.
The white version of Nick Fury will be introduced in his Man on The Wall persona as an ally who's fighting the invasion. The Fury we've been following is actually his son: Nick Fury Jr.
  • Alternatively, he'll be a version of Fury's father, Jack Fury.
    • The official trailer hints that Fury's dad was also named Nicolas Fury and that his grave is a safehouse
      • Jossed for the Grave Theory as of Episode 5 reveals the grave is a decoy grave.
  • As a bonus, he'll be played by David Hasselhoff.
  • Jossed.

it will be revealed that Ronan the Accuser was replaced by a Skrull as an Author's Saving Throw
The Ronan we previously saw die had actually been a Skrull and the real, Truer to the Text Ronan has been a Skrull prisoner all along. This will allow them to retcon the Generic Doomsday Villain which Ronan had previously been shown as rather than the traditional Noble Demon portrayal.
  • Well, Ronan was nearly impossible to kill with either conventional weapons/blasters to even missiles and explosions as would any Kree. Skrulls go down very easily (there’s no indication they completely inherit the impersonated species’ powers or even physiology), so this might not be possible.
  • Jossed.

Characters that will get swapped out by Skrulls
Much like it's source material, various characters will be revealed to be Skrull imposters. So who is really a Skrull?
  • Nick Fury (not counting the previous impersonation by Talos)
    • Confirmed...TWICE. Gravik changes into Fury, which leads to Maria Hill's death and Fury being framed. AND G'iah poses as Fury in the Finale to gain the abilities of the Harvest.
  • Maria Hill (not counting the previous impersonation by Soren)
    • Jossed. Gravik kills her while he dons Nick Fury's appearance.
  • Everett Ross
    • Confirmed. A Skrull warrior took away his identify.
  • Rhodey / War Machine
    • Confirmed
  • USA President Ritson
  • Sharon Carter
  • Sonya Falsworth
  • Elektra
  • Agent Woo
  • Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine
  • Talos's human form (to set him up)
    • Semi-confirmed. Talos disguises himself as two other people at the start of the series. He is often seen in his regular human form afterwards.
    • Fully Confirmed for Episode 3, where one of Gravik's allies briefly impersonates Talo's voice.
  • One of the Dora Milaje (Okoye, Ayo, Aneka)
  • Director Tyler Hayward
  • Dr. Selvig
  • Members of the Global Repretration Council
  • Jasper Sitwell (with the real Sitwell still alive in captivity and his "death" was an impostor Skrull)
  • Melina Vostokoff (this would explain why she isn't a member of the Thunderbolts)
  • Ralph Bohner
  • Xu Xialing
  • Valkyrie
  • Abigail Brand
  • Kang
  • Priscilla
    • Jossed. Priscilla is actually a Skrull posing as a Human and not a impersonation.
  • Confirmed Skrull Impersonations: Everett Ross, Nick Fury(x2!), Talos, Rhodey

The series will show more of Fury's past
The series will show flashbacks to a young Fury working under the tutelage of Peggy Carter and Howard Stark. The series will also reveal that Fury had feelings for another SHIELD member...
  • Confirmed. Episode 2 begins in 1997, while Episode 3 begins in 1998.

The series will reveal that Fury had a past relationship with Valentina
If Fury's past is expanded on, the series will mirror the comics by revealing that Fury and Valentina had an intimate relationship. However, the relationship ended on a sour note. Bonus points, if the series also reveals they were previously married. If that comes true, Fury's coded throwaway line about how his "Wife kicked him out" in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, may of had a Double Meaning, than it's intended Covert Distress Code.
  • Well Valentina being Fury's ex wife looks unlikely as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever reveals Valentina is instead the ex-wife of Everett Ross.
  • Granted, Valentina could be a Serial Spouse.
  • Fury does have a wife, but it's not Valentina. Though this fact doesn't Joss the theory.
  • Valentina does not appear in the series

Talos is working with the Skrulls/Antagonists, just so he can be a Double Agent for Fury
Considering their bonding in Captain Marvel, Talos will become Fury's inside man. It would also give the series' title a Double Meaning, with it also refering to Talos infiltrating the antagonists.
  • Jossed. Talos is only alligned with Fury, as he no longer leads the Skrulls. It's G'iah who is the double agent.

