Why are these guys battling again?
  • John Lennon vs. Bill O'Reilly: John's taken offense to something Bill said about the Vietnam War. He elects to show this using the area of his expertise.
  • Adolf Hitler vs. Darth Vader, Round 1:
    • Hitler, through some fluke, has taken over Coruscant. Darth Vader is sent to reclaim Coruscant for the Empire. Then it gets weird.
    • Or since Vader was a former slave/Hitler bears similarities to Palpatine, Hitler's going down.
    • Vader, being disabled and played by a black actor, is disgusted with the bigoted policies of the Nazis. He challenges Hitler to a battle to prove that an "inferior" human can oppress and conquer just as well as any other.
    • Hitler wants to learn the powers of the Dark Side of the Force, so he tries to persuade the Emperor to kill Vader and take him on as an apprentice. The Emperor agrees on the condition that Hitler beats Vader in a battle. In secret, Palpatine has already brushed Hitler off as unworthy and planned with Vader to keep Hitler distracted with the battle while they prepare to freeze him in carbonite.
  • Abraham Lincoln vs. Chuck Norris: Lincoln discovers the internet! At first, he is fascinated, but then a certain something drives him to go to Chuck Norris's cosmic plane and rip into him.
    • Alternatively, Lincoln stumbles across "facts" memes for people like Mr. T, Clint Eastwood, and Morgan Freeman. He becomes fascinated and decides to try taking a shot at making up facts about himself. Unfortunately he's not very good at it so Chuck Norris takes it upon himself to show him the ropes.
    • Alternatively, Lincoln wanted to express his distaste with how the Republican Party has changed since his time, and sent out a challenge to all prominent modern-day Republicans to battle him to prove whose ideals are superior. Chuck was the only one tough enough to be willing to face Lincoln on the rap battlefield.
  • Sarah Palin vs. Lady Gaga: Palin, an established conservative, meets Lady Gaga, a supporter of homosexual rights, at a cocktail party. Insult-slinging ensues.
  • Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage vs. Kim Jong-Il: The President has been kidnapped by communists! Are Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage bad enough dudes to shame Kim Jong-Il into releasing him?
  • Justin Bieber vs. Ludwig van Beethoven: Justin Bieber's tired of being the Internet's Butt-Monkey! Maybe if he challenged Beethoven to a rap battle, he could gain some respect? No, not really.
    • Or Beethoven listened to Bieber's music, and hated it so much that he interrupted Bieber's rehearsal to challenge him to a rap battle.
  • Albert Einstein vs. Stephen Hawking:
    • Einstein hates cripples.
    • They're both good friends-they just had to shut the raging debating scientists up with a rap battle.
    • Einstein is worried that Hawking's discoveries will diminish his place in history.
  • The Easter Bunny vs. Genghis Khan: The Easter Bunny places eggs underneath Genghis Khan's pillow, giving him a hard night's sleep. Khan catches him and curses him out, and the Easter Bunny responds in kind.
  • Napoleon vs. Napoleon:
    • Bonaparte watches Napoleon Dynamite. He is so disgusted that he forgets he's not actually French and short, and tears a hole in reality just so he can lay into Mr. Dynamite himself. He gives his opponent the first verse, because he's cocky like that.
    • Dynamite was bragging about how much he knew about history, and his classmates weren't buying it. To prove it, he tells them he'll enter into an ERB against a random opponent, and he guarantees he'll know enough about them to win. The ERB crew, unable to come up with something more creative, match him up against his namesake, but Dynamite actually didn't know very much about him and so just came up with a bunch of short jokes. However, Bonaparte doesn't think Dynamite is a Worthy Opponent and so is also doing a half-assed job, not caring enough to bring up most of his own accomplishments. Thus, Dynamite still maintains that he won afterwards.
  • Billy Mays & Vince Offer vs. Benjamin Franklin: Benjamin finds Billy's voice to be a tremendous pain in his ears. Unfortunately, Billy's already scheduled to face down Vince, but that's okay, he can always make room for a Founding Father.
  • Gandalf vs. Dumbledore:
    • The two old wizards decide to give the nerds a fight, just to get them to stop bitching and moaning. They're very good friends: Gandalf's comments about Gringotts are more vulgar jokes to somebody he knows can take it than actual attacks on Dumbledore's character.
    • Gandalf is sick of his franchise being compared to Harry Potter. His irritation with the comparisons starts to turn into a dislike of the books themselves, and he especially hates Dumbledore, the character he is most often compared to.
    • Gandalf doesn't think ordinary human children should be trusted with powerful magic. He tries to persuade Dumbledore to shut down Hogwarts, but when it becomes clear that neither of the two are willing to budge, the dispute degenerates into a contest of insults.
  • William Shakespeare vs. Dr. Seuss: Shakespeare stumbles upon Dr. Seuss bringing drawings to life and mistakes him for the old witches of lore. He opts to ward him off using his version of an anti-magic charm.
  • Mr. T vs. Mr. Rogers:
  • Christopher Columbus vs. Captain Kirk: The Enterprise gets tossed back in time to the era of colonization. Kirk takes this opportunity to voice his displeasure towards the Indian-dooming Columbus.
  • Nice Peter vs. Epic Lloyd:
    • Nothing out of the ordinary, it's just how the two settle creative differences.
      • Peter mentions a similar theory as a joke in the behind-the-scenes of Gandalf vs. Dumbledore.
    • The in-universe reason is the same as the out-of-universe reason: they thought it would be funny to end the first season by staging a battle between the two of them.
  • Adolf Hitler vs. Darth Vader, Round 2: This was already given a story.
  • Leonidas vs. Master Chief: Master Chief challenges Leonidas to show him some of that laconic wit his people are known for.
  • The Mario Bros. vs. The Wright Bros.: The Mario Bros. have gotten themselves into more time-traveling shenanigans! To get a certain MacGuffin, they have to beat the Wright Bros. in a contest of wit.
  • Michael Jackson vs. Elvis Presley:
    • As the fabric of time unfurls and unwinds, Jackson and Presley take this opportunity to see which one of them is the better wordsmith before everything really goes to crap.
    • They had an argument about black culture, and mostly stuff about Elvis's daughter, so they did a rap battle to see who won.
    • As there is only one crown they're fighting to see who is the "One King" of music.
  • Cleopatra vs. Marilyn Monroe: The grandest beauty contest of all time is held! Only Cleopatra and Marilyn are left, and there's only one way to settle this score...
  • Steve Jobs vs. Bill Gates:
    • Bill coaxes one last competition out of Steve before he ascends. Unbeknownst to him, somebody is watching the two duke it out...
    • Steve jumps in before the announcer can name Bill's opponent. HAL-9000 is Bill's official opponent, and Steve just wanted one last battle with his rival before he turns a profit in heaven.
  • Frank Sinatra vs. Freddie Mercury:
  • Barack Obama vs. Mitt Romney: The debate system has gone through a massive upheaval.
  • Doctor Emmett Brown vs. The Doctor:
    • Let's You and Him Fight scenario, with Brown being "loaned" a Dalek to even the odds. The Doctor realizes Doc Brown isn't a bad guy due to his immediate defense of Marty and ends the battle before it begins.
    • The Doctor is tired of companions comparing him and his time travel to Back to the Future.
    • Doc Brown accidentally crashed into the TARDIS as it rematerialized, causing the unfurling of space time suggested in Michael Jackson vs. Elvis Presley above. Naturally, the Doctor takes out his frustration over this irreparable damage. When it loops again, he realizes his mistakes and enlists Brown's help in fixing the TARDIS.
  • Bruce Lee vs. Clint Eastwood: The two have teamed up to eliminate a bunch of shape-shifting troublemakers, but it's so damned easy that they've taken to arguing about who's more badass and whose movies are better between and during ass-kickings.
  • Batman vs. Sherlock Holmes: All-Star Batman, being the extremely loose cannon he is attacks the detectives for no reason. Robin is dropping in from an Alternate Universe and has no idea what's going on.
  • Moses vs. Santa Claus: Moses believes Santa Claus is pushing people further from God, thanks to the creeping secularization of what was supposed to be Jesus's birthday. Santa first tries to reason with him that he isn't trying to make people forget about Jesus's birthday but spread cheer. As it's clear Moses won't budge, Santa makes fun of him in response, taking the time to teach him some manners in the meanwhile.
  • Adam vs. Eve: The first ever married couple bickering.
  • Gandhi vs. Martin Luther King Jr.:
    • They're playing a friendly game of the Dozens.
    • Gandhi does not like black people and is annoyed that his ideas are associated with a movement for racial equality.
  • Thomas Edison vs. Nikola Tesla: They're doing a rap battle to finally see who wins, because they really, really, hate each other.
  • Babe Ruth vs. Lance Armstrong: The ghost of Babe Ruth shows up to mock Lance Armstrong for his foul play. Armstrong, who doesn't want to deal with this right now, decides to fire back at Ruth and hopefully get him to go somewhere else.
  • Mozart vs. Skrillex: After getting on Santa's naughty list for being too loud, Mozart sets out to find someone who makes him look downright meek by comparison. Before long, he finds Skrillex, and needles him with verbal barbs until he explodes at him.
  • Rasputin vs. Stalin:
    • Rasputin magically rises from the grave to berate Stalin for being a murderous dictator. However, the reality-warping nature of his spell has some unintended side-effects.
    • Lenin drops in to berate Stalin for betraying the revolution. Gorbachev tries to break the tension. Putin just wants to brag.
    • Alternately, the "Proletariat Masses" get hold of a book of spells owned by Rasputin and decide to use it to try and summon Lenin's ghost, but they accidentally bring back Rasputin and Stalin so they decide to have some fun by putting them in a rap battle. Unknown to either of the contestants, the Proletariat manage to finally get the spell right and bring back Lenin. Lenin then listens to them rap and gets angry after hearing what Rasputin has to say about Stalin (the nature of which Stalin himself openly confesses to), and joins in. However, something goes wrong with the spell and the group gets accidentally transported into the future. Gorbachev gets word of the battle and tries to resolve the situation before things get out of hand by showing how he improved things. Putin accidentally stumbles across the battle in progress and decides he wants in.
