Jackson's Asena is Erin Black's Asena's Puppy - Beyond the fondness Black shares for Lyote in general, she freezes when she Jackson first calls Asena in front of her. She also knows Asena was a gift from Jessica Hunt but doesn't elaborate more when asked beyond a "sounds familiar" and a smile. Knowing that Lyote have been on a no tame list for nearly 20 years and Asena can't be much older then 6 years old yet still acknowledged as having a "wild quality" Jessica sought out the worlds foremost Lyote specialist whose own powerful Lycanaris probably had pups with a wild Lyote evolution Djinn.
Erin Black is Jackson's other grandmother - We know nothing of Jackson's paternal heritage. Black seemingly knew Jessica and was fond of her and by extension Jackson. Lyotes are a very rare, endangered, and unique Djinn with only a handful being in the DBL at all and only one ever being Gold League. Jessica was convinced to give Jackson a piece of his other heritage knowing how he would idolize Erin Black when he learned of her.