Lockheed will make his debut in Secret Invasion
In the comics, he works as a secret spy for S.W.O.R.D., it would be interesting if the tiny alien dragon made his debut in the MCU, before he appears in an MCU X-Men movie. Lockheed's appearance in Secret Invasion would become an Adaptational Early Appearance, Lockheed will appear before he met Kitty Pryde.
  • Jossed.

Abigail Brand is going to appear
According to rumors and leaks, Emilia Clarke would be Abigail Brand. It would make sense for Abigail Brand to appear in the series, since S.W.O.R.D. It's not the same without its famous commander Abigail Brand.
  • Confirmed. Brand will be played by Clarke.
  • Double-jossed. The rumors were false; Clarke will actually play Talos's daughter. Brand did not appear in the show.

Goose and the Flerkens are coming back
It is confirmed that Goose is going to return in The Marvels, so it would be interesting to see her again and see what Goose has been, since Nick Fury kept her as a pet and Goose is still alive in 2025.
  • Jossed, but she and the Flerkens will appear in The Marvels.

The series will clear up the movements of the Skrulls and Fury
The series will elaborate on the confusion of several plot points over Nick Fury and the actions of the Skrulls:
  • Why did Talos and Soren return to Earth? And what was the purpose of impersonating Fury and Maria Hill?
    • After the events of Captain Marvel Talos and Soren worked in gathering intelligence for Fury. However, the reason for the impersonation in Spider-Man: Far From Home is still unclear.
  • Whether Fury and Hill were actually dusted in Avengers: Infinity War, or if it was Talos and Soren impersonating as them?
    • The series confirms that Fury was indeed dusted.
  • When did the Skrulls return to Earth after Captain Marvel? Or did some Skrulls remain on Earth in secret?
    • The show confirms that some Skrulls remained on Earth post Captain Marvel. Fury offered temporary refuge, on the condition that Skrulls disguise themselves as Human. Fury only intended this as temporary measure, while a new location for the Skrull are found. However, the Skrulls were never able to find a new home by 2025. In addition, Talos secretly relocated all remaing Skrulls to Earth for safe refuge.
  • The whereabouts of the real Maria Hill. And why she wasn't with Fury on the S.W.O.R.D. spaceship?
    • Maria remained working on Earth, as it was Fury who chose to leave Earth.
  • Why Fury left Earth after Avengers: Endgame, and where is the S.W.O.R.D spaceship heading to? And why did Fury suddenly return back to Earth?
    • Fury appeared to be haunted from being snapped during Infinity War and decided to volunteer to work at the spaceship S.A.B.E.R. He returned to Earth, after Talos tipped Maria off about the Skrulls.

The Series will take place in the present and during the five year time jump
This would explain the confusion on where it takes place on the MCU timeline. The series will mostly take place in the "MCU Present"(2025), but will flashback to the 5 year gap, to explain how the Skrulls invaded Earth.
  • Jossed.

The apparent absence of Talos in The Marvels is a potential spoiler for Secret Invasion.
Despite being in the first entry, Ben Mendlesohn is not yet confirmed for the sequel. This could be a hint that something will happen to the character in Secret Invasion. Or it could be a minor reason, like he was simply cut from The Marvels for story and logistic purposes. However the most insane idea is that Fury doesn't survive Secret Invasion, and Talos will impersonate as Fury for the next several film entries, to keep up the Skrull ruse.
  • Episode 4 ends with an already wounded Talos getting stabbed by Gravik and left on the ground...
  • CONFIRMED. Talos is declared dead in Episode 5.

Chloe Bennet will reprise her role as a retconned Daisy Johnson/Quake
Rumors suggest that Chloe Bennett would reprise her Agents of Shield role of Daisy Johnson/Quake for the series. While Bennet publicly denied the rumors, she had to drop out of the (now scrapped) live-action adaptation of The Powerpuff Girls series, due to "scheduling conflicts". This is noteworthy, as filming for The Powerpuff Girls would have coincided with Secret Invasion's production. Coincidence?

If Quake is set to appear, she would likely be a retconned version of Quake, to distance the MCU from Agents of Shield and to omit her backstory as "Skye".

