The sketches are gradually getting longer, and fuller in detail. This is how it appears to us, but the sketches have always been like that and the chicken is only just now starting to notice.

The copyrighted characters that have been parodied are really what they are like after their respective shows end.
All the characters featured on the show, from Star Wars to Thunder Cats to He-Man are all really what they are like when their respective shows have been canceled. Kinda what they would be like if there was a meta behind the scenes thing going on. Hell most of them are voiced by their respective actors too.
After spending his life in an institution he educated himself so he could get a PHD, but he still had the urge to kill even without his tiger. And the rest is history....

- Sadly (and shockingly), this doesn't seem to be the case. The closest thing we got was the title of the show being referenced in the title of the 3rd DC Comics Special "Magical Friendship".
Confirmed! The Mad Scientist is an insane Show Producer
Recently though, he's produced so much stuff, some of which is alternative versions of things he's already produced, that he has to get a test audience to choose what stuff is good and what stuff is bad. Sadly, real people completely hated everything. The Mad Scientist decided that he would force people to watch his shows until they picked a good amount of shows to pitch to a network. He's found out after he kidnaps a child and he flees to the castle where he finds a rotting chicken corpse and turns it into a
Robot Chicken to basically pick the shows. Since the chicken can't talk, however, he really can't say anything positive or negative. Therefore, Robot Chicken will continue for a long time, especially since now the Mad Scientist is the one captured and the Chicken is subjecting him to his own programs.
Considering how other
Nicktoons were parodied in this show, this one seems kind of obvious.
Bitch Pudding used to be known as Banana Pudding.
This is why she dresses in yellow and white. However, she was berry bitchy to everyone, so they started calling her Bitch Pudding.
She revels in the new monicker Bitch Pudding has a brother...well, a sister now.
Bitch Pudding was raised with a transexual brother named Plum Pudding. Their parents (Hasty and Tapioca) weren't berry accepting of a
M2F trans child, causing much strife in the family. Even though the attention Plum was getting was negative, Little Banana Pudding still felt ignored and
acted out in order to get attention. Plum has since gotten the sexual reassignment surgery she always wanted and lives happily in Strawberryland, but her sister is stuck in the habit of being a bitch.
It's the top cartoon on Disney right now.

The scientist is turning the chicken into a weapon.
The real reason the scientist is forcing the chicken to watch all those skits? He wants to make the chicken smart on all those fictional worlds so that he can turn him into a weapon that already knows all about the worlds, and therefore knows how to destroy them easily.
The final episode of Season 9 will involve the Mad Scientist from the first few seasons freeing the chicken
Last time we saw him, he and the Chicken seemed to be enemies no more after they helped each other battle the Mad Sceintists son. With the Chicken now revived after being apparently frozen, its possible the Mad Scientist was as well and will be thawed out at the end of Season 9 in order to save the Chicken from his descendant.

Robot Chicken is a way for Seth Green to bring back TV sitcoms and cartoons he enjoyed as a kid back in the 1980s. Sure the characters get ridiculed and poked fun of in the skits, but Seth HAS to do this to avoid copyright from their owners (look up parody and fare use).

A possible idea for a sketch is a
Deadpool 2 ending parody where Chloe Carmichael goes back in time and gets rid of Sparky to "clean up the timeline".
Season 5 was partially responsible for the chicken's freakout in the season finale.
I'll confess. Outside of the Bitch Pudding special, I haven't seen any
Robot Chicken past the end of season 4. But I have heard plenty about the show from both my uncle who still watches it, and through reading about it online, mostly by way of the
Dethroning Moment of Suck page and the reactions to the several season 5 sketches within. I also know that in the season 5 finale, the mad scientist kidnapped the chicken's wife and the chicken broke free of his restraints to rescue his wife from the scientist. My theory from these peripheral facts is, what if the chicken reacted to the needlessly gruesome and mean-spirited sketches that comprised season 5 in the same manner much of the viewership who are willing to talk about it did (since the framing device is that he's being forced to watch much of the skits), and that he was already on the verge of raging out by the end of it, and the scientist kidnapping his wife was the straw that broke the camel's - or in this case, chicken's - back?
The series takes place in the same universe as
The Dreamstone, and all the sketches are just the copyrighted characters being parodied having nightmares that Zordrak sent them while they slept.
Would explain everything. Zordrak
finally stole the Dreamstone and is sending nightmares to various dimensions other than the human world
For the Evulz. The mad scientist is
trying to stop Zordrak and get the Dreamstone back, so he reanimated the chicken to serve as a sort of watchdog. The mad scientist leaves the chicken in charge of trying to check if the nightmares get out of control while he goes off to a secret location with Rufus and Amberley where they plan furiously to save
the vast omniverse and every multiverse contained within it.
All the sketches are just nightmares the copyrighted characters being parodied are having.
The Mad Scientist is a
Reality Warper who is studying the dreams of people from other dimensions, and he created the chicken to serve as a watch dog.

In the opening sketch, Palpatine is revealed to have changed the zoning laws on Naboo so that any Gungan eggs found would no longer be protected, but instead would be donated to a hot lunch program. Jar-Jar is among those who had listened to Palpatine's proposition. Maybe some of those Gungan eggs were his.

A possible idea for a sketch could have Kion and his friends attempt to save the Pride Lands from Janja and his clan of hyenas (or so they think), only to be confronted by a group of environmentalists who want to protect the hyenas. Said environmentalists call the Lion Guard out for the many times they've trespassed in the outlands to stop the hyenas from hunting in their own turf, saving an okapi who was the rightful prey of a leopard who chased him from his own territory, and stopping predators who live in the Pride Lands, like Ushari and Makuu. When Bunga tries to protest, he gets killed and/or eaten by a hyena. This sketch could use the official Lion Guard figures by Just Play.
A possible idea for a sketch could be a Behind the Music-style documentary on the Jukebox Band, similar to the one done for Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. This sketch could reveal what happened to the Jukebox Band after Shining Time Station ended; the band could likely go their separate ways and get new jobs after Schemer got rid of their jukebox. Tito would likely become a banker, given his Money Fetish (he could even swim in it a la Scrooge McDuck), Didi would likely become a hairdresser, given her hairdo, Tex and Rex would likely become employees at a fast-food restaurant, given that they're both dressed like cowboys, and Grace would probably partake in equal rights rallies, given both her race and gender. This sketch could use the bendy figures of the Jukebox Band, Stacy Jones, Schemer, and Mr. Conductor by Just Toys.

(Once it comes out to the West in 2024 first, that is.) Bobby is chasing Jennifer with his trademark giant scissors, but, after running slower and slower, he eventually drops them onto the floor as he wheezes and complains that his back and arms are "f*cking killing [him]". So, he gets a new idea, and instead begins manically running after Jennifer with normal-sized scissors instead, one in each hand—alas, while he
is much more mobile now, he winds up tripping and impaling his own face with said scissors, killing himself. Jennifer looks at the pitiful scene, turns to camera, and just shrugs while saying something along the lines of "Well, sh*t." before just calmly walking away.
It could the parody the magical girl shows. It will have Kai-Lan, Tolee, Rintoo, Hoho and Lulu who fights demons and succeeded. The ending would have the pals wake up in their dreams only to realize that their magical devices were real and they decide to store it in the toy box as if nothing has happened.