  • Adolf Hitler vs. Darth Vader, Round 3: Like the second round, this was already given a story, shown starting from the third season's trailer and continued in the actual episode.
  • Al Capone vs. Blackbeard:
    • Blackbeard constantly makes fun of Capone for getting caught by a minor crime, instead of going out in a blaze of glory like he did. Capone bets he couldn't out-insult him, since he just rags on him for the same thing over and over again. Blackbeard takes the challenge.
    • Alternatively, the rap battle is just a distraction for Blackbeard's crew to steal all of Capone's goods. Which backfires once the gangsters bring in Edward Kenway for revenge.
  • Miley Cyrus vs. Joan of Arc:
    • Joan comes across a video of Miley's performance at the VMAs. Disgusted, she time travels to confront Miley in person. Miley has a good idea of what she wants to do and so gets the first verse.
    • Similar to the entry for Babe Ruth vs. Lance Armstrong, Joan's ghost visits Miley in a dream to try and persuade her to a more pious lifestyle, but Miley is sick of all the people ragging on her and decides to battle her.
  • Bob Ross vs. Pablo Picasso: Somebody offers a bet that no-one could get Bob to raise his voice. Picasso eagerly rises to the challenge.
  • Michael Jordan vs Muhammad Ali: The two have a beef to settle, but they can't play any of their sports of choice to finish things. To compromise, they go at each other verbally.
  • Ebenezer Scrooge vs Donald Trump: This already has an explanation. A Christmas Carol but it's Trump.
  • Rick Grimes vs Walter White: The zombie apocalypse hit before Walter White's death in the Breaking Bad chronology and Rick's group runs into him. Having heard of Walter's deeds to his family from his Albuquerque colleagues, the eternal family man Rick Grimes can't help but to lash out. Having his infinite pride insulted, Walt responds in turn.
  • Goku vs. Superman:
    • Superman's being more dickish than usual, so Goku makes a bet with him over a fight. If Goku wins, Superman stops being a dick, but if Superman wins, Goku can't eat anything but lettuce for the next month or so. They hype themselves up through the rap battle and start clashing for real at the end.
    • Goku is jealous because he has to work hard for his powers while Superman gets them just by going out in the Sun.
  • Edgar Allen Poe vs. Stephen King:
    • Poe is frustrated by the ending to one of King's works and starts badgering him about it.
    • Alternatively, King wanted to prove his work was greater, and travelled back in time to settle it, arriving at the time when Poe was writing The Raven. Poe, having very little time to prepare, begins by reciting a variation of what he has on hand.
  • Sir Issac Newton vs. Bill Nye: Newton gets set up with a mystery opponent, but is very disappointed when it turns out to be Nye. When he proves too much to handle, Tyson warps in from the Ship of the Imagination to help out. The mystery opponent was set up on request after he saw an Epic Rap Battle Of History.
  • George Washington vs. William Wallace: The difficulties of life have gotten to Washington and set him a bit off-kilter, compelling him to go to Scotland. He hallucinates William Wallace and attempts to put him down.
  • Artists vs. Turtles:
    • During a convoluted adventure that leads them to Florence, Italy, the Turtles are forced to summon the ghosts of several Renaissance artists to help them on their journey. The artists, irritated at being awoken from their slumber, start hurling insults at them first.
    • Alternatively, or perhaps just more specifically depending on your interpretation of the above, the Turtles were trying to explain that they needed the artists' help for an upcoming battle against a villain, but the artists got confused and thought they were supposed to be battling the Turtles themselves.
  • Ghostbusters vs. Mythbusters:
    • The Mythbusters bust some myths about movie ghosts. The Ghostbusters hijack their broadcast to air their grievances against them.
    • M5 is being haunted by the spirits of dead Busters and the Build Team. The Ghostbusters are trying to convince the skeptics that they have a problem and score some publicity at the same time.
  • Romeo and Juliet vs. Bonnie and Clyde: While on the run, Bonnie and Clyde come across two weirdos wearing Renaissance clothing who chastise them for their crimes. They're confused, but decide to make fun of the lovers using what they remember of Romeo and Juliet. Unfortunately for B&C, R&J distract them long enough for the police to catch up to them.
  • Zeus vs. Thor:
    • In an Alternate History where the Byzantine Empire continued to worship Greek/Roman gods, Thor intrudes into Zeus/Jupiter's territory with the arrival of the Varangian Guard. Zeus responds harshly to Thor's increasing influence.
    • It's an Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny between a pair of Lego fans.
    • It's all Loki's doing. With the release of The Avengers (2012) Loki decides to travel to Greece and let drop the fact that 'God of Thunder' is now more associated with Thor than Zeus. Zeus, jealous god that he is, immediately challenges Thor to a battle. If Thor wins, Loki can swoop in and take credit for weakening the Olympians (since he set it up) but if Thor loses, well, then he looks like an idiot and Loki's fine with that too.
    • Finn's older cousins stop by for Thanksgiving and decide to make an epic rap battle with his Lego blocks to impress him. The battle we see is what happens in Emmett's viewpoint.
  • Jack the Ripper vs. Hannibal Lecter:
    • There's a new guy in the cell across Hannibal's who says he's the genuine Ripper. Hannibal questions the validity of his claims, which provokes the new arrival into talking about his supposed crimes in verse. Reality is filtered through the new guy's eyes, which is why Jack seems to be wandering the dark streets of Whitechapel.
    • Jack the Ripper, being a bit touched in the head, is hallucinating the entire battle after staying up late one night reading Hannibal's books, trying to prove to himself he's better than Hannibal.
    • Over two centuries after his original killing spree, Jack is back (either due to a time-travel mishap, or Jack being a literally immortal monster), and killing victims in modern-day London, (and for some odd reason, engaging in Boastful Raps while doing so). Seeing as how this isn't the first time the authorities had to ask Dr. Lecter about how to find and catch other serial killers, they agree to temporarily release Hannibal from captivity to challenge the notoriously elusive Jack the Ripper in a rap battle. This is hinted at by Hannibal's intro (where he's wheeled up Bound and Gagged in a straitjacket and his signature muzzle by an asylum attendant, only to be released from the restraints while Jack is giving his first verse), and a couple of Hannibal's lines. In Lecter's first verse, he bemoans "Pity your verse wasn't worth the trip in the jacket", implying that he got out of prison just to challenge Jack to a rap battle, and his final lines of the second verse ("Barney, take me back to solitary confinement (complete with the asylum attendant coming back to wheel out Hannibal), 'cause this little dirty lamb has just been silenced.") implies that he was released just to defeat Jack in the Rap Battle.
  • Ellen DeGeneres vs Oprah Winfrey:
    • One of them is on the other's show and this is part of the format. Ellen brings out her kittens afterward.
    • The two talk show hosts are having a feud, and have decided to let their audiences decide who is better.
    • The rap battle takes place in TV Land. Oprah is literally the queen and Ellen is literally trying to depose her. The two raps are morale builders for their respective armies.
  • Stephen Spielberg vs Alfred Hitchcock:
    • Spielberg interrupts Hitchcock's filming of Psycho to shame him for not meeting with Spielberg when he asked. Hitchcock retaliates. Tarantino captures the battle because he thinks it's funny, but then decides they are both lame. Kubrick takes offense to any work except his being called genius, and traveled to the battle on a Big Wheel to dispute it. Similarly, Michael Bay can hear all of them dissing his work from afar, and enters via helicopter.
    • The whole battle is one big struggle for control over the production of a movie. Steven Spielberg and Alfred Hitchcock try to collaborate but quickly get into a fight over how it should be directed. Meanwhile Quentin Tarantino (who was producing) tries to break up the fight, calls both people out on it, then has them both fired so that he can direct the film himself. Stanley Kubrick's ghost takes this as an opportunity to get revenge on Spielberg for ruining his vision of A.I.: Artificial Intelligence. Finally, Michael Bay hears all the other directors making fun of his work and decides that he is going to direct the movie just to spite everyone.
    • The battle is about a movie about Spielberg and Hitchcock, produced by Kubrick and directed by Tarantino. Thus, the "Spielberg" and "Hitchcock" seen in the battle are actually actors. The exchange between "Spielberg" and "Hitchcock" is actually a scene being recorded. After a failed attempt at dialogue improv, Tarantino cuts the scene and tells them to fix their dialogue (hence the "I'm the king of dialogue") while giving them more material to work with. Afterwards, he seems to be satisfied with the end result and wraps up (hence him closing his car trunk). However, Kubrick came in late for some reason, and after looking at the scene, chides the three for not shooting it until it's perfectly the way he wants it to be. Finally, Bay just happens to be wandering around in his chopper, and after hearing all the insults, decides to literally drop in and brag while making a scene (hence him throwing the director's chair).
  • Lewis and Clark vs Bill and Ted: Bill and Ted travel back in time to Lewis and Clark's expedition to do research on a history project and end up getting them pissed enough to drop some sick burns.
  • David Copperfield vs Harry Houdini: Houdini finally escaped from the grave and he's doing a joint act with Copperfield. The antagonism is just part of the act. Copperfield was squeeing up a storm back stage at the prospect of performing with his hero.
  • Terminator vs Robocop:
    • Basically the DEATH BATTLE! version of Terminator vs Robocop but with a difference: instead of the evil Terminator, the good one came back. For giggles, John Connor decided to change both of their A.I.s to be kickass at rapping. They fight the modification by literally shooting at each other near the end.
    • John and Sarah Connor have escaped from the Terminator by heading into Detroit. When the Terminator attempts to follow them, Robocop is the first line of defense.
  • Western Philosophers vs Eastern Philosophers:
    • A typical set of shenanigans in Philosopher Heaven.