  • Jossed. Daisy doesn't appear.

The characters from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will appear
They'll be brought in through Multiverse shenanigans and will be a Spanner in the Works that help Fury save the day. As a result of their arrival Fury will step up his game and start making plans for any Multiversal visitors that may not be so friendly.
  • Jossed.

The Ten Rings will appear
Fury will need some "unofficial" off the books help and the Ten Rings would fit the bill for something like that perfectly.
  • Or the actual "10 Rings" will be revisited, with the focus on the surprise beacon in the rings. This could reveal the intended recipient. (Kree, Skrulls, S.W.O.R.D., Eternals)
  • Jossed.

The villainous Skrulls will be well intentioned
The antagonist Skrulls are ultimately on Earth's side but feel that they have to go further than Fury would be willing to in order to protect it. Like say the Kree gearing up for a big return and feeling Fury and his agents won't be enough.
  • Jossed. Gravik's main priorities are to oppose Humans.

The actual villains will be the Kree
The antagonist Skrulls are a misdirect and the real threat will be the Kree, who are disguising themselves as humans to subvert both the Skrulls and Fury.
  • Jossed.

Kang is orchestrating everything
He feels that Fury is a threat and is trying to weaken if not completely remove the Skrulls to deprive him of one of the biggest assets he has.
  • Jossed.

The Sacred Timeline version of the Inhumans will be introduced
Possibly as an Easter Egg or way towards the end. The Kree will be the actual villains and they are coming for Earth to find and reclaim their living weapons. They'll orchestrate the tension between the Skrulls to hide what they're up to but Fury will find out just before their masterstroke happens and thwart them.
  • Jossed.

Deathlok will appear
The actor who played him on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has expressed interest in returning to the role and the MCU isn't above bringing in past actors to play new versions in the mainline titles.
  • Jossed.

This series will set up Armor Wars
  • Rhodey is confirmed to appear and will play a role in at least one episode. The Skrulls want to get their hands on Tony's tech and their plans will lead said tech winding up in criminal hands.
    • The Rhodey we see in Secret Invasion will be revealed as a Skrull impostor, but we'll also discover the real one is still alive. Armor Wars will then focus on the real Rhodey coming back, being really pissed at what has happened in his absence, and cleaning up the various messes made by his now deceased impostor.
  • Confirmed in Marvel's press interviews that Secret Invasion will connect to Armor Wars.

Secret Invasion will chronologically take place after The Marvels
The series will keep the viewers in the dark over Fury's purpose of going into space or his return back to Earth. Fury will ominously allude to how "something happened in space". The series will end with the revelation of what happened with Fury (involving a Plot Twist that will affect the MCU). But the actual drama won't be shown until The Marvels.
  • Likely Jossed.

Sonya will betray Fury to the Skrulls
But instead of her being a Skrull imposter, she is actually allying herself with the Skrulls.
  • Episode 2 implied they are not allies...for now.
  • Mixed. Sonya briefly pretends to be against Fury in the Finale, but it's just a ruse against "Rhodey"/Ravaa.

Charlayne Woodard is playing a significant character...and possibly connected to S.H.I.E.L.D.
Identity theories for her Character:
  • A retconned version of Victoria Hand
  • Sally Blevins (Skids)
  • Abigail Brand
    • Jossed.
  • Jessica Drew
  • A recasted version of Anne Weaver
  • Danielle Moonstar
  • Kitty Pryde
  • Katherine Waynesboro
  • A gender swapped existing character
  • An original character
    • Pre-Confirmed. Woodard will play an original character named Priscilla, who is rumored to be a S.W.O.R.D. agent and Fury's secret wife.
    • Confirmed. Episode 2 reveals that Varra (AKA Priscilla) is indeed Fury's Wife...and is a Skrull posing a human.

