The Crucible will be how the Slayer will defeat Salem
- As anyone who plays DOOM Eternal knows, the Doom Slayer was able to use the Crucible to put an immortal monster, the Icon of Sin, into a state of death and has done so to another similar creature in the past. Salem herself is a "being of unlimited life", so the Slayer can likely use the Crucible to defeat her. In other words, the DOOM universe may possess the perfect means of putting the mistress of the Grimm down.
- True, but The Icon is only in his state of death so long as the Crucible remains impaled in his brain. If killing Salem with it means he has to leave it impaled in her, then he'd also leave himself deprived of a weapon to kill the Icon if it ever comes to that point.
- Don't forget, however, that the Slayer understood this problem in Doom Eternal; the Crucible was already embedded in a giant monster's body to keep it dead, so the Slayer simply broke the blade and reforged a new one with Argent energy. So if the Slayer needs to use the Crucible to kill both Salem and the Icon, he can just use the method of reforging to rearm the weapon if the need arises.