    • Confucius and Laozi got into an argument with Socrates and Voltaire bragging about how millions of people in the East today still follow their philosophies, whereas almost nobody follows the teachings of Socrates or Voltaire anymore. The two argued until the Western philosophers got pissed off enough to challenge them to a battle. Sun Tzu, who happened to overhear the whole thing, wanted to test whether his tactics could be applied to rap battles as well as to regular battles, so he offered to join Laozi and Confucius. Socrates and Voltaire agreed on the condition that they be allowed to pick a third rapper also, and Nietzsche reluctantly agreed to join them.
  • Shaka Zulu vs Julius Caesar:
    • The two conquerors have brought together their armies for a massive battle and are attempting to demoralize each other before the real fight begins.
    • Caesar and his legion rise from the dead in the 1800's and decide to recreate their "Roman Lake" by starting with Africa. His army runs into Zulu's and they get into an epic exchange of insults before clashing.
    • Caesar tried some diplomacy with Shaka to trade for aluminum, but Shaka angrily tells him he does not deserve it, so Caesar declares war.
    • While going through one of his crazier episodes, Shaka hallucinates that emperors of ages past are coming back from the dead to judge his rule, and they do not approve. Never one to take well to criticism, Shaka lashes out at the imagined Caesar with some harsh judgments of his own.
  • Jim Henson vs Stan Lee:
    • Jim and Stan had some unfinished business before Jim's untimely death. Feeling empty because of his frenemy's death, Stan decides to hold a seance on a boring summer day and summons Jim's ghost. He gets excited when it works and comes out swinging against Jim, but little does he know that another spirit has stepped out of the ether...
    • Stan and Jim were having a typical fight between co-workers in their office. The manager, Walt, came in after hearing the ruckus and told them to get back to work.
    • This is how Disney does their job interviews. They make the two artists pull off a rap battle, and whoever wins gets to work at the company. Unfortunately, Stan and Jim decided to be bros again. Walt, frustrated at how the interview was going nowhere and in his infamous "perfectionist" phase, completely lost it and proceeded to blow his top, reminding them that they were wasting his time, as there were several thousand other incredibly expensive artists waiting outside for their turn. Eventually, though, seeing how the duo were now too scared to say anything else, he hired both of them, although the two were beginning to have second thoughts upon seeing the huge amounts of work the other artists were doing.
  • Deadpool vs Boba Fett: Deadpool is jealous that the Star Wars series has been getting so much attention lately, so he picks a fight with Boba Fett to drum up publicity for his own movie, which comes out early next year.
  • George R.R. Martin vs. J.R.R. Tolkien:
    • A who would win fantasy game went a bit over the top.
    • Tolkien's published views on what makes a fantasy story good are completely at odds with Martin's writing style. Challenged by Martin's success, Tolkien feels the need to back up his views and prove that he is the superior fantasy author.
  • Gordon Ramsay vs. Julia Child:
    • A Cooking Duel taken to the extreme.
    • Ramsay is scheduled for a new joint cooking show with Julia Child, but his schedule is so cramped that he is even more angry than usual and immediately fires off on her cooking skills.
  • Thomas Jefferson vs. Frederick Douglass:
    • Douglass found out about Jefferson's history as a slave owner and went to Washington DC to confront him about it. This is also set in the universe of Hamilton.
    • Douglass is annoyed with the quasi-deification that the slave-owning Founding Fathers get in the American media and politics. He convinces Jefferson, who shares his feelings, to help him stage a battle to remind people that even the greatest leaders are still human.
  • James Bond vs. Austin Powers:
    • Bond watches the Austin Powers films and finds them dreadfully unfunny. He challenges Powers to a battle to show off what a superior spy he is, but the original Bond gets word of this and is pissed off that they would use Craig's version to represent his franchise instead of the original, so he decides to show up to the battle and make his opinions known.
    • With all the Hell Bond's been through in his recent movies, he's become a little sensitive to being mocked. The very existence of the Austin Powers movies offends him as a result.
  • Bruce Banner/The Hulk vs. Caitlyn Jenner: Caitlyn came to Bruce to ask him for help with her gender affirming surgery, not knowing that Bruce only deals with Hulk-based transformations.
  • Alexander the Great vs. Ivan the Terrible: Ivan invented the time machine to try to erase what he did to his son but... well, bad habits are hard to break and besides killing assholes is fun, so he went on a killing spree throughout time and space.
    • Just another run of Civilization, not unlike Shaka Zulu vs. Julius Caesar above.
  • Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump: See Obama vs. Romney's entry above.
  • Ash Ketchum vs. Charles Darwin:
    • Instead of Alola, Ash landed on the Galapagos Islands. Ash tries to get a Pokemon from Darwin. Pissed off at him, he tells him off.
    • Darwin gives a lecture attempting to clear up common misconceptions about evolution, in which he repeatedly blames Pokémon for the origin of the ideas he's debunking. Ash is in the audience and challenges him to a battle in response.
  • Wonder Woman vs. Stevie Wonder: Diana decides to go to one of Stevie's concerts. Intrigued by him, she decides to have a conversation with him afterwards. They have an argument about who is a bigger inspiration that escalates.
  • Tony Hawk vs. Wayne Gretzky: Wayne thinks hockey deserves the title of "extreme sport" more than skateboarding does. He has an argument with Tony about it which ends up getting personal.
  • Theodore Roosevelt vs. Winston Churchill: Churchill and Teddy Roosevelt visit Mount Rushmore at the same time. Churchill makes a quip to a bystander about how the men who created America, the man who saved America and "a fourth guy whom nobody even knows what he did" got their face on a mountain but the British PM who saved the entire world didn't. Teddy overhears him, gets offended and decides to try and knock him down a peg.
  • Nice Peter vs. Epic Lloyd 2: This already has a story.
  • Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg: Elon and Mark were having a discussion about the future of technology, when Mark derided one of Elon's new product ideas as ridiculous. Elon got offended and started firing off at Mark.
  • Wolverine vs. Freddy Krueger: Freddy got tired of picking off dumb teenagers and decided to go for a more challenging target. Wolverine figures out what's going on and Freddy starts trying to break his confidence with disses while attacking him.
  • Che Guevara vs. Guy Fawkes: This battle takes place in the universe of No Exit. When Che Guevara, a radical extremist who persecuted Catholics, dies, he goes to Hell and is assigned as a roommate to Guy Fawkes, a radical extremist who fought for the Catholics. Unsurprisingly, a fight breaks out quickly.
  • Ronald McDonald vs. The Burger King: Since the three companies have been feuding for decades, it was inevitable that one of them would challenge the other to a battle eventually.
  • George Carlin vs. Richard Pryor: George, Richard, Joan, and Robin decided to write a routine together. They decided it would be funny to have an on-stage rap battle against each other. The antagonism is all part of the show. They told Cosby he was also invited as a prank, but made sure he wouldn't get the opportunity to actually rap and just used the opportunity to publicly humiliate him since they really do hate him.
  • Jacques Cousteau vs. Steve Irwin: Cousteau is disappointed that after his death, he was succeeded as the global face of the conservation movement by somebody with no scientific credentials. He takes the time to let Steve know.
  • Sigmund Freud vs. Mother Teresa: The two were arguing about religion, then things got out of hand.
  • Vlad the Impaler vs. Count Dracula: Vlad's annoyed that people nowadays mostly only know him as Dracula's inspiration, and he takes out his anger on the Count.
  • The Joker vs. Pennywise:
    • Joker's heard that Pennywise might be relocating to Gotham, and he is not happy at the thought of having another clown-themed villain on his turf.
    • Pennywise has recently come back to Derry to feast on children. However, the Joker's been using the state fair as a ploy to murder people as well. Eventually, the two serial killers come to a head.
  • Thanos vs. J. Robert Oppenheimer: One day, Thanos was having doubts about whether the Snap was really justified and feeling the temptation to undo it, when he recalled having heard of a Terran chemist who had similar misgivings after another project that involved disintegrating massive numbers of innocent people for the claimed greater good. He decided to summon Oppenheimer's ghost, expecting to be reassured by someone who would understand his burden, but instead Oppenheimer thought his plan was nonsensical and accused him of trying to rationalize the death of half the Universe as a necessity when it was really what he wanted all along. Thanos was so outraged that he immediately doubled down on insisting he had no choice and began firing off at Oppenheimer.
  • Donald Trump vs. Joe Biden: See Obama vs. Romney's entry above.
  • Luke Skywalker vs. Harry Potter: Harry hears about how Luke abandoned the galaxy in the sequels following the rise of the First Order. Harry's own experience with authority figures neglecting their duties has made him sensitive to this sort of thing, enough so that he takes the time to find Luke and chew him out in person.
  • Ragnar Lodbrok vs. Richard the Lionheart: Richard tries to conquer one of Ragnar's territories. As in Shaka Zulu vs. Julius Caesar above, the two come together for a battle, but try to demoralize each other with a contest of disses first.
  • Jeff Bezos vs. Mansa Musa: The two were arguing about who should be considered the richest person to have ever lived. Eventually Musa got pissed enough to start dropping burns, and Bezos responded in kind.
  • John Wick vs. John Rambo vs. John McClane: Wick's come out of retirement for one last job in America, and McClane is tasked with stopping him. Rambo happens to witness the confrontation between the two and, reminded of his own negative experiences with both cops and gangsters, tries to join in the fight. Unsure how to take on both Wick and Rambo at the same time, McClane tries to distract the others using his trademark one-liners while he comes up with a plan. Wick and Rambo eagerly fire back with taunts of their own.
  • Indiana Jones vs. Lara Croft: Right after uncovering an ancient mystical artifact, Indy runs into Lara and discovers that she's also been searching for the same item. They decide there's only one way to settle who should get to bring it back with them.