Valentina is forming the Thunderbolts because...she knows about the Skrull infiltration
In The Falcon and the Winter Solider, Valentina vaguely mentions "that things are going to get weird" to John Walker. And that a "US Agent" will be necessary, instead of a "Captain America". Why? Because she already knows that some Skrulls have begun to pose as faux Avengers and Allies. There are three potential reasons on why she would then form the Thunderbolts:
  • Scenario 1: Valentina knows that Skrulls will be less likely to pose as known criminals to infiltrate Earth's governments. Because of this, Valentina knows she can easily trust criminals who just want a 2nd chance with life, over the widely know heroes that might be Skrulls in disguise.
  • Scenario 2: Valentina is working with the Skrulls. The Thunderbolts will be framed as "the heroes who saved Earth from the Skrulls." But in reality, Valentina and the Skrulls use the Thunderbolts to conqueror the planet, with the Thunderbolts becoming a "World Police" militia.
  • Scenario 3: Valentina is not aligned with the Skrulls, but uses the alien invasion to give herself power via the Thunderbolts. She paints the team as heroes stopping the invasion, but in reality, she is only forming the team for her own gain.
  • Because Valentina did not appear in the series, the theory can not be confirmed or denied yet. However, scenario #2 is likely jossed, due to Gravik's faction of Skrulls opposing Humans.

Everett Ross is on the lam after escaping custody in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Instead of seeking refuge in Wakanda, Ross will risk being incarcerated, so he can aid Fury. This would explain why Ross is seen hiding in an alleyway in the Teaser Trailer.
  • In Episode 1, it is revealed that Everett Ross was being impersonated by a Skrull. The location of the real Ross is unknown.
  • Episode 8 reveals that Everett Ross was being held hostage by the Skrulls. It's unclear when the real Ross was swapped out for the imposter.

Maria Rambeau faked her death, because she uncovered the Skrull Infiltration.
Much like Fury in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we'll learn Maria's still ALIVE. During the five year Time Skip, Maria learned about the plot to infiltrate Earth. To avoid enemy suspicion, she fakes her death. Unfortunately, Maria can't reveal to her snapped/blipped daughter Monica that she's alive without blowing her cover.
  • Sadly Jossed.

The existence of the Skrulls will be revealed to the Public
  • Confirmed, Talos's actions to save President Ritson is caught on camera and aired to the world.

The Chitauri will be revealed to have some connection to the Skrulls (perhaps being their evolutionary 'cousins' or something) as a nod to their Comic Book roots as the Ultimate Universe's incarnation of the Skrulls
  • Jossed.

Mystique will make her MCU Debut in Secret Wars
The scenario of 'Skrulls posing as Humans' will be flipped, and the Human Mutant Mystique will pose as a Skrull.
  • Jossed.

President Ritson will be written out in Secret Invasion
Kevin Feige leaked that Thunderbolt Ross will become the U.S. President by Captain America: New World Order. This means something causes Ritson to leave his post as President. And while it could be from Term Limits, it would make more sense that something happens to President Ritson in Secret Invasion.
  • Ritson dies during Secret Invasion and (presumed) Vice President Thunderbolt Ross takes over the duties.
    • Ritson is severely injured during Gravik's attack in Episode 4. But he is still alive in Episode 5.
  • Ritson is a Skrull posing as the President. This is why Fury returned to Earth, as he knows that Ritson is a fake.
    • This would also explain Ritson's hostile attitude to Wakanda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as he is trying to weaken U.S.-Wakanda relations.
      • Likely Jossed. Raava still poses as Rhodey in front of Ritson.
  • The Skrull Invasion becomes public, causing Ritson to lose reelection or he resigns in disgrace.
    • This is the most likely theory for Ritson's exit. In Episode 6, Ritson declares lethal force against all extraterrestrial beings on Earth. Fury warns him that his actions are of a "One Term President".

As a way to build up to the Fantastic Four's debut, Gravik will be revealed as the MCU equivalent to the Super-Skrull
  • Gravik names drop "Super-Skull" in Episode 3.

President Ritson's character
Judging by how the MCU has been portraying the American government post-Blip, as seen in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and especially Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ritson will probably be a Hate Sink making General Dreykov and the High Evolutionary look like paragons of charm.
  • His personality isn't so much Hate Sink, but his naiveté borders on Too Dumb to Live.
  • Confirmed. Ritson goes too far after he learns of the existence of Skrulls. He declares lethal force to all extraterrestrial beings on Earth. Not only are his actions hypocritical (after he was saved by Talos), but he also puts other individuals lives in jeopardy from the declaration.

