Roles that the Defiant wrestlers will take on the IPW invasion
Written after Defiant #5.We know that Jimmy Havoc, Primate, Martin Kirby and Joe Coffey are on the Defiant side. The same statement can be made for Gabriel Kidd. Zack Gibson turned on the IPW side as of Defiant #5 out of spite for the Defiant crowd. And of course, there's Team Aries leading the IPW invasion. All that remains to be seen is which stance will take the remaining Defiant wrestlers:
- The Prestige: IPW. Already shown with El Ligero and Hendry's actions at Aries vs. Banks at Defiant #5. Whether it was out of spite for their former teammate or for their newfound allegiance to IPW remains to be seen. Same for Starr, who doesn't seem to be too convinced to join Ligero and Hendry.
- The Congregation: All is a plan of Eaver to get more wrestlers to join the Defiant side.
- CCK, or more exactly Kid Lykos and Chris Brookes: They either: a) want Travis Banks on the IPW side (thus themselves being fake defectors or b) are actually on the Defiant side in order to be able to finally get the band together. With Kid Lykos recovering from the Starr attack, things are sliding slowly to b), what with The Prestige being at the time more on the IPW side rather than the Defiant side, but time will tell.
Grand finale and aftermath of the IPW invasion
A triumph of Defiant is inevitable (otherwise it would mean that they weren't able to run for much longer than expected and everyone would leave for IPW). The question is, how will events turn out for the finale?- Austin Aries: GM Stu Bennett will pull a Wade Barrett out of the hat and say "Austin, I'm afraid I've got bad news for you: good luck on your future endeavors".
- The Congregation: Near the end, they pull a Big Damn Heroes moment finally showing that they were on the Defiant side all along, and will repel the IPW invaders alongside the rest of the roster. After the end, Eaver will make a Heel–Face Turn and the Congregation will spread the Defiant word everywhere. Possibly Gabriel Kidd will join the Congregation in order to stay with his friend Prince Ameen, and Eaver will finally get the respect he deserves.
- CCK (Lykos/Brookes): Either they join the Defiant side fighting alongside Travis Banks, reveal themselves to be working with IPW all along and even betray Banks, or reveal they were Evil All Along and finally manage to get Travis Banks to the IPW side.
- The Prestige: Either they join IPW out of spite for Travis Banks or CCK gets Travis Banks to join the IPW side (thus showing they were Evil All Along) and The Prestige pull a Heel–Face Turn joining the Defiant side in order to definitely kick Travis Banks out of Defiant forever. This may or may not end with David Starr a) keep hanging out with TP or b) abandoning The Prestige.
- As for Zack Gibson? Unless he also pulls a Big Damn Heroes moment and reinforces the Defiant side, finally getting a Heel–Face Turn, it's extremely possible that he'll stay on the IPW side.
- Another (wacky and extremely unlikely, this is Wild Mass Guessing after all...) possibility: Wrestlers from WCPW past such as Jay Lethal and the NXT stars will join the Defiant side (with support from Triple H himself, no less!).