    Trump vs Biden battle

The battle will feature the other 2020 Democratic candidates:
With Biden likely to be (fairly or not) portrayed as a Scatterbrained Senior, the other 2020 Democratic candidates will appear, either to back Biden up or turn the battle into a royale:
  • Bernie Sanders
  • Elizabeth Warren
  • Pete Buttigieg
  • Amy Klobuchar
  • Michael Bloomberg
  • Tulsi Gabbard

  • Jossed. Only Trump and Biden appear.

Kamala Harris and Mike Pence will appear and back Biden and Trump up respectively
  • Jossed. Only Trump and Biden appear.

Should Lincoln appear, he will slap both Biden and Trump
Possibly even slapping Biden twice and Trump once to make up for the last battle and cement Biden as the Butt-Monkey.
  • Jossed. Only Trump and Biden appear.

Trump will mock the deaths of Biden's first wife, daughter and/or son in a Kick the Dog moment
  • Confirmed with Turmp's "crash and burn" line.

Joe Biden will initially start off weak, but either midway through his first verse or in his second, would take a level in badass
  • Jossed. He starts and stays strong.

Washington will appear in the battle to tag team with Lincoln
  • Jossed. Only Trump and Biden appear.

Barack Obama will appear in Lincoln's place
  • Jossed. Only Trump and Biden appear.

Trump vs Biden will be the first battle to come out after Thanos vs Oppenheimer
  • Confirmed.

There WON'T be a 2020 election
With the backlash the previous election battle received, Peter and Lloyd might prefer to play it safe.
  • Jossed; Peter and Lloyd said Trump be Biden WILL happen.

Dan Bull will guest star in the series at some point.
Dan Bull is easily one of the most acclaimed Youtube rappers ever. It would be insane not to cast him as Darwin, Churchill, or someone else who just so happens to be ridiculously British. John Bull!

Season 2 will feature some sort of plot.
We've already seen that Hawking is some sort of Dragon to Vader. As the series continues, more connections will be made. Oh, and FYI? Hitler totally survived the Rancor.
  • Jossed, though some of the battles themselves have a plot of some sort.