Possible characters who could appear in the series
Since Phase Five is going to introduce new characters from Marvel in the MCU, it is possible for any other characters appearing in the series
  • Blazing Skull
  • Captain Britain
  • Retcon Version of Elektra
  • Spider-Woman
  • All Jossed

Possible villains who could appear in the series
With Phase Five introducing new characters from Marvel in the MCU,it is possible for any other villains appearing in the series.
  • Mystique
  • Sin
  • Silver Surfer
  • All Jossed

G'iah and Abigail Brand will be a Composite Character in the MCU.
Namely, Abigail Brand will be G'iah's human alias who works for the government as a cover.
  • Jossed.

With Soren being MIA in the marketing of the show, it seems that Soren will be written out of the MCU. Her death would motivate Talos to avenge her death, but also lead to Talos's falling out with his daughter, G'iah.
  • Confirmed. Soren was allegedly killed off by Gravik or his people. However, she wasn't the only victim, as Episode 1 ends with Maria Hill's death.

The series will be considered Nick Fury's 'Swan Song', and the series will end with Fury's death
Recent promotional material have implied that this will be Fury's final mission. The series could be a proper send-off for Fury, after his 15 year run in the MCU. And while Samuel L. Jackson, is set to reappear in the upcoming The Marvels (2023), this could be a clever Red Herring, to hide Fury's death in Secret Invasion. This wouldn't be the first Marvel project that duped fans into thinking a character was safe from death, just because they were set to appear in a future Marvel film.
  • Jossed, Fury lives!

Fury is replaced with an imposter Skrull for a portion of the series.
To mess with the audience, Fury will be revealed to be a Skrull for a duration of the series. And unlike before, Fury will not orchestrate it this time. The true Nick Fury will still appear in the series, but viewers will be kept in the dark, over who is the real Fury is.
  • Confirmed, Twice! Gravik briefly impersonates Fury in Episode 1, where he fatally wounds Maria AND G'iah poses as Fury in Episode 6.

Related to the above, Fury NEVER came back to Earth
At least not in the bombastic fashion shown, as in, Fury in the series is a Skrull while the real one is still on the space station where we find him in The Marvels. Bonus points if this Skrull Got Volunteered because he's also missing an eye, and his bad eye is a remote cam for the real Fury to observe everything.
  • Jossed. It was the real Fury.

Past or Existing MCU Characters that could make a surprise appearance in the series.
  • Valentina (because she has a habit of doing so)
    • Jossed. According to Word of God, Val will not appear in the series.
  • Thunderbolt Ross
  • Captain Marvel
  • Maria Rambeau
  • Phil Coulson
  • Daisy Johnson
  • Melinda May
  • Sharon Carter
  • Peggy Carter
  • Hank Pym
  • All Jossed.

Fury is framed by the Skrulls.
In a recent promo, Fury appears to shoot a grenade at a government helicopter. This does not gel with the loyal Fury that we know (the same man who fought against treasonous HYDRA agents in Captain America: The Winter Solider). The most likely explanation is that a Skrull poses as Fury to frame him! The enemy faction of the Skrulls view Fury as a threat. Not only because he formed the Avengers, but because he knows about the Skrulls shapeshifting abilities.
  • Episode 1 ends with Maria Hill being shot to death by Gravik while he's disguised as Nick Fury. Though Fury is apprehended briefly, no one actually frames him.
  • In Episode 4, "Skrull Rhodey" threatens Fury over the footage of Gravik as Fury shooting Maria. The episode reveals that Fury wasn't shooting at a government helicopter, but rather at helicopter helmed by rogue Skrulls posing as Russians.
  • Officially Confirmed. The staged video is released to the public in Episode 5.

Samuel L. Jackson will finally get to say the F-Bomb as Nick Fury.
While Samuel L. Jackson has played Fury for over a decade, he has never been able to say his favorite curse word in the MCU. The closest time he did, was in The Stinger of Avengers: Infinity War, which turned into Curse Cut Short. However, with the recent usage of the F-Bomb in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Jackson may be allowed to say the word at least once in the series.
  • Disney+ in the United Kingdom slapped a "Parental Advisory" message on promotional material for the show. Coincidence?
  • Jossed.

