You're a Grifter and Kyu is your criminal Obi-Wan.
You approach single ladies, take them out for a good time and receive money for it. Sex is completely up to them: You get paid the same, regardless. You keep them in pocket with your bed skills and the occasional "thoughtful" gift. Kyu appears to you to show you the ropes and even challenges you to step your game up by testing your skills directly.

Kyu isn't a Love Fairy: She's a pimp!

Jessie and Tiffany are the mother and daughter from Metallica's "Turn The Page" video.
They're estranged because Tiffany saw what her mom went through when she was younger and cut ties when she stayed in the game.

The player character is suffering from steadily worsening schizophrenia
Think about it like this, one of the primary symptoms of Schizoid disorders is closely held delusions and vivid hallucinations. No person would think themselves sane is a a being calling itself a fairy materialised in your room, but the MC barely questions it and goes along with it.

Delusion 1: Kyu is not real, but a repressed facet of the MC's personality which has gained autonomy. Namely the kind governing sexuality and the like. This is consistent with schizophrenia in that another one of the primary symptoms is scattered and disorganised thinking, what better way for the MC's addled mind to bring an issue to his attention by throwing a name with a face?

Delusion 2: The gifts do not materialise in the MC's possession after looking at a phone of some sort, but rather it's his mind attempting to save memory space (and thus, stability) by creating a shorthand version of going and buying it from the required vendor, but instead having a nebulous force subtract some money, and the desired item appearing in his hands as if by magic. A similar system is in place for him seemingly teleporting from place to place, it's just his messy mind trying to keep it together.

Delusion 3: The limited dialogue options is a reflection if alogia, or the disinterest and difficulty in communicating effectively. This also explains why the MC says so little in general.

Delusion 4: Another common symptom in schizophrenics is the disinterest in relationships, and seeing as how the pre-intervention MC is nothing if not this before his mind fractured sufficiently for detailed delusions to start, this seems like another pointer towards severe mental illness.

Delusion 5: The "upgrade" system which gives more points for a different token is in fact a reflection of the lopsided personality and inconsistent thinking that is typical among schizophrenics, on that it is entirely possible to be proficient in one, but neglect another.

Delusion 6: The appearance of the more odd of the female cast (Celeste, Momo and Venus) is a delusion based on the MC's internal desires for different things in women. The alien girl representing the desire for uniqueness and a touch of exoticness, Momo representing kindness, and perhaps subservience. And Venus is a rationalisation of what's left of his sanity for the majority of his personality going on a single Issue Wonk about relationships and the like.

The final delusion: Another symptom that matches is the inability to experience pleasure, and nowhere is this more evident than in the H-scenes. The MC feels nothing from the sex, it's just a task to complete, a puzzle to solve. The sliding pieces around representing the "manoeuvres" required to satisfy one's partner. The picture at the end of it is just him mentally patting himself on the back for a job well done.

In conclusion, the MC is severely mentally ill, and gets worse over the course of the game. He lives alone, so no housemate to catch the anomalous behaviour. The girls he gets with don't question it, he just comes across as a nice, albeit eccentric guy. The provocative pictures he receives from them aren't real, but his mind failing to confine his fantasies from mixing with reality. And lastly, one common complaint from schizophrenics is that it feels as if someone else is in their head, controlling their thoughts which (in a way) is precisely what's happened here, albeit with a fragment of his own mind which has gained autonomy.

The protagonist is quantifiably insane, and he doesn't even know it.

Alternatively, the PC is a mild version of a psychopath.
Let's review here: The PC right off the bat doesn't seem to actually give a single shit about any of the women he's with, appearing to happily cheat on them with multiple other people and showing no remorse or guilt the entire time. He can easily mold his personality to fit the girl he's currently with and has little to no issue lying to them about his personality or past life.

"Munie" and "Hunie" represent Kyu's MP.
You use Munie to buy food, drink and gifts (which replicate even after being used, and appear instantly), and Hunie to make alterations to yourself, which grant you skills sufficient to seduce even a goddess. It makes sense that the abilities to do these are sourced from the first magical creature you meet. However, Kyu can't do it without limit, so it makes sense that there's some system to track her energy. Additionally, she is rule-bound to some limits on her power.

Kyu (and love fairies in general, by extension) are friendly Emotion Eaters.
Notice that Kyu becomes more enthusiastic the more progress you make, and even becomes sexually available after you've proven yourself with a woman. Additionally, the more successful you are when talking to women (gaining Hunie) or on a date (gaining Munie, as represented by getting more when you have more moves and sentiment left), the more available perks you get (see the above about these being Kyu's energy); and the happier the girls are, the more you can get. This creates a positive feedback loop that renders the Player character a wellspring of love energies. As to why Kyu chose to follow the Player, it's possible that she gains more benefit from it (higher to rise, and all that), then she would from someone who is already a Lothario.

Tiffany will be a secret unlockable character for Studio.
The game is being advertised as having 20 unlockable girls, which gives us room for all the girls in past games. Plus, convincing her to work in the studio with her mother could provide a miniature plot point of them reconciling their differences.
  • Jossed: She's one of the three "starter" girls (along with Nikki and Kyanna).

Kyu Mindwipes Bad Dates from the girl's minds
  • Otherwise it would be that much harder to keep getting them to go out with you.

Kyu collects V-cards to use as confetti for graduation ceremonies at her school.
  • When she meets the player, she’s short on her quota and doesn’t have a lot of time to catch up. So she seeks out a dateless porn addict to bed as many girls as he can find, without letting him take a break from dating.

  • She refuses to tell you why she’s helping you seduce the women in your town, stresses out when she finishes teaching you how to date girls, and gives you a gear from Celeste’s ship to bait yet another suitor onto your roster. After you’ve bedded all the human suitors, Kyu’s boss comes to confirm that the V-cards collected are genuine.

Beli's height is an accident.
  • If anyone played or seen the game pre-update, Beli has always said she's "one inch shy of six feet," yet when she asked the player what her height is, the correct response was 5'9". The was eventually corrected to 5'11", but I don't think that was the intention. A big reason is her concerns about being overweight. On a height/weight chart, 5'11" and 132 lbs. is considered underweight. However, 5'9" and 132 lbs. is slightly overweight. I think whoever came up with the "one inch shy" line was trying to write something different (as opposed to the girl just saying her height), but thought there were 10 inches in a foot instead of 12. I also think they either couldn't afford or couldn't schedule Amber Lee Connors to record a new line, so they were forced to change Beli's height.