The Rancor Pit had Vader's homeboy from Israel instead of an actual Rancor.
Furthermore, Vader was always planning to send Hitler to the Rancor pit. He just wanted to have some fun first.

Hitler will survive the Rancor pit, only to be subjected to worse and worse punishment every season.
Because why not, it's Hitler.
  • Possibly confirmed. The crew alluded to the possibility of Hitler re-appearing for a match in Season 3.
  • The trailer for season 3 seemed to imply that they would more or less pick up where they left off after the re-match, i.e. with Hitler in the Rancor Pit, just as the door is opening... but we'll have to wait until the video to find out what's on the other side.
  • Confirmed. Hitler gets chopped in half at the end, but hey, if Darth Maul survived it...
    • The Season 4 trailer confirms he was Killed Off for Real. However, he comes back as a ghost and is then trapped by the Ghostbusters, so this theory may still hold.
  • From the way they've been done so far, one might get the impression they're going to work their way through the entire plot of Return of the Jedi. The last season began with a loose recreation of the scene of Han's awakening from that film followed by dropping Hitler into the rancor pit; Season 3 has Hitler nearly being thrown into the Sarlacc Pit with the lead-in to the fight scene from the film recreated very closely (except with the main cast replaced by previous rappers and a CGI'd monstrosity in place of the Sarlacc). This would suggest that Season 4 will either take place on Dagobah, Endor, or the Second Death Star, each time starting by re-enacting the lead-in to a notable scene from the movie.

Beethoven will return
  • If the early bird cameos are anything to go by, Beethoven was seen with along with Master Chief and the Mario Brothers. Plus, he needs better competition.

The Announcer is a shapeshifter.
In the first ERB News, he was portrayed as a llama. In the latest, he was a bear.
  • In the one where Teddy Roosevelt hosted, he was a hippotamus, And now, when Issac Newton was hosting, he's a giraffe.

The Season 2 Trailer implies:
  • There will be a Russian character, as per request by Vladimir Putin. Possibly Vladimir Putin himself.
    • Confirmed: The finale is Rasputin vs. Stalin. Lenin, Gorbachev, and Putin himself show up too.
  • The Mario Brothers will show up, with NicePeter as Luigi and EpicLloyd as Mario.
    • Confirmed, and they battled the Wright Brothers.
  • Socrates will show up.
    • Jossed for Season 2.
      • Although he did appear later in Season 4, teaming up with Nietzsche and Voltaire.
  • Beethoven will return, played by NicePeter, for a better match, instead of his Curb-Stomp Battle against Justin Bieber.
    • Jossed for Season 2.
  • So will Ben Franklin, who also commented on the second season.
    • Jossed for Season 2, but in Season 1, he did go up against Billy Mays.
  • Steve Jobs will have a battle, as his comment on the series was "pass the mic".
    • Confirmed on NicePeter's channel; he went up against Bill Gates and died.
  • King Henry VIII will appear.
    • Possibly both confirmed and Jossed. A battle between Henry the eighth and Hilary Clinton was planned and written, but Peter and Lloyd disliked how it came out and scrapped it.
  • Master Chief will have his own battle.
    • Confirmed; he went up against Leonidas, to many a fanboy's delight.

Season 2 will end with the ever-requested "Barack Obama VS. Osama bin Laden" match.

The ERB universe's version of Stephen Hawking is a technopath.
Which is how he manages to play Angry Birds without using his hands.

Vader and Hawking teamed up based on their shared hatred of ableist Germans.
Einstein kept slinging the cripple-jokes, and Hitler made a few shots against Vader's cyborg status.
  • This would become an unfair fight, since there's no way in Hell the Jewish Albert Einstein would be in a 10-mile radius with Hitler.

Season Two's Russian character will be Putin himself
Makes most sense.
  • Confirmed.
Ivan the Terrible or Grigori Rasputin
IT MUST HAPPEN!

De Storm will play a character in Season Two
He shows up a lot in the Making Of Michael Jackson vs. Elvis, despite having his own channel to worry about and not being all that involved with ERB since his appearance as Mr. T.
  • Jossed.
    • However, he did play Kanye West in Season 3, and Shaka Zulu in Season 4.

HAL's appearance is foreshadowing a future battle
He came out of nowhere and left right at the end with no hints as to him ever coming in. More likely than not, he'll be in a future battle, possibly even the very next one.
  • Aaaaaand the first possible match-up between A.I.s could very well be HAL vs. GLaDOS...

Toby Turner and Jack Douglass might appear in future videos
Youtube personalities/comedians/singers living in LA, where the rap battles are made.

If there's a Rap Battle starring Nikola Tesla
His dance at the end will be the Electric Slide.
  • Nikola Tesla battles with Thomas Edison in Season 2. Not sure what dance he does at the end though.

An idea about the upcoming 12/10 rap battle...
  • The in-universe explanation of why there's 6 rap battles being released from 10/1 to 12/10 every two weeks is that Theodore Roosevelt, mad that there were no ERBs during the summer, forced NicePeter and EpicLOYD to get off of there asses and work. ...wouldn't be an epic Brick Joke to have the 11/10 rap battle be the guys vs. Teddy in as an act of vengeance?
    • Jossed.

The announcer will eventually be in a rap battle.
Tell me that you don't want to see that voice rapping. It would be epically meta.
  • If it happens, it MUST be against Rod Serling.
  • EPIC RAP BATTLES OF HISTORY! ROD SERLING! VERTHUS! MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
    • And this is my well-researched argument on why this must happen.

The Season 2 finale is gonna be Mythbusters against Ghostbusters, but with a twist...
This is long. If you read all of this, you really deserve a cookie.
Look at how many votes that one got on the Michael Jackson Vs. Elvis Presley-video. (Around 28743 votes now, and only rising from here). They'll have an entire ensemble featuring a big part of the guest rappers so far in the same battle. From the top:

NOTE: Inside these note  brackets, is who they orginally appeared as, as to not cause any confusion with all the names.

Mythbusters:

  • Adam: George Watsky note
  • Jamie: Link note
  • Grant: Mike Diva note  (With Timothy Delaghetto note  making a brief appearance as a younger Grant building robots)
  • Tory: Rhett note

Cameo from Kari by Kimmy Gatewood, note

Ghostbusters:

  • Peter: Mickey Meyer note
  • Ray: Alex Farnham note
  • Egon: MC Mr. Napkins note
  • Winston: DeStorm note

Cameo from Dana by Lisa Nova, note

Other cameos featured would be Jesse Welle note  as Walter Peck, Alphacat note  as the President (Obama, duh), Angela Trimbur note  as Michelle Obama and if they want to go that far, Bentley Green note  crossdressing as one of Obama's daughters.

These guys will duke it out in a long and epic battle that'll be the crowning awesome moment of all rap battles, but then, a third team will emerge, in a My God, What Have I Done?-moment.

This team is:

  • EpicLLOYD
  • Nice Peter.
  • Kassem G
  • The Announcer

And so, the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny will be ON.

  • Jossed but something happens in this department. Mythbusters vs Ghostbusters went up as the Season 4 premier in 2014. The only confirmed part of this guess is Egon's casting.

Fidel Castro will appear in a future rap battle.
In the "Behind the Scenes"-video for Bruce Lee vs. Clint Eastwood, someone dressed suspiciously like the former Cuban dictator is seen on a phone.

If Dr Wily is ever in a battle, he’ll be played by MC. Mr Napkins
Self explanatory.

Mozart will eventually appear in an episode
He's the only one on Santas' list that hasn't been on the show yet. Foreshadowing, perhaps?
  • Also, Beethoven is likely to make a return, so maybe they will battle?
  • Beethoven will come to help Mozart to battle someone instead of them facing each other because Mozart TAUGHT Beethoven. So it would be Beethoven repaying the favour by stepping in to help his teacher. Oh, and it's Mozart vs TAYLOR SWIFT.
  • Confirmed — he's rapping against Skrillex.