Maria isn't actually dead.
She's been replaced with a Skrull and is currently in hiding.
  • Unlikely. Skrulls revert back to their true form upon death, while Hill's body remains unchanged after she dies.
  • While Maria was not a Skrull, it's still possible that her wound wasn't actually fatal. Much like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Fury may have her recuperating from her bullet wound, under the pretense that she "died". This would also explain why Fury's grief over Maria is oddly subdued, despite his close relationship with Maria.
  • Jossed...for now.

Nick Fury will get his He's Back! moment at the end of the show.
  • So far, The show have Nick Fury in his vulnerable state and the event of Avengers: Infinity War really affected him both emotionally and physically that cause him to feel very vulnerable with everyone (including Talos and Rhodey) begins to doubting him. But at the end of the show, Fury will make an epic comeback once he overcome his issues and proves to everyone why he's Nick Fury. If Secret Invasion takes place before The Marvels (2023), Fury seemed to go back to his old self again.

G'iah will die at the end of the season
  • G'iah will finally realize how crazy Gravik is, and how he really doesn't care about the other Skrulls he claims to champion. She will try to do a Heel–Face Turn, only for Garvik to catch on and set up her death. It will be done in a way where Talos witnesses it but can't stop it.
  • Confirmed? Episode 3 ends with G'iah being shot.
    • JOSSED. G'iah survives! She previously gave herself the Super Skrull procedure, which led to her surviving her bullet wound.
      • Neither confirmed nor jossed so far: G'iah was shot at the end of episode 3, episode 4 reveals she survived this. She may yet die by, or in, the finale. And given the usual "Death is temporary" treatment, Talos might be back to see it happen.
  • Jossed. G'iah survives the series.

G'iah didn't actually die in Episode 3.
Another Skrull impersonated as G'iah, to let the real one escape. Sadly that Skrull is dead.
  • Mixed, but Confirmed. G'iah was shot, but survived the wound thanks to Extremis.

Fury suspects Rhodey is a Skrull, because "Rhodey" called Fury by his first name.
Fury tells Talos in Episode 3, that he knows of a Skrull posing as a high profile person, but we never learn who said person is or how he learned that fact. Later in the episode, the Skrull posing as Fairbanks fails to fool Fury, as the Skrull calls him "Nick". And as we all know, no one is allowed to call him by his first name. So why did Rhodey say "Nick", instead "Fury" in Episode 2? Because Rhodey is a Skrull. And that slip-up was what tipped off Fury.
  • Confirmed in episode 4. A female Skrull AKA Ravaa has been posing as Rhodey. Fury figured this out from the phone call that Varra made to "Rhodey" in his presence in episode 3, and then eavesdropped on her meeting with "Rhodey" at the church at the start of episode 4.

Gravik is Varra and Fury's son.
Or at least Varra's. Just a crazy idea that occurred to me.
  • Not biologically likely in Fury's case. Fury did not meet Varra until 1997, where Gravik had already been born. The only ways this is could still be possible, is if either Fury unknowingly slept with a disguised Varra or the Skrulls obtained Fury's genetic material to conceive Gravik. Granted, Fury could still have adopted Gravik as a surrogate son.
  • I'm going with no; while it's not clear how Skrulls age compared to humans, Varra introduced Gravik to Fury in 1997 as a child seemingly older than G'iah was at the time, and says his parents died fighting the Kree. This is two years after Fury first met Talos and the other Skrulls hiding on Mar-Vell's orbiting lab. The timeline makes it impossible for Fury to be Gravik's father, and Gravik's actions in 1997 make it highly unlikely Varra is his mother.
  • Jossed.

The reason that the show looks relatively "cheap" compared to a lot of other MCU TV shows (i.e. fewer special effects, elaborate set pieces or costumes) is because much of the budget went to Samuel L. Jackson's salary.

I'm kinda half-joking about this. It is something I've genuinely started wondering, as he's almost certainly far and away the most expensive actor yet to star in a Marvel Studios television show.

