Halt poisoned the Temujai Shashan
- We know that the Shashan when Halt was with them was poisoned by a dish of bad seafood. Halt, as a young man, was poisoned by Ferris with a dish of seafood, who fortunately got the amounts wrong. My theory is that Halt slipped into the kitchens and took a leaf from his brother's book. It would be a neat ironic reversal and definitely matching his sense of humour. Plus, if Halt knew he was going to be running away with a herd of, ahem, "fairly bought" horses, he would want something to sow confusion, delay pursuit, and stop the upcoming invasion.