They're going to make an official version of Michael J. Fox vs. Chucky.
You know that this needs to be done. (Yes, an unofficial one exists.)

Counter-WMG: There will not be any AI vs AI matches.
Do you think Lloyd and Peter will want to make a match completely in computer monotone or other cybernetic voice? On one side, and played subtly (HAL, Steven Hawking), it's okay. Two A.I.s would just be annoying, and it'd be too hard to differentiate between two AI voices. Not to mention using most computer characters would necessitate either the use of static graphics (boring; HAL was very impressive, but there's only so many ways you can tweak one static image) or fake holograms (too hard even for their special effects?).

There will be no animated characters in rap battles
This mostly goes for popular suggestions like Homer Simpson vs. Peter Griffin, where it would be difficult if not impossible to create the battle without animating the battle. Not even mentioning the voice acting that would go with it.
  • Jossed. The Mario Bros. made it in. Goku made it in too, as did the the TMNT. Peter said that they didn't want to go with the direction of having a fight between Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson but he acknowledged that it was a highly-requested battle.

The special guests in Rasputin vs. Stalin will have their own rap battles.
Because it's kind of unfair to have them rap against the other battlers without letting their targets have a chance to fire back. They might be spread out since there can be too much of a good thing.

The reason why Stalin is so much more sinister than Hitler is because of Peter's heritage.
According to the video description of Rasputin vs. Stalin, Peter is of Russian descent. It's possible that he might have gone to the Motherland and heard stories of what it was like under Stalin's rule, or maybe even had relatives who escaped from Communist Russia. The closeness of these accounts may have forever colored how he thinks of Stalin, resulting in the dark portrayal in the Season 2 Finale.
  • This is supported by the fact that Rasputin and Lenin, both portrayed by Peter, had some very unkind things to say about Stalin. It could be viewed as a form of catharsis.

Eventually, they will get a well-known celebrity or politician to appear as themselves.
They already got Snoop Dogg to play Moses. They could probably get Christopher Lee or George Takei. Maybe even against each other...
  • Confirmed, in a sense. Skrillex played himself for a portion of the battle for the ERB presentation for the Youtube Comedy Week special.

Gordon Freeman will be in Season 3.
Putin said the phrase "half-life". By itself, it doesn't mean much, but he said it in a way that really didn't make much sense in context and even as a joke it felt forced. Possibly thrown in as a spoiler for season 3?

If Neil Armstrong appears in a rap battle, their will be a scene with him moonwalking on the moon.
You know it's too awesome to pass up!

The announcer is The Pyro
He does sound like the Pyro sometimes, and the loud voice is generally The Pyro shouting under his mask, or doing animal impressions.

Alternatively, the announcer is a Time Lord

All the rap battles happen in his TARDIS. He basically travels around time, and likes to take various characters from different periods and make them rap against each other, usually giving them each some basic information about their opponent that they can exploit in their verses and a partial introduction to modern pop culture. The announcer has a particular grudge against Hitler so he likes to come up with ways to mess with him.

Hitler's third opponent for the Season 3 premiere will be?
  • Vader again?
    • Confirmed.
  • Emperor Palpatine. They have expressed interest in putting him on the show in one of the epic makeup of history episodes.
    • Considering how Palps got into power and is the trope codifer of the Evil Overlord trope, this is highly probable. Afterwards, Palpatine could drag Hitler away and make him into a cyborg apprentice, with a Fate Worse than Death implied (much like Cyber-Maul.
    • With Hitler getting cut in half by Vaders Lightsaber... this is scarily possible if there's a #4.
  • The Galactic Empire vs The Third Reich.
  • Joseph Stalin or Winston Churchill.
  • That gunshot heard at the end of the trailer is Hitler killing himself, similar to his real life counterpart. This could just mean that Adolf Hitler has a rap battle in Hell. Who with? Kaiser Wilhelm, aka the other Evil German. The former would blame Wilhelm for World War I and his Start of Darkness, and the latter would blame Hitler for a lot.

The Season 3 premiere was a Writer Revolt; Nice Peter and Epic Lloyd are sick of doing Vader and Hitler, and will NOT do it again next premiere.
  • There was some serious quality slippage going on, especially in Hitler's rhymes; Vader kind of overcame it by calling in Boba Fett and adding Rule of Cool, but his lyrics themselves were also definitely weaker. This is partially because the creators are out of ideas, and partially Stylistic Suck to show they were sick of the pairing.
  • Furthermore, Adolf Hitler gets pretty explicitly killed - onscreen. It's still possible for him to come back, as the above WMG shows, but his death is a lot more explicit and No One Could Survive That! than his past two Disney Deaths.
    • The Season 4 trailer confirms he really was killed-however, he comes back as a ghost and is trapped by the Ghost Busters.
  • Finally, Hitler says "I am Adolf Hitler," right before the end of the match. This is Book Ends to his first line in the first rap battle, which was also "I am Adolf Hitler,".
  • Alternatively, Hitler will return one last time in the next season, but this time he'll finally prevail against Vader or, at the very least, drag Vader down with him.
  • During the "YOU DECIDE!" at the end of the video, there's a circle of screenshots of comments. Not all of them are suggestions for the third match, one of them in particular is someone saying "Vader vs hitler is getting kinda old, no offense." [sic] — The real question is whether or not they tossed a complaint about the idea for laughs, or if it's hinting at something else...
  • Confirmed! The Season 4 premiere was Mythbusters vs Ghostbusters, and in the Behind the Scenes, Nice Peter lays it out straight that they don't have any more material for Hitler's lines. The season 4 trailer shows Ghost!Hitler getting trapped by the Ghostbusters as the Mythbusters look on in fascination.

There will be another Hitler rap battle, either as a Season 3 Finale or a Season 4 premier.
  • Hitler was "killed" exactly the same way as Darth Maul was. However, in Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Animated Series, Darth Maul was shown to have survived and now has robotic legs. Therefore, Hitler will return with robotic legs as well. However, rather than rapping against Vader again, he will instead have to fight the Chessmaster who has been orchestrating Vader and Hitler's battles since Vader vs Hitler 2: Stephen Hawking.
    • Hawking might even rap against both Vader and Hitler at once, and it would be AWESOME! It would also explain why Hawking seemed to change loyalties in both rematches. In the first rematch, he is clearly working with Vader, sitting in the background watching the whole time (you can see his silhouette in the opening shot) and only coming into view to inform Hitler he's standing over the rancor pit... yet he's the one who gives Hitler his microphone. (though that doesn't do much to help since Hitler never thinks to try using it).
    • Alternatively, either the next rematch will involve Hitler getting back at Darth Vader for reals, or crazy robot legs Hitler will become a Big Bad that threatens the rest of the ERB universe and requires a number of different rappers to defeat.
      • Jossed, as explained above.

Edward Kenway didn't kill Blackbeard's crew members.
In the game he came from, he's on pretty good terms with Blackbeard. It's possible that the two plotted some sort of scheme involving Kenway being a double agent, pretending to be betraying Blackbeard for Capone, when in reality, he's helping Blackbeard somehow. For example, Blackbeard had some crew members that had dubious loyalty to him, and they needed to be "taken care of" before they could cause any harm.

Tatooine is where all of the characters hang out in between — or even during — raps
This is based on a comment on the ERB wiki. Hence why Leonidas, the Fourth Doctor, and Randy Savage were flying by in the intro to Hitler Vs Vader 3.

The "or even during" is because both of the latter Vader Vs Hitler matches show that the backgrounds in the raps are not indicative of where the characters actually are. Those are also, so far (Peter vs Lloyd and Romney vs Obama possibly being two exceptions, but it isn't clear if the mountain top from the former or the forest from the later are the "real" locations), the only battles that have had their "real" settings revealed. So who knows how many raps are taking place on a planet from Star Wars?