The Invasion is successful to some degree.
Fury may stop Gravik, but an unknown amount of Skrulls will remain on Earth. This will lead the Marvel fandom to remain suspicious of nearly every character, even after the series concludes.
  • Jossed, quite the opposite happens. Gravik is taken out and the imprisoned Humans are freed. But what is worse, is that President Ritson's "no tolerance" approach to any alien life forms, lead to vigilante killings of several Skrulls and innocent victims.

Since Fury drank some of the whiskey in episode four, he now has the liquid tracker inside him as well.
Thus the Skrulls may be able to use that against him.
  • Jossed. The tracker liquid is longer relevant after Gravik's attack.

Raava and Varra are sisters, or are at least related somehow.
Their names sound similar, and they appear to know each other very well based on their interactions with one another.

G'iah and Gravik are now both considered "Mutants"
While both Skrulls were not naturally born with the "Mutant Gene", both characters now have Mutant Genetic material in their bodies, because of the Super-Skrull program. This could be a side affect of the program or the result of using the genetic material from Mutants for the Super-Skrull program.
  • Or like humans, they were born mutants and only survived the Super Skrull procedure because of that.
  • If they are now Mutants, then this would be the first live action appearance of Alien Mutants for Marvel.

Gravik will not be holding up his end of the deal
There is no way that Gravik would just give his word to Fury if the latter gives him The Harvest.

He has been nothing but be a selfish, hypocritical, and murderous person, since besides letting one Skrull go, he had Pagon execute Brogan for revealing information about the latter’s plans to Sonya when she was interrogating him about

Even if Fury gives The Harvest that was from The Avengers, he will likely break his deal and will start the Invasion, while telling Fury that he lied about his end of the deal.

  • In the end of the series, Gravik doesn't get the opportunity to take out Fury. G'iah immediately breaks her ruse as Fury, just after the Harvest is administered.

Gravik’s peers and crew will turn against him
Because of how dangerous he has become and how far he has he has gone, even his own crew and Raava becoming disgusted with his actions.

Once Gravik starts the War or otherwise goes too far, the rest of them (presumably excluding Raava) will turn against him and will side with Fury, along with his allies like Sonya.

  • Confirmed. After Talos's and Pagon's deaths, the Skrulls attempt a Mutiny on Gravik in Episode 5. However, the mutiny fails.

Gravik will be given "The Reason You Suck" Speech
Once he starts to go too far in his goal of taking over, he will end up being called out for his actions because of how he has been nothing but a cruel and selfish jerkass to his own crew and wants to cause.
  • Confirmed in Episode 5, with Pagon chewing Gravik out in front of the other Skrulls. It doesn't end well for Pagon though...

Fury will apologize to The Skrulls and help find the a new home

Because of how The Skrulls that are working for Gravik have been doing crimes due to Captain Marvel and Talos not giving their word or promise on giving them a home.

Once he takes Gravik down hopefully, he will apologize to will finally help The Skrulls find a new home for them to live on.

  • Jossed. It's G'iah and Sonya who choose to work with each other, with the intent for Skrulls to remain on Earth.

Rhodey will be rescued
He hasn't been shown at all in the series since being impersonated by a skrull named Raava.

The last time that we saw him was only in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which was only as a cameo in the first episode.Because of how his actions have done nothing but cause danger for the worst he has done over the series, it would make sense since he has done nothing but be abusive to even his own allies.

  • Confirmed in the Finale.

Gravik will end up either being killed or arrested
Because of how his actions have done nothing but danger for the worst he has done over the series, it would make sense since he has done nothing but being abusive to even his own allies.
  • Confirmed. G'iah kills him in the finale.

Rhodes was replaced in the middle of Civil War
After getting injured in the airport fight the point where the Skrull's likely took Rhodes and replaced him was when Rhodes was taken away for treatment following the airport fight when Vision was too depressed and Tony and Nat too busy with the fallout to keep track of him. It couldn't have been sooner because they'd have reverted back after the crash. From the final scene of that movie since, it's been the Skrull. This paints the scene in Endgame with Nebula and "I wasn't always like this." "Me neither, but we work with what we've got" in a totally different light. It also means the real Rhodes is gonna return expecting Tony to still be alive and the Avengers as he knew them to still be active.
  • The theory is potentially hinted at the end of Episode 6, where the real Rhodey is found wearing a hospital gown.