The raps were what the Secret Board of Shadowy Figures wanted to do with the members of Clone High.
They eventually cloned more historical figures, as well as more recent celebrities and politicians, and even fictional characters, and made them rap against each other.

If there ever is a Marvel vs DC battle...
    This is really long.
(Self-jossing this, as there are way too many people on each side and several of the characters aren’t well known enough to be featured)

The rappers will be:First and Second Verses:

  • DC
    • Peter as Shazam
  • Marvel
    • Lloyd as Deadpool
      • Key and Peele as the voices in Deadpool’s head

Third and Fourth Verses:

  • DC
    • Lloyd as Superman
    • Peter as Shazam
    • Rhett as Green Arrow
  • Marvel
    • Lloyd as Wolverine
    • Peter as Spiderman
    • Link as Bruce Banner

Fifth and Sixth Verses:

  • DC
    • Lloyd as Sinestro
    • Peter as the Joker
    • Tay Zonday as Lex Luthor
  • Marvel
    • Lloyd as Magneto
    • Peter as Doctor Doom
    • Zack Sherwin as Loki

Seventh and Eighth Verses:

  • DC
    • Lloyd as Superman
    • Peter as Batman
    • Angela Trimbur as Wonder Woman
    • DeStorm Powers as Green Lantern
    • George Watsky as the Flash
    • Alex Farnham as Aquaman
    • Ray William Johnson as the Martian Manhunter
  • Marvel
    • Lloyd as Iron Man
    • Peter as Captain America
    • Colin J Sweeney as Thor
    • Link as the Hulk
    • Dante as Hawkeye
    • Jessi Smiles as Black Widow
    • Alphacat as Nick Fury

All rap battles take place within the Ghostbusters universe
After seeing Marshmallow Man in Mythbusters vs Ghostbusters, this explanation is available to explain a lot of the mechanics of the Rap Battle universe. Assume that the point when Stantz imagines the Marshmallow Man is held in stasis by the Announcer (who is a Time Lord).
  • Backgrounds that characters use are imagined by the characters themselves. As the Announcer improved the stasis of his set over time, the backgrounds got more complex, supporting more physical objects. The appearance of the Ghostbusters meant that he could use the actual world, thus the entire cityscape of New York. It is not a coincidence that this is the background with the largest radius thus far, and that it is one of only three times a background completely envelops both teams (Obama vs Romney, Gates vs Jobs).
  • This setup accounts for how characters can mirror themselves multiple times in a single shot, or harmonize with themselves.
  • It also allows opponents to bring out their respective minor characters at will, and for team battlers to stay in sync with each other.
  • Other weirdness accounted for:
    • The carbonite bath in Vader vs Hitler and the Rancor pit in the rematch (which is why Hitler never saw it coming, it literally appeared right under him).
    • Chuck Norris' ability to become a giant.
    • Stephen Hawking's ability to play Angry Birds.
    • Dr. Seuss' ability to bring his characters to life.
    • HAL.
    • Lincoln being ferried by an impossibly large bald eagle.
    • Doc Brown having a remote for a Dalek.
    • Clint Eastwood's ability to desynchronize his voice from his lips.
    • Tesla's ability to shoot lightning from his hands.
    • The appearance of Edward Kenway in Blackbeard vs. Al Capone (a strictly non-fictional battle).
    • Bob Ross painting his background mid-battle.
    • All the ghosts in Trump vs. Scrooge.

The series is set After the End
Or at least after the death of all non-fictional figures in them. Similar to the Clone High theory above. At some point in the future, mankind develops the ability to make sentient robots with their own personalities. This ability is used to make recreations of historical figures and fictional characters. These robots (or at least some of them) were also programmed with the ability to rap. Why? Because why not? This accounts for:
  • Instances of living people being referred to as dead within the battle, like Donald Trump and the B-Team.
  • Bruce Lee and Clint Eastwood's Improbable Aiming Skills-the Memetic Badass versions of those characters have stuck around as the popular image for long enough that people start to actually believe it, or they know it's not real but decide to give the robots those abilities anyway for the fun of it.
  • Figures like Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin being such Obviously Evil Card Carrying Villains-again, those versions of the characters have stuck around as the image of them in pop-culture long enough that they start to become confused for the real thing, or people just think it's more fun to make the robots that way.
  • Why, even though characters are brought back from their real life deaths to battle all the time, characters who die in a battle are assumed to have died permanently, and Hitler had to be revealed to be Not Quite Dead to make each rematch possible.
  • How the characters can be aware of their own fictional status or of their own deaths.
  • In general, how characters from completely different time periods, settings, or even universes can know about and battle each other.

ERB's Alfred Hitchcock holds a measure of respect for Michael Bay
Think about it. In the battle, every rapper goes for Bay's movies themselves, but Al goes for one of the actors instead. Why would he do that unless he has some positive feeling for Bay? Plus, watch Alfred when Bay flips the birds. Why does he react so much more than the others? It's like he felt betrayed.

A future season will prominently feature characters who appeared in previous ERB
Many ways this could go:
  • One character from a past episode against a new opponent. (ex. Steven Spielberg VS James Cameron, or Stephen King VS H.P. Lovecraft)
  • Two characters from different episodes, but a similar theme to the two of them. (Isaac Newton VS Albert Einstein)
  • A character who entered a rap battle after it started will finally be a full part of an ERB (think HAL 9000 or Neil Degrasse Tyson)
  • No rematch between characters from the same episode! (Thus, no Tarantino VS Bay, as an example)

Davy Jones' locker and combination truly exist, and the combination is 6-50-40.
Ignoring the question of how it has a dial with that many numbers, it takes three numbers to open a locker; Blackbeard mentions the above numbers at some point in his lines (I come strapped with six pistols and a dagger; no skeezer would touch if she had fifty foot tweezers; forty cannons on the Queen Anne). Blackbeard tells Capone to prepare to learn the combination because he had already said the lines where six and fifty were mentioned; thus, Capone was given the first two parts, and the line that follows involved the last number. By dropping the numbers in his lines, Blackbeard is secretly bragging about how superior he is as a criminal than Capone with the fact he's had to open the locker to store his enemies' corpses to the point where he knows the combination by memory.
  • Alternately, the combination is 6-5-0. Blackbeard did say to prepare to learn the combination after he said those numbers. Besides, this combination is a perfectly possible combination for a locker with a typical dial.
    • Except Blackbeard said to prepare to learn the combination, and this was right before he mentioned the number 40. Besides, I have seen locks that go all the way to 60.

All of the Rap Battles take place off-screen during Bill and Ted's Most Excellent Adventure
Bill and Ted of the future decided that they should invest in rapping. So they travel across all of Time and Space, and get a lot of Historical figures to duke it out on the mic. That's why a Homer Simpson vs Peter Griffin rap battle can't happen. They're animated characters. Meanwhile, the Mario Bros and Darth Vader, both who are fictious characters, can easily be brought to life through their utopian technology.

The Grim Reaper will run for President of the United States of America in 2024
Since Donald Trump is running in 2016 and Kanye West plans to run in 2020...

Nietzsche was brainwashed by Socrates prior to the Philosophers' Rap Battle.
The two main leaders of the Philosophers' rap battle (Either Socrates and Sun Tzu or Socrates and Confucius) were told prior to the battle to get two team-mates. For Socrates, getting Voltaire was not hard, but Socrates learned somehow that Nietzsche, his planned second team-mate, despised both him and Voltaire. Socrates, to counter this, found a way to brainwash Nietzsche, and duped the man into joining his team to battle the Eastern Philosophers.

This makes a few things regarding Nietzsche a little clearer - particularly, how Nietzsche is even on the same team as Socrates. When Socrates was brainwashing him, he told him something along the lines of "Nietzsche, listen to me. A "rap battle" is approaching. We need you on our side. Remember, you and me are friends, and you are a nihilist." or something like that to dupe him into thinking that about himself. The brainwashing, of course, wasn't permanent - it began to wear off during Confucius' and Lao Tzu's rap/beatboxing bars, and by the time Sun Tzu picked up after that, it had worn off completely. Hence why Nietzsche finally betrayed Socrates' side after so long in the battle.

What also supports this is Socrates' facial expressions when around Nietzsche. At first, he seems pretty confident that he has him on his side, but when Nietzsche refers to him as a plebe he is visually shocked and disturbed - he didn't bank on the possibility that the brainwashing would wear off mid-battle.

There will be a Trump vs Hillary rap battle in November.
It happened last time with Obama and Romney. The interrupter this time will probably be George Washington.
  • Confirmed. However, Washington didn't appear. Instead, Abe Lincoln drops by again just like in Obama vs Romney.

Alexander Hamilton will show up sometime.
Considering his popularity right now in a rap drama about his life, that's sort of a given.

One of the battles will be a Take That! to the fans complaining about the battles being too "politically correct".
Probably involving a hate speaker against a hero.

Donald Trump will battle his Scrooge battle allies.
JP Morgan in 2018, Kanye West in 2020 and (since we probably got very sick of him) Death in 2022.

In 2020 Lincoln will appear in the Presidential Rap Battle, but will not even address Donald Trump's opponent.
He won't even care who's running against Trump, seeing him purely as a disgrace to the office. His entire verse will be Trump-bashing.
  • Jossed; In the 2020 battle, Lincoln doesn't appear at all.

So who was teased in the new Season 6 trailer?
Here are a few notable things in the trailer, along with whom or what those things were hinting at:
  • A guy with nunchucks = ???
  • A guy with a dead eyed stare looking into the camera behind a mic = either Mark Zuckerberg or Rod Serling, most likely the former.
    • Mark Zuckerberg confirmed.
  • A guy with a cowboy hat holding some chains = ???
  • Guy putting on a hoodie = probably Eminem, or the hoodie was a test for another character who's often known for hoods. Perhaps Robin Hood, or a Assassin?
  • Lloyd trying out a white curly mustache = ???
  • A black and white gun shaped thing = Elon Musk's Not-A-Flamethrower.
  • A guy blasting off into space = probably Elon Musk?
    • It's probably worth noting that the guy does the trademark Iron Man pose while flying.
    • Elon Musk confirmed. His opponent will be Mark Zuckerberg.
  • A sound clip of Walt Disney saying "THIS WHOLE SERIES" from the Stan Lee vs Jim Henson battle = possible hint at his return?
    • It's an ironic foreshadowing that Maker Studios will no longer produce ERB. Peter was dissatisfied with Disney's ownership of Maker, and so Musk vs Zuckerberg was produced independently and the same will happen for season 6.

ERB is the result of a Holy Grail War that went completely off the rails.

Somebody developed a modified version of Heaven's Feel that can be cast by just about anyone and doesn't count toward the limit on the number of participants the Holy Grail War is supposed to have. The catch is that instead of one of the normal Servant classes, everyone it summons belongs to the Rapper class, which is a Joke Character who trades most combat ability for being able to rap like a professional. Most of their Noble Phantasms only serve to make their verses more interesting. The victor in a battle between two Rappers is decided by popular vote; whichever one gets fewer votes after so much time is destroyed. There are also a few really pissed off mages out there who are mad that they have to wade through dozens of Rappers just to get the Holy Grail.

  • This actually makes sense if you take into account how the participants know all about each other and modern events- the Holy Grail is giving them the information. The fact that some actual Fate characters look different is because they've been summoned as a different class.

Season 6 will be the last season.
The Stock Footage of Disney shouting "THIS WHOLE SERIES!" hints that this season will complete the entire series.

There will be 18 battles of season 6.
Each of seasons 3, 4, and 5 consisted of two half-seasons, each with six battles. ERB confirmed that they will release a new battle every month between April and December 2019, making nine battles in total. These nine battles will make up the first half of season 6. The second half will consist of nine battles spread throughout 2020.
  • Jossed: Harry Potter vs. Luke Skywalker is the season finale, making 11 battles total. That said, there may have been more planned, if not for the COVID-19 Pandemic impacting production.

Pewdiepie vs T-Series is the next to be upgraded to an ERB
Played by Bill Skarsgaard and Himesh Patel to cross-promote It: Chapter Two and Yesterday (2019).

Freddy wasn't battling Wolverine. He was battling Hugh Jackman.
Freddy's line about Wolverine just being an actor in costume is actually really weird when you think about it, considering that the same applies to Freddy himself. It makes a lot more sense if Wolverine actually *doesn't* exist in the context of the battle, and it's just Hugh Jackman dreaming of himself as Wolverine.

Indiana Jones will be a third-party rapper in the next ERB.
And the first two rappers will be Laura Croft and Nathan Drake, making it a battle royale of adventurer archaeologists.

The Stupendium will make an appearance

We will eventually get a rap battle that turns into a Death Battle after the rap is done.
As a double-promotion of both Epic Rap Battles and Death Battle. Guesses can be added here:
  • Area 51 Raiders (September 20, 2019, the exaggerated version of the Area 51 raiders according to the internet) Vs. The Psychos (Borderlands). Battle of the raiders with eccentric traits.
  • Hancock (Hancock) Vs. Brandon Breyer (Brightburn). Superman Expy as a dude who needs rehab Vs. Superman Expy who is too far gone for redemption.
  • Waffen SS (WWII) Vs. KGB (1950's). Nazis Vs. Communists. 1940's Vs. 1950's.
  • Nostalgia Critic (Nostalgia Critic) Vs. Angry Video Game Nerd (Angry Video Game Nerd) Vs. Linkara (Atop the Fourth Wall) Vs. Bennett The Sage (Anime Abandon). Battle Royale of Critics. Movie Critic Vs. Video Game Critic Vs. Comic Book Critic Vs. Anime Critic.
  • Ash Williams (Evil Dead) Vs. Chris Redfield (Resident Evil) Vs. Frank West (Dead Rising) Vs. Cherry Darling (Planet Terror). Battle Royale of characters who survived against reanimated dead people.
  • Vin Diesel Vs. Chuck Norris. Memetic Badasses. Plus, Vin was a Memetic Badass BEFORE the Chuck Norris memes. As a bonus, feats from their respective movies and TV shows will also be featured as these are exaggerated versions of the two actors.
  • Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter (from the book of the same name) Vs. Mecha-Hitler (Wolfenstein). The concept of the Historical Domain Character taken up to eleven. Of course, since Abraham comes back as a vampire in the sequel book, here’s hoping we get to see Abraham open up a can of bloodthirsty whoop-ass on robo-Adolf.
  • Robocop (From the movies of the same name) Vs. Maniac Cop (From the movies of the same name). Robocop faces off against his Evil Counterpart.

Luke was originally going to say “And I’d rather herd nerfs than have to endure your Twitter TERF!“ but they decided to change it to “your third verse” at the last moment to avoid controversy
  • Jenner vs Banner showed that they aren't afraid to (rightly) support trans rights, and few people actually support Rowling. I think it's more Twitter Terf doesn't flow.

There will be a Take That! to J. K. Rowling in the future

That wasn't really Batman and Robin

Godzilla won't rap
  • They made a joke about Jason not being able to rap because he's mute during Wolverine vs Freddy Krueger. Since Godzilla can't talk, one horrific incident aside, Dr. Serizawa and/or the Shobijin will spend the rap hyping him up. Ditto for his opponent with an appropriate character.
  • Jossed, both he and Kong speak.
Lilly Singh will play Kamala Harris if she ever appears in a battle

The Easter Bunny wasn't threatening to give Ghenghis a Groin Attack
Consider that China is often used as rhyming slang for something else, and what the Mongols were infamous for doing, sonething the Bunny also mentions in his raps, you can see where this is going.

The Easter Bunny was using foot as an Unusual Euphemism for dick, and basically was saying "I'm going to commit Black Comedy Rape on you to give you A Taste of Their Own Medicine".