Rhodey was replaced between Iron Man and Iron Man 2
Raava didn't get his appearance even close, but luckily for her everyone was either oblivious or too polite to say anything. When it comes time to free the captive humans from the Skrull base, Terrence Howard will be the one who comes back.
  • Jossed, Don Cheadle still potrays the real Rhodey.

The Skrulls will be revealed to have been involved with Nick Fury faking his death in Winter Soldier.
It would be a nice way to try on their presence in that movie without necessarily changing a whole lot in the story.
  • Jossed.

We've actually been following two Nick Furys, and one of them is secretly Soren.
When Gravik had Soren killed, she managed to survive her murder attempt and conspired with Fury to lure Gravik into a trap. Bonus points for when Soren does reveal her deception, she briefly shifts back into Fury to say, "Surprise, mother—" but, for obvious rating-related reasons, gets cut off.
  • Jossed.

Fury has Skrull DNA in his body.
He has always been himself in most of the MCU, but Fury was somehow exposed to Skrull Genetic Material in his past. His line about how the Skrulls "like the cold" in Episode 5, might be a hint.
  • Jossed.

Related to the above, Fury willingly UnPersons himself at the end
He goes even deeper underground by using Skrull shapeshifting to change his appearance. And maybe, with a shot of Extremis, grow back his other eye to better blend in.
  • Jossed.

Harrison Ford will make his debut as the recasted Thunderbolt Ross in the Series Finale.
It will explain how Ross becomes the new US President for Captain America: Brave New World.
  • Jossed, but the unrelated Everett Ross appears!

The mid or post credits will set up Armor Wars
The series has said that it will have a follow up in Armor Wars, so it definitely would make sense for the mid credits or post credits to set up Armor Wars.
  • Jossed. There are no end credits.

The mid or post credits will set up The Marvels
Because of how Ms. Marvel has Captain Marvel make a cameo in the season finale, it definitely would make sense for the mid credits or post credits to set up The Marvels, with Fury contacting Monica.
  • Jossed. There are no end credits.

     Post-Release
Armor Wars has Rhodey dealing with the fallout of his imposter
Depending on long he was replaced, Rhodey will now have to deal with the fallout of what his imposter did. That will include discovering the Skrull allowed secrets of Tony's armor technology to get out and be used by various criminals. Thus, Rhodey will don War Machine again to hunt down and destroy the tech while also getting used to the new world he's woken up to.
  • Armor Wars may also tie-in the rebelling employees of Stark Industries, whom appeared in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

World War III might still happen.
Anti-Skrull terrorists and vigilantes are running around everywhere provoked by President Ritson's words, killing Skrulls impersonating humans and genuine humans alike. British Prime Minister Pamela Lawton is explicitly among the genuine human victims, meaning not even political leaders and other such public figures are safe from reckless crossfire. This kind of violence across borders would probably stoke some bad blood between countries.

The events of Secret Invasion will only be referenced briefly in The Marvels or not even mentioned at all.
Because Secret Invasion and The Marvels are seperate Marvel productions made by different people, there is a potential disconnect between sister productions. This occured occasionally during Phase 4, where seemingly important plot moments were either forgotten or ignored in subsequent projects (the whereabouts of White Vision, Tiamut emerging from Earth, the Egyptian monolithic fight involving Dr. Harrow and Moon Knight).
  • Confirmed. Fury never mentioned the Skrull Invasion on Earth.

Sonya and Valentina are "frenemies".
With both women operating in the upper echelons of the world, there is chance they both know each other personally. Both women wil act kind and cordial to each other. However, neither of them actually trusts the other, as they only have their own interests at heart. Expect the two of them to share a formal teatime, with their conversation full of back-handed compliments.

     Sequel Theories
Thanks to the Harvest, non-Wakandans have a way to replicate the Heart Shaped Herb effect
This one's going to pop up in Thunderbolts as their ace in the hole.

G'iah's body will reject the powers
Having that many different sets of biology, serums, and other power sources will be more than a Skrull's biology can bear. The powers will start to malfunction and slowly kill her.

G'iah will die in Secret Wars
G'iah will use her myriad powers to hold off Kang's army, giving the battered Avengers time to retreat before numbers overwhelm her.
